6.1 Back up Bug

Since the 6.1 iOS update on a 4s i can no longer perform a back up in iTunes. iTunes says can not perform backup iPhone encountered error. Anyonr know how to solve this?

I have tried to rename the file then backup, I have deleted and tried a backup but this did not work. I tried resore phone from itunes but I did not have a back up so this did not work. I have tried Settings-general-reset where I tried reset all settings/reset network settings, none of these options worked. Finally I had to Erase all content and Settings. This worked but I lost some information which I can get back.

  • Volume & Back Button Bug Lumia 820

    Hi all,
I bought my wife a Nokia Lumia 820 about 2 months ago and up until now she's been extremely pleased and impressed with it. However yesterday she encountered a weird bug which we cannot fix.
Am not sure how she managed it, but the volume display now remains visible always at the top of the phone display and volume is set to 0 and cannot be changed. In addition the back arrow (bottom left) no longer works in any app as it now just tries to close the volume display in the header.
I see a number of people have reported issues with low volume but I could not find anyone else who has the same specific issue with the volume display always showing.
Steps taken to try and resolve this:
Rebooted phone (holding power and volume down)
Backed up the app data etc and did a factory reset
    Removed the battery and rebooted
Ensured that the phone had the latest updates
After the first reboot the display did seem to resolve itself until I then clicked on the volume controls on the side of the phone. This then caused the volume to go straight down to 0 and then the display stuck and had the same problem again.
Also on some of my attempts to reboot the phone, a white exclamation mark showed up after the reboot and the phone was frozen so only way to try and get past this again was to reboot again and again until it disappeared.
Something is obviously wrong but am not sure whether it's a software glitch or an issue wiht the handset.
Can someone help shed some light on this else I'm going to get a lot of earache from the wife soon?
    Thanks a lot, Matt

We have 3 Lumia 820 and one of the handsets behaved like you folks describing..
Did some resets, soft or hard, cant remember, but finally gave the handset to the shop and they sent in in for a reflash by Nokia.
Working without this issue after that and for about 4 weeks now so, reflash it...

  • PickSingleFileAndContinue back button bug?

I think I may have found a bug in the Silverlight 8.1 file picker abomination. After much pain rewriting my original image picker and eventually getting it to work for 8.1 (minus random yet frequent crashes from low level system
code), I thought I'd add a file picker for audio files to my app. I used the same logic and all is fine if the user actually picks a file. Where things fall apart and behave differently is when being presented with the "choose an app"
screen containing OneDrive or Phone as choices and pressing the back button instead of selecting an app. The back button falls straight through my page's OnBackPressed override (i.e. never called) and takes me back an extra page. I don't get
this behaviour for images as I'm taken straight to the image library and my app is suspended.
That initial screen pop up must be happening in-process as it doesn't looked to have pushed my app to the background yet. Using the back button should take me back to the page that called the PickSingleFileAndContinue or resume the app as though the system
had pushed it to the background. At the moment it seems to be sending an unhandleable (great English!) back button request. Can I change this behaviour or am I missing something obvious?

  • Ios safari clear history hold back button bug

    try to clear you hisotry
    go to safari
    hold the back button
it will still sometimes show your history.
i've tried this by clearing it through bookmarks and clearing through the general>settings menu and both have this bug
is this just me or anyone else?

this actually happens if you close your tabs still. It shows you what you were looking at even AFTER you cleared your history!

  • Is there any way to feed back software bugs to Apple or are they too arrogant to think they need feedback?

Since the last upgrade my mail make LOTS of draft copies (and puts them in my deleted file) and then doesn't delete the last copy after the send. I can't find anyway to give Apple feedback (guess they feel that they don't need customer input).
This is clearly a bug but I don't know how to let them know or set the the draft "backup" to way less activity.

  • Safari - Swipe Back Cache Bug

(Sorry for the double post, but I realized I initially posted the below in the wrong forum)
I just discovered something very odd, if not a possible exploit with Safari 5.1. Please understand, I'm not trying to be an alarmist.
I was using Safari 5.1 (OS X Lion), and logged into the Bank of America site. After logging out, I swiped back a page (not meaning to), and much to my surprise the page had been fully cached. Yep, all my banking info was there, even though I had logged out. after about 20 seconds, the page did revert to a sign in page. I then did another swipe back and saw another page full of banking data. I was stepping back through all my banking transactions, each fully viewable for about 20 seconds, even though I had logged out
Now I know its 'Best Practice' to close a browser after viewing sensitive (banking), info, but I would have expected the data to not have been cached and so easily viewable.
I dont' know how long the data stays cached, i.e. after logging out, can I come back hours later, swipe back a page and see the cached bank data.
I tried the same thing on Chrome and it did not show any data, but showed a 'You must login' page. I feel Safari should behave the same way. No data that was viewed while securely logged in, should be cached and viewable once logged out.
Please give it a try and let my know your findings and thoughts.

Also experiencing weird Safari swipe back behavior.. When I visit sites like Reddit or Gizmodo, check comments and swipe back a page, it shows me a version of the page from yesterday. I have to realize this and hit refresh to update the page to not use the cache.

  • Two bugs with 27++ battery behaviour

    Bug 1:
55++ and 27++ batteries are both connected.  However, the 27++ "lock switch" is not on, and the message "Important information about the slick battery"..."To use the slice battery, the battery must be locked" will appear (this is expected).  The system in this case will start discharging the 55++ (this is expected).  However, when the 55++ battery drops to 0%, the system then start discharging from the 27++ battery...even when then "lock switch" is off.  (This is unexpected)
So, is the popup message incorrect?  Or is the behaviour incorrect?
    Bug 2:
Power manager's battery icon considers the total amount of charge of both batteries even when the lock switch is off on the 27++.  Relating back to bug 1, when the 55++ battery discharges to a warning level (3% is what I've set mine to), the alarm and events will kick in (this is correct, because even though the 27++ is at 100% charge, the switch is off, and the system should only consider the 55++ as functional).  However, the battery indicator icon (on the taskbar) of Power Manager and the "Total remaining battery" time & percentage considers BOTH the 55++ and 27++ batteries.  So, rather than displaying 3% and around 4 minutes, Power Manager displays 52% and 6 hours (this is unexpected).
Lenovo, please fix this.  The user's experience should be consistent.
    System: 4282-CTO
    BIOS: 1.36
    OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit
    Power Manager: 3.66
    PM Driver: 1.64

    someotherguy wrote:
The switch should be in the locked position whenever the slice battery is attached.  If it is not, Power Manager will warn you, but it won't let your system die just because you forgot to flip a switch.  That would be a terrible design.
Sorry you are disappointed with the way the slice battery fits.
Yes, that I totally agree with.  In which case, it prompts the question of "Is there any electronic reasoning for the existance of the lock switch?".  The other two purposes of the lock swich I can see are:
    1. It changes the order of dischange between the 27++ and the 55++.
    2. It "locks" the battery in.
So, the 27++ battery actually "functions" as a fully functional battery regardless of the lock switch's state.  Isn't it?  This conficts with the popup message prompt.
Then the next thing is, Windows would report 0% as soon as the 55++ is dischanged...but the system would continue to use the 27++...which, IMO, is a conflict of information presented to the user.  While the battery indicator is a Windows feature, I believe Lenovo should remedy this difference in the reported capacity.
Another question...is there a UX QA department somewhere?

  • Cover flow anomalies

I suppose this is a Mac OSX Leopard bug, but maybe I'm wrong.
When I turn a window from list to cover flow view, and then later open certain other finder windows that were previously in list view, I find that they are now in cover flow view too. (This happens to some, but not all, windows that were previously in list view.)
Likewise, if I turn a window from cover flow to list, ALL windows later go back to list view, even the ones I wanted in cover flow view!
I thought changing one window to cover flow affected only that window. instead, OSX can't seem to grasp that I want some windows in cover flow and others in list.

I suppose it's not a bug but a new feature. The bug is when you use the back button....
Anyway, yep, that's how it works. You must use "Show View Options" and explicitly set every folder you want to have a certain display. If I double click my hard drive icon it opens in Column view, because I went to View->Show View Options and put a check in the radio button to "always open in column view" when I had the window open and set to column view. The alias to my home folder on the Desktop opens in list view for the same reason, while various picture folders open in Icon view. But if I open some folder that doesn't have a view explicitly set, it opens in whatever view the last opened folder had. Drives me nuts, but Apple was actually monkeying with things to silence the chorus of complaints about an inability to set a global default for Finder windows. Personally I find the new system confusing, And then there's the back button bug....

  • ESS - Bank - Payment method  showing blank line

    Hi All,
I have two specific problem  for ESS - Bank.
    1. In the ESS - Bank Information, we have a requirement to restrict Payment Method for a specific condition.
If employee's current Payment method (in IT09-ZLSCH) is 'E' (BAC Transfer), then he can not choose any other Payment method  in the Edit section. In order to accomplish that. we have used Badi HRPAD00INFTYUI and in the method FILL_HELP_VALUE, we have put the code to restrict Payment method to current payment method for above condition.
         Sample Code:
READ TABLE help_values INTO help_values_wa   WITH KEY fieldname = 'ZLSCH'.
                     ASSIGN help_values_wa-data->* TO <tabs>.
                    if pa_0009-zlsch = c_pay.
                    Loop at <tabs> ASSIGNING <wa_tab>.
assign COMPONENT 1 of structure <wa_tab> to <comp>.
                    if <comp> NE  c_pay.
                   delete <tabs>.
                   endif.
                  endloop.
                  endif.
As a result, we are getting 2 drop down values. One is Bank Transfer (As desired) and one Blank Line. In debug mode we saw help_values table only contains Bank Transfer. Thus I think this Blnak line is getting added by other SAP code.
Please help me for this issue and I would like to know how I can get rid of this Blank Line.
    2.  In Bank, We have created two Iviews. one for Edit. and Another for New Bank Account. Both of these hit BAdi HRPAD00INFTYUI in the Back end. For new Bank Account, BAdi implementation should be skipped so that user can have all Payment methods available even if his current Payment Mehtod is Bank Transfer. We have used Decoupled Framework also.
Please let me know how can I deactivate /filter above  Badi implementation for New Bank Account.

    Guys,
I feel, there is a SAP bug for the blank line in the web dynpro drop drown. In bank application, payment method will have a blank line entry by default. After doing a system debugging, I am sure that, this is not a back end bug. While system is binding  values  to frond end pick list (Dropdown box) element, it includes a blank line for unknown (to me at least) reason.
Thus, the only option to get rid of this issue is to make the field mandatory.
Can anybody reply for my second question that I have posted.

  • Docs issue, or file missing from iprint?

    Hi.
    http://www.novell.com/documentation/...a/bm5h5a4.html
Section 12 of paragraps 8.3.2 reads:
check the iPrint driver store & printer manager
Start the iPrint driver store and printer manager by running the
    following script: - exit_on_error
    /opt/novell/iprint/bin/ncs_iprint_svc_status.
iPrint in OES11 however does not contain a file or script called
    "ncs_iprint_svc_status"
I also submitted a doc comment, also telling them they made a copy and
paste error "Start the iPrint dirver store" shoudl of course read "check
    the iPrint driver store".
But this might be a problem in the RPMs instead of a doc problem, if
that file is supposed to exist.

  • [Solved] Site display issues in Firefox 11.0-2/KDE 4.8.1

I have been having issues with the form fields of the AUR page. Specifically, with any version of Firefox after v9; the fields are incredibly small. (See http://imgur.com/KEdYk for what it looks like). I have removed gtk-kde4, and even created a vanilla user with a brand-new home directory, and this other user profile experiences the same problem. edit: In a fresh install of GNOME 3, the AUR page displays correctly. Also displays correctly if I revert to FF v9
This problem doesn't occur in Chromium, so I thought it was a FF issue, however, I've not heard of anybody else with this same problem... So I'm a little stumped. I filed a bug report a while back, (https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/28613 ), but it has been closed. Any help in diagnosing and/or fixing this issue would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks!

That is sounding quite strange.  I've had display issues similar to yours with login fields and search fields that are usually at the top of a we page appearing distorted and on top of each other.  Another prevalent problem that I noticed on YouTube was that text I enter into any field doesn't show up, but it is entered and I can search.  I'm running xfce so I don't know what to say.  Haven't had the problem in gnome, though I really don't like gnome 3 for its lack of what of what I considered organizational hierarchy.  (though I am against hierarchies of other sorts),  Ive also found that clearing the Firefox cache can solve some of these problems.

  • Why are previous patches not included in major releases ?

I will be attempting to raise a TAR for this but I think it is sufficiently serious to also raise in public.
In forms 10.1.0.2 I am encountering a serious intermittent problem which EXACTLY matches the symptoms of Bug 3018714.
Alledgedly it is fixed by 6i patchset 17
    ... and by 9.0.2.3 patch 3882050
    ... and by 9.0.4 patchset 1
And now the bug has reappeared in the next major release.
Why keep producing major releases which bring back previous bugs ?
Doing it once is bad enough, but how can 3 times be acceptable ?
Also the bug has not been revised for nearly a year and there is no mention of the latest release.
Would be nice to hear from Grant on this one.

Are you saying the Sun JRE and Jinit are now the same ? Or are you saying we should no longer use Jinitiator. Do sun have a JRE which is preferable to the jinit which comes with 10gr2 ?
    kndwds
We started web deployment on 6i then went to 10g then 10gR2 and saw the problem in each of those versions.
As for progress on the TAR. Guess what. They want a test case based on the scott/tiger schema. What a surprise ! Not very helpful for a problem which appears seemingly at random and cannot be reproduced at will. Don't they realise that real applications are far more complicated than anything mr Scott ever dreamed of.

  • Safari with an iBook G4 (1.33Ghz)?

Hello Everyone, What is the best version of Safari to use with an iBook G4 (1.33Ghz)? Currently has 512mb RAM and upgrading to a total of 1.5. Many thanks in advance.

Pommeg I'm really sorry to hear all this. Of course like everybody on these forums I'm just another Mac user albeit some are more knowledgeable technically than others. I've been using Macs since the early nineties, never used a PC. My suggestion re WebKIt was because having seen on the Nordkril pages someone say it was the way to go with PPC, the webpage where it is sited contains comments up to December 2013. So I reckoned that it was still at least unofficially  found good by some users, which is why I gave it a try and found it snappy myself. Regarding the Leopard I wouldn't have downloaded it with those caveats printed and would have warned you had I known they were there.
There's no official version of this Webkit as it stopped being run in 2009 with the demise of the Safari 4 to which it applied. The questions you are being asked would have been something you would have been able to take up with them when it was extant; the whole point of a WebKit was it was an ongoing try-out with dialogue between the ordinary users reporting back discovered bugs, and the Safari developers. It was a stage towards the provision of a more uptodate browser. My only decision to try it out was because looking for the best browser for these old iBooks has been a recurring problem the older they get. I surmised that if this webkit was being recently still recommended by some, perhaps it therefore had reached a stage of useability when last updated that meant it could still be worth using in our circumstances now. But when things go wrong as is happening with your Leopard, there's nothing I could suggest other than try a software update.
In truth as K Shaffer has indicated maybe it's TenFourFox is the best current browser for us, but as I have mentioned I couldn't get the Flash workaround to work in it; and on a personal quirky note I just don't like Firefox and its variants. A personal thing to do with that there's no toggle key shortcut for hiding the navigation toolbar, and that has always irritated me. Browser use is subjective.
I'd go with iCab, that way you could use the Flash workaround and be certain of the browser being kept securely updated. There is the matter of $20 though (which gives you a registration number you can use again whenever you put iCab on another machine) but you can try it out as has been suggested, free; there's a kind of see-through advert hovers on and off occasionally to remind you to pay if you want to use it properly.
Again my apologies for what of your hassle is down to my advice.
