About setting color properties to alv table....

Hi experts,
I have scenario in which i have created one node with two columns..one for data and othr for cell design...both dis node attributed are bind to standard table's column's value property and cell design properties respectively...
Bt now..dis is only poss in Standard tables...and i want da same in ALVs..
In which m not gettin where to bind dat cell design attribute of da node to ALV table...lik we bind data..using set_data( ) thg...

Then have a field cell_design in your context. And instead of calling set_cell_design, you should just say
lr_column->set_cell_design_fieldname( 'CELL_DESIGN' ).
In ALV, for every property, a method set_<property>_fieldname is available to bind the proerty to a context attribute. When you initialise your ALV settings, set this attribute and it will be bound to the cell design.
The attribute cell_design should be in the same context node that you bind to the ALV. You can make the column with column ID cell_design as invisible. This way you can set the colors even at an individual cell level. In your internal table, if you wish, you can set a particular color for a set of values etc.

Now what i want to do is depending on some condition i need to change the colors in the table display..
I tried to set the color in this way inside the loop .

This piece of code either changes all the coloumns into one color only why it is not changing the color based upon the condition . I am unable to understand..

Solved by creating a new column called cell design ... and settign the set_cell_design_fieldname ...

How to set title/text for ALV table column header in WD ABAP

Hello,
I am working in WDA using SALV_WD_Table to display data in table. I need to change the column header text, the obvious way is to get the column header and call the method SET_TEXT to set new text / title. However, this method does NOT work, it does not change the column header text. I also tried the SET_TOOLTIP, this one works, but SET_TEXT does not work. Anyone has idea why this not working and do you find any go-around solution?

Issue in setting layout variant in ALV tables

Hi,
I have 2 ALV’s displaying in a view, 1’st is a header data & 2’nd Item data.
Based on the row selection in the Header ALV, the data is determined and displayed in the 2’nd ALV i.e., the Item data.
Now the 2’nd ALV (Item data) can contain 20 columns so based on certain requirement I want to save a layout variant with only 10 Columns for display in the 2’nd ALV.
But the issue what is happening is once I change my row selection in the 1’st ALV (Header data) the layout in the second ALV is refreshing back to the 20 fields EVEN though the name of the variant layout still displays the one I saved earlier.
I have searched the SCN for this issue and found http://scn.sap.com/thread/1986147, but it does NOT work.
Could anyone please suggest a solution.

Can I change the color properties of an indicator in a cluster?

I have a cluster that has three boolean indicators in it. I would like to have an initial state (color) they are in at the beginning of my test. Is there a way to set color properties of a boolean indicator that is inside a cluster? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Troy,
I just created a simple application in which I can change the color of one of my boolean indicators on the fly. You'll find it attached to this message.
It's quite simple to do:
When you've created both clusters in the front panel, right click on the indicator you want to change the color of.
Select the option "Create"
And than select the option "Property Node"
Now you can ad whatever property to the boolean indicator you want.

ALV - How to set selected rows into internal table

I am tying to set with an 'X' flag the selected rows in my ALV using an internal table that contains all rows showed.
More exactly I have tried to follow these steps.
1) I have added the filed SEL (type SEL) to my ALV structure zrt_bo_slabsend and I defined my internal table in this way

If let's say you are build a ALV table to output 'SFLIGHT' table, and you want PLANETYPE '747-400' to be displayed in green, and PLANETYPE '146-200' displayed in red.
Also, let's just say, you already had a context node 'SFLIGHT_NODE' that is mapped to the external node 'DATA' of your ALV.
Now:
1. you need to modify the context node 'SFLIGHT_NODE' to add an attribute -- say 'CELL_COLOR' of type 'WDY_UIE_LIBRARY_ENUM_TYPE' -- to the SFLIGHT_NODE (note, you need to delete 'DICTIONARY structure' that is bind to the 'SFLIGHT_NODE' node, otherwise, you will not be able to create addition attributes)
After, you will have something like this for your context node .
CONTEXT
 --> SFLIGHT_NODE
> CARRID
> CONNID
> FLDATE
> PRICE
> PLANETYPE
> <and any other attributes you had pulled from SFLIGHT)

you are posting the querry in the wrong forum ..
but still I will answer ur querry...
Incase you are not using the standard class to make your ALV then u can set the color of each column in the propertiesof column in the design time .
Incase u see the colors in the design time but is not able to see the colors at the run time then you check the settings of the table I dont have system right now else I could have told you exact property...
else if u r amking alv from the standard class then u will have to search the net for the method to color the same ..

Hi Runali,
Get the reference to the column settings of your ALV Model. Then you can get the reference of each column by passing the column ID. There is a method set_selected_state in the column class, but that does not highlight the column as it does for a row. So what you can use is a cell design for a column that will highlight the column with a color or whatever.
lr_column = lr_column_settings->get_column( ID = id ).
lr_column->set_cell_design( preferred design ).

thank you for your answer. Yes, now I also find the class CL_SALV_WD_MULTI_CELL_EDITOR which could be used to set different UIE in one cell. But it is quite limited, just the following UIE could be used
- LinkToAction
- LinkToURL
- FileDownload
- Button
- ToggleButton

Global Setting for ALV Table in webdynpro

Hi guys,
We are in process of upgrading to EHP7 and ABAP-7.4 and we are facing one small issue on default ALV table setting where we are not getting
Grid line = 'All' insist we are getting Grid Line = 'Horizontally'.
I have seen lots of thread suggesting that we can customized it based on application but as we already have lots of webdynpro application and it not a good ideas to go in each and every application and change it.
I have a feeling there should be some place where we can set the default setting for the same may be System or Global .
Any idea on the same.

according to what i understood from your explanation you want that inspite of scrolling you need to do so on user clicking some button or some action ....
i did the same in a scenario...
what i did was just giving a input field on the screen.
and in code i just checked number of records to be less than or equal to the number user puts in the i/p field .
I chose onactionenter for doing this .
firstly i used node->invalidate.
again filled the internal table with number of records matching and displayed the same.

DropdownByKey inside ALV Table - Problem with Value set

I have Component A which has a custom controller that uses the interface controller of the ALV Component.
Custom controller has node ITAB.. that has certain attributes...
I want DropdownByKey inside the ALV Table column. I am populating the corresponding attribute of ITAB node with the value set that I want the drop down to have.
However when I execute the application..I get error
" Key XXX not present in Value Set and is not initial"
XXX is present in the Value Set table of the attribute.
Following is my code in the methods of CUSTOM CONTROLLER
Generate Value Set
nodeinfo_context = wd_context->get_node_info( ).
nodeinfo_ITAB= nodeinfo_context->get_child_node( wd_this->wdctx_ITAB ).
 Populate the Value Set
data ls_valueset type wdy_key_value.
data it_valueset type wdy_key_value_table.
ls_valueset-key = 'FRA'.
ls_valueset-value = 'FRANCE'.
Append ls_valueset to it_valueset.
ls_valueset-key = 'SFO'.

SO the Value Set is getting set for attribute ATTR1, but still I get Error
"The value selectedKey = "SFO" in DropDownByKey "_8C" does not exist in the value list and is not initial either "

You have forgotten to set a cell variant. I had the same with setting a ProgressIndicator cell-editor to a table column as default editor. This causes the column to be hidden on the table while it did show up in the settings dialog. I removed the set_editor( lr_progressindicator) and created a cell variant instead with this lr_progressindicator. You then need to add this cell variant to your column. By default it will select the standard viewtext-cell-editor (which can only be textview and inputfield, like when you create a table yourself in a view), but if you use a cell variant, it will display the required cell editor if you set it (last line of the code).
In your case, replace lr_progressindicator by your ref_dropdownkey.
