About bdc recording

Hi Experts,
i am working with " ZTOOLREV ' transaction code. i filled all the mandatory fields. which is required. i have done the recording.  i maintain one function module in se37. and converted this fm to web service.  that i have to send to my client
he will send the data through same web service.              here i maintain internal table mess_tab. here
i used EXPORT mess_tab TO MEMORY ID 'TOLLDATA'.
so i will use IMPORT mess_tab TO MEMORY ID 'TOLLDATA'.  i think data is in internal table.     so what to do after. how the data comes in ztoolrev after recording. using bdc call transaction.
i mean to say that the mandatory fields given by my client. how it is going to come in recording time. after that i am using save_text fm to save data.
Please guide me.

My 'expert opinion? What are you doing?
You created a BDC recording, fm (for web service), IMPORT TO MEMORY ID, EXPORT TO MEMORY ID, SAVE_TEXT....Why?
1. Are you providing a web service or consuming one? I guess both according to you post:
he will send the data through same web service
Same webservice?
2. What does this mean? Where and why did you use this and why would you want to use both?
i used EXPORT mess_tab TO MEMORY ID 'TOLLDATA'. so i will use IMPORT mess_tab TO MEMORY ID 'TOLLDATA'.
3.
i think data is in internal table.
. You think? If you don't even know, why would any 'outsider' do?
4. Where does the bdc fit into this 'picture'?
5. FM SAVE_TEXT......, again why, what is it for?
For you the expect any kind of answer, first make clear what it is you are trying to do here. Next ask a specific question. According to your posts you have been working on this ZTOOLREV transaction for quite some time now. So I guess, the requirement should be more than clear to you, correct? Explain it to us.
The way I see it now, it should be something like this:
1. You created a BDC recording for your ZTOOLREV transaction.
2. This BDC recording is called from within the webservice which is being called from an external application from your client (or is this 'client' the client you are now working for?).
3. One of the parameters is an internal table called MESS_TAB.  My guess is that this is the internal table used in CALL TRANSACTION for storing all messages in BDC recording. But where is the data for starting your BDC recording?
4. Data from the calling application (mess_tab) is used to fill the BDC recording.
5. At end of BDC recording you are doing a CALL TRANSACTION and return messages (MESS_TAB).
Leaves us with some unanswered questions like EXPORT and IMPORT TO MEMORY ID and FM SAVE_TEXT.

    Hi ..
by using BDC how to upload flat file(legacy system) to sap System..in BDC which method is mainly using in real time..can you please send me some FAQs for me about Reports, smart forms,BDC,LSMW,ALV(ABAP List viewer),sap scripts,Module pool.a

    Hi
Call Transaction method makes an immediate call on the transaction and upload starts immediately.,
Session method only creates a session of the whole recording including all the values that have to be inserted,it does not insert values into the system. This session can be invoked anytime to upload values
In short call transaction is immediates
    session is not immediate
    Session method is faster
    Synchronous is simoultaneous upload
    Asynchornous is non-simultaneous upload
    Start with this.Refer this

    Remote Function Call:
RFC is an SAP interface protocol. Based on CPI-C, it considerably simplifies the programming of communication processes between systems.
RFCs enable you to call and execute predefined functions in a remote system - or even in the same system.
RFCs manage the communication process, parameter transfer and error handling.

  • Capturing warning message in BDC recording

    Hi all,
I want to capture a warning message that is getting popped during BDC recording. When BDC is ran in background, it is stopping at that point and further processing is stopped with the display of this warning message.
Can anybody help me in capturing this warning message?
    Thanksm
    Archana

    Hi Avinash,
I am trying to change the profit center using this BDC. So, when i change it, this warning is displayed and it goes inside one more window and coreects the new profit center added in the previous window. So, this warning message is necessary to be displayed. But my problem is that because of this message my BDC is also not proceeding further.
    Hi Bhavesh,
The warning message is getting displayed as a pop-up. I am not getting any information about the screen number. I know the prgram for that but no the screen number. And can you please tell me what that piece of code does? So that i can try it out in my BDC.
    Thanks,
    Archana

Before you work with the Batch Input methods, you should know the purpose of the tool
    Transaction Recorder.
    <b>Use:</b>
You can use the transaction recorder to record a series of transactions and their screens.
    <b>Features:</b>
You can use the recording to create
Data transfer programs that use batch input or CALL TRANSACTION
    Batch input sessions
    Test data
    Function modules.
Note: It doesn’t record F1, F4 and Scrollbar movements

    <b>Step #1</b>
Use “System&#61664;Status” menu path to determine online program name (SAPMF02K), screen number (0110)
    <b>Step #2</b>
Use “F1” key and “Technical Info” pushbutton in each screen field to be filled to determine the field name.
    <b>Step #3</b>
Determine how to proceed in the transaction
(save the record by clicking on the ‘Save’ pushbutton or pressing the ‘F11’ key).
    <b>BDC Table Contents</b>
After researching the transaction we can determine the contents of the BDC table.

    <b>Batch Input Methods</b>
    “CALL TRANSACTION USING”
    STATEMENT
<b>Call transaction - for data transfer</b>Processing batch input data with CALL TRANSACTION USING is the faster of the two recommended data transfer methods. In this method, legacy data is processed inline in your data transfer program.
    Syntax:
    CALL TRANSACTION <tcode>
    USING <bdc_tab>
    MODE <mode>
    UPDATE <update>
    A Display all
    E Display errors only
    N No display
    S Synchronous
    A Asynchronous
    L Local update
<b>The process flow of CALL TRANSACTION</b>
A program that uses CALL TRANSACTION USING to process legacy data should execute thefollowing steps:
Prepare a BDCDATA structure for the transaction that you wish to run.
Prepare a internal table to store error messages Tab_Mess like structure of BDCMSGCOLL.
With a CALL TRANSACTION USING statement, call the transaction and prepare the BDCDATA structure. For example:
CALL TRANSACTION ‘MM01' USING BDCDATA MODE 'A' UPDATE 'S'. MESSAGES INTO TAB_MESS.
    IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
    <Error_handling>.
    ENDIF.
    <b>Overview of Batch Input Session</b>
The first batch input method is to create a batch input session. It is the processing of this batch input session that updates the database, not the execution of the batch input program.

  • Problem in BDC Recording

Hi I am having a problem in BDC Recording. My requirement is that when I input data in transaction fb02 to block the invoices, It shows a list of invoices. Now i need to double click that item(line) in which PK = 06 at runtime during bdc recording. During BDC recording it takes the line number on which we have clicked which is constant but i want it dynamic that if item 1 is having PK=6, that line should be double clicked and if item 3 is having PK=6, the third item should be double clicked to open another screen. Kindly help me... Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ravi,
While writing your code that is in your code you know which line number is having the PK = 06, then you can use the same line number and add the code for double click after that.

    Hi,
It is better if the Material Master creation step is done by LSMW - Direct Input method with the following object:
    Object               0020   Material master
    Method               0000
    Program name         RMDATIND
    Program type         D   Direct input
Check the program documentation for more details.
For a sample data file generation ( Sequential file ),  check the program RMDATGEN
If the reqmt., is for a repetetive loading of Material Master you could schedule / execute the LSMW by following program: /SAPDMC/SAP_LSMW_INTERFACE.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need help for bdc recording TC fp05

    Hi,
My requirement is: I want to create a Payment lot using fp05 and then post
                                it through a program.
First i want to know is there any BAPI available to do that.
I couldnt find any BAPI. That is why i did BDC Recording. The recording is working till Payment Lot creation. But after creation when i try to post the lot, it is giving status as "Direct Posting Stopped". Again if i come out of the program and then manually post it, it is working fine. But through program if i try to post it, it is giving status as "Direct Posting Stopped".
Is this because we cannot Post a Payment Lot programatically or some Authorisation issue is there.
    Can anyone respond immediately
    Regards,
    Sheron

  • How to use BDC recording in Workflow.

    Hi experts,
Anyone kindly help me for the following case...
If sales order gets created, mail has to be sent to every user. Also for that sales order, delivery should be created in background and again mail has to be sent to all users...
I m clear with sending mail. but i m struggled while creating delivery in background. i dont know how to do this. I hav an idea that it can be created using BDC recording and this recording program can be called in our method which is created in our business object.
How to create a single BDC recording to create sales order as well as creating delivery in background... Is it possible to do like this. Or is there any function module to create delivery in background with respect to sales order number?
kindly give some suggestion and step by step procedure to do this...
    Thanks in advance...
    Regards
    Raaams...

    Hi Ram
    Check this BAPI once BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CREATE_SLS.
If this doesnt help do BDC recording and create a FM with the help of BDC recording. Please note that Call Transaction should happen in background otherwise your BDC wont work.
Please revert back if you have any queries.

  • Problem with SM37 BDC recording

    Hi ,
I want to change the output device for the job scheduled of 1000 pgms in SM37.
For this i am using BDC recording.
But when i run the recording, it does not fill the data and does not move from 1 screen to other screen.
I have checked the recording, and everything got recorded.
    Please suggest .
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Why not make things simpler by using FM BP_CHANGE_JOB_STEP.  Parameters required are:
    JOBNAME
    JOBCOUNT
    STEP-PROGRAM & STEP-TYP (equal to 'A')
    STEP_NUM
    ALLPRIPAR-PDEST
Presumably you will have the info for JOBNAME, JOBCOUNT etc from your BDC feed.  To preserve the rest of the print parameters then use something like FM BP_JOB_READ and fill in ALLPRIPAR fields.
    Thanks,
    Pete

  • About bdc rec & usage in target prog

where to insert the forms & code of this bdc_rec in my target program.
please, can u give me a step wise like u did earlier for recording.
i would be thankful to u for this detailed help.

    Hi,
You can see that there are two types of performs in the BDC recorded program
Perform for screen, Perform for fields and Perform for transaction.
After the recorded program is created.
    1. copy all performs into new program.
    2. write the FORM...ENDFORM for the given performs (as given at end of sample program below).
    3. Now for those fields where you have entered the values at the time of recording, replace the screen fields in the perform by values which you want to pass.
    Eg: PERFORM bdc_field         USING 'RL02B-MBLNR'
                                               gt_headret-mat_doc.
Above step indicates that material document number from internal table gt_headret is passed to screen field 'RL02B-MBLNR'.
similarly replace all the other fields accept those which capture the events like 'enter pressed'.
    Refer below program:
    REFRESH itab_bdcdata.
        PERFORM bdc_dynpro      USING 'SAPML02B' '0203'.
        PERFORM bdc_field          USING 'BDC_CURSOR'
                                                'RL02B-LGNUM'.
        PERFORM bdc_field          USING 'BDC_OKCODE'

        PERFORM bdc_field         USING 'RL02B-MBLNR'

        PERFORM bdc_field        USING 'RL02B-MJAHR'
                                              gt_headret-doc_year.

  • Alerting about new records in to the database (in perticular table).

    Dear membsers,
Alerting about new records in to the database (in perticular table).
i have a sample application like this.
A form based on purchase_requisitions, the data being entered from a network computer by a user with datanetry privileges. let's say the columns are
req_id,req_date,red-from_dept,req_from_emp,req_item_req_qty,req_status. (initially by default req_status is 'NEW').
    next..
i have a form based on Pending_requisitions_view for the managers who approves the requisitions, the columns are just req_date,req_from_dept,req_from_emp. all the pending requisitions will come here every 5 minitues it gets refreshed by a timer. and it is a multi record block. from here the manager selects the record and he changes the status to APPROVED or DENIED. this is common scenario.
here is the main problem, the manager has to keep open his form all the time, or if he is working on any other things/forms, it is not possible for him to see requisiotns unless he has to open that form and timer re-freshes the records then only he can see. and again when the application in minimised state we cant see any updates/new entries into requissitions.
im trying to make a full pledges online system. im using Oracle 8i,forms 6i under win 2000.
is there any possibility if there is any new records gets into that table we can have alerts like Yahoo messenger it changes color to Blue when it gets new message if it is minimised state.
Please im keen to get this type of environment.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    i tested like this,
create a table-1 with tow coumns
table-2 clone to table-1, on table-1 i put on-insert trigger insert into table-2. so far it is good, table-2 is getting values.
on table-2 i wrote a database trigger like this
CREATE.. ON INSERT on each row..
    begin
    IF INSERTING THEN
    raise_application_error;
    END IF;
    end;
now the data not at all getting inserted into any table raising_application_error, so i could not proceed into further..
    please advise me..
    Thanks a lot
