A Form when modified crashes - toggling runtime parameters temporarily solves problem

A form is running in Forms 6i. Problem arises whenever user gives us requirement to modify it. Whatever modification we do, the form stops running. In fact it crashes and control goes back to Windows. That is the calling ( menu) form also exits.
However we toggle/change following runtime parameters thru
Tools --> Preferences --> Runtime and it temporarily solves problem.
Buffer Records in File & Array Processing.
However it is not fixed what combination of above parameters actually solves problem. We keep on trying and eventually it is solved.
We want to know waht is this problem and how to resolve it.
Note: The form is developed using SQL for purpose of insert/update/select. Built-in EXECUTE_QUERY is not used in this form.
Pl. help.

I don4t know if this can help, but
we had problems with database links
if we defined as db.world
we must put exactly as db.world.
When we use only @db it hanged up.
Out of this we didn4t have similar problems .

  • How could I load image via a Form when it is in runtime by not using default block

    1. How could I load image from my local computer to the database via a Form when it is in runtime?
    2. And how to display the image stored in the database on a Form ?
    Thanks buddy ~
    A nice member answered this question already, but I want to know how could I do it by using manual create block instead of using database item directly~
    Could anyone help me pls~

    This is the only way I know right now:
    1) Create this table
    SQL> desc av_data
    Name Null? Type
    BLOB_ID NOT NULL NUMBER(10)
    BLOB_TYPE NOT NULL VARCHAR2(10)
    DESCRIPTION NOT NULL VARCHAR2(25)
    BLOB_DATA LONG RAW
    2) On form create a button with this 'when-btn-prssed' tgr:
    DECLARE
         v_dirname          VARCHAR2(255);
         v_filename          VARCHAR2(255);
    BEGIN
         v_dirname := 'C:\';
         v_filename := get_file_name(v_dirname, NULL,
         'Bitmap file (*.bmp)|*.bmp|'                    ||
         'JPEG file (*.jpg)|*.jpg|'          );
         IF v_filename IS NOT NULL THEN
    read_image_file(v_filename, 'ANY',
    'av_data_image.blob_data');
         END IF;
    END;
    3) Add this pre-insert trigger too :
    :av_data_image.blob_type := 'IMAGE';
    Sorry if this is not exactly the answer you're looking for.

  • Forms Developer 9i crash at runtime

    Hello to all,
    I am a student learning oracle for a conversion course in IS. I get the following message when running any form after it has successfully compiled: Oracle Forms Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    I use Windows XP Pro service pack 2 on a P4 1.6 GHz PC with 512 MB RAM. The oracle version is 'Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.1.0 - Production With the Partitioning, OLAP and Oracle Data Mining options
    JServer Release 9.2.0.1.0 - Production' and the Oracle 9i Developer Suite version is Release2(9.0.2.0.1)
    Thanks and regards

    Hello,
    Thanks a lot for your reply.
    I've looked under the directory you mentioned but couldn't find anything 'readable', all i found were machine codes. Could you please suggest a possible file name or extension I should look for?
    Also, do you think I might have made a mistake during the installation of the developper suite which may have lead to this problem?
    Thanks

  • When FireFox crashes it says there is a problem submitting my error report.

    With an attempt to submit the error report every time Firefox crashes; I have yet to be successful even once!!

    Once it is submitted the link would usually change to an ID beginning with bp. Please paste one or more of the IDs here and in some cases we would be able to definitely help. If you click a link the crash analysis would be shown. Please also note that Firefox 14 is beta and though it is solid and stable, occasional new unresolved problems could show up.

  • Where are Java Preferences (Applet Runtime Parameters) saved on Mac OS X?

    Hi.
    If you want to modify the Applet Runtime parameters in Mac OS X, you need to use the "Java Preferences" application located under /Applications/Utilities.
    Suppose that I open the "Java Preferences" application, I select a specific JRE version, and I set a runtime parameter of "-Xmx300m" for Applets, in order to increase the max heap size.
    Now, where is this setting saved to?
    Until recent past, these values used to be saved in the <UserHome>/Library/Caches/Java/deployment.properties file.
    But this does not seem to be the case any longer.
    Does anyone knows where are these settings currently saved in Mac OS X? I am currently running Mac OS X v10.5.8 with Java 1.6.0_20 installed.
    Any help / hint would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Marco.

    Why don't you convert all the old 16 bit code into 32 bit code and
    create one application where the various parts all know about each
    other? I don't think that there's any way to coordinate an old 16 bit
    LV and a new 32 bit LV application so that they don't step on each
    other driverwise like they appear to be doing. I don't think that the
    two LabVIEW's even know that the other exists!
    Alternatively, get a second computer to run the 16 bit code on and
    make the two apps communicate with
    each other using TCP/IP or serial.

  • Problems publishing a web-access on Sharepoint: Error when modifying list schemes

    Good afternoon.
    I have an application built with an access database with several forms and web macros which is published on Sharepoint 2010. Through this application - not too big not too complex (ca. 10 tables / less than 2000 records at most) - I receive updates
    that are loaded into external applications, mainly excel worksheets, ms project files and so on.
    I have been going through the cycle of developing and publishing new versions of the application on the same site for more than a year; suddenly, from severeal weeks ago on, I started receiving the following error affecting random tables (not always the
    same) which crashes the compilation and publishing:
    "Error when modifying lists schemes. Changing name to "ID" field on list XXXX failed"
    And each time the list is different. And of course I am no trying at all to change the name of any ID field !????
    Any clue of what might be happening?
    Thank you

  • Displaying Runtime Parameters on Graph

    Dear All,
    I have created a graph from graphics builder 6.0.5.33.0 and want to call the graph from forms6i 6.0.8.8.0
    by passing some parameters.
    The plotted graph is ok. Now I want to show on the graph the values of the parameters passed.
    thanks in advance
    teefu (ghulam mustafa)
    lahore, pakistan.

    dear arun !
    thanks for reply.
    i have already passed the parameter from form6i to graph.
    my query is
    1. how can i display the passed parameter on the plotted graph.
    i.e. on the graph
    From: p_date1 To: p_date2
    what i have done already is
    on the form
    when-button-pressed trigger
    Declare
    pl_id paramlist;
    pl_name VARCHAR2(10);
    BEGIN
    pl_name := 'temp';
    pl_id := get_parameter_list(pl_name);
    IF NOT ID_NULL(pl_id) THEN
    destroy_parameter_list(pl_id);
    END IF;
    pl_id := create_parameter_list(pl_name);
    add_parameter(pl_id, 'P_date1', TEXT_PARAMETER, name_in('BLOCK2.P_date1'));
    add_parameter(pl_id, 'P_date2', TEXT_PARAMETER, name_in('BLOCK2.P_date2'));
    Run_Product(GRAPHICS,'graph.ogr', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, pl_id, '');
    END;
    2. like for running report, on the parameter form we do
    add_parameter(pl_id, 'PARAMFORM', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'NO');
    add_parameter(pl_id, 'maximize', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'YES');
    for maximizing the report.
    My query is what can i do to maximize the graph at runtime.
    thanks.

  • Reports Runtime Parameters

    Hi Friends,
    Is it possible to get back the runtime parameters and show them again when running the reports again.
    Thanks
    Regards

    Save parameters in database in after-parameter-form trigger. While running report again, retrieve from database in before-parameter-form trigger.

    Thanks for the help - I edited the C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\test_domain2\bin\setDomainEnv.cmd file as follows:
    @REM set BEA_JAVA_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\jrockit_160_24_D1.1.2-4 (I commented out this line)
    set BEA_JAVA_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_24 (I added this line)
    set SUN_JAVA_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_24 (this line was already here)
    After confirming ENV's:

  • Forms 10.1.2.0.2: Web Form does not appear at Runtime with CALL_FORM

    Hello there,
    We have a number of forms we're executing as web forms using Oracle JInitiator 1.3.1.22. We have one form in particular that, when a button is pressed, is supposed to call another form via the CALL_FORM built-in.
    We are passing a parameter list to the new form, and executing the CALL_FORM built-in with these Setting Parameters:
    CALL_FORM( formmodule_name => '<OUR_FORM_NAME>',
               display         => NO_HIDE,
               switch_menu     => NO_REPLACE,
               query_mode      => NO_QUERY_ONLY );When we run the starting form as a web form (via JInitiator 1.3.1.22), and press the button to call the other form, all buttons on the starting form are greyed-out/disabled. The called form does not appear.
    I have carried out a number of checks with my own debugging tool (stored procedure writing messages to a table via an autonomous transaction), and forms focus is definitely been transferred to the called form. For example, the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger in the called form is definitely being executed.
    I suspect this problem is JVM-related rather than Forms-specific. My current plan of attack is to request the Application Server Logs tomorrow morning (I don't currently have access to them) and see if I can find any Java-related error messages. However, if any of you reading this have experience of this type of problem and can offer any assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know your suggestions/advice.
    Cheers.

    You could check the settings of the window in the calling form. If its set to "Modal" or "Dialog", and the window in the called form has other settings, the new window might be opened "behind" the old window.

  • Webutil-Problem (not the usual "PRE-FORM", "WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE" etc.)

    Hello,
    We have an application with lots of modules, where we use webutil to create text files on the client for data exports. The export is called in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED Trigger and usually works fine, but we have the following problem:
    If two modules, where webutil is used, are opened at the same time and one module is closed, webutil does not function anymore in the other module. If we then try to create a text file after closing on module, we get the following error-message:
    Oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions bean not found.
    WEBUTIL.FILE.FILE_SELECTION_DIALOG_INT will not work.
    It’s not only the FileFunctions bean, all other webutil functions do not work also anymore in the remaining module.
    This is not the usual “PRE-FORM”, “WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE” etc. Webutil-Problem.
    As I said before, webutil works, but when we close one module with webutil used, it does not work in another open module anymore.
    Any Idea, why this happens and how to solve the problem???
    Kind regards
    Udo

    Hello,
    Yes, both modules work in the the same session and session is not disconnected, when one of the modules is closed.
    Webutill.pll is attached on both forms and all forms in our application using webutil usually work fine with the exception mentioned above.
    It's a bit difficult to explain, what happens in our application, but I try:
    Our application consists of modules that call other modules with call_form or go_form , when the module is open, all in the same session. "Global" Parameters are passed with SHARE_LIBRARY_DATA. Usually the calling forms stays open.
    In the following constellation webutil does not work anymore at a certain point :
    - Open module A (with webutil attached) and webutil works
    - Then module A calls module B (with webutil attached) and webutil works in module B
    - GO_FORM (module A) and webutil still works (while module B is still open)
    - CALL_FORM (module C) (in our case webutil is not attached to this module, but I think that is not the problem) module C closes module B (while module A stays open)
    - After making a choice in module C, module C closes itself with EXIT_FORM.
    - Go back to the open module A, make a new query with the choice made in module C and webutil does not work anymore in module A

  • XSL ABAP:  XI runtime parameters

    Hi all
    I have created an XSL Transformation on the ABAP stack to use in an interface mapping that is called in a Business Process.
    In this XSLT mapping I need to include the MessageId.
    According to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/83/2200cb50d345c793336d9a1683163e/frameset.htm , I can include the XI runtime parameters by including transformation SXI_PARAMETER_DECLARATION in the following way: <xsl:include sap:name=u201CSXI_PARAMETER_DECLARATIONu201C/>.
    Then I try to use a parameter in the mapping: <xsl:value-of select="$MessageId"/>.
    Activating the transformation works.
    But when I try to test my scenario, I can't access any runtime parameters.  They allways seem to be empty.
    Is there anyone who ever used XI runtime parameters in XSL ABAP tranformations?
    Thanks in advance
    T. Boeve

    Hi Thierry,
    as runtime parameters are runtime parameters, you can only access them if you route a message though your process (runtime).
    If you just test your mapping you will have no parameters and so they wont be found.

  • System.NullReferenceException when Modifying Application

    Hi all,
    we're getting the enclosed error when modifying an Application.
    System information:
    SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0, Support Package 5
    Client has all .NET Frameworks (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5)
    Did anyone had that before?
    Thanks,

    Hi Steffen,
    Please review the following steps.
    1. Install .NET Framework version 1.1 and 2.0 on each application and web server. If required, remove the other versions of .NET.
    2. Install the required .NET 1.1 Hotfix by going to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899511. Since your operating system is Windows 2003 Server, install both 237428_ENU_i386_zip.exe and 237718_ENU_i386_zip.exe.
    To configure the .NET server component, take the following steps:
    1. Update your IIS properties as follows:
       a) Go to Control Panel Administrative Tools Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager .
       b) Within the Osoft Virtual Directory properties, uncheck Index this resource.
       c) Update your IIS properties (Web Service Extensions) to allow ASP .NET 1.1 by finding the Web Service Extensions
           property (the path to it differs for different operating system versions), and updating it to allow ASP .NET 1.1.
    2. Verify that the IIS TCP port configurations for the Web and Server Manager components match your own IIS settings:
       a) In the ..\BPC\Websrvr\web\web.config file on the .NET server, edit the AppServer_URL parameter to indicate the port
           number assigned to IIS.
       b) In the ..\BPC\Server Management\OsoftInstall.xml file on the .NET server, edit the port<PORT>port parameter to indicate the
           port number assigned to IIS.
    Please review the steps mentioned in the installation guide. Try to restart the BPC Components
    Hope this helps.
