About log-in items

Using either AppleScript or Terminal, I know how to get a list of the log-in items on the boot drive.
Is there a way to get the corresponding lists for other drives on the same computer (without booting up on them)?

Use a command such as:
defaults read /Volumes/Macintosh HD/Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginitems

  • Information about DSO: Order Items (0SD_O01)

    Hello Experts!
I have a little question about DSO Order Items (0SD_O01)
and Info cube  Service Level: Order Items (0SD_C12).
The DSO is provided from 2LIS_11_VAITM (Customer order)  and 2LIS_11_V_SSL (Delivery).
My question now, how will the delivery data and the customer order data joined?
Maybe someone can explain me the data flow up to info cube 0SD_C12.
    Thanks for your help!
    Best regards
    Florian

For Deliveries in DSO 0SD_O01 a lot of Objects are not filled (like Material Customer...), that is ok because in data source deliveries are not such detailed information as in customer orders.
But if I have a look in the Cube 0SD_C12 I all Info Objects are filled.
So my Question, will the data joined together in the basis of Document number?
Maybe you can explain a little bit.
    Thank you for your help!
    Best regards
    Florian

  • How do I delete log-in items?

In System Profiler I see a log-in item that I don't want: MissingSync Mounting (I no longer use Missing Sync). How can I delete this from Log-in?

Are you referring to the items (also known as kernel extensions) listed in:
System Profiler -> Software -> Startup Items
If so, note that each item's location is listed to the right of the item in the main System Profiler window. For example, I have the Cisco VPN kernel extensions running, and their location is listed as:
    /System/Library/StartupItems/CiscoVPN
The instructions given above in the thread for removing Login Items -- they load not at startup, but as befits their name, when the user logs in -- are correct.

  • Suitcase Log In Item

I am using System 10.4.11 and I have had a script loaded that will close that pesty Suitcase window which does not hide on it owns for whatever reason w/System 10.4. It has worked liked a charm for the past year. Suddenly-it is not working anymore and I think the reason is bc it actually loading b4 suitcase does. So I decided to remove the apps from log in items and reload them to change the order in which they load. I really have no idea if that works or not-but the thing is I can not remove Suitcase from my log in items and I was wondering if anyone on these forums can tell me why. Thanks for any help w/this situation.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist
    Reboot.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

  • Log in Items not 'Sticking'.

Howdy folks. Yes, I have taken the plunge from the PC world into the cool new world of Apple Macbook Pro Lion. I am also loving my iPhone 4s, iPad 2, Apple TV, etc. However, As I have been getting familiar with the OS X Lion, I have run into a bug which appears to be a problem some other folks are experiencing. I have searched and tried most of the resolutions, but to no avail.
It is that my Login Items are not being saved or 'sticking' upon a restart/startup. Just plain won't stay around. Anybody got any deeper resolutions than just checking boxes, and doing scripting applications, deleting Preferences files, etc. I am going crazy with this, as nothing is working. Just want to have iTunes and Mail applications start each time I log in. Help would be graciously appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Yes, but some programs, like iTunes, have background apps that run to monitor your system, like inserting a cd, etc. If you delete them, you'll lose that funtionality, so be carefull what you delete.
When I shut down..do I need to QUIT each program running?
If you have any unsaved documents, and you shut down without saving, you will be prompted by each program to save your document. Otherwise, shutdown will try to quit your programs. Some programs may not behave, however. If you find any that don't, you'll have to quit them before shutdown.
Should I just shut down every night? Or leave it running? Or sleep.
That's up to you. I have left mine on for days at a time with no ill effects. If you won't be using it for a few days, it's probably a good idea to shut down. Also, if your computer is turned off every night and never allowed to run it's maintenance scripts, it could eventually lead to performance issues.
I am new to the iMac, and want to make sure I get these little details right. Thanks!

  • Qeustions about log on issues

Now we get a problem about log on for our bc4j+uixml application. In priciple before viewing our website the viewer should sign in. we use dynamic credentials as introduced under this link: http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/howtos/bc4j/howto_dynamic_jdbc.html because the user/password pairs are stored in oracle database.
    What a problem we have?
Before viewing every page Login.uix will be displayed for Log on.By testing if we sign in with right username/password it works and the desired paged will then be displayed. But with false username/password We hope the Login.uix would still be displayed untill log on succeeded. but nothing is displayed.
    What we have done ?
    1.registered oracle.cabo.servlet.loginPage and oracle.cabo.servlet.loggedInKey in web.xml.
2.We use the two java files introduced in the article above ,and of course we have replace the page LoginForm.jsp with our own Login.uix . And a eventhandler is assigned for the submit button in Login.uix
Where is the right place to handle the exception if log on failed? in that eventhandler or somewhere else? I hope some people here have also handled such a problem and can give me some suggestion.
    thanks a lot!

    Hi Yong,
Getting this behavior should be no problem. What do you return as your EventResult in the case of an invalid login?

  • Can you explain about Higher-level item category and item usage?

    Hi all
Can you explain about Higher-level item category and item usage?
    thanks all

Higher level item category and Item usage are used in the item category determination.
Let me take an example of Item Category TANN (Free of charge Item)
Item category Determination: Sales Document type + Item Category Group + Usage + Higher Level Item Category
    TA + NORM + FREE + TAN = TANN
Higher Level Item category: The category on which this item category is dependent. meaning for TAN , TANN is a free item. Therefor TAN is the higher level item category.
Item Category Usage: It controls system response during document processing. The line item has an specific usage according to that usage it has to respond. Free for free items, text for text items etc.

  • Report RSWUWFML to send mails to Outlook about the work item Arrival

    Hello,
Report RSWUWFML to send mails to Outlook about the work item Arrival - Can we make settigns so that only work items pertaining to Leave Requests are sent to the Outlook.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Poornima

    Hi Poornima,
RSWUWFML is very old, you should use RSWUWFML2 at least but if you are on release Basis 6.40 or above you should use Extended Notifications. As mentioned in the other posts you need to restrict your selection criteria by task TSXXXXXXX. The task associated with the work items you want to send a notifcation about. You need to open the workflow definition and open the step in th definition that corresponds to the work item.
Another way would be to highlight one of the work items in the users inbox SBWP in the backend and click the "Details" button in the toolbar. You will see the task ID listed there.

  • Log-In Items

    Hi guys,
Running OSX 10.8.2 and I am having trouble with adding NAS shares to my log-In Items, I add them and sure enough at boot up they are mounted.  The problem is that a finder window opens and displays the contents of the share, even when the 'hide' switch is ticked.
For what its worth I also have a G5 Powermac running 10.5 and an intel MacMini also running 10.8.2 and these also do not close the finder window.  On the other hand I have a mid2011 iMac running 10.8.2 and it CLOSES the windows after they are opened (these are the same NAS shares).
All computers have the 'Hide' option clicked. Can anyone help with this irritating issue ?
If not can anyone tell me of a better way to mount NAS shares on startup ?
    Many Regards
    Ump..

Instead of adding those volumes manually, create a new AppleScript (using the AppleScript Editor application found in the /Applications/Utilities folder). Insert code like this:
    tell application "Finder"
mount volume "afp://10.0.1.5/volumename" as user name "myuser" with password "mypass"
    end tell
You'll want to repeat the "mount volume" line for each volume you want to mount, and you'll need to replace the "10.0.1.5" with the appropriate IP address of the NAS on your network, "volumename" with the name of the volume and change the username and password to whatever is appropriate. Then save the result as an application, store it away somewhere, and make that a login item.

  • Launching a network folder via Log-in items

    Hello,
I have a network drive, and what I wanted to do was have the finder open those network folders whenever I boot up. So, I used log-in items to add the various folders. Now that I see that it launches a new finder window for each folder, I want to stop it. The problem is that the folders no longer show up as items in my log-in list. In other words, they are still opening up on log-in, but I can't see them set up as log-in items. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

So this is a user specific issue.
    Log into your user account.
    Open a finder window.
    Open the Library.
Remove the Preferences folder to the desktop.
    Log out and back in.
The system creates a new set of default preferences.
    Is the issue gone?
If it is then there is a corrupt preference file.
You can try to isolate which one is causing the issue by moving preferences to the newly created preferences folder in batches in order to isolate the culprit.
You could also just return key preferences such as the com.apple.mail.plist and simply set up new preferences just like you did when you first started the computer.
