About debugging of script

hi experts,
can u plz help me how to debugg the script in general way.and i would like toknow how to debugg the transaction F150.and tell me clearly where exactly the script will be triggered  and where exactly the driver program will trigger.
in detail

Hi Gupta,
There are 2 ways to debug a script.
1.Go to Se38 ,Enter the program name "RSTXDBUG' & then press Execute.
2.Go to se71,enter the form name .In the same page,go to Utilities -->Activate Debugger.
In both the cases,the debugger will b activated.Then u run the print program,automatically the form will b in debugging mode.....
Actually,while configuring,we will mention the print program & the form to a transaction,so both of them will b linked to the transaction,no need to link them explicitly again.
Reward points if useful.....
Pavan.

    I upgraded to latest version of mountain lion yesterday, this morning my power Mac was running extremely slowly (while typing, had to wait a second or two for words to appear), I shut down to see if problem would clear up.  When starting up, screen went black with programming jargon, something about debugging with the word panic in parentheses.  Screen then goes back to gray, says Mac encountered a problem and has to restart once I push a key.  Apple logo comes on gray screen, icon keeps circling and nothing happens.  This has happened three times in a row after shutting down and trying to restart.  Any thoughts?

  • Debugging a script

    hi,
    please can any onne tel me all the possible ways to debugg a script
    thanks,
    shilpa

    Hi,
    You could not debug your script alone like reports. First goto SE71 and input the script name which need to be debugged. Then navigate through menu 'Utilities' --> Activate Debugger. On status bar, you could find message "SAPScript form debugger was activated".
    Next step is execute the print form / corresponding application which can trigger the form and you can find start of debugger which control comes to script.

  • Debugging a script and smart form

    Hi   Can u explain me How to Debug a Script and Smart from in Real time

    hi,
    for smartforms
    1. use transaction SMARTFORM_TRACE
    2. in the SMARTFORMS, use utilities to show the function name. You can analyze this function in SE37 and set dynamic breakpoints as required. Lok at the SMARTFORM_TRACE to decide where to set break points.
    3. BREAK-POINT can be used only in own program lines in smartform - not very helpful because it always stops until removed and generated again.
    for scripts
    from SE71 enter form name
    from Menu Utilities->ACTIVATE DEBUGGER
    then execute the script from the Application Transaction
    it will stop in the script and check for the Values you need
    or
    Execute RSTXDBUG.

  • Debugging SAP Scripts MR_PRINT and MR_REKL

    Hi All,
    Can anybody tell me if there is an easy way to debug the SAP Script Layoutsets MR_PRINT and MR_REKL, which are triggered through MRKO and MIRO transactions. Also I need to know how to repeat the print out of the above layouts, which are outputs of Invoice reductions and Invoice corrections.
    I already tried SE71 -> Utilities -> Activate Debugger and also placing a break-point in one of the performs, I call, but I think the print program is a dynamic call and it is not stopping at the break-points.
    Let me know what I am missing.
    Thank you for your time,
    yrkanth

    Sorry, if it sounds dumb. But how will you put a hard breakpoint in a SAP Script? I don't hink there is a BREAK-POINT command which can be used in SAP Script? I activated the sap script debugger and am running the MRKO transaction which triggers the layoutset, but it is not stopping as it does stop for any other layouset.
    The other way I tried was, to put in BREAK-POINT command in one of the performs the SAP script calls and I was able to stop at that only when I debug in Update debugging mode. This only allows me to debug the perform code but it still does not allow me to debug the script as we debug the script for PO (Purchase Order) by activating the SAP Script debugger and print previewing the PO.
    Hope this helps?
    I really appreciate your time.
    Thank you,
    yrkanth

    Hai Rajiv
    For Debugging SAP Scripts & Smartforms as follows
    SAP Script:
    YOu Can debug a SAP Script by activating debugger in two ways 1.In SE71->Menu->Utilities->Activate Debugger, then debugger will be get activated and when your print program is executing Script Debugger will be in active and you can proceed with your debugging.
    2. Goto se38-> RSTXDBUG ->Execute this same as going thru in se71-> Menu, now debugger will be activated.
    Smartform:I am afraid , we dont have any direct commands or direct procedure to debug a script. But in indirect ways we can do it.
    1.Put a command line before where you want check the value of smartform and write the code "BREAK-POINT"->hardcoded debugging.
    2.You can debug the function module which generates the smartform.

  • A few questions about indesign CS3 scripting

    1.     I often do one thing that pressing a Ctrl + ~, followed by a Ctrl + Shift + E. So I have spent one day trying to write a script today but failed to. I am going to be insane sooner or later.
    I have tried this line "app.menus[0].menuElements[10].menuElements[1].shortcutKey" for "Ctrl + Shift + E". This line is the farthest point I can get. It doesn't work.
    2.     if (app.menuActions.item (5262).name == "Stop BlackLining" || app.menuActions.item (5262).name ==  "Start BlackLining")
    is not equal to
    if (app.menuActions.item (5262).name == ("Stop BlackLining" || "Start BlackLining"))
    why?
    3.     I try this line "app.menuActions.item (5262).name" in ESTK. JavaScript Console reads "Start BlackLining".
    When I select and click the menu "Start BlackLining", the menu's contents changes to "Stop BlackLining". See below.
    Then I try the line refered above. JavaScript Console reads "Start BlackLining" again. As you can see, I consider that it should be "Stop BlackLining". The two different menus use the same index in Indesign.
    But when I only click their parent menu "BlackLining" once and then try the line, JavaScript Console reads "Stop BlackLining". That's normal. But how come? Do I click their parent menu to refresh all the menus to make it normal?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the tips. When I write a script, I will open all the Help Document, Object Model Viewer, Core JavaScript Classes and ScriptUI Classes.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}There are some reasons to avoid dealing with selections in scripts, but perhaps in this case it is correct to do so. Then you would use app.selection[0].fit(FitOptions.CENTER_CONTENT);
    After reading instruction in OMV, I can't figure it out what exactly "app.selection[0].fit(FitOptions.CENTER_CONTENT);" does.
    As the "Ctrl+Shift+E" is a shortcut customized for starting or stopping the function of the Plug-In "BlackLining" (The  Plug-In's name is BlackLining).
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}In JavaScript you should use === and !== instead of == and !=, unless you want to be tripped up by weird type coercion problems.
    But anyhow, hwy would you think these would be equivalent?
    First, let's write out your first case parenthesized according to the JS precedence rules, so there is no ambiguity:
    ((app.menuActions.item(5262).name=="Stop BlackLining") || (app.menuActions.item(5262.name == "Start BlackLining"))
    Hopefully that's what you expect. Let's suppose it is the start case. Then that will evaluate to:
    ((false) || (true))
    which evaluates to true.
    But your second case is nothing like that.:
    (app.menuActions.item (5262).name == ("Stop BlackLining" || "Start BlackLining"))
    So first the interpreter evaluates ("Stop BlackLining" || "Start Blacklining"), that is, it takes the logical OR of two strings. This is not a very useful thing to do. It will always return the first one. That is ("a" || "b") always evalutes to "a". So then you have:
    (app.menuActions.item (5262).name == "Stop BlackLining")
    and if we're in the start case, then it is: false.
    I think there is no way to make it short, right?
    In fact, it's hard for me to find material of learning script t just execpt serveral PDFs (about basic of script) was added when the software was installed. I learned the C Language before. I try to remember the similar usage in C Language. Maybe I am wrong.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}As for your third question, well, the language is a bit confused, but menus can change their appearance when they are clicked on. That's a good reason not to use menu names or positions in scripts. Doesn't this blacklining extension (whatever it is) define a stopBlackLining() function somewhere in the DOM? Or someting like that?
    BTW, "BlackLining" is a Plug-In. Is Plug-In equal to extension in English? And DOM is short for document object model? It seems there are a lot more for me to learn.
    I want to tell you what kind of script I want to write. Make it simple. Forgiving my poor English.
    Let's get it started.
    I have to open many documents at the same time and then shut down the plug-in "BlackLining". So I have to press the shortcut "Ctrl+~", which means selecting the next document, and then press the shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+E", which is set by me and means starting or stopping the plug-in.
    When I finished some operions, which can't be proceeding while the plug-in "BlackLining" is on, I have to press the shortcut "Ctrl+~", and then press shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+E" to start "BlackLining".
    I have to do it over and over again day after day. I am almost insane. (Problem one)
    So, I want to write a script, let the computer do it for me. Further more, the shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+E" is used for both starting and stoping "BlackLining". Can't be set separately.
    At the same time, I don't know whether the "BlackLining" is on or not. What if it's off? Maybe old documents are on, some subsequent are off. See below:
    So I have to check the state before I press "Ctrl+Shift+E". (Problem two and three)
    Can you help me out? Thanks.
    If you need "BlackLining", you can download demo at http://www.blacklining.com/.

  • About foolish action script

    it's very simple.
    Let's see bellow:
    result_lv = new LoadVars();
    result_lv.onLoad = function (success)
         if (success)
              total_txt.text = unescape(this.result1);
         else
              total_txt.text = "ERROR";
    //here is end of Flash action script 2.0
    bellow is PHP code
    <?php
          $chan = 'title';
          $num = 80;
         echo("result1=$chan&received1=$num");
    ?>
    Can you guess what flash presented?
    $chan was printed in "total_txt"
    Can't flash bring the value of $chan in php?
    I expected "title" would be printed in "total_txt".
    but how could it be so foolish?
    flash just brings text following "=" until it meets another "&";
    I got so surprised. it can't be told communication with php.  it is just "File IO" function.
    if you know a way to communicate with php, bringing a value of peculiar variable, please let me know it.

    In the form Utilities->debugger / RSTXDBUG FM for debugging script
    The Procedure for debugging SAP script is:
    Generally SAP script contains the Layout and corresponding print program.
    First go to SE71 and enter ur script name. In the same screen go to Utilities->click on activate debugger option.
    Now go to SE 38 and enter ur Print Program name and execute the program.
    Now you can debug the script Page wise and window wise.

  • Debugging the script.

    Hi All,
    I need to debug a script and i am facing a challenge like when i checked the nace transaction for a particular Tcode i am able to c two processing routines.
    When i c the output i am able to see a form which has got attached to the first routine and when i press the back button from the form output i am able to c the form which is attached to the processing routine2.( this is what i need to debugg)
    Now my problem is when i make activate debugger in the second script the debugger is calling only the first form not the second one..
    Can any one suggest me how to debugg it.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Joe

    Hi meetjoe,
    Basically u want to debug the 2nd form attached to the 2nd routine right?
    But always when u activate debugger and start debugging u can see the 1st form.
    See as per what u have said i feel the flow of your program is as follows...
    your routine1 calls the form1...it displays it and then returns to your routine2 which then calls the
    form2...thats why when u go back from output of form1...u directly reach the form2.
    I feel your form2 is taking some values / data from form1...so always before displaying form2, it is going in sequence  and showing form1 1st and then form2.
    do one thing...activate debugger for form2...start debugging..if it starts debugging form1...continue doing it, come to form output.....then click on BACK button as u said...then when u come to the form2, which u wanted to debug....then just put a breakpoint there in the script of form2 in the debugger and simply save it...
    so the breakpoint will be saved at a position in form2...and next time when u start debugging the control will directly come to the breakpoint in ur form2, or even if it goes to form1 first, then definitely next it'll move to breakpoint in form2....and i guess thats wat u wanted to do
    Hope this helps u...All The Best

  • Troubleshooting/debugging startup script

    Hello
    We have a startup script applying to approximately 150 machines.  All machines are in the same AD container, which is how the script is applied.  In an attempt to understand better why certain aspects of the script don't run I added this to the
    'Script Parameters' field in the window where the startup script is specified:
    >C:\Apps\results.log
    I know the script is running, as I have it creating a txt file in the root of the C drive and appending the date and time of each boot.  However, on very few machines does the above log file actually get created.  Can anyone suggest why this would
    work on some PCs and not others, when the GPO and therefore the startup script is definitely being applied?
    Many thanks
    Paul

    Hi Paul Tulloch,
    According to your description, you would like to deploy a startup script, however, it only applied to some clients. Right?
    Firstly please check if the script could run successfully manually on the problematic clients.
    What's more, please enable GPSVC debug logging on the problematic client. This log records the detailed information about the group policy applying process which is very useful for troubleshooting the group policy related issues. To do so, add the following
    registry entry:
    Sub-key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Diagnostics
    Entry:       GPSvcDebugLevel
    Type:       REG_DWORD
    Value:      30002 (HEX)
    After you make this change, restart the computer and log on again to reproduce the issue. After that, compress the %SystemRoot%\Debug\UserMode\ folder and check if there is any error message about this issue.
    In addition, you could provide more detailed information about the script and the configuration of the GPO to help us futher troubleshooting.

    Hi Rhondavas77,
    To enable/disable Just-In-Time debugging
    On the Tools menu, click Options.
    In the Options dialog box, select the Debugging folder.
    In the Debugging folder, select the Just-In-Time page.
    In the Enable Just-In-Time debugging of these types of code box, select or clear the relevant program types:
    Managed, Native, or Script.
    To disable Just-In-Time debugging, once it has been enabled, you must be running with Administrator privileges. Enabling Just-In-Time debugging sets a registry key, and Administrator privileges are required to change that key.
