6500 microsd problem?

Hi!
I have microSD nokia card in my 6500 Slide phone 256mb..
The card seems to be inserted correctly..
But how do I use the card? When I goto camera settings I change the place to save the photos/videos to the card, but when I go back to the camera it always goes to phone memory?? How do I use the microSD??? Help??

NONAME is your memory card, if it is only showing intermittently, then it could be a simple software fault which might be cured by a software update so you could try that, but it is more likely to be a hardware issue with the card or with the phone's card reader, in which case taking the phone to a Nokia service point.
There was some time ago a fault with the memory cards on the 6500 Slide caused by the battery cover not making contact with the circuit board (the phone musst be confirmed closed for the card to work), so it is possible that you have been sold one of these early models, but this issue can be fixed under warranty.

6500 connection problems

Basically ive broken my screena need to get all my contacts off onto ovi...
Ive connected everything and im through to the home page of the ovi suite however when i get to the home page where it displays the phone in the bottom left hand courner it just says "setting up" with a spinning wheel next to it.
I believe it should "sync all" or something of the sort.
Now this could be as simple as i need to press something on the screen of the phone to continue but obviously i cant see this as its broken completly.
Hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction to sort out this probs

Hello, this is also a 6500 connection problem but of a different sort. Up to now, 11 August, never any problem. Then today I cannot connect my 6500 to the PC Suite as usual. I three times re-installed PC Suite Version 7.1.180.194 but each time 'Select the Connection Type' screen is blanked out.... I have also tried re-installing the latest driver but to no avail. I suspect you have updated PC Suite but in so doing have made it in some way incompatible with 6500 which is not a current model. Maybe someone at Nokia can respond? Many thanks!

6500 Slide Problems

Hello,
I brought a Nokia 6500 Slide about a month ago, about a week ago all the buttons stopped working except for the End Call (red button), so i could only turn it on and off.
Couple days ago they started to work again, but then i came across another problem. Now everytime i switch the phone on if works fine for a couple seconds then resets to the starting screen and switches itself off.
The software version is v8.3
Any help on this please ?

Probably the best advice ever given to me about this particular model phone (Nokia 6500) was from a tech support guy, who i might add was very patient with a new user (yes new, not novice - don't assume i know nothing about phones) he spoke clearly and slowly these words.
"Ok sir, please give me another number i can contact you on"
- so i gave him the number of my girlfriends phone -
-30 seconds later he calls back on the other number -
"Ok now go ahead and power down (turn off) your phone and allow at least 30 seconds for the power down to finish, now please go ahead and remove the back plate of your phone, now remove your battery and wait a further one minute while we discuss some other features you mentioned earlier" - so he was giving the phone time to go completely dead with no power (battery removed) and kept chatting to me about other features on the phone, while i presume he kept one eye on the clock- after about 3-4 minutes of discussing some other features on the phone, he said "Now go ahead and reassemble the phone, by putting the battery back in and replacing the back plate" -after i had done all this he said- "Now please turn the phone back on and wait at least 2 minutes before touching any other keys" -again he kept me talking about other features on the phone, whilst maintaining one eye on the clock- at the end of it all- "Please reset all your ringtones and personal settings the way you would like them to be" -again he waited on the line while i did this-"Now please if you have any other problems like this, please call us back" and to this day, i have not called them back.
Listen carefully to what a tech support guy says, follow his/her instructions to the letter and you too can have a trouble free Nokia 6500 like me.
Occasionally when my phone does this default reset - i feel as though it might be a problem with the interface between the mico SD card and the phone's ability to communicate between the 2. So a simple hard reset as described above almost always fixes the problem. Nokia's source coding would be older then most people who come on these forums - and have no doubt in saying that there may be some slight glitches in this particular release ... but a simple hard reset almost always fixes this particular problem.
Some programs that run devices are almost mechanical and if they miss a step, have almost no way of reverting back to the previous step, so resetting the phone will take us back to the first step and allow the phone to work it's way through it's own process until the glitch becomes evident again.

Nokia 3110 microSD problem

Hi i have a problem with my nokia 3110 classic.
I have a microSD card that worked just fine for 3 days after that i turned my phone off and when i wanted to start it i get the nokia logo the menu appears and then restarts again this is does for 5 times then the phone is off again. I just can't start my phone now. I tried diferent microSD cards and the same problem.
What could i do ?
my microSD is Kinsgton 1G but as i said the problem is the same with different microSD's.
If i take out my microSD the phone starts ok. And it worked for 3 days like. It is possible to have a virus or something ? And another thing how can i rewrite my software ( i have the latest version instaled but mabye a software rewrite will make the phone work ok)

I also have this problem. Phones4u denied they sold any phone with a generic fault. From this forum it seems they are definately wrong.
I just can't be bothered to go into a care centre to get a line a lies about how I am doing something wrong. They said I needed a nokia card. I got one and it still did not work. They suck.
It is not on when you invest 60 pounds in a phone that has these functions and they turn out not to work. They should automatically refund you if a forum has been shown to demonstrate a fault is common.
I will not be buying nokia again. The ringer is also very quiet and does not wake me when someone calls. My cheap nokia had a deafening ring. They concentrate on all these frills and miss the basics.
I hope the iPhone torpedos them out of the water!

Catalyst 6500 Module problems

We are almost a week dealing with a very instable 6500.
What we see is that modules are undergoing a soft reset. When this reset fails the module has a faulty status. Resetting the module mostly solves the problem. But in some cases more then one module has this problem. Even the supervisor module is undergoing the same soft reset some time.
Here are the messages that appear in the logging.

What has been done:
Since module 5 always reboots first, this card had been replaced. Then we replaced the supervisor. Since still cards where rebooting we replaced the entire chassis. The power modules have also been replaced.
Anyone seen this problem before?

Nokia 6500 call problem

Hello.
I have owned a Nokia 6500 slide on the 3 network for just over a year now, it's a decent phone and I've had very few problems with it until recently. The current problem is that when I make or receive a call, there is no audio/volume. Once the call begins to ring or I answer, and it's connected, there is no volume. However, if I change it to loudspeaker, it can be heard perfectly normally as if it were played through loudspeaker (obviously). So in short, the "handset" option of the call is muted. I have checked the obvious thing such as settings and makings sure the call volume was high enough, but there is just no sound at all when on the handset setting of a call. To make a personal call I have to make it in loudspeaker and everyone can hear.
I also had a problem wiht my contacts, and I downloaded the latest firmware and it fixed that problem. However, the loudspeaker call problem has remained. Usual searching hasn't sufficed, I appear to be the only one wiht this problem. Hopefully somebody can help me out here.

Take it to the nearest Nokia Care Point. Probably your speaker is damaged.

More 6500 network problems

I have read the last forum on the above but none of the solutions has fixed my problem. That forum topic is shown as completed so I am re-starting the issue.
I reconfigured our Officejet 6500 printer from a USB connection on one computer to a Network system servicing a second computer a couple of weeks ago. Printer was purchased July 2010. Main computer runs XP.
I have been able to print from both computers ok through the network with the test mesage showing an IP address as 192.168.1.5
However, when I tried to use HP solution centre to scan a document to the computers today, I get the message "HP Officejet 6500 E709a series disconnected"
I also cannot scan from the printer keyboard.
Have tried disconnecting cables, turning the printer off etc but no help. I can print test pages from both my networked computers ok
Printer is connected directly to the router along with the two computers.
Can anyone help?

How long is your WEP key? Does the key only contain numbers and the letters A through F?
Also, do you know if your wireless-router's WEP index is set to 1? From the front panel wireless setup wizard, the Officejet 6500 only supports WEP index 1.

6500 LLDP problems

After enabling LLDP on our central 6500, we're able to use the CLI to show lldp neighbors. Unfortunately, the switch does not divulge this information over SNMP. I can walk other other MIB data in the switch, but LLDP results in NOSUCHOBJECT. Are there additional steps needed for this LLDP neighbor information to be passed over the nework? Let me know if you need additional information.

HI,I've been encountering problems with my 6500 Classic since my 1st day of buying approx 2 mos ago,I wonder if there is a deffect in my unit or this is problem every 6500 classic users have to suffer,my problems are as follows:
1.The unit get heated easily over 1 short conversation or 2- 3 sms, so I get migrain using it when it get heated like
that.
2.I can't take clear pictures with the 2MP camera, while I
didn't encounter the same problem when I used my 7610,
which was of lower MP.The picture taken with this 6500
classic is a bit red on the back ground.
3.It goes off suddenly, and on again right away, so my
battery bar can suddenly drop.
4.Whenever there's a call in, and I answer it, sometimes
there isn't sound until I put on the loudspeaker, that's
really annoying, because it's getting more & more often.
Please help.......

6500 contacts problem

Hello Everyone,
I've got a problem with my Nokia 6500 Classic Contact list. The problem is i can't see any on my phone. So my List with Names is just empty.
However when I plug in my phone into the computer, and Nokia Phone Browser appears, and i look into the contacts map, I see all my contacts standing right into the correct folder. (Nokia Phone Browser\Nokia 6500c\Contacts). For some reason he won't show them on my phone. This is really annoying because i can;t call anyone because i don;t have their numbers with me when i;m from home.
What i've done so far:
Re-install Nokia PC suite and all its components
Reset the phone to factory settings.
Synchronize with PC suite synchronizer
All without succes.
Can someone help me please?

Nokia 6500 slide problem after updated to firmware...

Hi, I have recently updated my nokia 6500 slide with the latest firmware version 9.40. I realise that after the upgrade, my phone encounters problem reading the SD memory card. It happens intermittently, sometimes you see, sometimes you don't. Initially I thought it was due to my memory card but after replacing it with a new one, problem still occurs.

It looks like something on your system caused the updater to crash.
Unfortunately your only option for that model is to take it to a nokia care point for repair. Tere's nothing else that you can do for it.

Nokia 6500 slide problem

My 6500 slide keeps changing the theme and ringtone by itself. I changed the micro sd card recently could this somehow be the problem?
Any help appreciated.

The reason for this as I learnt last week is a small switch which is operated by placing the back cover on the phone. Its a 'safety' feature apparently. If you have a picture or ringtone set from the memoery card relese the back. (you will notice it reverts everything back to factory settings. Now do the same but make sure the tone and pic that you use is stored to the phone memory not your card.....presto!! it stays on and dosent revert. People around the globe think its a software bug when actually its not. It prevents you losing data from your memory card. I am currently trying to find out if this feature can be disabled. Its stupid, I know!!!!!

I'm having a problem accessing files on my micro SD card.
It seems that when the back cover is opened it deactivates the micro SD by removing pressure on a tiny switch next to the micro SD slot.
My problem, I think, is that my 6500 Slide's back cover doesn't close as tightly as it should that when I'm playing music from the micro SD, the music gets cut off because of the movement of the back cover.
Music from the phone's memory can be played without interruption. Music from the micro SD card will play uninterruptedly if I keep some pressure on the back cover.
Please help.

HP Officejet 6500 Installing Problems Windows 7

Hello,
When I triy to install the HP Officejet 6500 on my Windows & desktop, I get a error that setting up te printer failed.
This happens after I select the printer (wired) en select the printer that is found from the list. After that he try's to install it. After 10 seconds I get the Error. I can only select TRY AGAIN or NEXT to install Software. When I pressed Next, he installs the Printer and places an shortcut on my Desktop called "Add Printer". When I use this, I do the same steps as Above, but still I get the same error.
Can anybody help? Already disabled the firewall.

OK, make sure that all your firewalls are disabled for the installation process (Windows and your security system's).
If you just cannot get it to work still, do an L3 uninstall. Look for \util\ccc\uninstall_l3.bat on your printer's install CD and run it. This will strip the software from your system very thoroughly. Then install the software from here.
