[915 Series] LiveUpdate 3 Hangs systems at end of Windows XP boot

After installing LiveUpdate 3, my system hangs near the end of XP boot.  Searching the forum, I found one thread related to this - https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=63173.0 but it didn't offer any solution.
Anyone else experience this or have any ideas?  System specs in sig below.

I just posted about this in another thread. Don't have Live Monitor/ Live Update3 load with windows. Live Monitor is the utility on your computer that loads and has that icon in the Notification Tray/Area. If you do then re-install Live Monitor/ Live Update 3 don't have it load with windows. Below is what I wrote in https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=79322.msg561508#msg561508 :

Email MSI tech support about this issue. I've noticed a few posts about the new Live Monitor and a rebooting problem. I don't have this issue, but I don't have it load with windows--maybe that is why I don't. If you still want to update to the newer LiveMonitor/Live Update, do so, then double-click the icon in the Notification tray, usually the lower right-hand side, click configuration, uncheck the box for Launch Live Monitor at Startup, and click apply. You'll have to start Live Monitor(Live Update 3) after windows starts each time you wish to run it. Personally, I don't know why anyone would want this utility to run all the time anyway. Just start it your self, right-click the icon, click Auto-Search, click next, and then finish to get to whatever it finds. You can check it once a week yourself. Anytime you update Live Monitor/ Live Update3 it puts itself back in the startup group. So, you have to change the configuration each time.

every time I repair my iPod with iTunes, it hangs at the end of the process (while checkin the recovery of iPod). What can I do?

I chose to restore it to factory defaults, but that never succeeded.
It hangs at the end of the process.
    printscreen:
    http://users.telenet.be/kevvanbelle/iPod/ipod.JPG
    Language is Dutch :-)
    Littery it says:
    Check of Recovery of iPod.
    Already for 40 minutes.
    I closed down iTunes.
Now, when I turn on my iPod, there is the icon of iTunes with an usb cable towards it.
When I attach it to my computer and turn on iTunes, the message is there that a iPod was stuck in recovery mode and I should retry it.
And then I get the same story. Unpacking, installing, checking... blocked!

  • Right, MacBook Pro 17" early 2011(Built March) and my new OCZ sata III 6G not working, when is Apple going to admit there is a problem with the Intel's 6 Series Chipset. In System Information it says "Link Speed: 6 Gigabit" which is sata III.

My MacBook Pro 17" early 2011(built March) and my new OCZ sata III 6G are not working together, when is Apple going to admit there is a problem with the Intel's 6 Series Chipset. In System Information it says "Link Speed: 6 Gigabit" which is sata III and in my MacBook Pro it does not work.
Now MacBook Pro 17" early 2011 built May onward do not have this problem it was fixed in the Intel's 6 Series Chipset. (So there is a problem). Cam I have my MacBook Pro fixed please.

After biting the bullet and ordering more RAM, my computer now is working a ton better. So that must have been the main issue. With 8 GB RAM, I can now even run Parallels fluidly (better than my work PC!) where before simple things like logging in to my MBP after reboot could take forever.
The place I went to had several other people getting RAM upgrades at the same time as me, so between this and other comments I've seen in discussions here and elsewhere on the Internets, I take it to mean that either Apple should bump up the base RAM on its new machines, and/or stop charging so much for additional RAM.
I refused to believe a Pro machine bought with Lion installed would come with too little RAM for light to medium usage, but it was apparently the case. I'll mark this as a correct answer and hope some other poor soul will come across this thread and be helped by it.

  • Validity of System PSE ends in 2 days - How to stop these warnings?

    Hi
We are getting following warning in our R/3 System-4.7 (Web AS 620 on Windows with Oracle - Kernel 640)
SAPSYS - Validate of Certificate from list with PSE type > System PSE > ends in
2 days, for more information, see the SAP System log (transaction
                     SM21)
I am aware that our Portal logon ticket (SSO) certificate is expiring in 2 days. In order to stop these warnings,  I deleted the Portal PSE certificates in the R/3 System, but these warnings still appearing when we log in to R/3 system.
I am in the process creating new certificate in Portal and import the same to R/3. But, in the meanwhile how do I stop these warnings in the R/3 System? It looks like it cached some where.
Your directions/help in this regard would be highly appreciated.

Resolved by myself by deleting the old certificate and also deleting the messages in SM02. It's surprising to see that messages created by the system in SM02.

  • X-Fi + 2 GFX-Cards = high CPU-Load, slow Mouse, hanging system

    >X-Fi + 2 GFX-Cards = high CPU-Load, slow Mouse, hanging systemA Hey guys,
I'm running 2 GF 8800 GTs (PCIe .) cards on a MSI Eclipse SLI board. My Audigy2 ZS PCI runned fine in this system.
I just replaced the Audigy by a PCIe X-Fi (EMU20K2 audio processor - not the xtreme audio from MSI).
Now I'm dealing with the following issue:
    - System startup is slow
    - in Windows, Mouse is slow, stuttering
    - high CPU-Load
    - very slow system response
!!! Attention !!! I had this problems allready at the st boot with the X-Fi, when the driver from creative wasn't installed (the card was recognized as "HD Audio" bei Windows 7). Installing the drivers didn't help.
If I install only one graphics card, the system runns fine and I can use the X-Fi and it's Software without problems.
If I replace the X-Fi by the PCIe Xtreme Audio from MSI, System runns fine.
If I use Win XP with the two GFX cards and the X-Fi, System runns fine.
    Can you help me?

    User....

    Hi there,
got the same problem if i use my two Nvidia GTX260.
    My system:
    Asus P6T
    I7 920 @ 3,8GHz
    2GB ram
    Gigabyte GTX260 OC Edition
    Nvidia GTX260
    X-Fi XtremeGamer
-System (Win7x64) takes ~0min to start.
    -Stuttering mouse, keyboard everything >.<
Deactivating the onboard sound doesnt help.
Newest Nvidia and Creative driver too =(
The system runs fine without the X-FI and two GTX260 no errors ect...
One GTX260 runs also fine with the X-FI
But two graphic cards and the X-FI..... **bleep** =/
I use debian as my main OS and it run still fine with both graphic cards and the x-fi...
so i think its just a driver problem.
Hope it will be fixed soon =/

  • [915 Series] Motherboard Suggestion Request (P4 840 D)

I am looking for any recomendation on a motherboard.  I am looking at purchasing the Intel P4 840D processor and I want to know what MB would be a good one.  I would like to find one with AGP as my video card is AGP, or would it be best to eat the card and upgrade to PCI-Express?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.  (Also is SATA backward compatible to IDE so I can re-use my IDE HDD?)

Don't pick up any 915 series boards for P4 840D. You should pick 945, 955 and 975X boards instead. Go for Intel chipset boards, don't go for NForce4's as yours is a Pentium D.
Do you have a 550W power supply?
SATA is not compatible with IDE. For IDE, you must plug into an IDE port, you can't plug to a SATA port. But the good thing is, you don't need any driver for SATA.
You must go for PCIe card as these boards only support PCIe.

  • Sync hangs at very end, after updating to 3.0

After updating my 3G phone to v3.0, the backup and sync appear to proceed normally and then the sync hangs at the end. When it hangs, iTunes pegs the processors in my MacBook Pro. After waiting an hour the first time, I simply disconnected the USB cable without apparent ill effects; iTunes died down and my iPhone reverted to its non-syncing screen. I've done a restart of the phone (two buttons down for 10 secs until Apple logo appears) to no avail.
I've, of course, been adding apps willy-nilly since getting the iPhone so this may be it, right?. Should I start stepping back on these until I find a culprit?

This issue, to my knowledge, is known by Apple and should, from what I've read, be fixed (hopefully) in the 3.1 software. Given all of that, I'm not so sure why it's taken so long, unless, of course, Apple still hasn't figured out what's caused the issue. Try doing a search in the forums for this topic and you'll find you're certainly not the only one. Far, far from it.

  • System always starts fsck's at boot and can't start normally.

First of all, let me say that this forum is awesome. I've just started my first real ArchLinux experiment and you guys have helped me out so much already!
Anyway, my system keeps starting fsck's at boot. It then starts counting to 1 minute and 30 seconds, after which it stops the fsck and drops into into emergency mode. I can only boot by passing the "fsck.mode=force" parameter to the kernel from the boot manager.
I copied what I think are the relevant lines from journalctl:

I have got ISW running on DS 5.2 it is all working correctly.
What I want to do is set up a relica DS server with ISW on it as well.
    What I have done:
Install DS5.2 on another machine and start replication and it works all data is in the new LDAP server, but I am having problems install the ISW software on the new server.
    Steps:
    1) On original master with ISW installed and tell ISW of a secondery server. It tell me to install connector an that machine.
    2) On my replica server I run "runInstaller.sh" and it all seems to work except when I stop and restart the server I get the followowing errors:

I have checked and the above files are not installed well SUNWxrcsj and SUNWiswcm have not be installed.
    Question:
How do I install ISW on a secondery server. I thought I was following the online docs, but I guess I am missing something.

I have been trying to work on my homework all afternoon, via NAU's blackboard system. I am continuously getting booted out of the system, with an error stating "Data execution prevention". How can I prevent this from continuing?

If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.
If there are specific tasks you need help with:

  • Lenovo Thinkpad W510 hangs at Windows 7 boot screen

Having a really aggrivating issue with our new W510 Thinkpads we bought that I am having a hard time figuring out how to fix.
    Here are the specs:
    - W510
    - Core i7-720QM 1.6
    - 8GB RAM
    - Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit
    - Intel 80GB X25-M 2nd Gen SSD with latest firmware
    The problem I keep seeing:
Sometimes while booting the system will stop during the Windows 7 boot animation (the assembling windows logo).  The only way to get out of it is to hard power off the machine.
On next boot it usually suggests running startup repair.  I run it - it finds nothing.  It shuts the laptop down.
Generally on the next boot it works fine.  Sometimes it doesn't.
I have 20 of these laptops built off of a sysprepped image of the same format/size SSD.
If the system boots everything works perfectly fine from then on, until some random point during a subsequent shutdown or restart it does it again.
What I've tried to fix it:
    - Installed latest W510 bios (it wasnt showing up in system update so I grabbed it from the site)
Anyone else have any ideas?  This is incredibly frustrating as we just bought 20 of these and I am seeing this issue on every single one of them intermittently.
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Have you got the Thinkpad connected to an external monitor? I had the same problem, with my W510 connected via the dock to an external monitor. The only way I could get it to boot without locking/hanging at the Windows logo was to have the external monitor unplugged at boot time.
I installed the latest Nvidia drivers 8.17.11.9716 (from the Nvidia website) and this resolved the issue for me.

  • How do I clone a fully operational system that relies on Windows 7 for the underlying operating system?

I'm a retired IT professional desiring to assist a friend who owns a small business who recently experienced very malicious attacks on her computers from unknown parties operating anonymously on the Internet. Because
of her lack of preparation for such events, her future ability to continue to conduct her business was seriously threatened. The incident revealed, to my friend, the need to be prepared to deal with spontaneously occurring problems that create suspicious conditions
that arise with modern computer software before they can be analyzed in a sufficiently comprehensive manner to have an opinion regarding the appropriate course of action for obtaining a permanent remedy. In that, the ability to quickly react on the basis of
    only suspicion is the goal.
I want to recommend an approach that involves maintaining an offline image of an operational system that is capable of running any of her computers. This image needs to include all of the software required to run
her business. In that, it is not limited to the operating system. This single image could then be used to restore any computer to a known reliable state should the need arise. This technique will also insure that each computer has sufficiently similar capability
to allow them to substitute for each other. Insofar as image restoration is itself an operation susceptible to causing unacceptable business delay I'm also recommending that each of the identical computers (i.e., from a hardware perspective) operate in a multi-boot
environment where a virtually offline backup can be instantiated via a simple reboot (i.e., an operation that all users of the Windows operating systems turn to when strange behavior is first observed). My intention is to limit the cloned system (i.e., partition
or C: drive) to the operational software. The business data along with storage for temporary data will be isolated on other partitions (i.e, mounted with other drive letters) accessible by each instance of the software eligible for multi-boot operation.
This kind of operation is something that I know how to setup on older versions of the Windows operating system. However, Microsoft has now dropped support for all of those operating systems and my much more limited
experience with the currently supported operating systems reveals that changes to the boot process will necessitate making changes to the specific preparations needed to build such an environment.
Before recommending that my friend replace all of her computers with new ones, that includes paying for new operating system (i.e., Windows) licenses, I need some assurance that the new operating systems are as
good as the old ones in this respect. These need to be relatively inexpensive desktop computers and we're only talking about a few of them. Let's say fewer than half a dozen. My friend is a sole proprietor and even though her business has become completely
dependent on what was once called personal computers she must operate on a fairly tight budget. This especially includes the budget for technology.
The articles I've been able to find on the Microsoft support websites seem to treat multi-boot as a situation where someone is running different versions of possibly difference operating systems whereas my need
to produce a single image that will both run on multiple computers as well as multiple partitions on the same computer. I'd appreciate finding some technical advice that applies to building such a system using a supported version of Windows.

I tried the image creation/restoration described by Jared.  I don't think it makes much sense to rely on an operational system to do such a restoration therefore I opted for method 3 which involves using a "System Repair Disk".  My first
reaction is what a crude tool.  The image creation process had no trouble putting the image on a simple network share.  However, it appeared as though the restoration couldn't even connect with the device.  I then copied the files to a USB drive.
In this case the repair disk said it couldn't find the files even though they were there.  It offered no mechanism to even look and see what was there.  It appears as though it will only find the image if it is located in a folder by the certain
name used on creation and it is in root directory.  Not very handy.
As ugly as all that was when we finally come to the point of making the restore it looks like the only option is to restore the entire disk, which in my case would mean also restoring both the windows partition and the recovery partition.  This just
isn't what I want to do.  It is also something I wouldn't even consider doing unless it was the only possible way to recover from a failed hard drive.
In summary, unless I've completely failed to notice how it works that just isn't going to work.
I hope there is something better than this.  What about WinPE and ImageX?
Absent anything useful from Microsoft it will be necessary to try using other software.  Time to try Acronis!  I guess.
