7.4 HA-SKU with N+1 Design

Hello all,
I was just reviewing the config guide for 7.3 and HA-SSO and then I found out that with 7.4 it allows for an N+1 scenario.

So my understanding of this is that instead of having say 3 controllers, and each one having a HA-SKU physically attached to it via the Redundancy Port (for a total of 6 WLC), that I can now save some money, and have 3 controllers, and a single HA-SKU controller in place to provide HA redundancy for each (one at a time).
This obviously is no longer using the RP port, and I'm having some trouble finding a config guide for this new 7.4 feature.
Does anyone know the requirements/limitations of how to set this up? Or know a link that I can read up on.
I'm assuming that a base requirement is that all of the active controllers need to be identical config wise and software/hardware (minus IP address etc.).

When you do N+1 with v7.4 you lose the ability to do AP SSO (comes in a later release) and you also will never get the ability to do Client SSO (that's the current stance anyway).
You configure your "N" controllers however you want, and you also have to manually configure the "+1" to exhibit whatever config you want too. The +1 will accept APs up to its hardware limit (500 for 5508 / 1000 for WiSM2 / 6000 for 8510) and it will work just like any other WLC, but it will start nagging you to fix your network after 90 days of an AP being associated.

Populate a PDF done with Adobe Livecycle Designer

I have a pdf from an institution and I have been asked to populate it directly with data saved in an excel file. I have found that the pdf was done with adobe livecycle designer and with that program I can see the name of the fields in the form.

I have thought to use a VB macro in the excel file to populate the pdf. I have been searching on Internet but by now, I am only able to read the values of the fields, but I can't change them. I know that the code below doesn't work with XFA Forms, but I have read a lot of documentation and I can't find anything else.

You might want to instead use an XML schema to map cells in your Excel spreadsheet to fields in your form. Then you would just export the XML data from your spreadsheet and import it into your form to populate the fields.
That should get you started. Refer to Excel and LiveCycle Designer documentation for further details.

Collaborating with a Graphic Designer

Hello,
I am going to be working on a new website for my employer and
I was
hoping some of the web professionals could give me some
advice.
I did our previous website by myself using Dreamweaver 4 and
Fireworks
4. When creating the visual look of the old site, I used
Fireworks to
create a mock-up of the way I wanted the page to look. I then
used
Dreamweaver to create a web page that duplicated the mockup.
Any fancy
graphic images (such as the masthead) were sliced up using
Fireworks and
imported as an HTML table into Dreamweaver. This worked
pretty well for
me while working solo.
However, for this new website I will be working with a
graphic designer.
What is the best way to take the graphic design that she
produces and
translate it into HTML+CSS in Dreamweaver? Can I use a
process similar
to what I used while solo? (i.e. let the designer create a
mockup in a
graphic program and then try to duplicate it in Dreamweaver
as best I
can with HTML and importing graphics as needed.) Or is there
a better way?

knowledgable about

Perhaps I should correct my sentence, that in my opinion
(once I was a
graphic designer) photoshop and illustrator was a great tool
for me both
to create web images for the web and for print design. The
save for web
dialog box has helped me a lot for optimizing the web images.
I also used firework for creating websites. But It seems for
me that
photoshop and illustrator is very perfect for me to create
artwork both
for the web and print design. No matter how complicated the
job, the two
programs were indeed very helpful for me.
I'm not saying that fireworks is bad for creating web images.
Since this
program is only for the web design (I really think so).
Remember that
Will's designer is only familiar with both program. I think
it would be
wise for his designer to stick with his tool rather than
learning a new
tool.
But. for years, even though I had fireworks, Photoshop and
Illustrator I
choose to stick with both program to works. So user friendly,
and both
program share the same interface.
I don't think that Illustrator is mainly for vector-based
application,
mobile developer also use its capability for creating svg
images, and
also for animation. And photoshop is not only for creating
bitmap, it
also often use for beautifying video and 3D animation.
Whatever it is, choose what you like. As long as you are
comfortable
with it.

Some employees designations are not matching with their actual designation

Hi All,
While downloading to excel sheet some employees designations are not matching with their actual designations maintained in infotye 0001.
Designations should match with infotype 0001.
How to rectifty this issue.

Looks like you are dowloading the value from a field which does not contain the value you see in the infotype screen
In infotypr 0001 place your cursor in the designation field.
Press F1
See the name of the field & the table.
Have a look at the table using se16 and confirm what you see in the field is what you see in the infotype screen.
If it is same see in your code if you are using correct field.
If it is not the same trace in which table and field the value is stored and code your program to download from there.
Check in Tables HRP1000 and PA0001 and you should get your values

Issue with cisco ONS 15310. Slot with Ethernet ports, designed for bridging.

Hi, guys. I’ve got an issue with cisco ONS 15310 sdh optical network. I’ve got a special slot with Ethernet ports, designed for bridging. Assume, we’ve got to multiplexers, named A and B with ports A0 and B0 respectively. The ios console of these slots says, the configuration is as follows:
no ip address set on these ports
Ports are administratively up
Auto mdix
Bridge groups are the same on these ports.
Dot1q tunnel.
I’m trying to monitor a device with an ip-address connected to port B0. It answers ping if I connect the notebook directly to a device. But if I connect the notebook to port A0 and ping the device pluged in port B0 through the optical network, it doesn’t answer. I tried connections with straight and cross cable.
Guys, who set the network said, it should work as a point to point bridge with no extra configuration. But it doesn’t. I used wireshark sniffer to lookup what’s happening on port A0. All I see is cdp-s from port A0 and self-announcements of the notebook.
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Creating model with Control and Design LV2009

Hello,
I'm trying to make a PI control model with Control and Design in labview 2009. I'm tyring to create the following transferfunction:
D(z)=Kp+((Kp*Ki)/(1-z^-1))
But labview adds by itself an extra z^-1 in the Numerator
See the attachment what I have tried. I first want to create 1+(1/(1-z^-1)). What I'm I doing wrong ?

The two expressions "1+(1/(1-z^-1))" and "(2-z^-1)/(1-z^-1)" are equivalent to one another. They just have the terms rearranged. Since LabVIEW expresses a transfer function as a numerator and denominator, it is drawing the function as "(2-z^-1)/(1-z^-1)". You aren't doing anything wrong.

Help with Package Label Design

Hi, I work for a one of the fortune 500 company as a helpdesk. Last month my company came out with a go green logo and when I saw I decide to create one. I showed the logo to my Director and my director forwarded the design to the Marketing department. They really like the design, but they couldn't use it because they already pay a design company for that logo and the logo were already print on the market. What happen next, is that they send me an email Yesterday asking me if I'm interest in getting an interview for a packaging designer job and the interview is going to be for next month. Now, I have no experience with packaging, label and printing and they know that, but I will like to surprise the with couple of design. I would like to know what software do I need to use from design to printing and if there is any good website with good tutorials. Thanks

They probably liked your style ( on the green logo ) and want to incorporate it into their packaging. You should be honest and tell them you do not have any experience. They'll probably bring you in at "entry level" so they can groom you to their corporate culture. You'll probably be working under a senior designer and will probably spend a few months learning how things are done. I'd imagine you'll need some basic knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop, if not some intermediate level capabilities with both programs.
Now, if you want to impress them, find a current package the company had produced in the last few years. Pull it apart and get it to lie flat. Re-create the entire piece using Illustrator. This will include a spot layer with dies. Focus on improving the design and look of the piece, but make sure you do not copy what has already been done. Come up with something original and incorporate your version of the "green" logo. It does not have to be anything out-of-sight, but shows you know the company, you know how to improve the existing packaging out there, and you'll show initiate. They'll probably never use it ( like your "green" logo, but will get you the job ).
This will take you some time. I do not know of any web tutorials, but both Illustrator and Photoshop come with a few. You could also go to a local bookstore and take alook at what they have in their "graphic design" section. Some books come with a CD that has some templates and files you can take a look at.
There must be a void they're looking to fill, otherwise you'd never get the interview. Don't get too stressed out trying to impress them. They're already impressed. But, if you "claim" to know it all in software, you'll be doing yourself a huge injustice. Talent does not come in a box. Sounds like they're willing to get you started, so go for it.

Help with Print Layout Designer

I'm not sure if I should post this here or not, I already posted it in the Business One Forum. Moderator(s) if this is not the proper place please delete it and let me know that it is not the appropriate venue.
I need some help with Print Layout Designer. I am running 2005A SP01, and my customer wants a modification to the Sales Backorder Report. They want to add the column "In Stock" to both the report as displayed on the screen and the printed document. The report rendered to the screen has the In Stock, but it is not checked as visible. I check it and In Stock shows up as designed. The part I am having problems with is the printed document. I opened the PLD from the Backorder Report, and saved it under a different name. I resized some of the columns in the repetitive area (header and data) to make room for the In Stock column. I CAN add the text field Instock as free text and enter "In Stock" as the content. I looked at the "backorder" column in the PLD, and it is a text field with the source System Variable and the variable is 109. I would assume that all I need to do in my added column is to set the source to System Variable and enter the variable number. That is the problem; I can't find the variable number for that column. I looked on the report rendered to the screen with system information on and the variable is "3 #000027825,OnHand". I looked at the Back Order column of the report rendered to the screen and the variable is "3 #000028725,OpenCreQty". I found a spreadsheet that is supposed to contain a list of system variables for 2007A, but the document type for this report is BRDR and that document type does not appear in the list of document types in that spreadsheet. I looked for a similar spreadsheet for 2005A SP01 but didn't find one. I DID find a document "How To Customize Printing Templates with the Print Layout Designer". According to that document, I should be able to get the system variable from the report rendered to the screen with System Information turned on. Can anyone help?

I haven't dealt with this before so I can't be certain, but here are my thoughts.
The Backordered Qty is probably a calculated field, so that's why it's a system variable. The In Stock is a defined field, so you probably can use the file and field number, OITM, OnHand. I would look at maybe the stock number or description to see how those are setup on the form instead of the backordered qty field.

10.5.8 with latest garageband 5.1 with MBOX 1. On Nov 4.09 I did a software update, now i get no output volume or input volume to the computer itself. I get it from head phones from my mbox, but not to the computer. Before the software update It worked great. I've tried upgrading software through digidesign .com, but they dont seem to have one for what i need. any way to get my old garage band back? go from 5.1 to earlier? Or maybe it was the upgrade to 10.5.8. update? Can i go back in time lol?
Any help would be appreciated

LaCie doesnt make ANYTHING. It contains a Seagate 3.5" 5400RPM HD.
Check the HD on another computer, if nothing, your SATA bridge is fried, or the HD (very unlikely since its a Seagate inside)
Youd have to crack open the HD, remove the SATA bridge cart thats plugged into the HD and put the HD into an enclosure or a HD dock to get the data
those external HD use a 50 cent SATA bridge famous for failing. The curse of all the good HD externals is the junk 3rd party SATA bridges attached to them that crash and burn.

First check whether you have change authorizations for WAD, check you user name is added in the role for web templates and also check the authorizations.
then in the web template in the menu bar go to view option ,select web items and properties , so that you can find them in the left hand side, then replace the chart item with the table and assign the query to the table.
