In lot of workflow item exemple with business event activity we see a new function name : FAN IN and FAN OUT.
Have you some technical informations about this functions.

Question about function with in parameters

Hello,
I have a question about functions with in-parameters. In the HR schema, I need to get the minimum salary of the job_id that is mentioned as an in-parameter.
this is what I am thinking but I dont know if it's correct or not or what should I do next!

Is it possible to add that if the i_job_id which is the in type parameter does not have a minimum salary then use the following function to register an error:
create or replace procedure insert_error (i_error_code in number,
i_error_message in varchar2)

insert into error_table (error_user, error_date, error_code, error_message)
values (user,sysdate,i_error_code,i_error_message);
end insert_error;
This function is basically to say that an error has occured and to register that error, at the same time I need to print out the error using the dbms_out.put_line.
Any ideas of how to do that?

Menu Insert Function is often Greyed out

Hi
New user of numbers and Forum. Have searched this to no avail sorry if inappropriate post.
Insert>Function submenu is greyed out under all circumstances other than when a blank cell is selected (not even an "=" allowed). This makes it very tedious to construct longer formulars with >1 function in them (ie. most formulars!). Is there something I am missing? This is User friendly software gone too far, not friendly.
In particular I want to use Insert>Functions>More Functions... inside a formular as I am still migrating from Excel and iWorks memories.

With iWork you got three PDF Users Guides which are also for you.
On page 26 of the English one dedicated to Numbers you would find useful explanations.
You are right, the Insert functions menu item is often greyed but the efficient way to insert a function is not this one.
It's a button in the toolbar:

Sorry you have failed your interview question. Good thing you remembered it, thought about it, and ask a question about it. The solution is actually very straightforward.
Create a table to store the state of your progress. Before each step read the table to find out where left off, then skip each completed step. After each step write to the table which step you have completed. A step can be anything, a task, a component,
a row, an import file, an export file. You don't have to use a table, it could also be a file, just something you can read and write, and does not disappear when your package stops.
If you find this difficult to comprehend, think of a checklist of things you do everyday and work from there.

Should the removeable fan assembly fans be spinning?

10 Days ago my 2.5 GHz Quad Power Mac G5 froze and I had to cut the power. Upon trying to turn it back on, it wouldn't power up so I brough it to Apple for repair.
A few days ago I was told the logic board had been replaced but the problem wasn't totally fixed and they were awaiting another part as the problem was not totally solved. I picked it up today to find only the power supply had been replaced. Got it home, plugged it in, and there wasn't any video and after a little while some (all?) fans switched to running at full speed. It was very loud.
Brought it back and it was immediately looked at. Initially everything was fine but thankfully after a while the video got flakey. They replaced the video card and I brought it back home.
The good news is that at the moment it's working however I happened to notice that the fan assembly fans aren't spinning. Hardware Monitor reports activity for all the fans it's monitoring so this must be two it can't. I am speaking of the assembly that one would pull out to replace RAM and/or reset the PMU. I called the Apple store and spoke with the tech who said sometimes they don't spin at all and not to worry.
Well, I'm a little worried. If anyone has a current model G5 I'd appreciate if you could check your fans and tell me what you see. You can shine a flashlight through the front grill or pop open the side panel. I don't know if they used to spin and I don't know if they are intake or exhaust fans. The two exhaust fans at the back of the case seem to be working as does the video card fan.

By "DP2" I guess I was really saying, "I don't have a quad, which is liquid-cooled, and therefore may have different parameters for the fan behaviour than this Rev.A Dual-Processor 2GHz, (as opposed to Dual-Core 2GHz) and that said, this is the best answer I can come up with". We try to help.
Anyway... the fans in this G5 "DP2"(but maybe not the quad) are:
2 PSU fans - at the front, behind the silver grille, below the lower internal metal plate, inaccessible, not reported on by HM, presumably running at a constant speed
Next up, at the front, beside the puny internal speaker, is what HM calls the "PCI Slot Fan"(expansion slots), (currently, usually, running at 35%)
Moving to the back of the G5, at the top, with a silver wire guard, in front of the hard drives, is what HM calls the "Drive Bay" fan (currently, usually, running at 1000RPM)
Beside this Drive Bay fan, in a grey plastic housing, at 90deg, is what HM calls the "Main Logic Board Backside" (currently, usually, running at 20%) [this pulls air over the back of the main logic board, through the Memory Controller Heatsink]
Then, behind the CPU heat-sinks, at the very back, are the two fans that HM calls "CPU A (&B) Exhaust Fan" (speed very variable - "Specified Upper Limit - 3200 RPM", "Specified Lower Limit - 300 RPM")
In front of the CPU heat-sinks, the two fans that you are interested in, in a removable sliding plastic housing, which HM calls ""CPU A (&B) Intake Fan" (speed very variable - Limits as for Exhaust)
Just discovered, somewhat late in the day perhaps, that while HM (hopefully) reports actual temperatures from the various sensors around the G5, the fan speeds reported are not the actual speed of the fans, but the speed at which they are being instructed to spin by OS X. This could be verified by tilting the clear plastic deflector panel outwards, but keeping the locator pegs in place, and withdrawing the sliding "CPU Intake Fan" housing from the connector; the fans will stop - but HM will continue to report the OS X-instructed fan speeds.
From your description it sounds as though the sensor identifiers that HM is picking up from the quad are different(to the "DP2") and also it's just possible that HM is not fully optimised for either the hardware and/or OS X 10.4.6. (HM is at v.3.4 (March 2, 2006) and so should be quad-aware)
Anyway... "bottom line" - judging by this "DP2" and a quad sample of one(thanks KentZ!), your "CPU Intake Fans" probably should be turning all the time. As yours don't - it's possible your quad may have a different, but appropriate, Thermal Calibration.
If you load up the processors and observe the fans through the clear plastic deflector panel and they still never spin, (and also HM reports they should be) you must surely have either a bad connection to the fans or faulty fans. If they both never move, it would seem likely it's a bad connection.
Hope some of this helps. Post again if it doesn't.
Of course, a few more quad users' experiences (with 10.4.6)would be even better...

Function Module to find out the release value in contract

Dear All,
I have to upload the contract with new accoutn assignment without changing the existing contract. For that i have to download all the existing contract data with value.
In that case i have some issues regarding the value.
For example : In the system old contract is created with value 1000 and the released value as 500.
In that case i have to uload the new contract with all the details of existing contract with value of 500 (1000-500=500).
How can i get the value (500) and from which table.Is there any functional module to find out the release value in contract.

You need to link the table VBFA and VBAK.
For a contract you can check all the subsequent document (which you can filter whether you want to see Order / delivery / Billing) in VBFA and then from there pick the subsequent document no. and then from VBAK you can pick the Net value of these subsequent documents, and so you will have both the values (value of Contract and value in subsequent document) and you can determine the balance value.

"Place in" function in Bridge greyed out, after uninstalling previous version of CC.

I recently updated to the CC 2014 version of the apps. After that I removed the previous versions of Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.
Now the 'Place In" function in Bridge is greyed out. I tried restoring File associations, re-installing Bridge etc... but nothing worked. It's still unavailable.
Is there any way I can link Bridge with the 2014 apps again so I can use the 'place in' function again?

There are 2 startup scripts in Bridge: "Adobe Bridge CC" script & "Auto Collection Scripts CC 2014". When I click 'reveal all my startup scripts' I get an empty folder.
I also tried resetting my preferences but that didn't help. The 'Place in...' function is still greyed out.
I also had to manually set all the file associations with my apps because bridge always tried to open the previous versions from Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC etc...
(in fact...If I reset the file associations, bridge defaults back to the previous versions for all apps... and then I have to change it again to the CC 2014 version)
It's as if Bridge doesn't know I have the CC 2014 version and can't communicate with it.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter the Wi-Fi password.
Then tap Settings > General > Software Update

Did you meet any other call delay when you using Lync?
As the issue happen for Lync desktop client, it can be performance issue. Please check if there is any error message from FE Server when the issue happen.
Also please check if you have updated Lync Server to the latest version, if not, update it and then test again.

Does anyone have an idea on how to achieve executing the function only once? My original called function is quite heavy and returning a user defined type. Adding predicates, the function is executed 3 or 4 times!
