A few moments after I open my hotmail, firefox tells me the site isn't safe and it doesn't give me the option to "understand the risks".

I just got a new harddrive installed in my laptop so I had to reinstall all my programs, including firefox. Everything was good until I tried to check my e-mail. I go to the sign in page for hotmail and log on, everything goes well until that. But after a few moments, directly when I try and send an e-mail or forward something it says "Kan op dit moment geen verbinding maken met outlook.com. Probeer later opnieuw" which translated in English means something like "You can't make a connection to outlook.com at this time. Try again later". When I try and refesh it brings me to the "This connection is not safe" page and I don't get the option to "Understand the risks". I am looking for a job, so at this time not being able to use mail is pretty bad. I can still use internet explorer, but you know... I'd rather not. English is not my native language so excuse potential spelling an grammar mistakes.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

• When I go to open a Pages document that I saved yesterday, it tells me that I need to updated Pages. However, App Store doesn't give me an option to upgrade Pages. Suggestions?

I'm not sure why it's not allowing me to open a document that I saved less than 24 hours ago because Pages "needs an update". I open App Store and it doesn't give me an option to update; I assume that it's current. Any suggestions?

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

• How do i open 2 hotmail outlook accounts at the same time? Thanks.

How do I open 2 hotmail outlook accounts at the same time? Thanks.

Safari only lets me to sign in to one hotmail account at any one time. If I am signed in to one account and I open a new window (or tab) the existing hotmail account I am signed in to opens again (I want to sign into second account simultaneously). So I am trying to sign in to 2 hotmail accounts at the same time. Does that makes sense?

My iPhone 4s always keep on closing after I open an app since I installed the new iOS any been really slow since then. Any ideals

First Reset it: hold down the home and sleep buttons, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work Restore it from a backup in iTunes.
If that doesn't work Restore it as a new device and manually load your apps, music, etc.

• I cannot open iCloud documents on my MAC I went to preferences etc and it did not give me access. My error says I need an updated version of numbers but I have the latest version

Mac OSX 10.4
Processor 3.06
Numbers 2.3 (554)
I cannot open iCloud documents on my MAC I went to preferences etc and it did not give me access. My error says I need an updated version of numbers but I have the latest version

You cannot access iCloud on a Mac running Mac OSX 10.4. Are you sure, the system version is correct?
If you are running iWork '09 (iWork 09 9.0.1) on your Mac with Numbers 2.3, you must at least have MacOS X 10.5.6 installed.
if you want iCloud support for iOS apps, you need the iWork 9.3 update, see: About the iWork 9.3 Update
And this update requires OS X Lion v10.7.4
Is your iMac compatible with Lion or later?

• Music app quits a few seconds after I open it

Hi,
I'm having a problem with the default Music app -- it quits about four seconds after I open it. During those four seconds, I can scroll through the list of artists whose songs I have, but if I try to select an artist or change to a different list (Playlists, Songs, etc.), the Music app will close immediately.
All of my other default and downloaded apps work perfectly.
I've tried doing the force restart, but that didn't help. Is there anything else I can try besides restoring my itouch to factory settings?
Thanks for your help!

I have OS 3.1.3 and around 10 smart playlists. I used to turn off Live Updating when I'd sync my smart playlists, but when I updated to the latest OS, I left it on because I thought they had fixed it. >_<
I can't look at my smart playlists right now because iTunes isn't recognizing my iTouch at the moment -- the iTunes and Music app problems occurred at the same time, and I was hoping that fixing the Music app problem would also fix the iTunes problem.
... While I was writing this response, I used MediaMonkey to +sort of+ fix the problem. My iTouch was appearing in MediaMonkey with no songs; I added a song to my iTouch using MediaMonkey, and after that the Music app worked and iTunes recognized my iTouch. Yay!
However, I can't see most of my music library -- I only see the songs I had purchased on my iTouch. I suspect that the rest of my music is still floating around on my iTouch somewhere, though, because now I have a big chunk of memory taken up by (orange) Other data.

• Firefox seems to freeze after a few moment when I switch whatever I have plugged into the audio jack. Any suggestions on a fix for this?

Whenever I pull out my speaker/headphones out of its jack to put in my speaker/headphones Monzilla freezes. Any idea on what it could be?
It completely freezes, and does not unfreeze if I wait it out. I have to close it with task manager which then tells me the program is not responsive. I shut it down, and Firefox does not act like it had a crash or anything of the sort.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See:
* [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
* [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe Mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

• When I open a second Firefox browser window, the URL address window, instead of showing the URL, says "Go to a Web Site;" also, and more importantly, the "back" button is greyed out. This is a new problem, and the first Firefox window I open works fine.

After I open the first Firefox browser window, any additional window I open does not open my homepage, but opens a blank page with "New Tab" showing on the tab. An orange "Firefox" tab with a drop down arrow shows at the upper left hand corner of the screen. All of the options (File, Edit, etc.) are greyed out, however they will work if you move your cursor over them.
The URL address window says "Go to a Web Site". After I've gone to a website, the back button remains greyed out and I am not able to go back to a previous page. My RoboForm and Netcraft toolbars only show up in an abbreviate form. The add-on bar doesn't show up at all.
Again, this is a recent problem, and only happens after I've opened one browser window (which works fine) and then open additional browser windows (as few as one additional).

I had this same problem. Seems to be caused by the web developer tool bar FF extension (this started happening after a recent update to that extension). After disabling it, my FF is back to normal :)

• PDF will not open in my firefox browser although i have updated my jave and adobe, they open in internet explore

I recently downloaded the latest version of adobe reader, jave and the newest firefox version. I think 3.6.4 (but i could be mistaken). Ever since my firefox updated today 3/8/10 it has stopped opening pdf's in browser. All i see is a blank screen or sometimes just the loading blue bar. It will not open. I do not have this problem when i try an open the same files using internet explorer.

See if the solutions in this article help to solve your problem: [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]]. For more information on using Adobe within Firefox, see [[Using the Adobe Reader plugin with Firefox]].

• How do I prevent tabs in the task bar from opening everytime I open a new Firefox tabs from the Start Menu?

I have four tabs in my task bar at the bottom of my computer screen. If I go to Start and open a new Firefox window then all four tabs open automatically. How do I prevent all the tabs from opening?

Home Screen > YouTube App > Settings (Gear icon) > Open Links with Chrome
Slide the button to turn it off.

• How do I turn off the ladies voice that comes on after my voicemail greeting. It tells people how to leave a message and isn't necessary.

On my voicemail greeting that I recorded when someone calls they hear my message and then the auto attendant comes on and tells them the same thing I just said. How do I turn that off?

I don't think you follow what Shane has explained as a possible solution. You have recorded a full personal message but may have done it under the option for a system generated message. A system generated message only requires you to leave your name then it announces the rest of the message (leave your name and number etc) after it plays just your name to the caller.
Try setting your voicemail up again but listen to the options fully to see if you have to record a personal message under a seperate option. Usually a personal message is just the recording of your message and no system voice at all.

• ITunes 7.0.2 freezes a few seconds after I open it

Every time I open my iTunes, it works fine for about 2-3 seconds (enough time for me to go to my music library or to connect to the iTunes store) and then it completely freezes. Nothing looks different on the screen, but I can't scroll, play any music, change folders, or do anything. When I open task manager, it says iTunes is not responding.
I uninstalled Quicktime (and then deleted the quicktime folders from "Program Folders" and "C:\Windows\system32\"), restarted my computer, turned off my security anti-virus program and then repaired iTunes, but that didn't change anything.
No error messages come up or anything like that; it just freezes every time. Thank you for any help you can give.

• My program shuts down moments after I open up a PDF document.

I've uinstalled and reinstalled my program twice and still have the same problem.

As in your other post, try...
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself? If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html
