About SQL Form 3.0

Dear all,
I just want to ask that, in SQL Form 3.0, we can create some frames in the painter for having better displaying effect. What key combinations can we use for having those frames? For instance, what key combinations do we use for having a big rectangle?
Thks & Rgds,
Edward

Again use the 'End' key to create a highlight box. Move the cursor to where you want the line to finish and press 'End' again. This should give you 2 white boxes on your image painter screen. Now press 'Shift'+'F9' to create your lines.

Use the 'End' key to create a highlight box then use the arrow keys to enlarge your highlight selection. Press 'F1' to copy then use the 'Insert' key to paste your selection.

  • Development integration with SQL*Forms

    Dear All:
I do work for Intergraph and have a custommer who is asking about any development (like an OCX) for developing SQL*Forms with the help of that OCX (or whatever available tool) from the inside of our "object oriented Automation Server" called Geomedia, which is a GIS (geographic information system). The thing is that they want to use SQL*Forms from Geomedia in order to develop and customize the interface of their tabular data capture modules, keeping the aspect of their outside (standalone) system, developed with SQL*Forms. Is it possible? Is there any thing available for that?
Thanks in advance for your help and comment,
    Gilberto Chavez.

    Any body please help me.
We are getting a lot of inquiries about the migration from SQL*Forms 3.0 to Forms 6i. For this purpose we want to do
a trial migration at our office.
for doing this we want a copy of SQL*FORMS 3.0.
Anybody can help me where we can get the SQL*Forms 3.0 package and how to get it.
    Thanks and regards
    Satish

I've never done any database migration from 6 to 8i only from 7 to 8. But you can try to do this and see if it works. Try to export out one table from your Oracle 6 database as a trial and import that table into your Oracle 8i. If this works, you can export the whole database and re-import that into 8i. Of course, this is assuming that you want to change nothing in the schema. Most of the time we find that it is not really worthwhile doing a migration like that except for preserving historical data. We would normally import data and then transform it making full use of the new features offered by Oracle 8i.

  • Convert sql form 3.0 to oracle form

    hi all
if someone know how to convert oracle sql form 3.0 to oracle form
    best regards

    Hi Samer:
The f45gen executable tha come with forms 4.5 can move your forms to 4.5 and then you can upgrade to forms 6i (or possibly 9i). Unfortunately I am writing this from home and I do not have Forms 4.5 her but I do have it at work. I'll sees if I can get you the correct syntax by tomorrow (if I have time). In the mean time if you have forms 4.5 you can try looking at the help for maybe f45gen or conversion, etc and you may get the syntax. Hope this helps.

Try the below query. You can modify the TRANSLATE function to add the characters you want to remove from the string.
    select 'a'||replace(translate(str,'()* ','`'),'`') from testtable

    Community Feedback (No Product Questions)
Now I dont know what i have to study next for getting query related jobs.No clue in what country you are. So a general answer:
But besides studying, you'll need a mentor, an experienced person who may help you either though his/her network or his/her own belief you're able to do the job.
Now I dont know what i have to study Besides studying, it is important to gain 'real-life' experience.

  • Can sql*forms version 3 run in oracle 8 or higher database

I support an application developed many years ago with sql forms version 3 - has .inp files for the source code. It is currently running on a 7.3.4 database. My bos has asked why the database cannot be updated to a newer version. It is my understanding theat newer versions of the database do not support the types of triggers used in sql*forms. is this correct?

  • Simple question about tabular forms: error in MRU

    hi to all,
i write here to check if what i think about tabular forms is confirmed.
If i build a master- detail or tabular form and the underlying table are modified, the page where the tabulare form is contained doesn't work anymore.
if what i've written above is correct, is there a way to realign the fields of the tabular forms to the db fields and make my page work again without rebuilding all?
Can i modify something, somewhere inside apex to make my page run again?
The error i get (in italian / english)
Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Errore in MRU: riga= 0, ORA-20001: ORA-20001: La versione corrente dei dati nel database è cambiata da quando l'utente ha iniziato il processo di aggiornamento. checksum corrente = "ED73B05FA6016F8D5F3B4B5B69AF482D", checksum elementi = "CFD72DCC4221A340057D654B54EA7A04"., update "NEWPROJ"."CNT_VAL_SEG_DEMO" set "ID" = :b1, "FK_CNT" = :b2
Means: The version of data in db (fields of the tables?) has changed since the user started the update process.
By the way this sentence under my opinion can trick you as
in italian 'La versione corrente dei dati nel database'
can means both that data contained in tables have changed (dml error / process error / data the user see not are the real underlying data). Can mean as well the field definition is changed, however a more meaningful message in italian is: ' la definizione delle tabelle usate dall'oggetto tabular form é cambiata'.
That translated in english is ' DDL of table/s used by tabular form has changed'.
    thanx a lot

    HI Heinz,
yes is now clear, however is a pity that a litte change in the query has a lot of
implications: a change in the structure of DB means new feature / the data model is not alligned with current requirement. So usually (but not always) it means changing the SELECT as well.
Such Apex is a Rad an impression is that if you build a complex forms with several linked reports / field and one day you have to change the query of the TABULAR FORM / MASTER DETAIL generated with report you get a lot of rebuilding.
I think i will avoid the use of this 2 object in the future and use more htmldb.items in the select.
    bye bye

  • Few common questions about Mobile Forms

    Hello, everyone!
I have a few questions about mobile forms:
Can a form be integrated with a portal, which is build NOT on Adobe CQ\AEM technology?
I've created a form and loaded it to the server repository via Form Manager. Now I can access it in my browser like this:
    http://testlcserver:8080/lc/content/xfaforms/profiles/hrform.html?contentRoot=repository%3 A%2F%2F%2FApplications%2FTest%2F1.0&template=UberForm.xdp&dataRef=
And the question is: what is the right way to share forms to users on a production environment (without integration in a portal pages on so on, let it be just a link to a form which users have to fill in)?  I mean, should it be the same link, or it is only for developers need and to share forms to users some other way must be used?

For integrating on custom portal, you would need to integrate with form submit proxy for handling of submission as mentioned @ http://helpx.adobe.com/livecycle/help/mobile-forms/mobile-forms-service-proxy.html.
As far as url of form is concerned, it’s really up you. You can choose to hide the request parameters as couple of other customers are doing. You can find more information about hiding form template and content root from request parameter @ http://blogs.adobe.com/foxes/hide-parameters-from-mobile-form-url/

Simpler solution. Go Start->Programs->Oracle Developer 6.0->Forms Compiler. Fill in the details you require and don't forget to mark the square Upgrade from 3.0 Forms or 5.0 Menu. If you do not understand something, you probably do not need it.

  • A question for SQL*Form 3.0 (within Open VMS)

    Hi,
    I've seen a command line
    IAP_UL EVACNTDIR:REPORT_PAR
within a SQL*form. Since it's within Open VMS, I do not know how to refer to such place - 'EVACNTDIR'.
    Does anyone know this?
    Thks & Rgds,
    HuaMin

Based on the statement 'EVACNTDIR' appears to be an OpenVMS logical which is similar to a shortcut or alias in other operating systems that would contain a disk and directory. You can find out what it is really accessing by doing a SHOW LOGICAL EVACNTDIR at the OpenVMS propmt.

  • About SQL tracer

Hi, I want to know about SQL tracer i.e. how can we perform SQL tracer on our program specifically.
    Please do this needful
    Thanks
    Suren

    Hi
SQL Trace transaction ST05: The trace list has many lines that are not related to the SELECT statement in the ABAP program. This is because the execution of any ABAP program requires additional administrative SQL calls. To restrict the list output, use the filter introducing the trace list.
The trace list contains different SQL statements simultaneously related to the one SELECT statement in the ABAP program. This is because the R/3 Database Interface - a sophisticated component of the R/3 Application Server - maps every Open SQL statement to one or a series of physical database calls and brings it to execution. This mapping, crucial to R/3s performance, depends on the particular call and database system. For example, the SELECT-ENDSELECT loop on a particular database table of the ABAP program would be mapped to a sequence PREPARE-OPEN-FETCH of physical calls in an Oracle environment.
The WHERE clause in the trace list's SQL statement is different from the WHERE clause in the ABAP statement. This is because in an R/3 system, a client is a self-contained unit with separate master records and its own set of table data (in commercial, organizational, and technical terms). With ABAP, every Open SQL statement automatically executes within the correct client environment. For this reason, a condition with the actual client code is added to every WHERE clause if a client field is a component of the searched table.
To see a statement's execution plan, just position the cursor on the PREPARE statement and choose Explain SQL. A detailed explanation of the execution plan depends on the database system in use.
    Starting the Trace:
To analyze a trace file, do the following:
Choose the menu path Test  Performance Trace in the ABAP Workbench or go to Transaction ST05. The initial screen of the test tool appears. In the lower part of the screen, the status of the
Performance Trace is displayed. This provides you with information as to whether any of the Performance Traces are switched on and the users for which they are enabled. It also tells you which user has switched the trace on.
Using the selection buttons provided, set which trace functions you wish to have switched on (SWL trace, enqueue trace, RFC trace, table buffer trace).
If you want to switch on the trace under your user name, choose Trace on.  If you want to pass on values for one or several filter criteria, choose Trace with Filter.  Typical filter criteria are: the name of the user, transaction name, process name, and program name.
Now run the program to be analyzed.
    Stopping the Trace:
    To deactivate the trace:
Choose Test Performance Trace in the ABAP Workbench. The initial screen of the test tool appears. It contains a status line displaying the traces that are active, the users for whom they are active, and the user who activated them.
Select the trace functions that you want to switch off.
Choose Deactivate Trace. If you started the trace yourself, you can now switch it off immediately. If the performance trace was started by a different user, a confirmation prompt appears before deactivation-
    Analyzing a Sample trace data:
PREPARE: Prepares the OPEN statement for use and determines the access method.
OPEN: Opens the cursor and specifies the selection result by filling the selection fields with concrete values.
FETCH: Moves the cursor through the dataset created by the OPEN operation. The array size displayed beside the fetch data means that the system can transfer a maximum package size of 392 records at one time into the buffered area.

  • About SQL Developer tables

    Hi buddies;
My question is about SQL Developer 1.5.5, I'm a beginner with this tool, and I was reading the table of contains, but I couldn't find anything
about relational tables. For example, what I want to know is where can I see the parent or child tables of any table. In toad you can see that
info together with the field that is the link. For example, I got a table that has relationship with other five tables (child tables), however
with SQL Developer for that specific table, in tag Dependencies I can see packages, views, and triguer. So, where can I see the tables
    names related to this table?

Out of the box, you can't; this has been a missing feature over all versions up to date.
On the bright side, sqldev is easily extendible with user defined XML extensions. There's a [References/Referenced By extension|http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=42626:54:1130207409801024::::P54_ID:601] on the SQL Developer Exchange that shows how to add these missing tabs.
