A Field need to be Freezed based on DFF Segment field.

Hi,
I have 4 DFF Segments on a page.
And the 1st segment is having many values including "Others" in its LOV.
The second segment (Field) is only for "Others". if some one will select "Others" from the 1st segment in that case second segment (field) should be enabled else it should be freezed.
This can be handled if it's not a DFF. Any one has faced such kind of issue.
Please suggest what can be done in this scenario.

can u please elaborate your requirement in a detailed manner ,if you want to freeze a DFF field on the basis of the value of other field then it is not possiblle after page rendering ,but yes if u want to do the same at time of page rendering then it is possible .

Inbound idocs segment fields

Hi,
Iam new to idocs and a functional consultant. I need to know whenever we receive the inbound idocs and if i see the segments of the inbound idoc, do the fields which i see in the segments are the sap fields.????/ for instance if the inbound idoc needs to create a sales order, then the fields of the segments of such an inbound idoc are the normal sap sales order fields ??
do i need to give functional specs to the abapers that whenever the inbound idocs is received the segments fields need to be mapped to sales order fields if such an idoc needs to create a sales order ??

Hi Sachin,
Most of the IDoc segment fields are simmilar to SAP transaction fields e.g. most of the ORDERS IDoc segment fields will be simmilar to what you can see in VA01/VA02 screen fields.
Some fields may have different names.
In the case of few segments which may repeate in IDoc with different qualifiers (such as partner details, date segments), fields will be same but different qualifier value decides where these field values will be populated in the Order.
If you are using standard function module to create Order, it will take care of mapping IDoc segment fields to VA01/VA02 screen fields. But if it is a Z function module, then you need to specify the mapping.

As far as I remember there is no such base report. So, you may try to create it using SDK or request it as custom enhancement from SAP.
If you want to create it using SDK, you can find the required data for report in CUSTOM_FIELDS table.

How to create a field based on DFF on a Page

Guys,
I do have a page where I do have three user enterable columnn. I want to add one more column on the page that should be based on DFF using personalization. I do not want to click this column and then let it direct to some other region or page. I need to enter the value directly as I am entering rest of other three columns. Your requirement is to update a Z Database table from your internal table, right? You have several options:
LOOP AT it_invest INTO wa_inv.
UPDATE dbtable
     SET date = wa_inv-date
   WHERE prim_key = wa_inv-prim_key
     AND any_field = wa_inv-any_field.
ENDLOOP.
or
LOOP AT it_invest INTO wa_inv.
UPDATE dbtable FROM wa_inv. "if wa_inv of same type of dbtable
ENDLOOP.
In the first example, I wrote any field because you can update dbase table, filtering for fields that don't belong to the primary key. However, remember that you will change all records that respect the key you used (so, in your case, use the primary key).

Deriving 1 Value from 2 Fields Based on Values in Fields

I have a query that needs to return 1 of my values based on the values from 2 fields from 2 tables. However, the value should only be returned in 1 field and one of the fields should be evaluated first. If this first evaluated field has a certain value ('Y') then the other field is ignored.
To be more clear, per the normal query below, what I want is to somehow, if possible, combine the case t2.el_contr and case t1.contr_type statements so that one field, say: mbr_contr_type_desc returns a value.
So that if the value of t2.el_contr is 'Y' then 'SUB CHILD' is returned. It is important that this field should be evaluated first (If the value of it is 'Y' then the other field evaluation can be ignored). If this is not 'Y', then t1.contr_type should be evaluated and the values as listed below also returned to mbr_contr_type_desc.
I know the following isn't correct, but it might better illustrate what I'm trying to do (the normal query is below this)

One other (unrelated) question..when i hit the CTRL+LEFT ARROW* button in my SQL window, it will not tab back. This is really annoying! I have looked through PREFERENCES-EDITOR and can't seem to find any setting that will allow this. Do you know of any way to change this so I can tab backwards/fowards through code in the SQL window?

Question on populating a field based on 2 other fields

I am looking for a solution wherein I need to populate a field (say no of days) based on the other two fields selected by the user (say date from and date to). As soon as user selects the value on "date to" field, "no of days" field should be auto-populated as the value from "date to - date from". I have tried using setter and getter methods on all three field, set valuechangelistener on date to field, set auto submit to true and in the valuechangelistener event code, I am doing the calculations as mentioned in the below snippet.

I am getting NullPointerException while getting the value for date from (this.dtDateFrom). I have tried other approaches like attaching a binding to date from field, passing attributes etc but no luck. Can someone assist me in achieving this? Basically I need to populate one field automatically based on values entered on two other fields whenever tab event/user selects value on second field AND it shouldn't fire any other validations on the form (basically partial trigger).

Grant Master field group control based on authorization - hide fields

Hi,
The Grant Master field group control settings are based on grant type settings. So you can hide fields and tabs etc based on the grant's lifecycle status.
Does anyone know if this can be configured based on authorization objects / authorization roles?
We wish certain fields to be hidden in all life cycle statuses for all general users, but for central finance users we wish those fields to be visible.
There is a customizing transaction GMS103 in the SPRO/IMG path
IMG > Public Sector Management > Grants Management > Grantee Management > Master Data > Grant > GM Grant Control : Field group for Authorizations
The documentation for this transaction says:
GM Grant Control: Field Group for Authorizations
It is possible to group fields together for authorization purposes. Use this step to specify such groups in Grants Management (GM).
Standard settings
We deliver the groups you can enter here, as standard.
Activities
Choose New Entries and enter the ID for the group you want to add. When you save, the system displays the longer description for the group.
Further notes
Authorization to a group allows access to all the fields in the group for users with the appropriate authorization. Only allow access to those you know need it for the whole group.
This table is empty on our system. Has anyone used this part of the customizing and can they let me know how it links into the basis roles / authorizations etc.

Here you define which field groups require authorization.

Here you define which activities are permitted:
02 = Change
03 = Display
* = All activities
Procedure
Proceed as follows if you want to use this authorization:
1. Determine the field groups of the fields that you want to protect.
2. In Customizing, define that these field groups require authorization.
3. For each field group, define the authorization that you wish to assign to selected users.
4. Assign this authorization using the corresponding profile.

I have a requirement and I am stuck up in finding a solution. I have a XML form and this has been mapped to a folder in KM. It publishes news. In the collection renderer settings there is an option to sort the news ascending or descending based on created/modified criteria.
The requirement is to sort the news based on a date field in XML form. Can you experts help me in getting the solution for same?
The users who post the news in our portal needs the information to be sorted based on a date field shown.

Dear Guys,
I found out a workaround for this case (If this helps others): :)
*1. Create a Message Text Input type field (representing each DFF segment) and map them to View Attribute (over which DFF was created) and VO instance.*
*2. In the extended CO, in PFR, get the handle of these created fields.*
*3. Set the values as required.*
Since these fields are mapped onto the same view attributes as DFF was, the data goes in fine.
But I still am hunting for the possibility of setting a single segment.
