8830 Case--Broken in 3 weeks--Norm?

The vinyl case for my 8830 (Verizon) broke at the clip after only 3 weeks. I took it back and they ordered me a new case, but my question is--is this normal? I have heard that the factory cases are not too sturdy, but should it break at the swivel in only 3 weeks?
I have also ordered the leather case on the BB site--is that a stronger swivel clip mechanism??

I broke my first case (the fake leather one that came with the device) in 5 days at the swivel joint. I got the runaround from Verizon and Blackberry customer support (each said contact the other for replacement) and then finally a supervisor at Blackberry wanted me to pay $10 plus shipping for the replacement case (the plastic holder). That one lasted about 2 months (broke in the same place) so now I've gone without for about 4 months. It's a pain, but better than having to make sure I sit down easily in the car so I don't accidently pull the tension clip out or break a pin. I personally think both of the cases I received were extremely flimsy considering they expect you to wear them on you hip. It would be better to have a belt loop with no swivel if they aren't going to make the devices any more sturdy than what they are currently. My boss has a belt loop attached horizontal "pocket" with a button snap that works much better.

'Fitted' Speck Case - Broken within weeks

Hi All,
As part of the iPhone 4 case programme I got a Fitted case from Spec. It's a decent fit and I was enjoying the benefits of it. However, today I have discovered that it has cracked rendering it useless
Now, perhaps I should just forget about it given that I received it free of charge, but I can't help thinking that Apple has paid for this in order that I have a shield for the iPhone's antenna. Now, as the result of a manufacturing defect or design flaw, I don't have that case and Apple have paid good money for nothing.
Does anyone know how I can contact Apple in the UK to follow this up? Is there an email address or web form? I've spend a considerable amount of time looking myself but I can't find anything.
Also, has anyone else had a similar problem with the Fitted case from Speck or am I just unlucky?

Got the same problem where it has split at two points at top of the case, did you have any joy when contacting speck? Or have you found out where to direct the complaint? I too have been trying to figure out how to return my case?

Ibook g3 Display Case Broken

My daughter accidentally knocked our computer off the table last night and the casing around the display is broken. Not cracked just coming apart now. The display works fine but I need to fix the casing. What is the best way to do this?

There are two different types of case on the iBook G3 (Dual USB), so in order to find one that matches, we need to know which model it is.
Do you want to try this yourself? It's quite complicated, requiring nearly complete disassembly of the iBook to get to the display housing.

HP Bottom Case broken

I have HP pavilion g7-2160so. its bottom case is broken from left side. The screw holders which hold screws of hindges are broken. therfore sometimes its hindge touches fan and it seems so fragile to break anytime. The only solution is to replace whole lower body. But idont know where to purchase it. i have visited ebay and other websites but could not find it plz help

770 broken in first week!

I have a 770 that is not a week old yet, and from day 1 I had difficulty switching it on. A couple of times I had to remove the battery and start again. It's now developed a fault with the screen, so that when I eventually manage to switch it on, the screen is white, with a couple of broad grey/black bars running vertical!
Any ideas how to get it fixed, the website only seems to cater for phone faults, and I can't return it to the shop as it was bought for me as a gift!!!!!

My 770 developed a number of problems after the first two weeks, the biggest are; 1 - only vertical lines on the blank display, 2 - the device turns on by itself. In attempting to find resolution to the problem (US), I used the nokiausa.com web site and also called the customer support line. Nokia has not upgraded their support systems to adequately care for their Nokia 770 user base. This is a big deal IMHO for future expansion of the user base. Who wants to buy a device that breaks and you can't get it fixed?! The help line operator said that the nokia support computers were down so she couldn't give me a return number or service center address. Right. That's a lie on its face. After digging around on the web site, I found a service request form under FAQ, Repair, Repair, and was able to hack the form input fields in the browser URL enough to get a printable return form with an RTA# and the address of the nearest Certified Repair Center. I also Googled up the Service Center to verify that they could in fact work on the 770 and weren't just a non-technical clearing house... I also called them to verify they were actually competent to do the repair. You have to enter in some bogus information like Carrier and cell phone number, since Nokia apparently forgot to instruct their web designers that they have other products...

Netflix: Unable to Sign In (106:200) : Broken after two weeks of working

After two weeks of flawlessly working, ATV2 has decided it will no longer let me connect to Netflix. Keeps asking me to re-login.
Here's what I've done:
- Reset Apple TV
- Reset router
- Logged into Netflix via my computer (to prove I remember what my user id and passwd are)
- Searched the Netflix site for (106:200) -> nothing
- Tried to re-login 10 times on Apple TV. Had my wife watch me deliberately type in our info

Well in my case, I called Netflix. They reset the password on my account. I was able to get ATV2 to connect again.
In the process of entering my credentials multiple times, I suppose I may have locked myself out. I couldn't get the very polite Netflix phone operating to clarify if it was user error.
I still don't know why after two weeks of working fine, ATV2 suddenly challenged me to re-login to Netflix in the first place.
Disaster averted... 2yr old watching Wallace and Grommet as we speak.

Motherboard broken after 3 weeks?

I bought a MacBook Pro 15" in early in January. After 3 weeks the MBP stops working and performs shutdowns. The AHT from DVD hangs. Now after two weeks of waiting to repair they told me that they have to change the motherboard.
This was my first MAC and I am quite disappointed.
Did anybody else discovered such problems? Is it normal to wait 3-4 weeks for the repair of a MBP?

These kind of problems only occur on 1 in 10000 or so of macbook pros.
And no it Defiantly should not take more than 3-4 week to get repaired. i suggest that you call apple's customer relations and tell them about your problem. And by the way, if your computer has such a fault you should demand for a replacement NOT repair. it has to be serious though. I hope that everything works out fine for you. Keep us posted.

Two AC adapters broken in one week (S510P)

After one year, suddenly my ac adapter stopped working... the pc stopped to get the charge from it, the power led on the pc was off. The adapter emitted a constant, rythmic buzz, which wasnt normal.
So i bought a new one, and the pc startes working again.
After exacly one week the new charger is not excepted again.
But this time it does not emit strange noises, just a very low constant buzzing but i guess that could be normal.
What can i do?
I openes my pc to its bones, and removed the DC IN jack, because im starting to think he is the cause, but i ask here before buying a new jack...
I mean, if it was the problem i would expect it or to work sporadically and inconsitwntly, or to stop working completly... this all "week extra" i gained changing the charger makes no sense, i dont know... please help

Heatmiser: This is something of a long shot, but then any other possibility that's occurred to you or occurs to me is at least as long a shot, so humor me and see whether this gets you anywhere.
Apple AC adapters shut down completely when the AC power supply they're connected to is "dirty." The ringlight goes off and no power is delivered to the computer, for any purpose. When that happens, the remedy is to unplug the adapter from the wall outlet for a minute or so, then plug it back in again. This resets the adapter and it usually starts working normally again, until the next time the AC supply gets dirty and the adapter shuts down again. You can read about this in this article (see #2 in the article).
If the ringlight went out on either of your adapters for this reason, and you then connected that adapter to the other laptop without first unplugging it from the wall for a minute, the adapter was still shut down when you plugged it into the second computer, and it obviously wouldn't have behaved any differently with that computer until you unplugged it and plugged it back in again. It seems improbable that you carried out all your tests in just such a way as to insure, purely by chance that both adapters had been shut down by dirty line power and not reactivated before testing with the other computer. But I guess it's possible, and the other explanations that come to mind (both adapters or both computers failing simultaneously, in the same way) are all about equally improbable.

Apple's [service web page|https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do] will tell you your service options. I had a pair of headphones go out on me, they sent me a new pair very quickly. I had to send the old ones back, but not until after they sent me the new ones. Worked out really well.

I want to hide my time capsule so a burglar cannot find it (we were broken into last week and our imac taken).

So, I would like to keep it separate from my BT wireless router. Is this stupid? Will my wireless connection be weaker as a result?
I would like my BT router to sit in the downstairs study with my macbook and replacement imac connecting wirelessly to it. Then I would like my time capsule to be hidden away elsewhere out of sight in the event of another break in. It seems silly connecting it to the router so that a thief could easily swipe it if they try to come in again - and then my backups are gone. But on the other hand, don't apple recommend that the time capsule is your main wireless hub rather than simply annexing it to your existing network?
Will the backups be much slower if the time capsule is stored elsewhere?
Will I be unable to connect my printer to the wireless network?

Not stupid in the circumstances.. i hope you had contents insurance and got it replaced and had backups of your files.
You cannot wireless link the TC to the BT router.. you can ethernet connect them.. or use ethernet replacement like EOP adapters.

You can use it in bridge as a wireless access point plus hard disk. That will not affect the network.
Backup speed will depend on the wireless connection to your BT router.. that will be the issue. Unless you do some tricky stuff and use a secondary wireless client in the computer.. a usb stick could be plenty for the internet access but stick with TC for local lan.. but this might be getting too complicated.
Is the printer a wireless network printer or needs to be usb connected?
If the printer is wireless type then no issues.. but even that can be worked around.
The TC doesn't have wall mount holes, unlike the old discus version.. which was very neat.. On the other hand you can remove the rubber mat easily with a hot air gun and easily remove the bottom aluminium cover so to add wall or ceiling mount holes.. ceiling mount is excellent as a thief will probably never look there. or find it too hard to reach and if you screw it down well.. which you have to as it weighs a bit, then the rf radiation pattern is near ideal. Stupid apple for removing design features from one model (eg POE as well) in the old model for aesthetics only design.

IPhone 5s leather case: gone wrong because of low quality, can I get it replaced or a refund?

I bought Apple iPhone 5s leather case, and after three weeks I noticed that is broken (it cannot be seen visually), and I suppose that this case is not the right quality as Apple ussualy provide. Do I have any chance to get a refund or simply to get it replaced to new one?

Apple changes the case.
IN my situation it was that the case was broken near the earphones plug.
BUt if you are considering whether buy or not the leather case, i can tell you that case will change its color. I dont know anout black, i have brown, it becomes more brown as i use it. I suppose the case has top layes and when you use it the top layer goes off and you have final layer.
ON my brown case the used color is darker brown.
I Like this case, it looks luxurious, as it is.

Need to show a data in weeks for stacked column

I need to show the data broken down in weeks if you choose the start date and end date. I have to show in a stacked column chart. I am trying to show the values if you choose for example last month i need to show it by weeks for example

If I understand correctly, you want to display the data by weeks in a stacked column chart. If in this case, we can add a calculated field named week to display the week name, and then group it. For more details, please see the following steps:
Right-click the dataset to add a calculated field with the values below:
Name: Week
Calculated field: =DatePart(DateInterval.WeekOfYear,Fields!FirstApprovedDate.Value,0,0)
Add Week field to category group area in a stacked column chart.
Right-click Week field to open the Properties dialog box, modify the expression of Label to like this:
="week"&Fields!Week.Value
Add TotalApproved or TotalItemsAdded field to data area in the chart.
If there are any misunderstanding, please elaborate the issue for further investigation.

VBA script for custom Outlook 2010 calendar "first day of week"

I need Outlook 2010 to use "week starting with the Saturday before Jan 1" as "first week of year" to match our company payroll calendar. (For example, Saturday 12/26/2015-Sunday 1/3/2016 would be "first week of 2016".) Is there

where 15.0 stands for Outlook

In FM 8 and 9, Xref generated text invisible and xref is reported broken

Hi all,
We were working in 8 and now in 9, and have not been able to solve this problem:
For xrefs to another document, the generated text (based on the srcfile attribute) is correct in the XML. When we open it in Frame, sometimes it is invisible and also reported as broken. When you double click on it, Frame opens the target document of course, and we can see that the reference is indeed properly set. If we click "Replace" in the xref dialog box to reset it -- even though there is nothing to reset -- the text does appear. We save and close, then reopen, and it is there.
But then it disappears again in subsequent uses. References that we have set and reset continue to disappear and report as broken. Entire books that had no broken xrefs last week now have a raft of them.
This is an irritant when working, but critical when generating a PDF -- as of course, the text just doesn't show up.
Has anyone experienced xrefs that seem to continually break, along with disappearing text? Sorry I can't provide any more information than this: I am truly stumped.

I work with xrefs in a similar fashion, I think, so I have a few comments in addition to what Lynne posted. In particular, these sentences in your post confused me some:

The "generated text" of an xref is not typically stored in an XML representation, unless you have some kind of special setup. The srcfile attribute will store the filename and the target element ID of the xref only, expecting that when reopened in Frame (or some other XML processor/publisher) the text will be requeried from the target doc and regenerated at the xref instance. For this reason, if you open an XML file with this type of xref, it cannot regenerate the text unless the target document is already open (that is, Frame won't automatically attempt to open docs just to discover the text for xref targets). So if the target doc is not currently open, the xref shows up with no text... just an xref object but it is still technically "resolved."
When this happens, it's like Lynne says... you'll need to do some kind of update action to force a regeneration. I use the book update utility to do this for a batch of files.
Another thing... I don't ever get these xrefs "reported as broken." I do see that the structure view omits the IDReference attribute until an xref is updated (FM7), which can show up as invalid if your EDD requires the attribute. I don't know why it works this way, but it doesn't seem to affect my workflow. Internally, the xrefs remain valid, as shown when you double-click one and see it resolved in the xref dialog box. I can open and save XML files with xrefs in this state without any problems, including the proper writing out of IDReference attributes even if they don't appear in the Structure View.
