A lifeline for HD au

Creative Labs?has supported the DVD-Audio format more favorably in the interests of audiophiles in the past. More recently the DVD-Audio player software that was shipped with your X-Fi soundcards have been discontinued.
I've looked at products from Bose, Yamaha, etc. to see whether they have packaged speaker solutions for 7. channel HD audio, and there are none. You really have to know this stuff, things like DTS-HD Master Audio, to figure out that for Blu-Ray movies a 7. channel speaker setup is better than a 5. channel speaker setup. There are salespeople that still push these 5. channel products in the hands of gullible consumers.
Can X-Fi soundcards process HD audio such as DTS-HD Master Audio? Is there likely to be X-Fi soundcards available in the future with HDMI outputs that I can use to connect them to my HD receivers?
Thanks.

Lifeline rates are only availble for phone since it is considered an essential service.
Internet and TV are not considered essential services.

Why is ios6 not available for first gen iPads?

Just found out about this as well, and i must say im very disapointed.
It is fine not to get new fancy features, but when i bought the iPad i was expecting more then a 2 year lifetime. What about browser and security upgrades, html 5, etc. this will make my device unusable very fast.
I was going to get an iPhone 5 for me and my wife, but know im not so sure. Maybe its time to change before getting too hooked on app store.
Really Apple, being the most expensive company in the world and you leave your customers hanging like this? The device is a closed device, which is both good and bad. But it means you are the only lifeline for us, so please support us.

  • HT4858 Photostream/iCloud won't sync with PC.

Photostream/iCloud won't sync with PC. Everything is turned on, works for iPhone and iPad just not PC. Do not want to wipe phone to fix what should be a simple (and paid for) thing. Used to work fine but hasn't in a couple of months, even though no settings were changed. Please help

I have the same issue. My photos stopped on Nov.9th.
I just deleted and reinstalled version 3.1 and it took 90 pictures from my Photostream and transfered them to my PC
Thing is that I have 318 pics in my Photostream. The synching works fine between my iPhone 5S, iPad2, iPhone 3G and iPhone 5.
My wife is getting a iPad Air for Xmas so no idea of how it will work then but I assume it will be no problem.
I have Windows 7 and so does my mom on her laptop and PC which I also connected so I don't have to send her pics but she can just check. I had to update both machines to 3.1 and they only grabbed 85 pictures.
This is quite annoying when you live 500 kilometers apart and all worked fine until the latest updates.
Please Apple fix this asap as it's a lifeline for families all over the world

  • SOA real-time design question

    Hi All,
We are currently working with SOA Suite 11.1.1.4. I have a SOA application requirement to receive real-time feed for six data tables from an external third party. The implementation consists of five one-way operations in the WSDL to populate the six database tables.
I have a design question. The organization plans to use this data across various departments which requires to replicate or supply the data to other internal databases.
In my understanding there are two options
    1) Within the SOA application fork the data hitting the web-service to different databases.
My concern with this approach is what if organizations keep coming with such requests and I keep forking and supplying multiple internal databases with the same data. This feed has to be real-time, too much forking with impact the performance and create unwanted dependencies for this critical link for data supply.2) I could tell other internal projects to get the data from the populated main database.
My concern here is that firstly the data is pushed into this database flat without any constraints and it is difficult to query to get specific data. This design has been purposely put in place to facilitate real-time performance. Also asking every internal projects to get data from main database will affect its performance.
Please suggest which approach should I take (advantage/disadvantage. Apart from the above two solutions, is there any other recommended solution to mitigate the risks. This link between our organization and external party is somewhat like a lifeline for BAU, so certainly don't want to create more dependencies and overhead.
    Thanks

I had tried implementing the JMS publisher/subscriber pattern before, unfortunately I experienced performance was not so good compared to the directly writing to the db adapter. I feel the organization SOA infrastructure is not setup correctly to cope with the number of messages coming through from external third party. Our current setup consists of three WebLogic Servers (Admin, SOA, BAM) all running on only 8GB physical RAM on one machine. Is there Oracle guideline for setting up infrastructure for a SOA application receiving roughly 600000 messages a day. I am using SOA 11.1.1.4. JMS publisher/subscriber pattern just does not cope and I see significant performance lag after few hours of running. The JMS server used was WebLogic JMS
    Thanks

Please tell me-send to me a link-on my email: jumboemail  at yahoo dot com
where can I download Windows XP from msdn???- I understand
that it can be downloaded from msdn as an image and a serial,
    but where?
    thanks

An MSDN subscription is a special, and relatively expensive subscription service that provides access to various software.
From the MSDN Subscription home page: "MSDN Subscriptions act as a lifeline for software developers, testers, architects, IT professionals, database engineers, and others. They provide priority access to new and earlier versions of Microsoft products, including
developer tools, operating systems, server software, and productivity applications. Subscribers can use the software to design, develop, test, and demonstrate applications on as many PCs and devices as needed, which saves a great deal of expenses on software
    license costs during development."
It looks like the least expensive option is $699 (US Dollars) a year.
So, I'd say it's safe to say you don't have an MSDN Subscription.
At this point, I'd suggest you ask on the "Install,
Upgrade and Activate" forum on Microsoft Community.

  • To All those suffering with the 4G LTE Router..Final Solutions (Disconnections, etc)

I wanted to post an update for everyone on this forum.. I've had several threads in here about my MBR Disconnecting randomly as well as it not
passing traffic for Citrix clients, etc.  I've spoke with some high level VZ techs and managers and found that this is all related to the firmware on
the units. The upper level people at VZ know this MBR is garbage in it's current state and are looking to get a new firmware release out soon..
who knows how soon.  The techs I worked with said the only solution for they have been able to provide is either to: 1. Assign a Static IP to the
device (which costs a lot) or 2. Try a new SIM card.   The tech I worked with handles business accts only and he personally has helped over 20 people with this same exact issue.  He said there are definite problems with the firmware and this device shouldn't have been released until these items were fixed.
I wish they would tell the poor 1st level VZ techs this same info. You can do all the resets/reboots you want and it's not going to fix the problem.
He also stated the firmware is so flaky that what works in one instance will almost never work somewhere else.. it's completely random.
Since my company does over spends over a million dollars a year with VZ they were able to get me a Static IP address..but I wasn't even able to
change the APN in the settings. He also said this is flaky bc some MBRs let you change it and others do not (even with the same firmware).  The
static IP is supposed to be automatically assigned when the device is reset to factory defaults so I tried that about 50 times and it still didn't work.
I even tried the NON-VZ Netgear N300 unit I had purchased as a test and I was able to put in the correct APN, but it too would not pull the static IP
even after several factory resets over a 2 day period. Both units were total garbage..
Finally I tried putting the SIM into an old Pantech UML290 USB modem I had and guess what??? It immediately pulled the Static IP and worked
perfectly.  I've been running the UML290 in an old Cradlepoint router and the service has been FLAWLESS for over a week now.. NO DROPPED
connections, NO FLAKY traffic blocking, etc.  Just works perfect as it should.. So I'm sorry to say this but until VZ comes out with a new firmware
release for this 4G Router you are out of luck.   I plan on using this current UML290 + Cradlepoint setup indefinitely or until they prove the issues
with the 4G router are fixed.  Wish I had better news,, but hopefully this will save some of you from sitting on hold with VZ tech support for days
as they run you in circles and tell you to call Netgear to fix the problems....

Excellent post creosote7, thank you very much!  Fortunately I came in here first before even trying to talk by phone to anyone about this.  I have exactly the issues you describe ... inability to play nice with Citrix VPN, and constant drop-offs, connection unavailables, etc.  Being the old Microsoft tech that I am, I just reboot the device and wait until it connects again, after which is usually good for an hour or so.  But I have it connected to a backup battery, so I know it's not flakiness from poor line condition.
What really puzzles me is how it worked fine for a week and then dies, just as AshLee52 reports.  I looked at my usage, and sure enough it was working fine enough to pull about a gig a day for the first 7 days I had it (I had to learn the hard way that my company put MozyPro on my laptop and set it to back up 4GB a day. AGGGH).  But then all of a sudden it drops off.  This smells very highly of Verizon throttling us rather than a firmware issue.
That said, firmware updates have been the fix for me for many a switch, router, and pc problem over the years, let's hope you're right and they release something soon.
Thank goodnes I kept my DSL ... it's slower but has been my lifeline for getting my job done.  For anyone reading, I happen to also have a Verizon 4G wireless hotspot (the little hocky puck style) as well which works fantastically at the same location, so the connectivity issues are definitely tied to this LTE Home router or the VZ home service.

  • My iPad 2 is in a state of constant reboot! Help!

My iPad 2 is currently in a state of constant reboot - cycling continually between the Apple icon and the "waiting" icon (wheel of death, as I've seen it referred to).  It cannot be interrupted, and keeps going for hours until it runs out of battery.
I've tried the hardware reset a few times, which interrupts the cycle, and brings up the Apple icon, but then it just immediately retuns to it's previous state of constant reboot.
I've tried connecting it to iTunes. iTunes recognises it but says I have to unlock it with my unlock key. I cannot do this because it is not possible to interrupt the reboot sequence to get the input panel.
It is not jailbroken, and I'm happy to have it restored from scratch.
I am in China temporarily, and my iPad has become quite a lifeline for me, and am devastated that it's stopped working.
I can take it to the Apple Store here, but would prefer to fix this from home.  However, I also don't want to mess this up such that the Apple store folks think I've tried to Jailbreak the iPad, because that definitely is not my intention!
    Any thoughts/hints/tips?
    Thanks.

Restore seems to be the best option. Have you tried a hard reset ?

  • .Mac sync issues since 10.4.6?

It is now impossible for me to update my iCal from my laptop (this worked perfectly before)--- now I get a sync error every time. It works fine from my G5 tower at home, BTW. So I took my laptop to the Mac store... guess what, it's not a laptop problem. The apple Genius (who was very helpful and kind) could not sync HIS own calendar from the store, meaning there is a .mac problem going on... no resultion yet! This is a real work issue for me, since having my calendar on my laptop is my lifeline for work... Anyone else facing this? Is this a Tiger issue?

Perhaps you didn't see this message on the .Mac main page:
.Mac sync services are currently unavailable. Changes made to synced information will be reflected when the problem is resolved. All other .Mac services are unaffected.

  • IPhone drivers won't load since iTunes 10.1

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I installed iTunes 10.1 almost 2 weeks ago. On Nov 14, I tried to sync my iPhone 3GS for the first time since the upgrade. I plugged the phone in and Windows said it was loading the drivers. Then Windows popped up a little notice over the tool tray saying there was an error.
I've had some trouble like this before, but usually only on iOS upgrades when the phone is in recovery mode. Still, I followed the usual steps. I uninstalled iTunes and all related programs. I rebooted. I downloaded a fresh version of iTunes 64-bit. I installed and rebooted. I plugged in the phone, but still the drivers wouldn't load.
I called Apple support. They walked me through the uninstall again. I turned off my anti-virus and firewall. I verified that all folders related to the apple install were removed. I emptied my Recycle Bin even. Rebooted, downloaded, installed, rebooted. Still not working. Device Manager claims the driver is not for this platform when I watch it try to identify the phone when I plug it in. (Yes, I downloaded the 64-bit version of iTunes.)
Eventually, they told me to take the phone into an Apple store and verify that there was no hardware problem. The phone is apparently fine. They gave me a new cable, but it still doesn't work.
Prior to the iTunes 10.1 upgrade, I had no issues with syncing the phone. I had some issues during upgrades where exactly this kind of thing would happen, but taking it into the store to restore to factory defaults always meant I could recover from backup.
The guys at the Genius bar suggested I wait for the next iTunes update, but it's been two weeks and I can't backup my phone.
Has anyone here successfully resolved a problem like this one? I see some people with similar, but not identical, problems on the forums here, but not all of them have their questions marked as answered either.

I understand that some of you worship Apple and any negative comment about Apple is an insult to them personally.
Not to me buddy boy. I understand there are those who make such blanket statements - if I have a problem or I always experience a problem after installing an iPhone firmware update or after installing an iTunes update, the same must apply to EVERYONE. Baloney. Such a blanket statement could not be further from the truth in regards to Apple updates and Windoze updates. All Windows users do not experience a problem after installing every Windows update but a certain percentage will and do. And there are a percentage of mental midgets who make idle threats at a user to user help forum only - if Apple doesn't do this or that, this will be the last Apple product I will EVER buy. Doubtful there are any fellow user will lose any sleep if you decide to never purchase another iPhone or any Apple product. Win some, lose some. It is impossible to make everyone happy. If you want help, stick to providing pertinent info about the problem only and spare fellow users the idle threats.
Every time when I plug in my Iphone4 to the computer, Itunes automatically recognizes the phone and syncs. It has not done some the past few days since my upgrade.
Your iPhone syncs but not automatically when your iPhone is connected. You must go to all the trouble of having to manually select the Sync button which is having a dramatic effect on your lifeline for work, etc. - having to manually select the Sync button?

  • "connecting" but will not ring

Hey all, I work remotely, so Skype is my lifeline for work. Since late last week, when I try to make an outgoing Skype to Skype call, it shows "Connecting" but never rings. On and off, this is happening when someone tries to call me too. However, they don't seem to have this problem when calling other colleagues (who are using PCs for what it's worth). Chatted with Skype customer service last night and, per their advice, uninstalled and reinstalled. Seemed to be working, but today, no go. Anyone solve this issue? Thanks so much for any help!

    Hi there Mland78,
You may find the information in the article below helpful.
Unable to make or receive FaceTime calls after April 16, 2014
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5419
    Symptoms
If you started to have issues making or receiving FaceTime calls after April 16, 2014, your device or your friend's device may have encountered a bug resulting from a device certificate that expired on that date. Updating both devices to the latest software will resolve this issue.
If you're using iOS 7.0.4 or later or iOS 6.1.6, this issue doesn't affect you.
If you're using these versions of OS X or FaceTime for Mac, this issue doesn't affect you:
OS X Mavericks v10.9.2 or later
OS X Mountain Lion v10.8 with the latest security updates
OS X Lion v10.7 with the latest security updates
FaceTime for Mac version 1.0.5 or later for Mac OS X v10.6
    Resolution
Update both devices (your device and your friend's device) to the latest version of iOS, OS X, or FaceTime for Mac. FaceTime calls will still fail if the iOS device or Mac that you're trying to connect to isn't up to date.
iOS automatically presents the most recent compatible update for your device. If you're using an iOS 7 compatible device and you're still on an earlier version of iOS, you should update to iOS 7.1 or later. If you’re using a device that isn't iOS 7 compatible, you should update to iOS 6.1.6.
If you’re using OS X Mavericks v10.9, update to OS X Mavericks v10.9.2 or later. If you’re using OS X Mountain Lion v10.8 or OS X Lion v10.7, install the latest security updates or update to OS X Mavericks v10.9. If you’re using Mac OS X v10.6, you should get the latest version of FaceTime for Mac in the Mac App Store.
Learn what to do if you still can't make or receive FaceTime calls and you've made sure both devices are up to date.

  • Calls instantly ending

Hi all, Having briefly browsed through the forums I see can that the problem my parents and I having is one many others have also had, and I just wondered if anyone knew what the solution is (I couldn't find one), or if a support rep would be able to help out! Basically, anytime I tried to call my Mum this evening, or she tried to call me, it said 'connecting' for a second or so and then went straight to 'ended'. Bit of background info - I'm using an iPad 2 (although it wouldn't work from my Nokia 5300 either), and my parents are on a PC with Windows. We both have active Internet connections, and could both call my brother who was using a NetBook also with Windows. I also tried calling the test call which worked fine. My Mum and I spoke via Skype on Sunday morning UK time (I'm in NZ so it was evening for me!) with no problems. I tried reinstalling the Skype app, and we both rebooted our various devices. Any ideas?! As I'm sure you can imagine Skype has been a bit of a lifeline for us both with me being so far away and for it not to work would be a real bummer! Many thanks, Michael
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Umm, how is this a solution? I see no solution listed. I have an iPad 3, and my calls have been instantly disconnecting for a few weeks now (since the last skype update).
The calls are from my iPad 3 (on a STABLE wifi connection) to 2 different cell phones. Additionally, at the same time this issue began, I've started having problems with skype failing to connect at all. 1 out of every 4-5 times, skype connects, and 1 out of every 4-5 times calling a cell phone, the call actually works without immediately ending.
I would assume that an support forum called "Re: Calls instantly ending" that has a link which says "See solution" would have a solution other than, "oh it works now." For me, it does not work now.

  • Assign device to a lot

There is a typical problem that we are facing. We are trying to assign a device to a lot using the standard function module ISU_S_LOT_CHANGE. For the first device, this function module is assigning the lot but when we assign the second device to a lot, the function module is dumping.
We have created a Function Module which calls the standard function module ISU_S_LOT_CHANGE.This FM is being called in a loop as we will get list of devices that need to be assigned to a lot.
Can any one please let us know if there is some solutions to prevent the dump. Also, please let us knwo if there is some other Function module that can be used to assign device to a lot. Please be noted that we will have to process multiple devices.
Your suggestion would be of great help to us.

  • WIFI turns off, restart only works

For about 6 weeks now I've been having this problem.  When I cold start my phone, WIFI is picked up (either at work or home) but then in 2-3 hours, the WIFI is no longer recognized or sometimes even turned off.  I can't get it to be re-recognized or to turn back on unless I restart the entire phone.  I have to do this 4-6 times a day.  Any suggestions?  I got this phone from Verizon in July 2012, so wasn't sure what to do.  I'd prefer not to lose all my information, as my phone is my lifeline for business and personal use.

        Hey melbrett!
With the amount of time I spend hooked up to Wi-Fi, six weeks is far too long to be having these persisting issues. So, I'm happy to let you know you've got the right guy on the line here to help fix matters ASAP.
Now, it's definitely very weird that Wi-Fi is disconnecting so frequently whether it's through non-recognition or simply just being turned off. And you certainly shouldn't have to restart your phone to get it to work again. First, I would start by removing the connection manually http://vz.to/11Yhj4h . Then re-add and test. If you still notice problems, put your device into safe mode http://vz.to/ruJiUa . That will disable all third party apps so we can isolate the issue better if Wi-Fi has no issues. No need to worry about a hard reset just yet plus the phone is fairly new. Please give that a shot and keep us updated.
