AA 9 Standard: Create a Field to Import Image/Picture?

I will be creating a form where the user needs to insert a picture of a bulding per row item. I have looked for a tutorial for this but not successful. I am a beginner at PDF forms; how do you program a field to allow the user to import an image (picture) with predetermined sizing?

Ok.....with a 4 page form with pics, I'll have to try another software...Maybe Access or Publisher...Word is only good for small forms...Currently in Excel but client wants to change to a user friendly format...

Did you delete the receipts before reinstalling?
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

Metadata - creating custom fields for import

When I import I need to add contact details of property owners and there's sometimes 2 or 3 so I've created a custom view and preset and used the "other" tab at the bottom of the Metadata inspector to add the fields: "Contact 2", "Contact 3" and "Cell phone", "Email" etc.
The problem I have, is that when using the "other" tab, I can add a custom Metadata field in the box at the top of that tab, but it won't let me add the field to the view above without entering characters into the Metadata value field, which means that I have to delete the placeholder characters when I'm importing. I just want to have custom fields and a blank box for data entry beside ready for me to fill it in when I import. Is this possible?

Before you can accomplish this you need:

Can I retain PDF created form fields if importing back to indesign?

First time forum user here.
I have been trying to create an active form that would work as an internal approval form for any design job created in Indesign. I saw in other posts here that it is not possible to create this in Indesign so I designed my form in Indesign, created PDF & set up form fields within that Arobat file.
I now want to imprt this back into Indesign whilst maintaining the field functionality with the intention of it becoming a Library item.
Is this possible & what is the direction I would take to achieve this? I am not familiar with XML (which is what I tried but didn't understand what I had created).

It was a bit of a long shot - I was trying to cheat the system somewhat but yes, your response is exactly what I have been coming up with.
What a great function this could be though for Design Studios everywhere and more - Design Checklists/Client Approvals/Printers Notes that can be modified to auto-fill as per set fields. Can sit it in the slug and it would be a great reference point for any stage of the job (well that's my studio/production manager head talking - nice neat documentation... LOVE IT!
Guess I will have to rely on Acrobat to get me through.

You can directly push image to BODS.
In delimited text files, XML files, and XML messages, blob columns always reference an external file. The notation for this external file is <<filename>>.
For example, consider a comma-delimited file format that contains the following three columns:
Column Name
Data Type
Product No
Integer
Description
Long
Image
blob
In the following sample row, the blob column references the external file.
7369,WidgetA transforms questionable data into trusted sources through a singleenvironment.,<<pictures\WidgetA.jpg>>
You can use blob data types in sources and targets and pass them through transforms.

In Address Book, why does Apple let you create custom fields in the Template cards but not have them available for importing?

I open Address Book, go into Preferences, select Template and under the Names field (friend, assistant, father, etc) I add a custom field called "Principal".
I also add two more custom fields in the Email area.
Quit Address Book then relaunch. Add a new contact and the new custom fields, Principal, etc. are there. All good so far.
I have a Now Contact file with about 200 contacts in it. I export all fields as a Text file, Tab delimited. No problems there. With Address Book launched, select Import, pick the text file, leave Text Encoding on Automatic and click Open.
The window that shows the fields for Address Book and fields for the text file side by side opens. This is where you match up the correct fields for importing. If I go to one of the fields from the text file that I created a custom field for, click under the Address Book heading on the Do not import, scroll thru the Apple choices of fields, none of the custom fields show up. Only the original Apple ones are there. Why does Apple let you create them in the Template area but not have them available for importing? Does anyone have suggestions on getting around this?

While most likely not of interest to you, Spotlight can also tell you where the files it finds are located
Hover the mouse pointer over the name, and press Command-Option and the path to the file will be displayed.
As for opening a terminal session in the directory where a file is located, there is Applescripts that do just that as well as specific features in Lion/Mountain Lion terminal:

Creating a new Search Help on a standard SAP table field?

Good day, everyone!
As part of a report I am writing, the customer would like to have Search Help added to the AUFEX field in table AUFK. They would like this functionality so that when they are changing an order via t-code ko02, they can get a list of valid values to put in field AUFEX. I would like to tie it to a zTable I've created; in my zTable, I have just 2 fields: a key value (that will go into AUFEX) and a text description of the key value. This zTable is used in my report.
While I've created a Search Help on this table already for table maintenance, I've never added a custom Search Help to an existing standard SAP table field before. I've done some Googling and other searching to see what I need to know, but I've only been able to find information on Collective Search Helps. AUFEX doesn't yet have a Search Help field, so I don't think Collective Search Helps is my answer.
Is this possible? Can I add a custom Search Help to a standard SAP table field that doesn't have any Search Help linked to it yet? Is there an existing thread or guide somewhere that can tell me how to do this?

Yes u can: u can assign the search help to (A) data element livel or (B) field table livel.
After creating your search help:
A) Run SE11, insert your data element (AUFEX), press edit and insert the search help in "Search Help" area on DEFINATION tab;
B) Run SE11, insert your table (AUFK), press edit, place the cursor on your field (AUFEX) and go to GoTo->Search help->for field
But u should consider it'll mean to change a standard object for both cases: so u need to get the access key from your OSS.

Created "Hierarchy Field" not saved in Import Mapping File

Hello experts,
I want to save the mapping created after having imported categories via MDM Import Manager.
Everything works fine as I execute an initial import (In "Map Field" tab, I create a "hierarchy field" based on the three fields "Categorie Name, Categorie Name 2, Category Parent" and mapp the Split Hierarchy field consequently ).
My problem is as I save the Mapping and try to reuse it for a new Categories import, the former "hierarchy field" does not appear anymore. I assume Saving Mapping does not save created hierarchy fields...
Can anyone help me on this?

From XML, with fields "Category Name, Category Parent".
Then in MDM Map Tab, I clone the Field "Category Name" and create the Hierarchy Field with name "Categories", parent field "Category Parent", Child Field "Category Name", and Node name field "Category Name Clone".
Then I map the Split Hierarchy field with the destination field "Category Name [DF]", and the source field "Category Name" with the Remote Key.
The matching field in Match Record Tab is "Category Name [DF]".
I save then the mapping file but am not able to reuse it : as I said, the Hierarchy field disappears !

Dynamically created text field doesn't appear when imported

I have 2 issues regarding dynamically created text fields.
What I'm trying to do is to create a text field inside a swf file,
then import that swf into another file. The main problem is, the
text field is created and displayed perfectly when i execute the
first swf, but when i try to import the whole thing into another
file, the text is not displayed.
I have to point out that, when I add "stage" before the
addChildAt command, the text appears, but I don't want the
coordinates of the text box depending on it's location on the
stage.
The second problem is, I want the scroll buttons to appear if
the text is longer than the text box, however they appear no matter
what. I trace the values and they are correct, so I can't really
understand why they keep appearing.

The same thing is happening to me and it is starting to get annoying. I too am using Chrome and I think that might just be part of the issue. I am running a Macbook Pro 2010 13". Any insight on this would be helpful. Sorry I don't have a solution, but know that your not alone in dealing eith this issue.

Create new field in standard CNE5 alv report result

Dear all,
I would like to have a new report based CNE5 report, so I had copied RCNST000 to ZRCNST000. Now I would like to modify this new report.
1) To add additional fields (some from SAP standard and some fields are not from SAP standard)
     - Level ( PRPS-STUFE)
     - Comment ( will be in Z table)
    - etc.
2) Then, I would like to set the default fields display in this report when every time this report executed.
All the fields in CNE5 should also be added if user selects the "Choose Fields" option from the menupath.

My plan was to create a vault(put all my master files into an external harddrive) and then delete all my projects in my mac pro's harddrive. Is it the correct way to do it ? What should I do if I have thousands of raw files ? How should my workflow be? Can I use an external HD and use aperture through the vault,without keeping the master files on my computer's hard drive?? Or should I shoot raw+jpeg and store raw files in an external backup harddrive and import only jpegs into my aperture library?

There's a bit to learn. It will slowly make sense.
Aperture is an empty field. You're given a tractor and a whole bunch of attachments. What you grow, how, and where, is entirely up to you.
Vaults are for back-up and only for back-up. They have nothing to do with storing your working files.
When your Library outgrows your system drive (and for good performance, you should leave c. 20% of every drive empty), it's time to convert some of your image's Masters from Managed to Referenced. ("Managed" and "Referenced" refer to Masters, not to Libraries.)
There are hundreds of posts in the forum, and several pages in the User Manual on using Masters.
Many people run Aperture with the Library on their system disk, and most (or all) of their images' Masters on external FW drives. This is a good set-up. Note that you will likely have to take steps to back-up the data on your external drives.
If you do the above, there should be no reason to delete any Projects.
The choice of RAW or RAW+JPEG or JPEG depends on the kind of work you are doing. I capture RAW only -- but I don't do any commercial shoots. Pros on deadlines report that the RAW+JPEG works well for them. Capture JPEG if it saves you time. IMHO, there is not a good reason to shoot JPEG to save space (space is cheap; time expensive).
Short-term solution: buy and use a FW800 external 1 TB drive, formatted "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)", and using Aperture relocate the Masters of all images older than 30 days to that drive. (Be sure to change your back-up strategy to include this new drive; you may need a second new drive.)

the properties of the table has enable the creation of mapping key. but during the mapping in import manager, i cant find any way to map the key mapping..

Hi Shanti,
Assuming you have already defined below listed points
1) Key Mapping "Yes" to your lookup table in MDM Console
2) Created a New Remote System in MDM console
3) proper rights for your account for updating the remote key values in to data manager through import manager.
Your sample file can have Material Group and Code alone which can be exported from Data Manager by File-> Export To -> Excel, if you have data already in Data Manager.
Open your sample file through Import Manager by selecting the remote system for which you want to import the Key mapping.
(Do Not select MDM as Remote System, which do not allows you to maintain key mapping values) and also the file type as Excel
Now select your Soruce and Destination tables, under the destination fields you will be seeing a new field called [Remote Key]
Map you source and destination fields correspondingly and Clone your source field code by right clicking on code in the source hierarchy and map it to Remote Key if you want the code to be in the remote key values.
And in the matching criteria select destination field code as a Matching field and change the default import action to Update NULL fields or UPDATED MAPPED FIELDS as required,
After sucessfull import you can check the Remote Key values in Data Manager.

Map Auto ID field in import manager

Hello all
I need to make a quick fix to the data in our repository. A field needs to be updated based on a small formula. To do so I have syndicated the information and imported it to and SQL database where calculated the result. I exported it to a text file.
Now I need to create a map to update the field. However the only common ID is the auto ID field I have set up. I can't map the source to the destination - the map button is grayed out when I select the auto ID field.
Is it not possible to map it or is it because the auto ID field is numeric and my import is text.

Hi Alexander,
It is true that the Auto Id field cannot be imported or syndicated.But as you said you have used only the auto id field as the Primary matching fiel dand you need the Auto id information only so as to import then a workaround i would suggest
- Create a new field in your repository in console say(Auto id1)
- Make this field as calculated field
- In the calculation expression just selct the auto id field from the dropdown
- This will populate the autoid field1 with the values same as the auto id field
- And then try mapping it to this newly craeted field while importing.
- This is just a workaround i am not sure whether it will address your problem directly
