About existence of added column in the database apex application.
Hi,
I have created an report apex application based on the table. Consider the table as Employee_details
The columns in the Employee_details tables are
*) Employee_id
*) name
*) ip_address
*) host_name
*) port_no
*) sys_type
*) email_id
*) login_id
*) sys_config
*) sys_serial_no
*) place_allotted
*) internet_status
and also i have created an application using this column......Now i need to add an extra column "contact_no" with this table.....
That only also i added in the table by giving "Add column" the column is added in the table.....
But i need to add that extra column "contact_no" in my current application along with the existed columns.
I went to "Actions" in the application that i have created, and i shifted that "contact_no" column from "do not display side to the display side". Now it is displaying.
But the problem where i getting here is, when i logged out of the application and when i again login into the application the "contact_ no" column that i added to show it in display field is not displaying...Why?.........

Hi,
If its a table column then its better to add it to the IR by modifying the Report Query of the IR.
If you add it through the Action button then you need to save the report as Default Setting for it to keep appearing the next time you visit the page.

Adding Columns to the matrix in SAP B1 user form using Visual studio 2010
Hi,
Using Visual studio 2010, I have created a SAP B1 user form( b1f ) with one matrix.Matrix is having 5 columns. Its working properly. Later, I want to add few more columns. Then I added columns to the matrix as I have created columns initially. But, it does not saves.
i.e, Whenever I run, In B1 I could see only old columns. Newly created columns are not showing.So, I closed the .net project and opened again. Created columns are not showing in visual studio b1f itself. So, I created again and saved. But, its not saving.I tried it many times.
What I am missing?

Are you using B1 Studio? Anyway try to clean the solution first then rebuild it. This would re-copy files to the output directory, that contain your changes.

Updating a column in the database
Hi,
My requirement is to update a column in the database just before calling
OAException.raiseBundledOAException(getExceptionList());
I am calling the above in a method in the AM
Just before calling this I am Getting the handle of the VO (which is based on an EO, which in turn is based on the table which I want to update) and setting the value of that column as null. But the value is not getting updated at the database level.
When I query the database I can still see the earlier value and not the updated value.
In some cases I can see the value on the screen is updated but the value in the database remains same.
Please let me know how do I update a column in the database and

I guess, since an excpetion is raised the transaction is not commited automatically by the framework.
Try commiting the transaction explicity after the update and before the exception. But i dont think, its a good design... anybody any idea ?! -

I'm actually trying to find the date i visited a site. adding columns allow the order to be sorted but not show a date. Please tell me it there's a way to see the date. the sidebar no longer has the option for date. the most recent only shows the time.
If you only see the time then that would mean that you see an entry of the current day (today).
History items from past days should have the date as well in the Most Recent Visit column.
You should be able to see this changing if you open the last 7 days folder and scroll down. -
Differences in the characterset used by the database & Oracle Applications
Hi All,
I have encrypted one column in the database using Oracle DBMS_OBFUSCATION tool package.When the same field is viewed from the application the characters appear different from those that are there in the database and also sometimes the value is truncated from the applications.
Could anyone please help me understand why it is happening.
Is there any difference in the characterset used by the database & Oracle Applications ??

AushWhat I mean by the characters displayed on the form in the Oracle Applications is different from the database value is that suppose the value in the database is 8¿x¿"h the characters(part of the string) displayed in the form are different from what is present in the database.

Multiple instances of the same APEX application under SSO
Currently we have several applications that are authenticated through Oracle SSO. The apps are authenticating correctly, but I can't be in multiple instances of the same application without having to re-validate through SSO when I move between instances.
Scenario: I'm successfully signed into my "parent" application, app_id 1 through SSO. I click a custom link that opens the "child" application (app_id 2) to view widget "A". When the page is launched I see the usual "Redirecting to the Login Server for authentication" message (verifying that I'm signed in through SSO) and then it succeeds and takes me into app 2, displaying widget A. I click the next link to launch another instance of app 2 with a different APEX session id for viewing widget "B". This also passes through SSO and redirects me into app 2, displaying widget B as expected. But now if I go back to navigate anywhere on widget A in my first instance, it has to go back through the "Redirecting to Login Server." This now means the widget A window is valid, but the widget B window will have to redirect next time I use it (back & forth & so on...)
So my question I suppose is: Is it possible/good practice to allow a single user to open multiple separate instances of the same APEX application using different APEX session_ids viewing different data under Oracle Enterprise SSO?
Guesstimation: It seems like there must be a switch somewhere in SSO that says "allow multiple application instances yes/no"...but my problem may be APEX itself, or how SSO is tied into APEX... Sorry for the super-generic example, I'm not exactly sure where I should be looking to resolve this, and the closest similar problem I found on the forums was here: login to application twice in two seperate IE windows clears other loginreset your dock preferences. delete the file homedirectory/library/preferences/com.apple.dock.plist and log out/in. your dock, spaces and exposé will be reset to the defaults. see if the problem goes away.

Adding Data to the database for SAP Transactions
Hi
I'm new to the whole ABAP. I would like to enquire about adding transaction data in SAP through ABAP but it must be immediate.
I know that one can use a BAPI to add data and can rollback if any problems occur.
But if no BAPI exists how does one write code to add a document to the SAP database but with everything SAP transaction requires like the BAPI. What is the process and how???
So let say I wanted to do FB01 which is SAP FI document and must be immediate. There is a BAPI that exists for it but if there was not one how would I do this???
I know one can also use BDC but that creates a batch and then needs to be executed in SM35, I want a way to add data for two or three SAP transactions, if any problems occur with any of the steps rollback everything else commit everything to the database.
Any simple detail examples (code) that satisfy the above will be greatly appreciated and REWARDED.

How to get added columns in the after DDL trigger?
As title, I want to get information, like name/type/.., about the added columns by sql statement "alter table *** add (***)" in the after ddl trigger. But looks like dba_tab_columns view doesn't include the added columns.

I have changed the XML coding accordingly .and uploaded the file .but the added columns are not appearing in the UWL.
I have added the view in the XML file corresponding to the backend related.
do i need add the view and atributes in teh standard XML file as well?

I can able to add but how to give the header text for the columns added?
I tried with the following code,

but it gives the error as,
"property or indexer 'SAPbouiCOM.IColumn.Title' cannot be assigned to -- it is read only"
and also i want the added column to be displayed in the first position.

Then i recommend u to create a UDF in the marketing document section. So that in the PO matrix u can get a new col. And for creating the UDF u can do it in SAP UI using.. Tools->Customization Tools->User defined Fields management or u can also do it in code C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One SDK\Samples\COM DI\VB.NET\02.MetaDataOperations Check that sample for code.

OmniPortlet Tip: Adding columns to the tabular layout

I had some questions about the limitation to 5 columns of the OmniPortlet tabular layout. Here is a tip to add more columns to this layout:
1. backup the current OmniPortlet provider.xml
/OC4J_HOME/applications/portalTools/omniPortlet/WEB-INF/providers/omniPortlet
2. You can not open the file:
and look for the tag <dataField
3. You can add new fields, by copying the existing <dataField> tag and change the value of the <name> and <displayName>

Update Column on The Database After Printing a Report Using BI Publisher
I need to update a flag on the database to say that a report has been printed. As the report is generated from the branch, I can't work out when and where to run my update process.
