A problem with plsql trigger in my form

i created two text field and a button(insert) to take the value of the text feild at run time and insert it in the table
this is my procedure
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE insert_value
(brn_id_in_p IN branch.brn_id%TYPE,
brn_name_in_p IN branch.brn_name%TYPE)
IS
BEGIN
INSERT INTO branch (brn_id,brn_name)
VALUES (brn_id_in_p, brn_name_in_p);
END insert_value;
and in the form button trigger (when button pressed ) i wrote this
EXECUTE insert_value(:BRANCH.BRN_ID_TF,:BRANCH.BRN_NAME_TF);
but it gave me plsql error but i dont know why?
note BRANCH is the datablock name and BRN_ID_TF,BRN_NAME_TF is the name of the items

Only write
insert_value(:BRANCH.BRN_ID_TF,:BRANCH.BRN_NAME_TF);
and then give me the error which is prompted...
another problem may occur with the data type which you declared in the properties of the text items
:BRANCH.BRN_ID_TF and :BRANCH.BRN_NAME_TF
in your forms.

I would expect the missing semicolon after:
RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(20605, 'Here is an error.')to keep this from even compiling.
Error numbers are supposed to be negative. That will cause a run-time error when you try to raise the error.
This isn't actually an error, but there's rarely a need to use dual in PL/SQL.
WHERE TO_CHAR(myTableDate,'mm') = (SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'mm') FROM DUAL);can also be done this way:
WHERE TO_CHAR(myTableDate,'mm') = TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'mm');Actually, the condition above would work even outside of PL/SQL.

Problem with people opening my PDF Form

I have people who can't open my Form PDF file - they get an error message. Some of them have version 5, 6 or 7 of Acrobat.
Any suggestions? I have enabled Usage Rights in Acrobat and Saved.

you can inform your clients with a message when opening your form with an (too) old pdf reader version, to avoid problems with using the form.
put following script into the initialize event of the first page of your form!

Problem with the Travel Expenses PDF Form

Hi Experts,
We are facing a strange issue in our production system that the Travel Expenses PDF form is coming as a blank pop up when users raise a Travel Expenses request or try to see the form in 'My trips and Expenses'.
The strange thing is that it is happning for only 3 users in Production system only.We have confirmed that it is not a Desktop issue. We did not come across this earlier while 3500 users are using it for 9 months now.
The same problem is not repeated in Dev, Qua or even in Production for any other user.
The SAP Security team has also confirmed that all relevent authorisations have been given to effected users like other users for whom the same is working
Kindly help me with the same if you have encountered the same problem or can suggest something that may rectify the problem.

Thanks for the reply.
We have checked that it is not a Desktop issue.
Also SAP Security team says that the effected users have been given the regular authorisations as given to other users using the same functionality.
As i mentioned it is not a problem with ADS as the same functionality is working fine for 3500 users for 9 months.

Now I have made an oracle form having data block tbl_address with base table name tbl_address. In the form there are two list: one(list_state) for State_Name & State_ID and another(list_city) for City Name & C_ID display.
Here I want when I set State_name to ASD then List item list_city should be populated with the values having State_NAME=ASD not of State_Name=XY or None.I have tried it to make but not succeeded.I have made a procedure to populate list_city list item as:

Problem with picture insertion in a form created with LiveCycle

I created a form with a picture field. Yet, no matter which size attribute I give to the field, (e.g. keep original size, adjust to the whole field or adjust proportionaly to the field (my version is in French so I am not sure what the English text is exactly for those attributes)) once in the form, the picture keeps streching to the whole field! (I'll let you imagine what results it can give...). Am I missing something?

Problems with the items (control) in forms 9i (Re)

I write this problem in a other post and but don't have any feedback about it(So I will give another try:-) )
The problem that I will describe don't happen all the time and is very rare but I want to know if it's a normal bug of forms or something more special of our PL/SQL code...
So here we are.
Is there others developpers here that have problems with the mouse cursor of the user that seems to be "jammed"(blocked, trapped) in a text item (or another control, like a list item). When this problems happen, the user can't go on another field of the forms with his mouse cursor(Mouse click), the only thing that can resolve that is to refresh the page with Internet Explorer, and after that, he is free to go on another field of the forms.
This problem is very rare but happens sometimes.

Problem with Table display in Adobe Form of Web Dynpro ABAP

I'm trying to display a table in Adobe Print Form (not interactive). The table is bound to the context node in the Web Dynpro ABAP where the cardinality is 0:N. I get a short dump. Don't know what to do here. I'm able to display individual fields from my context successfully. Looks like something is missing when I try to display a table. We upgraded our system(2004S) to SP10 so that we can use the ADOBE form printing in Web Dynpro ABAP but could not apply note 1034425 because of the validity constraints in SNOTE. All the pre-requisite notes are already in the system apart from one note 1029721 which talks about supporting input helps. We don't want to use input helps in our system and cannot upgrade to SP11 because of problems with Business functionality.
Questions:
1) Is note 1034425 absolutely dependent on 1029721?
2) If NOT, can someone please correct the validity so that we can implement using SNOTE.
3) Would it be OK if we manually apply the changes specified in 1034425 without implementing 1029721?
4) If all of the above is not applicable, is there any other note which fixes the above mentioned short dump.
Your help in this matter will greatly help us in using the ADOBE services provided by SAP WDA.

Problems with Adobe Acrobat 10 and forms

We recently updated to CS5 and are using Acrobat 10 and I'm having issues with creating fillable forms. People with either only Reader or lower versions of Adobe are not able to either type in the form or if they can type, when they print, the text isn't showing up. We didn't have this problem with CS4 so I wonder if there's a glich in CS5? Anyone else have this problem?

Problem with a trigger

(1) You cannot use DML to update the table on which the trigger is based. Think about it: your trigger fires on UPDATE so each time fires, it updates the table and fires again. This is what is known as mutation.
What you should do is create a trigger that executes BEFORE the update and simply do
:NEW.factuali := SYSDATE;
If ncontra is not a unique column and you genuinely want all rows of the same value to have the same factuali timestamp, well, it's very difficult, indeed I don't think it can be done. You could try submitting a DBMS_JOB to do the update, passing in the factuali value as a parameter; that DBMS_JOB would have to disable the trigger before doing the update (to prevent the recursion) and then re-enable it afterwards. Which seems like a lot of work: are you sure your design is correct?
(2) You don't need the commit statement: the triggere exectutes within the commit phase of the original update.

Problems with graphics inside fax & mail form

Hi everybody.
I've a problem with compiling some mail forms.
I've to load a logo inside a mail form that can be sent also as a fax.
I tried insert a .bmp image in different ways : graphic node, intranet URL, web URL, but I have always the same problems:
1)When I send the fax , even if the preview shows me the logo, the fax is always sent without logo.
2) Sometimes the preview doesn't load the image.

fields after the main window .But not getting printed on right way gets printed down from the given mesaurement and i get lot of gap betwen the

i thought the the problem is with space .so iwanted to condense it but cannot as it is currency field so move into character fields .but the user want out put in currency format like 22,60.20 if i get the value in char variable i get 2260.20 which i dont want .

Problems with file uploading servlet, the form action doesnt capture url

Hi, i have one problem. I am working on a project , i have created a servlet that takes uploaded files and processses them and links them back to user to download. The servlet works perfectly from my computer, I am using apache-tomcat-6.0.16 and java 1.6 , I have two forms called encrypt.html and decrypt.html, I will post both of them, now the problem is when somebody access it on the internet while i am running apache, they get a connection was reset on a firefox browser and same stuff on Internet Explorer.
i have checked my server logs and saw nothing unusual there, So please if you can help me, it is my project.

Hi, thank you for your replies, I found out few things about my servlet, and its portability
and i have few questions, although i marked this topic as answered i guess its ok to post
I am using javax.servlet.context.tempdir to store my files in that servletcontext temporary directory. But i dont know how to give hyperlink
of the modified files to the user for them to download the modified files.
What i am using to get the tempdir i will paste

and as the servlet is multithreaded by nature, if my servlet gets 2 different requests with same file names, i guess one of them will be overwritten
And i want to create unique directory for each request made to the servlet , so file names dont clash.
one another thing is that i want my servlet to be executed by my <form action> only, I dont want the user to simply type url and trigger the servlet

Problem with plsql block

I have a sql query which i am trying to put it in plsql block.It throws me an error saying i cannot have group function as my two select strings gives me more than one row. How to tackle this??

In addition to being mal-formed it is likely your problem stems from the fact that your query is returning more than one row. Now perhaps you are expecting only one row and your GROUP BY might be getting in the way. Try changing your GROUP BY to include the LOWER function that is in your SELECT statement. But realize that this in itself will not guarentee one row returning from the SELECT statement.
