6700 Classic - 50 Contact limit in groups - any wo...

Hi,
When I try to add more than 50 contacts to a group I get the following message "Only 50 Members are allowed in a group".  This is a major inconvienience as I have various sports membership lists in excess of 50 contacts and I have to create many diferent groups to send messages etc...
Is there any s/w workaround I can apply to correct this or is there a planned firmware upgrade planned?  My current s/w as follows;
Nokia 6700 Classic
RM-470
Firmaware 7.60

As I have understood this is end user forum i.e Nokia not commenting that kind of things you are asking. Some thoughts, have you looked for any Java app to solve this f.ex from Ovi Store or GetJar? Not sure if such app exists or not as I dont use groups myself. Another possibility could be to use the Pc Suite , but then you would need a Pc which is a limiting factor.

  • Outlook distributionlist contact limit

    Hi all,
Today I received an incident from a client that she is unable to manage an distributionlist she just had added within Outlook 2010 SP1 with Backend Exchange 2010 SP2 RU7.
When you try to open the DL you get the error "cannot open this item". But you can still send an email message to the group by chosing "create an new email to this contact". When perform that action and choose to expand the list, that's
also happening telling you that there are 130 contacts in the group.
So, the question is why can't Outlook open this items for you and able to manage this?
After searching I found the article below stating that this is regarding the 8KB property size within Exchange itself. I am correct on this or is this something with MAPI RPC itself.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238569/en-us
Why I am saying this, is because from OWA you are still able to open the same problem DL and manage this.
When I removed a few members I was able to open the DL again from Outlook. Adding just 1 contact to the list (total of 128) and the problem is there again. And not getting an error message that the limit was reached.
As a Exchange support engineer can IT Pro explain the difference to me between Outlook (MAPI RPF) and OWA (HTTP Engine)
    Thank you...

  • Nokia 6700 - Issue with Contacts Settings

I just got the Nokia phone today and transferred the numbers across via my SIM card. Previously all my contacts were shown with the first name first. Only the first contact on my phone is like this now, the rest are last name first. I've tried changing this through the settings options but it doesn't do anything.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

    Dear Hazel,
Contact names on the phone memory has two fields i.e. Last name & First name. Contacts in the SIM has only one field and by default if you copy the contacts from SIM to Phone, names will be copied into the Last Name field on the Phone memory.

  • How can I move an existing contact to a group in iPad Contacts?

I have a years worth of contact information stored before the last update which added the Group option, this is great for new contacts being added but I can see no way to move the existing contact from All Contacts to Customer etc. short of re-typing 400 contacts . .
    Any ideas?

    Hey Jerry,
I've got the same question.  I've figured out a very un-elegant way (because I don't think that Apple has a way to do this with IOS) to "move" existing contacts from either 1) your iPad's Contacts "All Contacts" list to an existing Group, or 2) to add it from a Contacts list on another computer:
    1) If you haven't already made a new Group, you may need to figure out how to do that ( I don't).
If you already have an existing Group (from syschronizing with your iMac for example), but wish to "move" a Contact over into that Group, then you'll have to take that Contact file (it was probably under "All Contacts"), and "Share" it with the same iPad that you're using.  First, you'll have to go to the already existing Group, and hit the "+" sign on the lower left panel.  When the new blank Contact page opens up, merely type in the Last name of the contact which you wish to be in this Group.  Hit the "Done" button.  Next, go into "All Contacts", find the Contact that you wish to move into the desired Group.  When you are looking at the opened Contact File, you will see three active links (buttons) at the bottom: "Send Message", "Share Contact", and "Edit".  Select Share Contact.  You then either Email or Message yourself at the iPad's email address.  Go to Mail or Messages (depending upon which you chose to Share the .vcf file), open the recently received email/message, and touch the icon for the "attached" file.  At the bottom of the Contacts window that just opened up you will see "Create New Contact" and "Add to Existing Contact".  Choose the "Add" option, then navigate to the desired Group, and then the file Contact file (having only what you initially filled in, such as the last name, or whatever you used to initialize the Contact within the Group). Voila!  Although it won't have looked like anything happened, you can close the email message, and go investigate within the desired Group to see that your contact file has indeed been added to the Group.
Whew! That was pretty convoluted.  Once you've done it, you'll get it.  Once you get it you'll probably wonder out loud: "Why hasn't Apple made this simpler...or it it has, why haven't they let us in on the secret?????"
    Cheers.

  • How do I move a contact or contacts from one group to another group?

How do I move contacts from one group to another group on my iPhone?

    Hi ,
In exchange you cannot have the same email address for multiple recipients .
First and Best way is  to remove the email address from the old user account and add the same smtp address to the new user who is going to take his place.
Second option would be forwarding all the emails from old user account to new user account when an email was triggered to the email address ([email protected]) .on this case there is no need to remove or delete the email address from the old user account
and also email address ([email protected]) will still reside on the old user account .
If i am at your place i will choose the first option and i agree with DJ

  • How can I add a contact to a group on my iPad Air or IPhone 6?

I'm away from my computer for a while and was trying to add a contact to a group on my iPad/iPhone. I don't want to download another app to handle this simple task. All my mobile devices are up-to-date and have plenty of memory. I tried logging into iCloud on a non-Safari browser but the contact list wouldn't download so I could work on it. Did I miss a link somewhere inside of the Contact edit where I could just add to a group? Thanks for any help you can give me.

You are not doing anything wrong. The feature that you need is totally lacking in the built in Mail app on the iPad.
There are a couple of third party mail apps that will let you do this ... MailShot and Group Email with Attachments. You can check them out in the App Store.

  • How can I add a contact to a group on my iPhone?

How do I add a contact to an existing group on my iPhone?

Should not be a problem. If you have set up your
groups in Address Book, they will sync over to your
iPhone. If you view All Contacts, you should have a
tab in the upper left corner which shows Groups. You
hit that, it takes you back to your Group List. Pick
the Group you want to view and this takes you to a
list of contacts within that group. Then in the
upper right corner hit the + key and add your
contact. When you sync back up, your contact should
appear in your Address Book under all Contacts and
    under the assigned group.
    Hope this helps.
      Mac
    OS X (10.4.10)
      Mac OS X (10.4.10)
This only solves half the problem. If you have created a NEW contact from a Google Map lookup, you cannot assign it to a group on the iPhone. You have to wait until you sync back up with Address Book, assign that contact to a group, then sync again. I have pulled a lot of new contacts through the Google Map function (which is amazing BTW) but I have yet to find a way to assign the new contact to a group. Any ideas?

  • In address book on BB i don't view contacts in a group of contacts

    I've this problem:
In my address book on the BB, i don't view contacts in a group of contacts.
I've added a group of contact in Outlook 2007 with two contacts inside. On the BB i've seen the group of contact but no the contacts inside. I have a BES server 5.0.3 with Exchange 2007.
    Any solutions?
    Thanks.
    Ema.

The issue has nothing to do with your MacBook Pro. You are using a different version of OS X.
If you are using Apple's Mail application, it will search both previous contacts and the address book as you type the send address.

  • Free Navigation for Nokia 6700 Classic

    Hi everyone,
I notice the recent Nokia announcement that navigation is now free on all it's S60 based phones.
However, I just purchased a new Nokia 6700 Classic (Which has built in A-GPS, Nokia Maps pre-loaded & full offline Australia maps), but it runs S40 Software.
At the moment it appears Nokia still wants to charge me for turn-by-turn voice navigation. It seems a little unfair that the free navigation will only be offered on the S60 handsets when all Nokia have to do is send a free license code to S40 maps users to enable us to do the same.
I'm currently using 'We-Travel' on my Nokia 6700 which is a free 'Offline' GPS application. I'd much prefer to use Nokia's own maps software for navigation, but it's too expensive.
Does Nokia have any intention of making the free navigation available on the 6700 classic, or will users of non-S60 handsets still have to pay for this function?
    Thanks all.

  • How To Add New Contact To a Group Using iPhone

I use a Business and Personal Group. When I add a new contact using my iPhone, there is no way I can assign it to a Group. Then when I sync, the new contact shows only in Group "All". Further, in Address Book you cannot tell which contacts are not in a Group. I can see the total number of contacts in Group All, and the total in Group Personal, and the total in Group Business, so I can tell the sum of Personal and Business is less than the number in All. But I cannot tell which contacts are in All and not assigned to either Business or Personal. This makes it difficult to then locate the contact on my iPhone (I tend to always look in the appropriate Group).
So how can I either a) assign a new contact to a Group using my iPhone or b) identify in Address Book which contacts are not assigned to any Group?

    a) In Phone, Contacts, enter the group you want, THEN add the new contact (you can't add a new contact to a group from Recents, but you can add a number to an existing contact, which will remain in its original group).
    b) In Address Book, select group All, then click File, Export Group vCard... and view the exported file with your favorite text file viewing method (TextEdit, cat | more, vi, etc.); look for entries without a CATEGORIES: line.
Unchecking Hide Extension and changing it from .vcf to .txt might allow you to open it easier in TextEdit; I opened Terminal and used "cat Documents/vCards.vcf | grep : | more" to view them ("grep :" filters out the photos).
(Note to others: The above procedure is for Mac OS; Windows users could probably export their Outlook Address Book and use Notepad to view it.)

  • Change home page on 6700 classic browser

I have an unlocked 6700 classic. I can't figure out where to change the default home page for the Web browser (currently the Ovi home page). Any help? Thank you.

    Sure!
Menu - Settings - Configuration - Personal config. sett. - options - select "Add new" - select "Web".
At this point, the only option you should change is the "Homepage" - simply make this what you want your new homepage to be when you open the web browser.
Then save this/go back to the list of personally configured accounts, you will see one called "My web" which is what you just created, select "options - activate".
    This should work for you...

  • My ipod classic 5th generation is not playing any kind of audio. i tried resetting it and i used multiple speakers/ear buds. nothing worked. do you have any other suggestions?

My ipod classic (5th generation) is not playing any audio. when i play a song the little picture of the album cover comes up and the seconds clock and the blue line come up and change/move, but there is no sound. i have tried multiple speakers/ear buds and i have tried to reset it but notheing worked.
    What should i do?

Assuming that you actually have the volume turned up (you don't say that you have, after all), make sure that the Volume Limit is not turned all the way down.
Look in the Settings/Volume Limit menu. The small arrow controls the volume as well.
