Hello Experts,
Currenty, I am a Certified SAP B1 Implementation Consultant ( 2007 Version) with good knoweldge with 8.8 as well. I went through the class room training materials for 8.8 . I am looking for giveup 8.8 Appilication Associate and Development Associate Exams soon.
As this would be my first attempt for Development associate i am looking for advise on how to get prepared from you so that i can pass the exam. ( Will E-Learning and Classroom materials be enough to pass the exam?)
How tough is 8.8 Application Associate exam when compared with 2007 Version?

First , I have been with Mac for many years ( 14 to be exact ) I do have some knowledge and understanding of Apple product .

''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer

SD Process Design for Plantation industry - need advise
Hi all experts,
I am implementing for a crude palm oil plantation company, in which the general flow of the sales process from Estate to the Milling Plant is as below:
Sales Order --> Delivery Order* --> PGI --> Billing*
Sales Order: The fresh fruit bunches (FFB) is harvested and then the amount required by the Buyer is fulfilled via creation of a sales order.
Delivery Order: At this stage, it will interface with the Weighbridge system to carry out the recording of delivery quantity. Truck without the FFB is weighed once at entrance of the estate, and truck with FFB is weighed at exit at estate.
PGI: Goods Issue is carried out with the recording of the actual quantity from the weighbridge interface back to SAP.
Billing: The billing doc is created based on PGI quantity done.
This looks pretty straightforward, but there are few concerns from the above process as highlighted in the asterisk (*) section:
Issues:
1. During the Delivery portion, data of the Driver, name, person loading and weight loaded need to be recorded at the same time to carry out the incentive payment to the drivers (both internal and external drivers) with incentives calculated on per tonnage basis.
2. Secondly, during Billing process, the amount payable would be calculated based on the grading of the FFB + the which year the FFB is planted (i.e. different year would have different pricing per ton).
Need advise on how to make the above two issues work smoothly along with the process above.
Opinion, comments and feedbacks is much appreciated.
Thanks.The loader and driver data is integrated to PP and the HR master module is leveraged to maintain driver/loader data master and payment is made to driver via customized program with customised calculation of salary.
The FFB is handled using PP module for Production and material posted via MIGO in MM and increases stock take manually.

Oracle Procurement/Sourcing :- Need advise on an implementation design

Need advise on an implementation design
Problem Summary :-
Our client(say "X") is contracted to perform certain business functions for their client (Say"Y")
Say "X" is do sourcing (RFP,RFQ) functions till PO creation,receiving in a excel based custom application ( Not through oracle EBS) for client "Y".
So "X" is not responsible for paying for those services and "Y" pays for those receipts.
We want to implement Oracle EBS Advance procurement solution for their above functions and replace the custom application processes.
But client "X" is not accepting advance procurement solution as they("X") are not paying for the services and they don't want to fit this solution in Oracle EBS as this may cause legal issues.
Questions:-
1. Whats the best design solution for this type of scenario to fit the custom process into Oracle EBS procurement ?
2. Can we follow the sourcing implementation process(RFQ/RFP)-> PO Creation-> PO receipts-> AP Invoice matching in Oracle EBS and is there a way to nullify this transaction in Oracle so that there will not be any legal issues? May be creating credit memo/AR invoice etc...

Need advise, I have purchased compressor 4.1 to compress my movie file, particularly MKV files. Problem is, that the software freezes when trying to import the 10GB MKV. Any one that can help?
Afraid Compressor won't work with MKV. If you have access to a system running an earlier version than Mavericks, and with Perian installed you can use MPEG Streamclip or Quick Time Pro to convert to a mov.

Need Advise on Global Temporary tables or Materialized views or Views
Need advise on a plsql procedure working on.
I had 6 tables having 200,000 rows in total intially,but will get added a maximum 20,000 rows daily by a batch process.
I am writing a plsql code that takes an input ,for example customer_id, and is required to get all the data for that customer_id and
had to do some complex calculation that includes stepwise validations before giving the output.Now while doing the logic it has the get the data for that customer_id from all the tables.
There may be 100 records for that particular customer_id.
I need advise on the below options.
1.Use of global temporary tables get those 100 records and do the calculation part on that Global Temporary table.
2.Use of Views or Materialized views.
3.Using the Record Structures(like table types for those records) and then do the logic on them
As Performance is the key point here i would like pull all the data at once into memory and then do the calculations instead of hitting the database many times, this is my main idea(correct me if am wrong).Also please advise if there are any other options

RedeThe approach that many advocate for here (including myself) is to do as much in SQL as possible. So, copying to GTTs or using record structures is probably not the solution you should be after.
If you can provide the following details we may be able to steer you down the right path
1. Oracle version (SELECT * FROM V$VERSION)
2. Sample data in the form of CREATE / INSERT statements.
3. Expected output
4. Explanation of expected output (A.K.A. "business logic")
5. Use \ tags for #2 and #3. See FAQ (Link on top right side) for details.

OSX comes with Xcode. Install it and see what you think. You can write both Java and Objective-C. They both have a particular syntax that is quite different from VB. Try to use them to write a HelloWorld program and see what you think.
Apple has come a long way in integrating Java into their development environment. Still, it was designed around Objective-C, so that might be more of a "pure" MacOS X development experience. -

Four tables: Defendant, Engagement, Service, Event.
A defendant can have more than 1 engagement, but they have only one open engagement at a time.
For each engagement, they will have services and events.
These events can be just general events or events that relates to the service.

Requirement:
Report parameter: Start Date, End Date, Court_name
From chosen Court_name, list defendants who currently engage in the court.
For each defendant display
Section 1: Identifying Details: First Name, Last Name, Ethnicity, Date Joined Court
Section 2: All Services currently active that the defendant attend
Section 3: All Events that related to the service that the defendant attend
Section 4: All other events (don't have Related Service ID)
User must be able to download the whole report in spreadsheet or PDF format.
I did try to create a set of union selects (but the format is not that good, when no data return it display nothing, I would rather show some messages like "There is no associated events, rather than nothing")
and it only produces report for 1 defendant at a time.
We use Oracle APEX , so only select statement or PL/SQL Code return select statement is valid for report source.
In our place we use Jasper Report adjacent to APEX, but I have very little experience with Jasper report.
The developer who knows a lot about jasper report is too busy to help me.

Need advise : Risks of using materialized views
Hi -
I need some advise on whether using a materilzied view can help in teh folloiwng scenario.
Scenario : You have a large tables which has sy 60 million rows, This is a demand management application which accesses this data at various aggregate levels (It is not using any OLAP functionality). The worksheets that is used to display the data takes up hours to execute on.
To solve teh above scenario I created partitions on the base table say by time and the on top I created some materialized views. This gave me tremendoud gain in performance for the worksheets.
Question is : Will Materialzied views help in situations say where the user changes the data in the worksheet and another user tries to query the changes will the materialized view be able to show the changes or do I need enforce a fast refresh. all the standard option of enabling query rewrite and fast refresh are enabled. The parameter for query_rewrite_integrity is set to Trusted.
Please advise what could be teh pitfalls in managing such huge data where some of it changes infrequently.Hi Arch,

Need advise on SQL,plsql developer career and future
Hi all,
I need all your advise in making an important decisions of my career path.I work in the IT field and have about total 4-5 years of work experience involving development and testing in a product based organization.
Presently-i have got chance since last 4-5 months to work with writing PLSQL code,SQL etc on a part basis. I am very much interested to continue my career path as a PLSQL developer.
But, unfortunately -in the total of my work experience-in the past 2-3 years-i worked with a internally developed DB query language(similar to SQL) and then from last few months with plsql. But this chance to work with PLSQL has been for less time and limited scope after which i will have to work on something different.
Ii want to fully take on my career in SQL,PLSQL as Database Developer.
Please advise me if my thinking seems logical and good and if I could do it. I have planned on applying for relevant SQL,PLSQL profile jobs.
Now, My serious worry and concern is I feel that since i have worked very less with PLSQL-so am low in confidence that I feel i wont be able to answer ,or tell or not knowledgeable enough to be able to clear the technical interviews for SQL,plsql development profile which would need at least some years of experience.
I have started studying and practsing PLSQL,sql by myself for from internet. So, can you all please advise me on how could i prepare myself for hard core technical interviews of SQL,PLSQL knowledge for about 2-3 years expertise.
I know its not much possible to be competent so much in the subject by just studying and practicing.Its easy as saying to study and get it by myself-but i want to try and will put my best for it.

Need advise on a problem one of my customer have with properties going missing in Acrobat Reader
Hi there.
I need some advise on a major problem I got with acrobat reader on one of my customer's laptop.
I might not have all the informations, but I can explain about everything that I could dig out of the problem.
One of my customer asked me to find a solution to his problem as he just bought a Mac laptop and he has only been using a Windows PC before. He needed a way to be able to manipulate some texts and picture on a file (template) that he print a couple of times each week. I have built a 2 pages PDF form for him and it was a success on every computer we tried it on, except for his new Mac Laptop.
Whenever we open the file on his laptop in acrobat reader, every single properties of any forms are not readed.
Those "missing" properties include :
- Everything in the "Text field property" which include size, choice of font (I specifically took a system font available on both PC and Mac and tested it on another Mac), alignment and apearances.
- All forms, checks and buttons are resetted to a "default" appearance.
The names and ID of the forms seems to be correct and forms with the same name seems to work. (if he fills in one part, it automaticly fills some parts on the 2nd pages instead of having him rewrite the whole stuff.)
The sizes of the forms are correct too. It seems to only affect the form properties, but not the manually inserted javascript.
I tried to open another form PDF I took from the Web (gouvernment forms) and it seems like the problem is not from my file as it happen with all PDF files with forms.
I checked his Acrobat Reader version and it seems like it's up to date, as well as his java software.
Since I couldn't do a full check-up and tried to reinstall Acrobat Reader and java as I only had about 20 minutes to check things, I'm asking around before taking that kind of option into account.
If any got any idea or have already experienced that kind of strange thing, please tell me where could the problem be.
Thanks!The file is opened manually with Adobe Reader directly on the customer's computer harddrive. (Right click on the file directly stored on the desktop. "Open with ..." and then select "Adobe Reader". The program showed on the top bar is Acrobat Reader and it's hard to mix it up as it's totally different from the "Preview" program on the Mac.)
If I opened it with Preview (on the Mac), it was even LESS buggy. While some options are not accessible in Preview (mainly those who use javascripts or adobe reader/acrobat only features), the visual that aren't working in Adobe Reader were working fine. Since some basic options aren't available in Preview, my customer needs to use it in Adobe Reader.
I can garanty that the problem is related to Adobe Reader and/or maybe background process that Adobe Reader uses (for exemple : Java, C++, etc.)
I asked around to know if someone have already experienced this issue and if they have found a way to repair it without doing a full reinstall of every kind of process that Adobe Reader uses.
Also, if I'm doing a clean up for a restoration of Adobe Reader, is there any other program to reinstall then Adobe Reader and Java? -
Need advise: upgrade from 7.1.6 (Pro) to 7.4.5

In the past there have been times when upgrading led to a desperate need to downgrade. I have been very happy with 7.1.6 Pro for some time now and don't want to fix what ain't broke.
(same goes for iTunes. I have 7.1.1 and am reluctant to move away from it to current versions)
So what I'm asking is: any opinions, advise about leaving QT 7.1.6 behind; and if I do upgrade, can I jump all the way to 7.4.5, or do I need to do it incrementally?
(I am in Mac OS 10.4.11, using a Mac Pro. No immediate plans to go to Leopard.)

You don't need to update incrementally and your Pro status will remain after the upgrade. -
Need advise for processing DAQmx waveform array
Hello All,
I am using following code to continuously acquire data from 2 channels, then export to a text file for analysis with Execel or Origin. The data file should contain four columns:
t1 Y1 t2 Y2
I know it is convenient to use Write Measurement File express VI, but since this express VI open and close file in each loop execution, I prefer to use low-level File I/O functions to save computer resources (I need to reserve resources for image acquisition and analyses).
The following attached VI just show the overall frame of the code, but is not executable now. I hope to get some suggestions from this forum to finish it.
Here, I have two main questions, thank you in advance if you can provide hints to any of them.
(1) How to get correct t0 and dt values for the waveform data
I am using 25Hz pulse signal to externally trigger DAQmx through PFI0. I set 100Hz for the rate input of the DAQmx timing VI since LabVIEW help says "If you use an external source for the Sample Clock, set this input to the
maximum expected rate of that clock. " .
When I use Write Measurement File express VI, I found in the resulting text file, the dt is 0.01 instead of 0.04, i.e., the value of dt in the waveform data is not determined by external PFI0 signal, but by the rate input for the DAQmx timing VI. Also, I found t0 does not always start from zero. However, from the display of data plot, I am sure the acquisition is at 25Hz.
Some people in this forum ever told me to use Get Waveform Component and Build waveform functions to manually rebuild the waveform data in order to get correct t0 and dt. I tried and no luck to succeed. Anyone can give me more detailed hints?
(2) How to write data of 'NChan NSample' at one time in a loop
I have two channel DAQmx, and for each channel there are several data points. I plan to use following method to export data:
Suppose in one loop DAQmx Read VI read 10 samples from each channel, so I assume I will get four arrays of 10 elements:
t_channel_1, Y_channel_1, t_channel_2, Y_channel_2.
Then I use a loop structure of N=10 to concatenate t1, tab,Y1,tab, t2,tab, Y2,return in 'element by element' mode, i.e., do 10 times of string concatenate and write to text file.
I don't know whether above method is effective. Anyone can advise a better one?
(3) Convert from timestamp to elapsed time in milisecond
In the final text file, the time column should be the values of elapsed time in milisecond since the start of acquisition. So, I think I need to get the timestamp of the first data point so that for later data points I can use Elapsed Time express VI to extract elapsed time in milisecond. However, I don't know how to get the timestamp at the starting of acquisition. Please advise if you know it.

He says in the 1st paragraph that he sets theDAQmx timing to 100Hz because that is his maximum expected clock rate. In the 2nd paragraph he says that in his measurement file dt is 0.01 instead of 0.04. This indicates that the dt value is determined by the DAQmx timing rate, not the PFI0 clock rate. I am thinking that he should set the DAQmx timing to match the PFI0 timing, 25Hz.
Maybe this would work.
You're right, I did misread what he said. But, I still have questions about what he said. " I set 100Hz for the rate input of the DAQmx timing VI ". The code shows a rate input of 25 to the timing VI. And nowhere else do I see a setting of 100Hz. I ran his code (used a simulated device) and put an indicator on the to dt's in the clusters. The came up as .04 which is what i would expect. It is hard to comment what is going on in the file since there is nothing being send to the write text file VI.

Need advise setting up bootcamp please

I am new to setting up partitions and bootcamp. Please can you advise me:
1. How do I know how much space I will need? I'm installing MS Money, TurboLister (ebay), Windows, Office. If I setup Bootcamp, can I increase the partition if I decide to install further office applications.
2. If I decide not to use Mac applications, do I need to delete or remove the apps/file which are in that partition?
The reason is that because I rely mostly on WIndows applications for my work, I can considering switching completely over to Windows but still retain using the MacAir. Please can you advise if there may be issues with this eg. tracker mouse on Windows - does that work ok?

No ability to resize.
Some are happy to use Windows virtually (Fusion, VirtualBox, Parallels).
Create and install Windows on Boot Camp, and then use it as dual-boot and/or in OS X under Mac side by side.
Excel/Office runs better natively in Boot Camp. But running in a VM also taxes the hardware more.
Plan on the largest - then double that. Maybe 50/50.
You can get along with 40GB for Mac side.
Why MacAir if you are going Windows primarily or only?
By the end of the year Apple promises full support on current Macs for Windows 7 - so I would assume trackpad, mouse, networking, BT etc.
