A Excepton in EJB 3.0 when I use oc4j

06/11/23 13:12:55 Caused by: Exception [TOPLINK-4002] (Oracle TopLink Essentials - 2006.8 (Build 060829)): oracle.toplink.essentials.exceptions.DatabaseException
Internal Exception: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '"operator"' at line 1Error Code: 1064
Call:SELECT ID, NAME, PASSWORD, ROLE FROM "operator"
The DB I use is MySQL, so it's clear that the sql used by oc4j is error, but how can I remove the quotation mark in the sql sentence?

O, got it.
In the POJO generated by JDeveloper, there is a EQL auto-generated, the table name is quoted like following:
@Table(name = "\"operator\""), remove one pair of quotation-mark, then all right.

  • How to create a deployable ejb(.jar file) when we use Oracle application sever?

    Hi,
    In case if we use Weblogic we give following command on console to create a deployable ejb, while weblogic.jar is in classpath.
    java weblogic.ejbc temp.jar StudentBean.jar
    1)What are the classes or jar files we have to set in classpath,
    2)What console based command(like what I mentioned above for weblogic) can we use,
    so that we can create a deployable jar file in case if we are using Oracle application server.
    thanks,
    Milind

    You can discover the origins of a loaded class programatically. You want to print:
    TheClass.class.getProtectionDomain().getCodeSource().getLocation().toString();

  • Error while accessing UIX pages when deployed using OC4J

    UIX: 2.1.9
    JDeveloper: 9.0.3
    Database: 8i Release 3.
    Using UIX and BC4J, I created few pages for a small application. I installed the OC4J standalone and configured setting library paths and and deployed this application. I extended the UixPageBroker and TrivialPageFlow engine to suit my application requirements. All pages within the application requires the user to login. While accessing a UIX page, I am getting the error provided below. However, if I am not extending the UixPageBroker and PageFlowEngine, UIX pages are rendered with no problem. Can someone tell me what is the cause of this?

    When the application is deployed, it will be creating few files under the directory "application-deployments", of which some are configuration files specific to the deployed application.
    Edit the file: orion-web.xml and uncomment the following:
    <web-app-class-loader search-local-classes-first="true" include-war-manifest-class-path="true" />Save the file and restart OC4J.

    If you are trying to create a Tuxedo service in Java using WTC you need to develop an EJB that implements the TuxedoService interface and register its home in JNDI so WTC can look it up. Once that is done you can then export the service to a remote domain in the WTC configuration.

  • When to use the EJB tier?

    Could someone explain in simple and general terms when, say for a brand new application, you should or should not use the EJB tier over retaining everything in the web tier? Obviously it will depend on what the application is, but how so?

    I generally use EJBs when i want propper transactional support in my webapps as you get lots of stuff thrown in ejbs thats saves me having to write code.
    There are loads of reasons why you should / shouldnt use ejbs though so have a look at these for a bit more info.
    When to use EJBs :
    http://www.jguru.com/faq/view.jsp?EID=126400
    or alternatively .....
    When not to use EJBs
    http://saloon.javaranch.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=11&t=006707
    Hope thats helps.

  • When not using EJBs can I make BD a Singleton and cache facade instances?

    Hi,
    In an application which does not use EJBs can I make BD(Business Delegate) a singleton?
    I was very sure about doing this but when I tried Google on the same subject the answers were'nt supportive of this but that was in the context of applications which used EJBs. And also item 4 in Effective Java isnt very supportive of caching Objects at the drop of a hat.
    When not using EJBs would it be an unnecessary thing to make BD a singleton and cahce Facade instances in a BD and DAO instances in a Facade? I am planning to use a array based blocking bounded buffer for the purposes of caching. Or would it be better to make both BD and a facade as SIngletons and just cache DAOs in a Facade?
    Any suggestion would be of good help to me.
    Thanks a lot.

    Not sure I understand all your design, but you seem
    to describe an architecture where requests are queued
    and handled serially.Sorry if I messed up while explaining it. No, it will not be handled serially. Since the BD is a singleton multiple threads can pass messages to it simulteanously, a bit like an object of the Action class in Struts. Since I dont see having any synchronized methods in a BD requests will be handled simulteanously.
    The impact on throughput of handling requests
    serially (as opposed to parallelizing them) probably
    outweights by far the cost of instantiating one more
    object per request...Yes, I understand that but as I explained above the reqests wont be handled serially.
    To be more clear, I am thinking of using any one of these two things:
    1) BD(Singleton)-->Facade(Singleton, caches DAOs in a thread safe data structure)
    2)1) BD(Singleton, caches Facade instances in a thread safe data structure)-->Facade(caches DAOs in a thread safe data structure).
    the thread safe data structure I am planning to have is a array based bounded buffer which blocks using wait and notify mechanism.
    Thank you for the reply.

  • Read-mostly pattern & EJB-QL question when using Weblogic 8.1

    I want to use the same implementation of an CMP entity bean for the
    read-mostly pattern in BEA Weblogic 8.1 (means for the reader and the
    writer class).
    Therefore my ejb-jar.xml contains the following statements:
    <ejb-name>MyBeanReadOnly</ejb-name>
    <local-home>mypackage.MyBeanLocalHome</local-home>
    <ejb-name>MyBean</ejb-name>
    <local-home>mypackage.MyBeanLocalHome</local-home>
    The weblogic-ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml have the proper
    changes.
    I can deploy this bean & for the corresponding session bean binding
    and calling methods works for the (virtual) read-only and read-write
    entity beans.
    When we are using Xdoclet and ejb.finder methods e.g.
    @ejb.finder
    signature="java.util.Collection findAllValid(java.util.Date date)"
    result-type-mapping="Local"
    query="SELECT DISTINCT OBJECT(u) FROM MYTABLE AS u
    WHERE (?1 >= u.validFrom) AND ((u.validUntil IS NULL)
    OR (?1 <= u.validUntil))"
    the compilation and packaging runs well (as usual).
    During the deploy to Weblogic 8.1 we get errors, because the
    implementation of MyBeanReadOnly's findAllValid(...) should return
    objects of type MyBeanReadOnly instead of MyBean.
    Is there a way to solve this problem
    - and not write seperate reader and writer classes like
    the Weblogic 5.1 sample implementation?
    - and not use the CMP optimistic locking?
    Thanks for any further information.

    Thank YouHi. I wish I could help you more, but so far, from what symptoms you've shown us,
    this is a purely internal Oracle issue to do with what your second user sees or
    can access. The fact that the user is logging in via JDBC or through WebLogic is
    irrelevant.

  • When to use jsp,and when to use servlet?

    I think that jsp and servlet can realize the same functions, because when run a jsp, it is transferred to a servlet program, so when to use jsp and when to use servlet?
    I am now developing the input interface for a website, I just use jsp and javabean to connect to weblogic and database, and I didn't use servlet, Is there any unseemliness?
    Thank you!

    IMHO I use servlets to control the flow between my jsp's based on a number of factors in a webapp. For instance, user authorization. If a user has the authorization to conduct various administrative functions on an application (like change user rights, reset passwords etc) they will have access to specific buttons or links on some screens that others will not. I use servlets to establish what access rights a user has and direct them to the appropriate pages. I also use servlets to test data validity on form input screens. I know that I can also do this with JavaScript but that can be disabled by the client and in order to prevent that I also double check the form input from a servlet. All my jsp's do is display the results of a business process (which is held in a JavaBean or EJB) and the servlets act as the controllers for the application, connecting to multiple databases, verifying application state, flow control etc. I try to keep the jsp as simple as possible as some of them are maintained by html developers who lack the necessary experience to write java code. I hope this helps.

    So after some days i found the answer to my problem, the user i was using when associating the OC4J instance was not in the appropriate groups, so i had to add it to these groups:
    cn=iASAdmins,cn=Groups,cn=OracleContext
    cn=OracleDASCreateUser,cn=Groups,cn=OracleContext
    hope this helps if someone gets stuck as i was :)

  • I got ClassCastException when i use the Webservice Deployeble Client.

    hi, i created a webservice deployeble client. when i use the proxys i got ClassCastException
    here it is my code
    Context ic = new InitialContext();
                   out.println("----1---");
                   Object lookuped =
                        ic.lookup(
                             "wsclients/proxies/sap.com/ClientProxyDefinition/in.mobileone.demo.proxy.WSClientProxy");
                   out.println("\n----2---"+lookuped.getClass());
                   PortableRemoteObject objPortableRemoteObject=new PortableRemoteObject();
                   out.println("\n---3--
                   Object narrowed =
                        objPortableRemoteObject.narrow(lookuped, AdminOperWS.class);
                   out.println("\n---4--" + narrowed);
                   AdminOperWS service = (AdminOperWS) narrowed;
                   out.println("----5---" + service);
                   AdminOperWSViDocument client = null;
                   ClsSuper objClsSuper = new ClsSuper();
                   String strErrorCode = null, strErrorMessage = null;
                   client =
                        (AdminOperWSViDocument) service.getLogicalPort(
                             "Config1Port_Document",
                             AdminOperWSViDocument.class);
                   out.println("----5---" + client);
                   objClsSuper = client.createUser("2", "lakshman", "lakshman", "ad");
    i got the output:
    1-----
    2-----class in.mobileone.demo.proxy.AdminOperWSImpl
    3----
    java.lang.ClassCastException
    plz send solu...
    Thank U

    Hi Lakshman,
    can you please elaborate how you are calling this web service( where you get the stub?)
    Why are you using these lines?
    PortableRemoteObject objPortableRemoteObject=new PortableRemoteObject();
    out.println("\n---3--");
    Object narrowed =
    objPortableRemoteObject.narrow(lookuped, AdminOperWS.class);
    out.println("\n---4--" + narrowed);
    These are used mailny for CORBA objects( while calling EJBs).
    Just remove these line and try.
    Please do come back with the output.
    Regards,
    Piyush

  • Can any body tell me when to use what Bean?

    Hi ,
    I am naive to EJB . I want to know when to use which bean . Pls quote with an example.
    Thanks in advance .
    Mahesh L.

    I would highly recommend picking up a book on EJBs
    Professional EJB - Wrox
    Enterprise JavaBeans - O'Reilly
    Mastering Enterprise JavaBeans - Sams
    These are all excellents books and will explain in great detail with sample code how to program EJBs

  • When we use RMI-IIOP?

    Dear,
    Can anyone tell me when we use RMI-IIOP? When we use RMI-IIOP and
    EJB? When will use JSP? When will use servlet?
    Sorry for that silly question, but i really want to know it?
    kurt

    As I know, If using RMI-IIOP, we have to handle lots of stuffs like
    connection pool, security...etc.
    Am I right?

    RMI-IIOP is useful for:
    a) Interop, i.e. between different appservers
    b) C++ client integration
    Customers also sometimes want it because they have security
    restrictions on what protocols they can put through a firewall.
    It is also useful for light-weight Java clients. RMI-IIOP clients need
    not use the (large) weblogic.jar jar.

  • When to use interface and when Abstract Class?

    In a recent interview I was asked "When to use interface and when Abstract Class?" Explain with an example.
    Also in what situations a class should be made final(real time example)

    Interface is a pure contract with no implementation. Typically used to define a communication contract between two different sub-systems. Example EJB home interface. This also allows the design to change as long as the contract is met.
    Abstract class is when there exists a lot of common functionality already known and can be coded. However, a few unknowns exists (typically about data) for which abstract methods need to be defined and implemented by the sub class.
    Example: Consider a workflow engine. A great example for abstract class. The workflow process has lot of common code that is independent of the workflow type (vendor flow, contract flow, payment flow etc). However, certain decisions on the route to take will depend on value of data being submitted. So the base class will define a abstract Data getData() method and proceed assuming data will come. The implementing subclass will provide the actual logic for getting the data.
    Also see the "Template" design pattern.
    Note: To some extent the common code design drives the behavior of the abstract methods. So if the design changes then so "might" the behavior expected from the abstract methods.

  • AVG Secure Search appears when I use Google Search from my Home page only.

    My home page is the Firefox default page with the Google searchbar. I like getting occasional messages from Firefox when I log in so I don't want to change my homepage. However, when I use the searchbar ''on my homepage only'', I get the unsatisfactory AVG Secure Search results.
    UPDATE: I now realize all the troubleshooting information I included in my original question appears under the "More System Details" link next to the question, not in the body of the question. I have copied it here to make it easier to see what I have already done to try to solve the problem, as well as describe the one clue I have that may be relevant:
    I have tried all the fixes on various threads, but my about:config is now pristine (no avg or isearch mentions; keyword.url is default). Closest solution is that at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/866327 , which requires changing my home page.
    Oddly, AVG Secure Search is ''not'' a problem when I use the Google toolbar or search from the Google website, only when I use the search bar that appears on my home (start) page. This is true even when I return to my home page--if I search from the Google search bar in the middle of the page, I get sent to AVG Safe Search. (isearch.avg.com).
    I read in one thread a suggestion to delete my chromeappsstore.sqlite file in my Profile folder. As promised, Firefox created a new one when I restarted it; however, the search bar in the middle of my home home page did not work at all. Tried this three times before restoring my original.
    I do not have an application that will open a sqlite file, but I tried doing so in Excel and found a cell containing the following:
    emoh.:moz-safe-aboutsearch-engine{"name":"AVG Secure Search","searchUrl":"http://isearch.avg.com/search?cid={7A3C25A0-E345-4507-AA31-D98F596A81A9}&mid=c48135235ba247d18ac1d14b344db451-addd29eab2809954d5abdf0b991a5b911a297819&ds=is015&lang=en&v=10.0.0.7&pr=sa&d=&sap=dsp&q=_searchTerms_"}
    I have no clue what that means, but it is the only thing I can find related to Firefox that still mentions AVG and isearch.avg.com.
    At this point my best guess (but it is a guess) is that the chromeappsstore.sqlite file is a key to the complete solution, but I do not have enough knowledge to go beyond and address it. I appreciate any help you anyone can offer.

    Here is the way to get rid of the problem once and for all:
