9i database generating error

I am using WinXP Proffessional Edition and setting up Oracle 9iR2 Database Server
Enterprise Edition with Software Only option(my previous trials always fail generating new
database) When ever I am trying to generate a database with DBCA(Database
Configuration Assistant), again it fails when "Creating and Starting Oracle instance", giving
"CreateProcess: null -new -sid MYDB1 -startmode m error=2" and the error follows it
"ora-12560: tns: protocol adapter error" and all operation fails...

Hey people, what would the solution be, how would I generate database without getting headache?

Try this - create the new database with the name/SID of orcl and give it a try...

  • Crystal Report throws Unexpected Database Connector error

    Hi,<br>
    <br>
    We are using Crystal report 2008 CR4E API to implement the crystal report in our application. We use the below code to reset the report data source with our application data source. It works fine for most of the simple queries. But if the query contains any function defined in the SELECT Clause it throws Unexpected Database Connector error. As per the log and analysis we believe the root cause of the exception is it consider that function as column in the table and throws the SQL Exception that "function is Invalid Identifier". Could you please help in resolving this issue?

    i'm also getting the same error when i'm trying to call stored procedure (that will fetch the result set and populate the report) through the query in the report-viewer.jsp. The result set is fetched i.e. when i print the result set it shows on tomcat but it is not getting passed to Table object to populate the report. However when i try to give the query explicitly in the form of SELECT statements, it works fine i.e. i can view the report in the browser. But giving query in the form of SELECT is a very naive way and is ok if u have too less reports not requiring too many joins, thats why i was using stored procedure. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Database Connection Error Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory

    Hello everyone,
    Background:
    I have a newly installed and configured Ubuntu server running Tomcat5.5 and Mysql 5.0. This server was created in an attempt to migrate from a Red Hat server in a similar configuration, running the exact same webapp. Most of the configuration/classpath differences between the two platforms have been ironed out.
    The Problem:
    When our webapp trys to connect to the database on localhost, an exception 'java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission localhost resolve)' is generated.
    The server.xml configuration is below:
    <Resource name="jdbc/EconDollarsDB"
    auth="Container"
    type="javax.sql.DataSource"
    username="user"
    password="pass"
    driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
    url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/DBName?autoReconnect=true"
    maxActive="20" maxIdle="5"
    />I can connect to the database just fine using the command line client and the same username/password combo. This configuration has been working fine for at least a year on the older server. The only similar problems I have found on the net (meaning the same exception is generated) involve applets and attempts to connect to different hosts. This case involves a webapp, connecting to localhost, using a configuration that is known to work! I am simply baffled.
    The following stacktrace is generated:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Database Connection Error
    Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (Server connection failure during transaction. Due to underlying exception: 'java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission localhost resolve)'.

    Hi,
    Its clearly saying the connect permission is missing with the current available policy.
    you add the following permisson entry to the <installed JRE>\lib\security\java.policy file.
    (e.g) C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_08\lib\security\java.policy
    permission java.security.AllPermission;
    grant{
    permission java.security.AllPermission;
    If the application is running standalone then the code is allowed uncontrolled access but for webapplicatons running through browser, the security check is performed for the configured JRE.

  • Unexpected Database Connector Error when rpt has parameters (CR4JE)

    Hello,
    I am trying to call a crystal report from my web-based JBoss application.  If the report does not have a parameter, the report is displayed just fine.  When the report has a parameter, a parameter screen is displayed. When I enter the parameter information and press OK, the report gives "Unexpected Database Connector Error". This applies for both String type parameters and Number type parameters.  Have provided the code below for the xhtml page that contains the bocrv tag and the "reports" bean that it references.  The database is Oracle10g (10.2.0.4).
    Many thanks,
    Travis

  • Database Construction Error

    I am new to Java and am having trouble figuring out why I am throwing this error when running the jar file.
    My code builds the jar file without error, but when I try to run the application from the jar file, I get the error
    in my code that reads, " Unable to open Database!". I'm assuming there is an error in the creation of
    the database and that it is null. I have tried to reconfigure the Java db in Netbeans, but have not been
    successful. Any ideas? My code is below. thanks.
    public fine() {
    // Prevent multiple instances...
    if (!obtainLock()) {
    return;
    Database database = null;
    try {
    database = new Database(SqlEngine.DERBY);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println(e);
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "Unable to open the database!", "Error", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
    MainFrame mainFrame = new MainFrame(database);
    mainFrame.show();
    }

    Sounds like the java version on your Linux machine is not working with the PostgreSQL JDBC driver.
    Try updating your JVM on the Linux server.

  • Generate error list with object detail

    Dear All,
    I have two way (multimaster ) Replication but due to some reason it generated many errors during replicate data so to resolve errors, I want to generate error list (Report) with object details instead viewing them one by one. please guide
    Thanks

    What do you mean with generate error list (Report) with object details ?
    You can get all the errors from DEFERROR view.
    There are columns DEFERRED_TRAN_ID and CALLNO.
    You can join this columns with DEFCALL (DEFERRED_TRAN_ID and CALLNO).
    Joining this two views will provide information about the objects and transaction type involved in the call.
    DEFCALL.PACKAGENAME contains the reference to the table_name.
    DEFCALL.PROCNAME contains information about the transaction type.
    Example:
    select e.deferred_tran_id,
           e.callno,
           e.origin_tran_db,
           c.packagename,
           c.procname
    from deferror e, defcall c
    where e.deferred_tran_id=c.deferred_tran_id
    and e.callno=c.callno(below are the links to the 10gR2 docs containing information about DEFERROR and DEFCALL views. If your database is different version, than search http://tahiti.oracle.com for version specific documentation)
    DEFERROR
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14227/rardeftranviews.htm#sthref2599
    DEFCALL

  • Unknown Database Connector Error   Details: "Failed to retrieve SQL Error"

    Hi
    Getting "Failed to retrieve SQL Error" while trying to refresh the Crystal report.
    Unable to create a new report also
    This is my ERROR MESSAGE
    "Unknown Database Connector Error   Details: "Failed to retrieve SQL Error"
    Previous Error: Query generated multiple SQL statements.However multiple SQL is not supported in crystal reports query panel"
    Any Suggestion.

    Hi,
    Please note that any query that generates multiple SQL statements is not supported in the Query Panel in Crystal Reports.
    I guess this Universe is generating multiple SQLs and hence the error.
    I found this option while I was searching for something else: Could you try turning off the "Multiple SQL statement for each measure" in the Universe parameters and see if it works?
    Also, here's the Universe Support Guide, although old, it is still applicable:

  • Regarding Database Connector Error

    Hi Experts,
        I am using BO Edge Series XI 3.0, Crystal report 2008, Live Office XI 3.0 and Xcelsius 2008. I have connected ERP (R/3) system with crystal report and created report. This report are stored in BOE. Using Live Office XI 3.0, created live office document from this crystal report. In Xcelsius, i have imported live office document and created dashboard and generated PDF.swf file. When i open the swf file with SAP user info, its showing error like this
    soapenv:Server.generalException: Database Connector Error: ''
    Error in File {FC927591-0D5B-475D-A5D5-F770F6E5514B}.rpt:
    Database Connector Error
    The same error occur when i refresh the crystal report in InfoView also.
    The same error occur when i refresh the live office document also. Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Kumar.

    Kumar,
    Make sure you cross check:
    1. The database connector used by the report is installed on all machines from which the report can be run.
    2. The necessary database client software required by the database connector is installed and in the PATH environment system variable on all machines from which the report can be run.

  • Unrecognized database format error when trying to access addin to Acrobat reader?

    I get an "Unrecognized database format" error when trying to access addin to Acrobat reader so I can use Pro to edit a pdf document?  What do I do so that teh ACCESS program aI am generating PDF's from uses Pro and not Reader?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Adobe Reader and Acrobat Professional are 2 different products. Reader is for free and limited as to what it can do an support.
    Add-ins can only use features supported by Reader.
    You need Acrobat to edit PDF forms. Acrobat no longer supports access to SQL databases through Acrobat JavaScript.
    If you have an add-in and Acrobat can use it for filling a PDF form from Access, you need to talk to the developer to see if it can work with Reader.
