About hiding url in webdynpro applications

hi guys,
          i have done an application in which data is tranferred from one applicaiton to the another by using a URL. (we could say this application as interapplication navigation).
        Here the datas are stored in the url..and i could succesfully move the datas from one application to another..........
        But i want to hide the URL which carries the value...
pls suggest me how to do this or send me some sample codes for solving this issue.

Hi Sri,
If you use 'getmethod' in first application to pass data to another application then the URL will always show the transfer data. If you use the 'postmethod' to transfer data then it will not show the transfer data in the URL. So use Post method to hide data.

First of all thanks for ur reply....
I found out how to reduce the size of URL with the very informative help from THOMAS JUNG.
Step 1->We need to go to T-code-> SICF .
Step 2->Click on External Aliases button.
Step 3->It will navigate to Maintain external aliases page, over there we will right click on Virtual Host-> Create External Aliases
Step 4-> Enter node name for External Alias and give some description.
Step 5-> Go to Logon Data tab, fill the required information for (Client,User, Password,Language).
Step 6-> Next go to Trg Element tab, drill down for ur created Program i.e (host->sap->bc->webdynpro->ur program)
double click on ur program, save it and click on back menu button.
Step 7->Select ur created external alias name right click and go for Test Ext. Alias.
It will show u the final result , u can check ur final URL with any browser it will work..

To run an ABAP webdynpro application, do the users need sepearate login for R/3 and SAP WAS, for which SSO can be configured. or is it just one login required?

1. Enter URL of webdynpro application
2. Enter User Name and Password
3. SAPlogon.exe and SAPLOGON.INI provides user Data and server information to Work Processor in WAS
4. Check User Name and Password information agains SAP User Directory
5. Give Authentication if successful.

Capturing the LOG OFF url click action in a Webdynpro application

Hi,
I have this requirement where I need to know when the User logs off in a webdynpro application.
I have several webdynpro applications, each independent, and each need to do some clean up tasks when the user clicks on the LOG OFF url in the portal login.
Is there some standard event attached with the LOG OFF Url of the portal login?
And could anybody please specify when exactly would the <i>wdDoExit()</i> method of the application view(s) or the application component controller get's trigerred when the application is run from the portal login?

Hi Luciano,
I was successfully able to call the RFC from wdDoExit() method of the component controller.
Also I could successfully place a custom alert call when the user clicks on the LOGOFFurl in the portal browser.
Now I have one more pending requirement for me to completely use this cycle of events.....The Portal Browser close action i.e., 'X' action.
I did find a forum link with some code for the same but i did not understand where to place that code and have already raised a reply for hte same.

I had installed SAP in my system.But when I am testing webdynpro application I am getting the belwo error. Please let me knwo what setting I need to do to avoid this error.

In Web Dynpro ABAP it is imperative that a client browser with a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) has access to the AS-ABAP. For this reason the full URL must be assigned to a Web Dynpro ABAP application when it is called. The URL must not be shortened (for instance, no domain specification).

Call URL in the same screen of Webdynpro Application

Hi all,
My requirement is to call a URL when the user clicks on the order description. The URL screen should not replace the origin webdynpro screen i.e in the same screen there will be 2 parts, one with Webdynpro Application Screen and another with URL screen.
Is the Iframe functionality of webdynpro is useful here or please suggest any other options to acheive the same.

You can use the following code to get parameters from an URL

Adding and reading the parameters from the WebDynpro Application URL

Hi,
I have a WebDynpro Application with two views. Based on the values populated by the user in the first view, I am pulling the data from database and populating the data in the second view. I do have a scenario where I have to skip the first screen and show the second screen directly. But, for the values that has to be populated in first screen, I am planning to append the parameters in the url and provide the link to the users via email.
Is it possible to add parameters to URL and read those Parameter values when user clicks on the URL.

Hi Vijay,
You cannot modify Web Dynpro application from backend. You need to setup NWDI for modifying Web dynpro applciation for ESS/MSS. Please refer to this NWDI Cookbook for XSS.pdf in SAP Notes 872892.

          1.Create binding to view to Controller.
          2.Create table->Add column->Add table cell Editor(select LinkToAction UI Element in options).
          3. Bind the property <i>text ->sales order number</i> (Output/<model node>)
          4. Create an Event <salesOrder>
                                   // do null check
                                   // set your input parameters
                                   // input sales order number = current output sales order number
                                   // enjoy="x"
                                   // call controller's method() that executes RFC
          5. Bind this event    LinkToAction property action-> <salesOrder>
To execute RFC, the code is available in sample tutorials.

ABAP WEBDYNPRO Application Administrative DATA URL HOST & PORT empty/blank

My ABAP Webdynpro applications do not display the preview layout in SE80 just white page - no errors ANYWHERE.
Also in SE80 the properties on the application look like: https://:/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/z_rep_text. Don't know why https, but I think if I could figure that out I may resolve the issue. Can't see why trying to run HTTPS, then the host & port are empty.
I have been reading SDN posts & notes for days on this. I HAVE ACTIVATED ALL SERVICES that is not the issue. This works fine in our QA system so I know it is some sort of configuration in the development system that is causing this issue.
We just applied support packs to 23 on SAP ECC 6.0. SAP_ABAP, SAP_BASIS 7.0 level 23. This was working before patches. There had to be some note that changed what WEBdynpro's look at so now development is no longer working.
Any suggestions would be appretiated.

We found that the profile parameter login/ticket_only_by_https was set to 1. Once we changed to 0 everything worked fine.

Want to load dynamic URL from the WebDynpro application

My problem is I developed a WebDynpro application to show the vendor details in the table.
I created a iview in the portal and integrated the webdynpro application. Taken 2 columnwidth page.
In 1 column to showing the vendor details and in another column i want to show the site of the vendor.
Now, In row selection I want to show the homepage of the vendor site in another ivew(2nd column) of the page.

Please follow the below process for passing data between two webdynpro applications using portal eventing.
Step1:-
Webdynpro Application 1 (Iview1)
Create an input field bind a context variable and have a button and write the following code in the button onaction.

Here Hi-->is the context variable binded to the input field.
Step2:-
WDDOINIT write the following code:-

While creating the action it should have the following 3 parameters.
1.dataObject-->Type String
2.namespace-->Type String
3.name-->Type String
Your action code should look like something below.
public void onActionRaiseFire(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent, java.lang.String dataObject, java.lang.String namespace, java.lang.String name )

Note:-
1.Make sure your using portal along with domain
Eg:-http://portal:50000/irj/portal--->wrong
      http://portal.domain.com:50000/irj/portal--->right
2.EPCF level should be 1.
3.Check whether both applications run on the same domain.Sometimes portal eventing does not work between cross domain applications.We should do domian relaxing in order to achieve this.

WebDynpro Application for WinMobile 6.5

Hi Experts,
Can anybody tell if there is an official SAP statement that WebDynpro supports or not Windows Mobile 6.5 devices? I can not find anything about that in the PAM.
WebDynpro supports the URL Parameter sap-wd-client=PieClient to render WebDynpro applications on mobile Devices (Pocket Internet Explorer in our case). Our application works fine on a 5.5/6.0/6.1 device but with view bugs on a 6.5 device (seems that using ParameterMapping on IWDButton and IWDLinkToAction is ignored).

Windows Mobile 6.5 device has to be certified and for this the customer vendors should contact SAP to get it certified.
So, new devices that come out with 6.1 and later versions shall be supported by SAP, provided the devices are certified. Certification will be on a "device-level".
So, all you have to do is to ask your device vendor to get the devices certified with SAP.
So, if a device vendor wants to get a device certified - then they can approach SAP. We shall do the testing and then certify that the device can run SAP NetWeaver Mobile client. So, it does not matter if the device OS is 6.0 or 6.1 or later. We shall certify the device, and then customers can run the application on the certified mobile device.

WebDynpro Application issue consuming asynchronous webservice from SAP PI

Hello experts i ask you for help thie following issue:
i am developing a webdynpro application which is supposed to
send some data from inputfields, and a file, in order to achieve it, that dynpro application is consuming an asyncrhronous webservice , this service is running in SAP Process integration .it uses only a component.
Iam having serious problems at mapping the asynchronous PI web service model -->to -->controller >and then to->view
since when i deploy the application into the SAP portal´s application server, it runs , but inputfields cannot be written.i dont mean unabled, what i mean, is. cannot write anything on them.ECXEPT the file upload UI element.
I have reviewed sap help page, 3 sappress books, about dynpro, and the procedure i am performind is agree with them.

1.- import webservice model,and add it to component
2.-map web service model to controller context
3.-map controller´s context to view context
4.-create actions and methods
5.-binding context controller to ui elements

What am i doing wrong?
should i permorm another steps because the web service is in another application server (SAP PI)?
Should i create a stand alone proxy and then access it from webdynpro?
when i call the web service model excution it seems does not run, neverthless the invocation does not have any syntax error , what coul it be?

Issue in webdynpro application while calling from UWL

I am working on APPRAISAL workflow in HCM module.
In new version of SAP has provided ABAP web dynpro application HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT (component HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT)
but it is not integrated with workflow. Earlier insted of this application there was a BSP application and this was integrated with workflow.
Now to integrate ABAP webdynpro application with workflow I have created new web dynpro application and calling HAP_MAIN DOCUMENT application and when I test through SE80 transaction then I am just passing Work Item ID and it is opening HAP_MAIN DOCUMENT application. I have done it as follows.
In swfvisu I am passing Work Item ID and In application I am getting business object details using this I am createing a URL and then using exit plug I am calling HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT application

In SE80 it is opening application perfectly in same session of new Z webdynpro application.
But when I click on UWL workitem it is not opening.
In dubugging I checked that workitem ID is passed correctly also URL is created correctly for HAP_MAINDOCUMENT but it is not opening.
Please let me know is there any setting in UWL config.
