856 xslt Mapping question ...

I was asked in the jdev forum to post this here as well :)
Ramesh,
I hate to keep bugging everyone but i have another question.
I am trying to transform data into an X-12 856 document (outbound). I have most of the looping and everything working. My only issue is how do you handle the parent child relationships in the HL01/02 ? Since xpath does not let you increment a variable how can you keep the count of the HL loops let alone tell the HL02 (parent's HL01) We are using a SOPI scenario and the items need to be subordinate to the appopriate pack level.
I really appreciate all the time and awnsers you have given me so far :)
Thank you in advance,
Jaden

Hi,
There is a way to handle x=x+1 in XSLT....here it is..assume u want to sum all the elements of an arraylist in an XML...create a temporary variable(TransCountSumVar) and do a foreach and group them in one more variable (Transactions_Count2)
<xsl:variable name="TransCountSumVar">
              <xsl:for-each select="/ns1:TotalDate/ns1:price">
                               <Transactions_Count2>
                  <xsl:value-of select="number(ns1:price)"/>
                              </Transactions_Count2>
              </xsl:for-each>
</xsl:variable>now get the sum of those in Transactions_Count2 as follows
<xsl:variable name="TComp" select="sum(exsl:node-set($TransCountSumVar)/Transactions_Count2)"/>where Tcomp is another variable with holds the final sum and be sure to the the namespace xmlns:exsl="http://exslt.org/common" in XSL at name space declarations.

    Hi,
    I am already using jdk 5 for the same.
    Can you please tell me what is the setting(s) that need to be done for XSLT to be used with JDK5.
    I have a knowledge on how to develop a XSLT mapping, but fail to understand what is the relation between XSLT and JDK5.
    It will be very helpful to me if you post your reply to my question here: Basic Settings in Operation Mapping
    Appreciate your help and time.
    Thanks.

  • Multi Mapping using condition & Dynamic Receiver determination – Used XSLT Mapping

    Dear Experts,
         I am struggling to identify an error on the Technical Routing. Firstly according to my scenario, I receive an XML file with multiple PO's and I have to split the file to 2 different target messages. and also according to the source payload I have to send the file to 2 different receivers. first receiver is ABAP Proxy to the back end system and the 2nd one is to a file location. I have used XSLT to split the message into 2 target message type and I have used a XSLT mapping for receiver determination. Does any one have any idea of what I am doing wrong.
    Note: some time I will only be able to fill in on target message.
    I have attached my XSLT message split mapping with this post, please let me know if you have further question.
    Your help is more appreciated.
    Advance Thanks,

  • Graphical Mapping Vs XSLT mapping Vs Java Mapping Vs ABAP Mapping

    Hi Experts,
              I have a question regarding different message mapping options available in XI namely
    Graphical Mapping
    XSLT mapping
    Java Mapping
    ABAP Mapping
    Q1: Which amoung the above mappings is the best and why?
    Q2: On what cases Graphical, XSLT, Java and ABAP Mapping should be used?
    Q3: Is it true that graphical and XSLT mappings are converted into Java class internally?
    Kindly help!
    Thanks

    Hi,
    There is no hard and fast rule for using the mapping techniques.
    Graphical Mapping is used for simple mapping cases. When, the logic for your mapping is simple and straight forward and it does not involve mult hiearchical mapping requirement. and context handling.
    Java and XSLT mapping are used when graphical mapping cannot help you.
    When the choice is between Java And XSLT, XSLT is simpler than java mapping and easier. But, it has its drawbacks.  XSLT can lead to a bad perfrormance if the Source XML is huge.
    Java Mapping uses 2 types of parsers. DOM and SAX. DOM is easier to use with lots of classes to help you create nodes and elements, but , DOM is very processor intensive.
    SAX parser is something that parses your XML one after the other, and so is not processor intensive. But, it is not exaclty easy to develop either.
    For further info on each of the mapping, refer to these links,

    Am not sure about XSLT , but , yes graphical mapping is converted into java classes internally and these classes use SAX parsing as well.

  • XSLT Mapping - Configuration error

    Hi there,
    I have loaded an XSLT mapping that references 2 other mapping templates (in separate files). When I test the main mapping (in the Interface Mapping test tool) I get the following error:
    Transformer configuration exception occurred when loading XSLT POSbankingPacketToWPUFIB.xsl (http://ournamespace, 36cb0f00-1a9b-11d8-96af-e1600a114c15, -1)
    The trace in the tool showed the following:
    Creating XSLT mapping POSbankingPacketToWPUFIB
    URIResolver called with href = EDI_DC40.xsl and base =  POSbankingPacketToWPUFIB.xsl
    Source resolved. System id = EDI_DC40.xsl
    URIResolver called with href = WPUFIB.WPUFIB01.xsl and base = POSbankingPacketToWPUFIB.xsl
    Source resolved. System id = WPUFIB.WPUFIB01.xsl
    Any ideas on how to resolve this problem would be appreciated. Info below may also be helpful:
    - I have tested the XSL mapping in xmlSpy and it produces the required result but in the IR the error above occur. - I am using <xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" .... > in my definition
    - I am calling templates from the POSbankingPacketToWPUFIB.xsl that exist in both EDI_DC40.xsl and WPUFIB.WPUFIB01.xsl
    - I am using variables, template parameters and <xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes"> in the referenced xsl stylesheets.
    Regards
    Christiaan

    Hi there,
    Thank you for your answer. All of those things were okay.
    The problem was related to XPath 2.0 syntax which does not seem to be supported by XI. The statement in question was:
    <xsl:for-each select="POSbankingPacket/DetailGroup[GroupType ne 'HD']">
    I have now switched to XSLT 1.1 and will hopefully find a adequate replacement statement.
    Thank you,

  • FCC in Xslt Mapping?

    Is it possible do define FCC in XSLT Mapping?
    If Yes, where do we define Fcc parameters in XSLT Mapping?

    Praveen,
    I didn't understand your question...
    FCC is a file protocol which we use at adapter side.(File/JMS adapters).
    Once file is converted as per FCC parameters, you get XML data which you can use as input for mapping (whether xslt, or message mapping, etc).
    This way FCC parameters can't be used even in Message mapping.
    These are 2 mutually distinct steps. Once input message is ready after FCC only then mapping program is called. How can these be used together?
    Please clarify if I got your question incorrectly...
    Regards.

  • XSLT Mapping : RFC Lookup using java helper class

    Hi All,
    I am doing RFC Lookup in xslt mapping using java helper class. I have found blog for the same (http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/05a3d62e-0a01-0010-14bc-adc8efd4ee14) However this blog is very advanced.
    Can anybody help me with step by step approach for the same?
    My basic questions are not answered in the blog as:
    1) where to add the jar file of the java class used in xslt mapping.
    I have added zip file of XSLT mapping in imported archived and using that in mapping.
    Thanks in advace.

  • Java Error in RFC Lookup in XSLT Mapping usinf Java helper class

    Hi All,
    I am doing RFC Lookup in XSLT Mapping using Java Helper class.
    The Lookup works fine when called one RFC at a time However my requirement is I want to do 2 Lookups.
    Both Lookups works when done individually however when I call both lookups in one mapping I get following error "javax.xml.transform.TransformerException: DOMSource whose Node is null."
    Following is the code I have written in XSLT for the lookup:
         <xsl:template name="Lookup_1">
              <xsl:param name="STDPN"/>
                   <rfc:RFC_READ_TABLE>
                        <QUERY_TABLE>KNA1</QUERY_TABLE>
                        <OPTIONS><item><TEXT>
                                  <xsl:value-of select="$STDPN"/>
                             </TEXT></item>
                        </OPTIONS>
                        <FIELDS>
                             <item>
                                  <FIELDNAME>KUNNR</FIELDNAME>
                             </item>
                        </FIELDS>
                   </rfc:RFC_READ_TABLE>
              </xsl:variable>
              <xsl:variable name="response" xmlns:lookup="java:urn.mt.pi" select="lookup:execute($request, 'BS_D, 'cc_RfcLookup', $inputparam)"/>
              <xsl:element name="STDPN">
                   <xsl:value-of select="$response//DATA/item/WA"/>
              </xsl:element>
         </xsl:template>
         <xsl:template name="Lookup_2">
              <xsl:param name="BELNR"/>
                   <xsl:variable name="Query">AGMNT = '<xsl:value-of select="$BELNR"/>'</xsl:variable>
                   <xsl:variable name="request1">
                        <rfc:RFC_READ_TABLE>
                             <QUERY_TABLE>ZTABLE</QUERY_TABLE>
                             <OPTIONS><item><TEXT>
                                  <xsl:value-of select="$Query"/>
                                  </TEXT></item>
                             </OPTIONS>
                             <FIELDS>
                                  <item>
                                       <FIELDNAME>KUNAG</FIELDNAME>
                                  </item>
                             </FIELDS>
                        </rfc:RFC_READ_TABLE>
                   </xsl:variable>
                   <xsl:variable name="response1" xmlns:lookup="java:urn.mt.pi" select="lookup:execute($request1, 'BS_D','cc_RfcLookup', $inputparam)"/>
                   <xsl:element name="BELNR">
                        <xsl:value-of select="$response1//DATA/item/WA"/>
                   </xsl:element>
         </xsl:template>
    My Question: Am I doing anything wrong? Or Is it possible to call multiple lookups in one XSLT?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Atul

    Hi Atul,
    I had the same problem like you had.
    The main Problem is that with the example code the request variable is created as NodeList object. In XSLT a variable is somekind of a constant and can't be changed. As the request object is empty after the first request the programm fails at the following line:
    Source source = new DOMSource(request.item(0));
    So I've created a workaround for this problem.
    In the call of the template I've put the request as a parameter object at the template call:
    <xsl:with-param name="req">
    <rfc:PLM_EXPLORE_BILL_OF_MATERIAL xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
      <APPLICATION>Z001</APPLICATION>
      <FLAG_NEW_EXPLOSION>X</FLAG_NEW_EXPLOSION>
      <MATERIALNUMBER><xsl:value-of select="value"/></MATERIALNUMBER>
      <PLANT>FSD0</PLANT>
      <VALIDFROM><xsl:value-of select="//Recordset/Row[name='DTM-031']/value"/></VALIDFROM>
      <BOMITEM_DATA/>
    </rfc:PLM_EXPLORE_BILL_OF_MATERIAL>
    </xsl:with-param>
    With this change the request will be provided as a String object and not as a NodeList object.
    Afterwards the RfcLookup.java has to be changed to the following:
    package com.franke.mappings;
    import java.io.ByteArrayInputStream;
    import java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.InputStream;
    import java.io.PrintWriter;
    import java.io.StringWriter;
    import java.util.Map;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import javax.xml.transform.Source;
    import javax.xml.transform.Transformer;
    import javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory;
    import javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMSource;
    import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import org.w3c.dom.Node;
    import org.w3c.dom.NodeList;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.lookup.Channel;

  • Mapping - Questions

    Hi,
       I have few basic questions regarding mappings.
       1)  I think we can do everything by using Graphical Mapping. Then what is the purpose for Java, XSLT and ABAP mapping? Please give me an example for this...
       2) Which mapping will give better performance? Is there any comparison document available in SDN?
      Appreciate your help!
    Thanks,
    Vivek

    hi,
    Mapping Techniques
    XI provides 3 standard ways of interface mapping between source and target.
    Graphical mapping
    Java Mapping
    XSLT Mapping
    Two more additional mapping types can be activated in XI by making changes to the exchange profile. Those two mappings are
    ABAP mapping
    XSLT mapping with ABAP Extensions
    Graphical Mapping
    Graphical mapping is a common approach followed by everyone for generating desired target structure. It involves simple drag-n-drop to correlate respective nodes (fields) from source and target structure. It hardly involves coding. (Exception - User defined functions). But sometimes with graphical mapping it is difficult to produce required output. For example ... text/html output, namespace change, sorting or grouping of records etc.
    ABAP Mapping
    A person comfortable with Object Oriented ABAP can go for ABAP mapping instead.
    Java Mapping
    Java Mapping uses 2 types of parsers. DOM and SAX. DOM is easier to use with lots of classes to help you create nodes and elements, but , DOM is very processor intensive.
    SAX parser is something that parses your XML one after the other, and so is not processor intensive. But, it is not exaclty easy to develop either.
    XSLT Mapping
    One can also think of Java mapping as another option but it is a bit complex and required knowledge of Java. In such cases, XSLT mapping can be the best approach to meet the requirements.

  • FileName in ABAP XSLT Mapping

    Dear SDN,
    In an integration scenario we are using sender File Adapter and a  ABAP XSLT Mapping.
    Is there any way to get the source FileName from such mapping.  Im trying to use the adapter-specific message attributes, but it doesn't work, and I didn´t find an example, probably I and doing somthing wrong.
    regards,
    GP

    Thank you for your help,
    I just try to access the adapter-specific attibutes using:
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
      xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
      xmlns:key="java:com.sap.aii.mapping.api.DynamicConfigurationKey">
    <xsl:variable name="filename"  select="key:create('http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File', 'Directory')" />
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    but the following error raised:
    <SAP:Stack>Error while calling mapping program YXSLT_TEST (type Abap-XSLT, kernel error ID CX_XSLT_RUNTIME_ERROR) Call of unknown function</SAP:Stack>
    have you had this situation?

  • XSLT MAPPING

    In which cases we will go for XSLT MAPPING?
    What are different functions available in altova map force ? please provide me the helpful material regards this?

    Hi,
    Check this link..
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/73/f61eea1741453eb8f794e150067930/frameset.htm

    STEPS.
    1.  Open the Alto MapForce, import the source .xml and .xsd file in it
    2. Similarly import the target .xml and .xsd in MapForce.
    3.These two data files should match with source and target data types in Integration Repository.
    4.Complete the graphical mapping using extensive list of XSLT functions available there.
    5. Save the mapping file.
    6.Click the XSLT tab. You will have the entire xslt logic there.
    7.Copy that content and save it as .xsl file.
    8. Zip above .xsl file and import the same into IR under Imported Archives.
    Thanks.
