It is not exactly a conversion but FreeHand have an autotrace
feature which will try to reproduce the imege as outlines. Poor
originals like 72 dpi jpg files used in web pages do not give good
results. Putting image to the background and drawing from scratch
over it is is usually quicker. Especially if the image has simple
shapes and straight lines. Anyway it is sometimes better to edit
the image first like removing unnecessary pixels, noise, jpg
artifacts, straightening lines, etc...
Autotrace tool has several options like outline/centerline
availble by double clicking the tool icon. Sometimes getting good
results require tracing with a few settings and combinng the best
parts. The traced paths always need cleaning up.
FreeHand is not necessarily the best tool for autotracing.
Probably as good as old Adobe Streamline but Illustrator's Live
Trace is far better.

  • Is there a way of knowing about these IMG upgrades ahead of time?

    Seriously, I did not receive any notification about this 1.9.1 upgrade in a Verizon Spotlight magazine and I have looked through each of them before throwing them out.  It could have been in the message box on my TV.  Is that how I would know about any future upgrades?
    Is there a website I can go to in the future so if I need to upgrade any of my Verizon equipment, I'll know what to do?

    That's odd but not surprising really in the scheme of other things that have been communicated poorly or not communicated at all to customers.  The main thing is the product and the deal I am getting on it.  Surprises are so often a way of life when the technology changes over the years.
    Personally, I was getting used to and enjoying the lighter blue background when the 1.9 came out this past October and now we have switched to the darker background.  Nothing stays the same.

  • An urgent issue about restore IMG setting

    Hello , experts
    I meet a trouble and hope get help from you.
    Acctually I did some change in IMG setting in a SAP system.
    The change I did hang under a transport request number. (SE09/SE10)
    Now I hope to remove all the change and restore the system to original status, can I do it by some manual on the transport request I created?
    Is it possible to restore the IMG setting in SAP system?
    If transport request way is not possible, is there other way?
    Hoping for your help, thanks a lot

    It seems that you have to restore your IMG setting by using your backup. It's the safest and easy way
    But it's all depend on your last succesful backup.

    Also, if you need a specific raster size for the preview (for
    say InDesign, Quark XPress, etc.), adjust the Raster Effects
    Settings under the File menu --> Document Settings --> Raster
    Effects Settings (near bottom of File menu).
    There you can set the dots-per-inch (D.P.I.) to whatever you
    need for printing. The Default is 72 D.P.I., so if you need to
    print at say a minimum of 200 lines-per-inch (L.P.I.) then set the
    Raster Effects Setting to 300 D.P.I.
    Any more than 300 D.P.I. and the file gets huge and may crash
    FreeHand.
    By the way, how large do you need to scale the vector image?
    And what is the final output size? Is it for the Web, a
    newspaper, a magazine, a billboard sign? That will determine your
    Raster Effects Settings...

  • Img tag in TextField : a nightmare ?

    After reading of the documentation about Flash TextField
    class (used by Label and Text), I was expected a lot of this
    component, especially about the
    img tag.
    I spent a lot of hours trying to make it working as the doc
    says. Each time I have runtime errors.
    Using link to jpeg or png files I have Error #1034 (I comment
    a "resolve" bug in the JIRA adobe bug system).
    Then I try to embed images with a link identifier to a
    movieclip symbol (seams to be the only way to use embedded images).
    After spending a long time to understand what that was meaning
    (just ONE example should have save half day of work !!! may be the
    Adobe guy should be advised that not all the Flex developpers comes
    from Flash !), I was abled to use a swf file made with fresh
    downloaded Flash CS3.
    But that time if the first assignment to htmlText property is
    ok, when I change the value I have error #2025 (DisplayObject must
    be a child of the caller - translate from french).
    So I am quite disappointed about Flex choice today...
    I was abled to add a support for the missing <table>
    tag but I don't know how to easily rewrite a complete TextField
    which can insert images (embedded in swf).
    If anybody has success with images in TextField, let me know
    Thanks.

    I've had the same problem. Using an img tag in a dynamically
    generated text field does not work the same published for AIR as it
    does published for Flash Player. If I use a relative path for the
    image or the class name of a symbol in the library in Flash it
    works perfectly, but neither work if the same code is published for
    AIR. Is there a solution to this that anyone knows of?
    Here's an example:
    var optionFont:Font = new UniversBold();
    var optionFormat = new TextFormat();
    optionFormat.color = 0x27318b;
    optionFormat.bold = true;
    optionFormat.size = 38;
    optionFormat.font = optionFont.fontName;
    var field:TextField = new TextField();
    field.embedFonts = true;
    field.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT;
    field.defaultTextFormat = optionFormat;
    field.selectable = false;
    field.htmlText = "Hi There <img src='GTE38'> Hi There";
    field.wordWrap = true;
    field.width = 200;
    addChild( field );
    UniversBold and GTE38 are classes in the library. This works
    when published for Flash, but if republished for AIR, the image
    does not show up.

  • img tag

    I have a problem about writing <img tag in the xsl file. Below are the xml and xsl file.

    The output can't interpret the <img src ....> but treat it as the text only and display it on the html page -- <img src="../images/test.gif" width="158" height="60" border="0"> So how can I make the img work? Thanks.

    Use an xsl:element block with xsl:attributes inside it to produce the img tag like this:<xsl:element name="img">

    Hi there, and welcome to the forums!
      Could you please provide a screenshot of the website when it is previewed in a browser/live view? This way I can better understand the conflicts that are occuring in your code.
      It is always a good practice when coding a website to preview it in the browser as you code, to make sure there are no conflicts. It's important to remember that in the end, your viewers will be viewing your site in a browser, not in Dreamweaver's preview. : )

  • Connection Help via VGA without apple's VGA adapter

    Hi, I just bought a brand new mini online today. I deglected to purchase a mini-dvi to vga adapter thinking i do not need it with my current setup.
    --Windows pc with a dual DVI out graphics card(1 dvi-vga adapter connected to a vga cable--->to the monitor)
    Can i simply take that DVI-VGA adapter off my pc and throw it on apple's DVI.. plug my monitor cable into that and get video? OR... do i need to run to microcenter when i get my mac just for a 30$ adapter to VGA?
    I planned on getting a TV within the next month or two using a DVI-HDMI cable anyway.. so i was trying to make due with what i already had.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Joe

    I understand that the mini comes with a mini-DVI adapter, and that would be put to use connecting it to a DVI-VGA adapter that comes with most graphics cards now-a-days. which then would essentially a VGA out port for the mac mini.... in turn being able to connect it to my monitor via VGA cable... correct?
    Here is an example of what im talking about: http://img.tomshardware.com/us/2005/11/23/pcinterfaces_101/vgadvi1.jpg
    If i connect that to the included mini-DVI to DVI adapter that comes with the mini TO that adapter in the picture TO a basic VGA cable.. technically it should work?
    A bit hillbilly rigged but its better than wasting 30$ on a brand new cable i'd never use again after like two weeks.
    I've got a day or two before the mac actually comes so I'm just trying to head off any problems ahead of time.

  • Lightbox images not showing when uploaded to my website

    Hello
    I'm creating a new website for my photography business, and have created three 'gallery' pages which are basically just a lightbox gallery on each page with 20 images in.
    I uploaded my first page, gallery1, and the associated images and went to test it and some of the thumbnail images didn't appear. I renamed the images in my 'gallery1 thumbnails' folder (which had originally been the same names as the images in gallery1) by adding 'tb' at the end of each image name and reuploaded them to my host and it resolved the problem. I uploaded gallery2 in the same way and ran into the same problem. I renamed the images again and reuploaded as I had before to fix the problem, but it didn't fix it this time. I changed the names in gallery3 thumbnails first and uploaded them and they uploaded perfectly. I went back to gallery2, and noticed that all the images I was having a problem with had a '_' character in them. I took that out, reuploaded, still not working. I've double checked everything's as it should be, reuploaded everything a couple more times for good measure, and it works on live view and when I open the file on my computer but once they're uploaded to my host it doesn't work. Can anyone shed a bit of light on this for me? Page in question in here: http://www.emmarichards.co.uk/gallery-2.html and code is here:

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the div. The elements within this div have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.

    /* Settable values for skinning a Basic menu via presets. If presets are not sufficient, most skinning should be done in
              these rules, with the exception of the images used for down or right pointing arrows, which are in the file SpryMenuBasic.css
               These assume the following widget classes for menu layout (set in a preset)
              .MenuBar - Applies to all menubars - default is horizontal bar, all submenus are vertical - 2nd level subs and beyond are pull-right.
              .MenuBarVertical - vertical main bar; all submenus are pull-right.
              You can also pass in extra classnames to set your desired top level menu bar layout. Normally, these are set by using a preset.
              They only apply to horizontal menu bars:
                        MenuBarLeftShrink - The menu bar will be horizontally 'shrinkwrapped' to be just large enough to hold its items, and left aligned
                        MenuBarRightShrink - Just like MenuBarLeftShrink, but right aligned
                        MenuBarFixedLeft - Fixed at a specified width set in the rule '.MenuBarFixedLeft', and left aligned.
                        MenuBarFixedCentered -  - Fixed at a specified width set in the rule '.MenuBarFixedCentered',
                                                                and centered in its parent container.
                        MenuBarFullwidth - Grows to fill its parent container width.
              In general, all rules specified in this file are prefixed by #MenuBar so they only apply to instances of the widget inserted along
              with the rules. This permits use of multiple MenuBarBasic widgets on the same page with different layouts. Because of IE6 limitations,
              there are a few rules where this was not possible. Those rules are so noted in comments.

    /* IE6 rules - you can delete these if you do not want to support IE6 */
    /* A note about multiple classes in IE6.
    * Some of the rules above use multiple class names on an element for selection, such as "hover" (MenuItemHover) and "has a subMenu" (MenuItemWithSubMenu),
    * giving the selector '.MenuItemWithSubMenu.MenuItemHover'.
    * Unfortunately IE6 does not support using mutiple classnames in a selector for an element. For a selector such as '.foo.bar.baz', IE6 ignores
    * all but the final classname (here, '.baz'), and sets the specificity accordingly, counting just one of those classs as significant. To get around this
    * problem, we use the plugin in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js to generate compound classnames for IE6, such as 'MenuItemWithSubMenuHover'.
    * Since there are a lot of these needed, the plugin does not generate the extra classes for modern browsers, and we use the CSS2 style mutltiple class
    * syntax for that. Since IE6 both applies rules where
    * it should not, and gets the specificity wrong too, we have to order rules carefully, so the rule misapplied in IE6 can be overridden.
    * So, we put the multiple class rule first. IE6 will mistakenly apply this rule.  We follow this with the single-class rule that it would
    * mistakenly override, making sure the  misinterpreted IE6 specificity is the same as the single-class selector, so the latter wins.
    * We then create a copy of the multiple class rule, adding a '.SpryIsIE6' class as context, and making sure the specificity for
    * the selector is high enough to beat the single-class rule in the "both classes match" case. We place the IE6 rule at the end of the
    * css style block to make it easy to delete if you want to drop IE6 support.
    * If you decide you do not need IE6 support, you can get rid of these, as well as the inclusion of the SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js script.
    * The 'SpryIsIE6' class is placed on the HTML element by  the script in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js if the browser is Internet Explorer 6. This avoids the necessity of IE conditional comments for these rules.

    If someone could help me with my issue I'd be very greatful, it's been stumping me for hours now.
    Thank you in advance for any help!!

    When I see code errors, I stop trying to trouble shoot  because code errors account for 98% of browser rendering problems.  When you clear up your orphaned tags: mismatched <p></p> and <li></li> tags, then I'll take a closer look.
    PS. Being able to work with code is essential to using DW and 3rd party plugins.  Without basic coding skills, you're going to be lost most of the time.

  • Problem with PHP not working and Extra space in form I can't get rid of

    This is my first time doing a form, much less using php. I would appreciate your help on the problems below.
    1. in the form when you go to the website there is too much vertical spacing between the form fields.
    2.the Message field has script inside that vistors can see.
    3. on hitting the submit button it redirects me to a blank page and not the thankyou.html page that I had created.
    4. the form doesn't send the email to [email protected]

    The below should work for you.
    As Jon points out the page has to be a .php page NOT a .html page.
    The idea is that the page gets sent back to itself and the form information is processed then sent to the email address if there are no errors detected.
    The unusual gaps in the form were being caused by unclosed tags amongst other things - hopefuly I put some of it right for you.
    Copy all of the below and save it as contact.php - Obviously your server needs to support php for it to work, most do. I have not specified your email address in the php as it attracts spam from the forum so re-instate it where the xxxxxxx are.
    <?php
    if (array_key_exists('submit', $_POST)) {
    // check name field
    $name = trim($_POST['name']);
    if (empty($name)) {

  • Help with lightbox gallery widget

    Hello
    I built a website for my photography business and used the lightbox gallery widget. I'm not massively HTML minded so I tend to build in design view and just tweak the HTML code.
    The gallery is here: http://www.emmarichards.co.uk/gallery.html
    When you click on one of the photos, it is not working properly, it just takes you to another webpage with just the image. It worked fine in the live view. I'm looking at it in IE, not sure which version but a fairly up to date one I think. I've also checked it using the Mozilla browser and having the same problem. How can I rectify this please? The pages code is as follows:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    Do I need to have the same path as in my root folder, so for example within my Public folder with my host, have a 'script's folder and then put the 'jquery.js' file within that or should that not matter?
    All paths (the route from the parent file to the dependent file) are crucial.
    If the path is not correct, the required file will not be found and the effect will not work.
    There's no need to upload files individually and manually place them into remote folders. DW handles all file and folder paths for you if you use the Files panel.
    For example, http://www.emmarichards.co.uk/scripts/lightbox.js = 404 error. The file still does not exist on the server in that location.
    You should be able to click on the css and scripts folders locally, click Put and all files in those folders will be uploaded correctly.

  • Creative MediaSource v3.30.21 looks/works differen

    I just installed file CMS_PCMTP_LB__00_8.exe so that I can transfer files download from napster to my zen micro. My zen micro firmware is v2.2.02, and now my MediaSource is v3.30.2. My question is that when I looked at the files on my zen micro, I could edit a group of files (or even all files) to change the genre, artist, etc. and now it seems that I cannot. Here are screenshots of what I'm talking about. [img"]http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e90/james_miller_/bc70805b.jpg?t=66035387">

    I still cannot edit the genre, artist, etc. of multiple highlighted files. The first pic is when I try to edit multiple files on the Zen Micro. The second pic is when I try to do the same on the Library, but is also the menu I always got prior to this upgrade. • IPod Touch 3rd generation will not sync music

    My 3rd generation 32GB iPod Touch won't sync music. It will not even be able to start to sync. A message "The iPod "Cindy's iPod" could not be synced because the sync session failed to start." It was given to me in August 2010 as a gift, and it was bought from Costco in America. The iPod has been updated to IOS5. I am using a Windows 7 laptop, and this is the very same laptop I have been using to sync the same iPod for the past year and a few months. The last time I was able to sync it was February 26th, 2012.
    When I drag music to onto iTunes to sync it with the iPod, it will not sync, and the song is whited out and has the syncing symbol to the left of it (but not swirling).
    Everytime I unplug and plug the iPod back in to sync it, the songs I tried to sync from before are still white out, and they are still there even after I delete them (and unplug and replug the iPod back).
    I have tried restarting the laptop, reinstalling iTunes, and turning off and on my iPod.
    When I try to restore the iPod, iTunes won't let me.
    Normally, if this happens, I am able to permanently delete the none syncing song from the iPod music library, and resync it by dragging the file from the laptop and putting it into iTunes. I have tried over 10 times, but the same problems happen each time.
    Here is a  screenshot of what I am talking about.

    Here is the URL if the above photo doesn't show:

    Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon.

    If you can see the iTunes Media folder inside your Music folder in your computer, put all your songs their and try resyncing everything in your iTunes. It should be able to work as that is what I did to this type of problem before. Hope it helps.

  • Iframe Issue with Safari

    Hello,
    I am a web designer and the website I'm working on can be viewed at www.newjerseyrates.com.
    I am using iframes and am having problems displaying the correct url in the iframe in the Safari browser only. It works fine on Chrome, IE and Firefox.
    The url appearing in the iframe on the home page should be www.guaranteedrate.com/loanoptions/vpname/leezacharczyk and the one coming up is www.guaranteedrate.com/loanoptions.
    Can you tell me how to fix this?  Thank you.

  • Can't get rid of Thin line at bottom of images

      <a href="about.html"><img src="images/HOMEPAGE/homepage_title.png" alt="Get Started" class="columns" title="Get Started"/></a><br>
      <br>
    Hi, I can't figure out why my homepage images have a thin line at the bottom of the image. The image itself is not causing this but it must have something to do with the image tag or the CSS but I can't seem to get rid of it and it's driving me crazy. If anyone knows what may be causing this I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

    Looks like ALL your links, including images, have the text-decoration underline and since 3 or the 4 images are links, they are also underlined. Add
    text-decoration: none;
    to all your achors (a.):

    Best wishes,

    Adninjastrator, thanks for the link. I looked it over and if I have an image as a link, I don't want there to be a visible link so according to the link here. http://www.quackit.com/css/css_hyperlinks.cfm
    I should need to add this code if I don't want a visible link.
    a:link { text-decoration: none }
    Can you please tell me "where" I would add the above code. The site has 11 styles. What I 've been doing is selecting the image and then looking at the style associated with it and the image seems too use the "clearfix.css" style.. Can you lease tell me if this is correct and where I would add the code to the clearfix style? Thanks.
    Here is the code for the "Clearfix" style.
    .clearfix:after {
    content: ".";
    display: block;
    clear: both;
    visibility: hidden;
    line-height: 0;
    height: 0;
    html[xmlns] .clearfix {
    display: block;
    * html .clearfix {
    height: 1%;
    Put this code at the end of your styles (remove the previous one so that it does not interfere with this one) and then post back.
    Good luck.
    img {
        display: block;
    Jtanna and Murray, thanks for the reply.
    Would I still need that code or would it be better to edit the current code than to just keep adding code? Just curious. Can I not edit the code's text decoration to fix or is your solution better. If you solution is better then would I just add your code to the bottom of the CSS style above? Thanks.
