9900 syncing taking forever

Having been served well by the 9780 for 2.5 years, I got a Q10 and immediately sent it back because of it not syncing with Outlook, So now I have a 9900 and I like the model but it is taking me 2.5 hours to synch calendar & contacts thru 7.0 software . I won't apologise for fact that I have a huge amount of calendar entries going back years because 9780 synced in 5-10 mins. I am desperate to know how to remedy this as I cannot keep updating device & outlook calendar if it will take this long. Can I go back to 6.0 software or another idea please?!

Hey belinab,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
If you have thousands of contacts and calendar entries, then yes it will take longer to synchronize in BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.0.  However 6.0 can not be used with BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone.
With regards to the BlackBerry Q10, currently there is only import to BlackBerry available and two way synchronization will be available at a later date.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers.

  • Calendar Sync Taking Forever (iCal)

I'm trying to sync my iCal calendars and its taking forever to sync. I left it running for several hours and it did not stop. I fear burning the green battery in on my new iPhone's screen so I've stopped the sync several times.
I tried it on my other computer (overwriting the old information) and it worked fine. On my powerbook I can't seem to get it to work.
Could it be a problem with iCal? Is there any reset options in iCal or iLife that might help me? It's only my calendars. Contact, Bookmarks and email sync with no problem.
    Thanks in advance

I experienced this problem as well, and after looking at various potential fixes, I found that I had to delete certain .plist files to make the sync function work again. This is a problem that the casual user should not have to address, and something that Apple will probably address (at least I hope) shortly.
I'm up and running again, but I do note that my troubles didn't appear until I subscribed to some calendars off of the internet. I'm not going to do that again until this issue has been resovled. There are some other threads on this board that address the specific .plist files, so I'd go there first. If you don't understand what that post tells you to do, then I'd stay away from the fix.

  • HT1386 Syncing taking FOREVER

why is it taking forever to sync my ipad? its been syncing for about 45 mins I cant eject or anything is it ok to disconnect from computer??

    You're welcome.
    You won't lose everything.
All iTunes content on your iPhone - all music, movies, tv shows, and 3rd party apps should be in your iTunes library on your computer.
All photos and/or videos in your iPhone's Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. Did you read the info included with the link provided? If so, have you imported all photos and/or videos from your iPhone's Camera Roll followed by deleting the photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete? If so, any change with your iPhone's backup time after doing so?
Contacts, calendar events, and Safari bookmarks are designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer, so none of this data will be lost either.
If your iPhone's Camera Roll is empty and no change with it empty, you can try deleting the existing backup followed by manually creating a new backup. Go to iTunes > Preferences and under the Devices tab select the current backup followed by selecting Delete.
With your iPhone connected, right click on your iPhone under Devices in the iTunes source list and at the menu window that appears, select Back Up to create a new backup.

  • Manual Syncing taking forever.......

My G3, purchased 8-28-08, was replaced last night because it had lots of issues, even after upgrading to 2.1 and updating my MacBook to 10.5.5. One of the major issues was around Mobile Me, not working. In the midst of addressing these issues, my manual syncing is now taking an excessive period of time to sync. I've been spending far tooooooo much time in the Apple Store, and on the phone with Apple Specialist. Does anyone have any idea why it's taking sooooooo long to do a manual sync? I've pretty much given up on Mobile Me. I had Palm TX, which I thought was from the stone ages, but at least it did a sync in record time. So far, G3 has been a nightmare. I just want to be able to at least manually sync it in a reasonable time. Thanks for listening.

As mentioned, I will just confirm seeing a lot of blogs and comments in blogs about the USB port you use and it effects Mac users more so than Windows users.
    1. Make sure it is USB 2.0.
    2. Make sure it isn't a Hub.
    3. If it is a HUB, don't have any 1.1 devices on the same hub.

  • Syncing taking forever

I plugged my IPhone into my Macbook Pro to sync about 2 hours ago and its still syncing. This happened yesterday as well so I had to cancel the sync so I could go out. What could be causing this? I did purchase about 40 songs from ITunes on my Macbook and add a couple things to my calendar but this is crazy.

    Hi Mo Morrill,
i had the same thing some time ago when initially syncing my phone.
It was because i clicked around in the Settings while the sync was starting up and i accidentally clicked away the window which asks to access my keychain for my eMail accounts.
Rebooting the host machine solved the problem. Some iTunes sync service was get stuck.
Please try to reboot your machine (i did also reboot the phone at the same time)
    Regards,

  • Sync taking forever and freezing

Can anyone help? Normally my iPod touch syncs in seconds, but since yesterday it attempts to sync... then freezes and takes hours... I end up unplugging it. Some songs will be on my iPod touch, some won't.
Any idea whats causing iTunes to be so terrible?

Some folks have found that podcasts or voice memos were causing this. Delete them off the itouch itself, then plug it into your PC.

  • Lightroom mobile syncing taking forever

Lightroom 2015 and Mobile for Android are set to sync automatically. I have 95 photos on my mobile, and 6 more have just been added. The 95 are showing on the desktop, and on the nameplate it is saying "syncing 96 photos" and only one of the new ones has shown up so far. It has been syncing for an hour. I have previously tried disabling and re-enabling syncing, disabling the virus/firewall scanner, exited LR and restarted, restarted the computer and each time it has been stuck in sync mode for ages. My broadband connection is 20Mb/s. How long should syncing be reasonably expected to take?

Hi. Did you trigger a delete data via LR preferences ->Lightroom mobile.
I'm not seeing a catalog connected to your account.
Did you import originals via the connection-kit?
    Thanks
    Guido

  • IPad and iTunes taking forever to sync out of the blue

My iPad synced in 'normal' time, just under 10 minutes, yesterday. Today, the syncing is taking forever! Appears that a completely new backup was done, and now it barely moves. I did not download anything to iPad between these syncs. I used it, charged it, and shut it down and restarted it. Any suggestions?

    HI...
In the iTunes window with the Summary tab selected, check the bottom of that window to make sure there's enough free space available.
If there's enough space, check out the information here for managing content manually.

  • Apple TV sync is taking forever- Will this happen each time I sync?

I just got a new Apple Tv. I am syncing 12 movies from iTunes and about 650 songs. This is taking forever! My question is, if I add a new movie to iTunes and want to sync it to AppleTv, will it take this long again? If I uncheck the rest of the movies for syncing, will it erase them from the Apple Tv? I do not think I can wait this long each time I want to add a new movie to the Apple Tv. Thanks in advance for you help.

I just bought an Apple TV and began experiencing this problem once I moved my iTunes library to an external drive. I have a MacBook Pro so I was quickly running out of room. I moved my library to an external drive that is attached to my Airport Base Station. But I'm having issues syncing and streaming. It begins to sync but goes on and on and doesn't stop. Even when I try to stream the content it constantly stops to load and repeats the process again and again. My external hard drive is a 1TB Western Digital USB 2.0.
I've read about a lot of syncing issues so far. If this continues I'm going to simply return it because it really doesn't do what it claims it should do very well.
Is this a software issue? Is it because I moved my iTunes library to an external drive? Even when I play videos on my computer it still has issues playing back.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  • Sync suddenly taking forever.

Not sure if my installing iphone developer software did this, but since I did, it is taking forever for my iphone to sync.
It is stuck on step 1 of 5 (Backing up).
    Any thoughts?
Been trying to sync this iphone for almost 2 hours.

    Ignoring the SDK stuff.
    1. for now you can always click the X on the status bar of iTunes saying backing up and it will skip that step and move on.
    2. There is a reported issue that has been repeated in here for older iOS's about the Camera roll and backing up taking a long time. Many have found when you save an image to the camera roll from the web or an email that sometimes (nobody isolated if it is size or file type etc) will cause the backup to hang. If you have any photos in your camera roll that were not taken with the camera (eg: you saved to it some other way) email them off to yourself then delete them from the camera roll and try again.
I believe this issue was fixed with the 4.0 updates.

  • Trying to sync my new ipod touch and it is taking forever to sync is this normal?

I'm trying to sync my new ipod touch and it is taking forever to sync is this normal?

At what stage it is freezing?
There are six steps or so.
Try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
