A Workflow Vision- Fixing R12 Workflow datatabase connection

Question

Hi,
Once I've installed Vision DB on Windows single Node and everything seems OK, I'd like to install Workflow.
Since it's a standard vision install, can someone simply guide me trough what to do to make it connect properly to the Database.
I tried editing the TNSnames.ora.
VIS = (DESCRIPTION=
+(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=apps.vision.com)(PORT=1521))+
+(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=VIS))+
*My SID= VIS, Host=apps
Domain=vision.com*
I did not change default passwords and try connecting out of WF with
user apps
password apps
connect vis
I don't have metalink access at the moment.

Could you please past the VIS entry from the server (under 8.0.6 $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/<CONTEXT_NAME>) here?
on the server tnsnames.ora (D:\oracle\VIS\db\tech_st\11.1.0\NETWORK\ADMIN\VIS_apps) has this for the VIS entry

I see the port number is diffrent from my client, I corrected on the client but it doesn't work with connect string=VIS
Also, from the client, go to %ORACLE_HOME%\bin directory, and issue "tnsping80 VIS", what does it return?tnsping.exe (I don't have Tnsping80.exe) VIS says:
Used parameter files:
D:\ORA_HOME2\network\admin\sqlnet.
TNS-03505: Failed to resolve name
just in case: sqlnet.ora in that directory:
NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN = vision.com
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES)
