9.0.5.2: Wrong release level in AM and DCJboDataControl

We have an web application (9.0.5.2, UIX, Struts). It is supposed to run in reserved mode.
We specified the release mode in our own jboserver.properties and in the bc4j.xcfg. Still, the AM and the DCJboDataControl have a release level of 1, which means managed.
What are we doing wrong?
We (hopefully) found a workaround: We check the release level of the data control in our DataForwardAction sub class in handleLifecycle() before the super call and adjust it if necessary to RELEASE_LEVEL_RESERVED.
Is this okay? Is there a better way to do this?
Thanks in advance!
Sascha

Hi,
These are intentionally undocumented in 9.0.5/10.1.2. They are advanced features. I have provided more description below:
jbo.ampool.timetolive and jbo.pooltimetolive:
TTLs for the application pool and the BC4J connection pool respectively. This parameter supercedes the available sizes of each pool with a hard limit on the time that any resource should exist. Defaults to 3600000ms (1 hour).
jbo.connectfailover:
Determines whether BC4J should ping the JDBC connection upon AM use/release. If BC4J does not perform a ping then an AM with a dead connection could be returned to the application user. Of course, the ping is not perfect since a connection could become dead during use. Defaults to true (perform connect failover).
Hope this helps,
JR

  • How do I tell what version (update / release level) of version 6 has been applied to my system?

    Question
How do I tell what version (update / release level) of version 6 has been applied to my system? I have applied several different release levels to version 6 of FF but all the about feature tells me is Version 6.0. no version! This seems to be a change in the way updates are handled. Is that a bending because of the speed of which you're pushing out updates and new releases?

    @cchur <br />
Nope, I never used Chrome, but I did try Chromium on my Windows desktop PC for a few months last year. I got tired of the Google updater. exe running all the time and Google's method of doing updates, so it's gone. I do have Chromium on my Linux EeePC since last summer, but Ubuntu handles all updates and gives the user the capability to accept or deny, any or all updates - much more to my liking, similar to the way Mozilla does it. I don't like software developers forcing to update until I am ready to proceed.
There's a lot more about this new Fast Release system, than just the lack of visible version numbers, that I don't like. The Nightly, Aurora, Beta, & Release sequence is dumb with the way it changes the version numbers. I prefer installing (for instance) what will become version 7 and have that installation progress thru the 4 stages, instead. Now it's like Nightly going from 7 to 8, Aurora going from 6 to 7, and Beta doing - hell, I won't know if it becomes a Release or if it just dies and I will have to install the Release version myself. ''Quite honestly I don't care, because I don't think this new "system" is going to last too long without major modifications. Too damn many users are so pissed off, that when Firefox starts losing large numbers of users, Chrome keeps growing and eventually passes Firefox in number of users and market share of usage - Mozilla will wake up and see the "light" and change back to the way things used to be done, to a certain extent.''
I also dislike the UI changes in 4/5/6/7 enough that I am still using Firefox 3.6 for almost everything and Firefox 2.0.0.20 for the rest. I have been setting my toolbars up almost like Mozilla did for Firefox 4, since Firefox '''0.7''' in 2003 and I haven't come up with a workable combination of mods and extensions to configure Firefox to look and work the way I have been doing for almost 8 years now.

  • What release level of code do you get when you download a disk image (ISO/IMG) of a click-to-run Office 2013 product?

I’ve asked a similar question to this on an Office Community Forum but nobody knows the answer.  So
I was hoping that an IT professional responsible for installing and deploying Office 2013 might know.
If you download an installation disk image (ISO/IMG) of a click-to-run Office 2013 product from office.microsoft.com/myaccount (Account Options:
Install from a disc > I want to burn a disc), what release level of code do you get?
Now that Service Pack 1 is available, do you get a disk image with Service Pack 1 incorporated?
Or do you still get the RTM (Release to Manufacturing) level of code?

Diane, thank you for the reply.
I was hoping that someone who has downloaded a disk image since SP1 became available would be able to confirm that for a fact.
I have just found a good description of Click-to-Run on Technet that I didn't know existed.  The link is: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219427(v=office.15)
    The article states:
"Click-to-Run products that you download and install from Microsoft are up-to-date from the start. You won’t have to download and apply any updates or service packs immediately after you install the Office product."
This statement is probably true if you click the Install button on office.microsoft.com/myaccount and install "in real-time" over the Internet.  However, I know for a fact that it is not true if you order a backup disk (Account
Options: Install from a disc > I want to purchase a disc).  All you get is RTM level code (15.0.4420.1017).
So I still feel uneasy about what release level you get if you download a disk image.  I don't want to download what might be the better part of 1GB of code over the Internet only to discover it is back level.
Addendum (6 April 2014): I decided to perform an experiment.  I looked at the size of the data on my backup disk which contains RTM level code.  It is 2.04GB.  I then went to office.microsoft.com/myaccount and clicked to download a disk
image of my Office 2013 product.  The pop-up window that asks me whether I want to Run or Save the file informed me that the size of the file is 2.04GB!!!  I cancelled the download.  I strongly suspect that, if I had continued with the
download, I would have received the same RTM level code I already have dating back to October 2012.  I think this is awful customer service.  To some extent, I can understand the logistical problems of replacing backup disks lying in warehouses
waiting to be shipped.  But I cannot understand why disk images on download servers cannot be refreshed quickly.

  • SAPINST: "Database EPD has wrong compability level"

    Hi
We are doing a "homogeneous system copy" of a java system:
    WebAS Java 6.40 SP16 (with EP 6.0 SP16)
Basically we are changing from a 32-bit platform to a 64-bit platform and ind the process also shifting from MSSQL 2000 to 2005 and renaming the SID.
    Source platform:
    - MSSQL 2000
    - Windows 2003 on x86
    Target platform:
    - MSSQL 2005
    - Windows 2003 on x64 (AMD)
We are using SAPINST NW04 (patch collection version) and choosing to use a database-specific method for the database copy (backup/restore).
On the target system the RDBMS MSSQL2005 (9.00.2047.00) has been installed and the source database (EPP) has been restores (and renamed as EPD).
    The error:
When running the SAPINST on the target-platform in one of the last phases when prompted for the "Database Information" (choosing "EPD"), then we get the error "Database EPD has wrong compability level"
Any idea what is wrong ?
    Best regards
    Tom Bo

    Hello,
U might have to consider the impact of migrating the MSSQL 2000 to MSSQL 2005 also the impact of using the 32-bit to 64-bit conversion..
U first have to consider the pre-migration checks for O.S. and DB...
dont forget to give reward point plz.

  • How do I determine Maintenance release level

    Good morning,
Can anyone tell me how to determine the maintenance release level on an OES11.1 SP1 server ?
The instructions for NSM 4 say you need to be at OES11.1 SP1 with Jan 2013 Maintenance release applied.
    When I run "cat /etc/novell-release" my reply is;
    VERSION LEVEL = 11.1
    PATCHLEVEL = 1
I tried looking in YaST2 "Software Management, though that was any help for me.
Is there another way to determine if the Jan 2013 Maintenance release was applied. Maybe a file date somewhere?
    Thanks,
    Allen

As far as I know there's no command or log file which will easily show
which maintenance release(s) has/have been applied.
Since you're wanting to know whether a particular one has been applied
what you can do in this case is check your installed versions of the
packages shipped in that maintenance release. See
    http://download.novell.com/Download?...d=73ZrJ9ZUGjQ~ and
    http://download.novell.com/Download?...d=DHDMLrK5Wgc~ for the January
2013 Scheduled Maintenance release for OES11 SP1 inc. eDirectory.
Use "rpm -q <package>" to check which version of the package is
installed - this will also report if a package is not installed. For
example, to check which version of the ifolder3-enterprise package you
have installed use "rpm -q ifolder3-enterprise".
Given the number of novell-* packages updated by the January 2013
Scheduled Maintenance update I would use "rpm -qa novell-*|sort" to list
all novell-* package versions (note the "-qa" is needed because of the
    "novell-*" wildcard).

  • Wrong Release strategy in purchase order

    Hi,
I have a specific purchase order with wrong release strategy.
I had been creating others documents with the same total value and the release strategy work correctly.
The release strategy configuration are right.
How I can correct the release strategy in a specific document?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards.

    Hi,
The release strtegy is basically conssitss of Different type of characters.
What characters you are highlighting plays in release strategy.
First you comapre the characters you mentioned in two purchase orders,
    eg: p.org, Pur Grp, Value,------
o to bith release strategies and compre the things or characters you mentioned Release strategy and found wher you missed to get the required Strategy.
SPRO>>MM>>Purchase order>>Release Procedure for Purchase Orders>>Define Release Procedure for Purchase Orders>>Click on release strategies
Select your release strategy and go to Classification , here you chck the parameters in both release strategies and compare with your purchase orders.

  • How to get OS release level in the driver?

Hi. Who can tell me whether any DKI or kernel system call provides the driver the operating system release level on the system, as the user system call of sysinfo( ) with SI_RELEASE command?

mdb has access for "release" (as text) via "utsname" kernel address. Try to find "utsname" memory location.

  • Set Release Level of IDoc Extension

I'm currently in the middle of an upgrade from 4.7 to 6.0.  We're having an issue with IDoc INVOIC01, which has an extension called ZINVOIC01.  The extension only has one segment with only one definition version, but the release was never set.  Now I want to set the segment release level for the Idoc in the partner profile to 46B, but it errors out because of the extension.  If I try to set the release on the extension now on 4.7 it goes to 620 and on 6.0 it goes to 701.  Is there a way around this?  Can I set the release to 46B in the extension somehow?
    Thanks All,
    Clint

    Hi Sandra,
Thank you for the response!  Let me try to explain from another angle.  Here is the error message on the outbound IDoc after upgrade and partner profile config change:  "Segment Z1EDP19 is unknown in Release 46B" (Status record 02 -Error passing data to port).  The reason is because the IDoc extension to this segment was never released.  The reason I'm trying to use release 46B is I want the same IDoc we had under 4.7.  I'm specifing the release in the partner profile.  If you don't specify a release in the partner profile you always get the newest release.  Here is the segment definition for the standard segment:
    008     E2EDP01008     700     603     52     543     08/24/2007
    007     E2EDP01007     620                    51     542     10/15/2004
    006     E2EDP01006     46B                    48     460     05/03/2000<--- I want this one!
    005     E2EDP01005     46A                    47     438     03/16/1999
    Hope this helps explain.
    Thanks again,

Snow Leopard, 10.6.3 or later, will support iLife 11, at least for iPhoto up to 9.2.3.  You would need to purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disk from a 3rd party retailer and update the iPhoto 9.0 to 9.1, 9.2 and then 9.2.3 thru the Apple Downloads site: iPhoto 9.1

  • Deployment warning: SC null null not known yet, can not get release level

    Hi everybody,
During the deployment I'm getting the following warning (application_00.log):
SC null null not known yet, can not get release level for vendor: 'se.sync', name: 'BPE', location: 'Deployment Manager', counter: '42', change number: 'null'
BPE is the application name and "se.sync" is the provider-name from application-j2ee-engine.xml.
This seems to indicate that some release level (version?) is not set... How can this be fixed?
    Regards,
    Milosz

    Hi Milosz,
the warning is because the deploy controller checks for correct version numbers in the DC/SC that is deployed.
You can just ignore it, your application should run just fine.

by reset option do you mean the DFU restore? worked for me, have you tried that?
if not - hold the lock and home button until the power down bar comes up. then hold the lock button for ten seconds - next continue to hold the lock button and press the home button for ten seconds - next release the lock button and hold the home button for 10 seconds. this should be done with the phone tethered. If done right and your itunes is configured as such, the phone will reload the drivers and start up itunes, and then prompt for a restore/update.
