Abap - incompatible type error

Hi Experts,
I got the requirement to change spell_amount function module into Z_SPELL_AMOUNT Function module. Sap has givin some modifications in spell_amount function module. so i have done those changes in Z_SPELL_AMOUNT FM
After changing the code... the errors says that INT_ZAHL and UP_ZIFFER are type incompatile
please find the following code which i changed,
in the below coding it is showing error in the following statement
DO 15 TIMES VARYING up_ziffer FROM int_zahl0 NEXT int_zahl1
In SPELL_AMOUNT function modue contains this ZIFFERN_IN_WORTEN subroutine
Thanks in advance.
Jeyanthi.

Dear Dinesh,
previously the variable declaration  was
up_ziffer(1) TYPE c,
in correction i have changed like
up_ziffer(1) TYPE n,
there is no correction with int_zahl.
previousely that do statement was
DO 15 TIMES
then changed as per correction in the notes
like below
DO 15 TIMES VARYING up_ziffer FROM int_zahl0 NEXT int_zahl1.
Thanks.
Jeyanthi

  • Incompatible types error on a for loop

    Hi. I am in the middle of making a program and a decided to make a print statment to check to make sure everything was organized as it should be and I got an incompatible types error for the line where I start my for loop - for (index = 0 ...) etc. Since everything is an int, I'm not sure how they're not compatible with each other.. thoughts? here's my code so far, thanks

    i am not getting what's wrong with itYou're not going to like this advice, but still you must learn to help yourself. If you've not done so, please look at the API on the LinkedList toArray method. If it doesn't make sense to you, then ask specific questions about what in the API you don't understand.

  • Incompatible types error in instanceof operator

    inconvertible types error. I have no idea why???
    class A
    class B
    public class Test2
    public static void main(String[] args)
    {     A a = new A();
         B b = new B();
    if (b instanceof A) System.out.println("b is child of A");
         if (a instanceof B) System.out.println("a is child of B");

    The compiler can tell that a isn't an instance of B and b isn't an instance of A. It doesn't need to wait until runtime. So it doesn't waste any time, it tells you that.

    TotalIncomeField is a JTextField object reference, not a numeric value holder. What you may want is to put the string representation of the calculation into the CONTENTS of the JTextField. There is a setText method for that.
    TotalIncomeField.setText(theText);
    I'll assume you can work out how to turn the calculation into a string representing that calculation.

    But when I try to assign an ArrayList<Number> object an ArrayList<Integer> object it gives an imcompatible types error.
    Shouldn't it work?

    I've never seen ArrayList<? extends obj> before.Nitpick: it's not "? extends obj" it's "? extends SomeClass".
    "obj" kind of implies that you could use a variable/field here, which is wrong.
    I thought it would be able to hold an object which extends what it's supposed to hold.A List<? extends Number> could contain any class that extends Number (as well as Number itself if it weren't an abstract class). However you can't add anything (except null), because you don't know the concrete type at this point.

    Kris,
    try changing the code to :
    java.util.ArrayList runtimeErrors = container.getExceptionsList();apparently container.getExceptionsList() returns a java.util.Arraylist not a com.sun.java.util.collections.ArrayList

  • Email Alert for Process Chain for ABAP Process Type

    Hi BW Experts,
                             I created a process chain based on ABAP Process Type ( for Broadcasting rsrd_broadcast_starter). I want to add alert message for each ABAP process if it is failed. But I cant see any option showing Successfull or Error or Always when I select create message option on the process type. How ever I can see for other process chain which is loading data (Process Type is Info Package ) from SAP into BW.
                             Please some one tell me why it is not showing alert message for ABAP Process Type.
    Thanks
    Ganesh Reddy.

    I dont have the exact answer for your question, But as a work around i can suggest you that.
    If these ABAP programs are included in a chain and this local chain is a part of meta chain then you can create a message on the local chain.By right clicking on the local chain >Create Message>Success
                                                                                    --->Failure
    >Always
    Hope this resolves the problem tempervorly.I will get back to you once i have
    Or the permanent solution is
    Its big and also easy method to perform, by this you will be able to get all the options for a ABAP Program also.If you have any questions please let me know.

  • Incompatible types - found java.lang.String but expected int

    This is an extremely small simple program but i keep getting an "incompatible types - found java.lang.String but expected int" error and dont understand why. Im still pretty new to Java so it might just be something stupid im over looking...
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    public class Lab
    public static void main(String []args)
    int input = JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Input Decimal ");
    String bin = Integer.toBinaryString(input);
    String hex = Integer.toHexString(input);
    System.out.println("Decimal= " + input + '\n' + "Binary= " + bin + '\n' + "Hexadecimal " + hex);
    }

    You should always post the full, exact error message.
    Your error message probably says that the error occurred on something like line #10, the JOptionPane line. The error is telling you that the compiler found a String value, but an int value was expected.
    If you go to the API docs for JOptionPane, it will tell you what value type is returned for showInputDialog(). The value type is String. But you are trying to assign that value to an int. You can't do that.
    You will need to assign the showInputDialog() value to a String variable. Then use Integer.parseInt(the_string) to convert to an int value.

  • ABAP Dictionory type FLTP is nt allowed for  screen Painter!!

    Hello All,
    ABAP Dictionary type FLTP is nt allowed for  screen Painter!!  am getting this error message if am giving some input.
    Thanks

    Hi
    Instead of FLTP use Quantity or Currency or Packed Decimals type fields for the Screen Elements.
    While you save the data into the database if the database field is of type FLTP the values entered would be automatically converted into FLTP type. We need not take care of this.
    ---?? What do you mean by IDES version --->
    You mean in SE11 or SE16, Wherever it may be you can not use FLTP type on Screen Fields.
    This is Standard SAP Procedure, As mentioned Above you can use Packed Decimals or Currency or Quantity Fields
    Cheers
