About tabstrip

hi experts,
i have to define tabstrip and subscreen areaat single screen (let 9001) and in tabstrip attribute pass thatsubscreen area as reference , so that tabstrip have a common area. what i have done , have created tabstrip named main_tab having push button main_tab_tab1 , fct code - main_tab,  reference - main_tab_sca
                  main_tab_tab2,  fct code - main_tab,  reference - main_tab_sca
subscreen area - main_tab_sca,
but when i activate it gives error that main_tab_tab1 is not assigned to subscreen.
please suggest.
Again is it possible to drag tabstrip on subscreen area, if yes , how.
i am waiting, points sure,
Thanks,
Anshu

Hi Anshu,
As you have said... You have assigned different FCODS to different buttons.
There are two concepts in TAB STRIP.
1. Local Scrolling at the Frontend ( PAI will not trigger when you move from one tab to another.) You need to have a different subscreen for each tab page.
2. Scrolling at the Application Server. (PAI will trigger) You will need only one sub screen here.
Now as you are using only one subscreen you want option 2.... YA.
Here you have to define the function codes of the individual tab titles without a special function type. I.e Double clieck on the tab buttong and see in property which function type you have used. If you have used any remove it error will go.
Hope this will help for any doubt in UI and MODULE POOL programming you can contact me, I will try to help where-ever I can.
Darshan.

  • Query about TABSTRIP Control within Sub screen

    Hi Expert,
    I have requirement like follows:
In IW32->Enhancement Tab screen is as subscreen and No: 0900.
Now I want to have 2 different sub screen say 0910 and 0920 each of this for different purpose according to
Order Type as per clients requirement.
Actaully I have developed screen 0900 already for some order type and now clients requirement changed i.e.
there are 2 different groups of Order types (say Grp1 and Grp2)
So, I proposed a solution for this as follows:
In Enhancement Tab of IW32 according to group of Order Type (either Grp1 or Grp2) only you will be able to
see fields for that perticular Grp either of 2.
    Technical Solution is like...
    1) I thought that I will create 2 subscreens say 0910 and 0920.
    2) In 0910 i will insert all those fields which are designed already in 0900 which is for Grp1
    3) and for Grp2 i will design 0920
    4) according to Order Type only 0910 or 0920 client will be able to see.
Now I got stuck in between the screen development for 0920 because there are so many fields and i said to
client that they will be able to see those fields in different Tab strips.
I never worked on Tab Strip concept, I search so many forums and sites for Lesson on Tab Strip but not
understood how to proceed as per my specific requiment.
Please can anyone suggest me how to proceed further.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Jay.

There's no reason why you couldn't do it.
A tabstrip control is simply made of a subscreen area and a "tabstrip" above, where each tab corresponds to a button/function code. You have 2 ways to define/program it, "local" or "server", the difference being a better performance with the "local" (interesting in slow WAN).
In ABAPDOCU demos, you have 2 programs DEMO_DYNPRO_TABSTRIP_LOCAL and DEMO_DYNPRO_TABSTRIP_SERVER.

  • How to change the text of a tabstrip?

    Hallo Experts,
There are 3 tabstrips in Screen Painter with the name tabstrip1, tabstrip2 and tabstrip3. The default text ist: customer_fields1, customer fields2, customer fields3.
Now I want to change the text of tabstrips in real time. E.g. text of tabstrip1 should be "Financial Data".
    How can I do it?
    Thanks,
    Rujing

Well, I've tried out some possible solutions, but none of the worked, I could not change the text dynamically during runtime.
You have some alternate solutions: create more tabs, and show hide them during runtime. For this you can use the dynpro's PBO event, and within the LOOP AT SCREEN... ENDLOOP. statements.
And an another one (that's absolutely not an elegant soluton
    - create a DDIC structure (in SE11 transaction), with a field, like ZMYSTRUCTURE-ZMYFIELD. This field should refer to a data element, like ZMYDATAELEMENT. Here you can set a default text for this data element.
    - assign this ZMYSTRUCTURE-ZMYFIELD field to the name of your tabstip's tab.
    - when you wanted to change the text, you have to change the text, you update the text of your data element ZMYDATAELEMENT, in the table DD04T.
This might work... I'm not sure about it, but you might give it a shot.

  • Dynamic name for a tab in a tabstrip

    Hello,
I have a tab strip with 10 tabs and all of them have the text Target 1 to 10. Depending on the information one of the tabs must display another text at runtime and I don´t know how.
I found here some posting where it is stated that I have to declare a variable in my programme with the same name as the tab and in PBO I can assign the new text. This unfortunately does not work. I declared the text as string when we´re talking about a pushbutton.
    Can someone help ??

    1) Tick the "output only" of all your tabstrip buttons
    2) Declare the tabstrip button names as variables in your abap program (string or C, as you want) and fill them with the text you want

  • Reg: Selection screen tabstrip

    Hi all,
I need to create a screen with tab strip and inside the tab it should hold a subscreen containing text element and checkbox and a  button.

  • How to hide a tab from the existing tabstrip of CRMD_BUS2000111 transaction

I have to hide competitor tab from the tabstrip of CRMD_BUS2000111 transaction in CRM. I have tried shd0 but since this is not a dialog transaction we cannot create screen variant. After that I tried BUCO transaction. In BUCO I selected Sales Area data then competitors. But when I double click on compititors it is showing a message VCT control for screen configuration does not exist.
I do not have much idea about BUCO. Can any one help me solving my problem?

    Friends
With the following command you can register you .ocx ( Visual Buttons Control files ) in windows.
    REGSVR32 C:\Progra~1\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\vistransmitter.ocx
The above command will register said file in the registry and facilitate Visual Configurator Tool to run for Screen Sequence Modifications. With the above I also recommend Latest Patch (23), which is available with SAP to update on the windows frontend to avoid some other known frond end issues.
Before doing all above make sure your have 2 files existence in the C:\Progra~1\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui folder
    Visu_se.exe
    vistransmitter.ocx

  • Dynamic programming tabstrip, no tabs in pull down navigation menu

    Hi everybody,
I create with dynamic programming a tabstrip with some tabs. Than I have the problem that the navigation menu ( or pull down menu ) for the navigation between the tabs is not filled.
So my question is, must I put the generated tabs in the menu and how, or is it a feature not yet supported? I couldn’t find a method to do this.
    Thanks for any help

Consider redesigning again? The page is 240 kb, which is
    about 200 kb
more than it should be. It would be OK if everyone used a
    high speed
connection, but broadband penetration in the US is stuck at
    around 50%.
About half your viewers aren't going to stick around until
    the page

  • I want  to know about smartforms

    hi experts tell me
i want to know about smartforms
anybody have material pls send me
    thanks in advance

SAP Smartforms can be used for creating and maintaining forms for mass printing in SAP Systems. The output medium for Smartforms support printer, fax, e-mail, or the Internet (by using the generated XML output).
According to SAP, you need neither have any programming knowledge nor use a Script language to adapt standard forms. However, basic ABAP programming skills are required only in special cases (for example, to call a function module you created or for complex and extensive conditions).
    1. Create a new smartforms
          Transaction code SMARTFORMS
          Create new smartforms call ZSMART
    2. Define looping process for internal table
    Pages and windows
First Page -> Header Window (Cursor at First Page then click Edit -> Node -> Create)
Here, you can specify your title and page numbering
          &SFSY-PAGE& (Page 1) of &SFSY-FORMPAGES(Z4.0)& (Total Page)
Main windows -> TABLE -> DATA
In the Loop section, tick Internal table and fill in
ITAB1 (table in ABAP SMARTFORM calling function) INTO ITAB2
    3. Define table in smartforms
    Global settings :
    Form interface
Variable name    Type assignment   Reference type
    ITAB1               TYPE                  Table Structure
    Global definitions
Variable name    Type assignment   Reference type
    ITAB2               TYPE                  Table Structure
    4. To display the data in the form
Make used of the Table Painter and declare the Line Type in Tabstrips Table
e.g.  HD_GEN for printing header details,
            IT_GEN  for printing data details.
You have to specify the Line Type in your Text elements in the Tabstrips Output options.
Tick the New Line and specify the Line Type for outputting the data.
Declare your output fields in Text elements
    Tabstrips - Output Options
For different fonts use this Style : IDWTCERTSTYLE
For Quantity or Amout you can used this variable &GS_ITAB-AMOUNT(12.2)&
    5. Calling SMARTFORMS from your ABAP program
    REPORT ZSMARTFORM.
Calling SMARTFORMS from your ABAP program.
Collecting all the table data in your program, and pass once to SMARTFORMS
    SMARTFORMS
Declare your table type in :-
    Global Settings -> Form Interface
    Global Definintions -> Global Data
Main Window -> Table -> DATA

i got an interview question that can we place multiple subscreens i.e, more than 1 subscreen in a tab page--in tab strips?
    plz give ans.

    Hi,
This is possible. Paging in Tab Strip Control is achieved in two ways

  • Cl_gui_docking_container & tabstrip

How can I add a TABSTRIP to a Docking Container?
Any pointers to some snippet of code?
I was thinking of creating a screen which has a tabcontrol (say 100) but how do I add this screen to the docking container?
For adding TREE to docking container I have cl_simple_tree_model class which takes docking container as the parent. Is there a similar class for TABCONTROL also?

So it means Classic Screen can contain - GUI controls controls and GUI controls can contain - GUI controls only.
Yup,  GUI controls (only containers) can hold other GUI controls, but classic screen is intended to use them both (directly - classic controls, or inderictly - GUI controls).
There is no way possible that GUI control having Classic Screen. Is there a reason behind this? Why it is so? And any work around from a UI design point of view.
GUI controls (here containers - as these only can hold other GUI controls) can have any classic parts (subscreens, controls) inside it. For some technical reasons this is not possible. Classic controls reside in Application Server (in ABAP program), while GUI controls have their respective instance in SAP GUI (Frontend) called proxy objects . These two have different communication with each other (ABAP object <-> proxy object).
I have a UI with two sections:
    - Left view holds a tree and details informations about tree and user details.
    - Right section holds screen based of which type of tree node is selected
Now left tree has three type of info and hence I want to categorize them using TABSTRIP. Any other component I can look into for achiving similar UI design?
Instead of using docking container, you can make use of collapsible areas . This is special dialog technique which requires using subscreens. On the left you would place i.e. 3 areas (subscreen) each per one cathegory, in each would be a GUI Tree control. now you can collapse each area and exand depending on requirement (refere transaction BIBS -> link Collapsible Area ). In each such block you could place tree control. For details how to implement it refer expand/collapse button functionality on module pool screen
Antoher way would be placing tabstrip directly on screen layout (on the left) and inside each display one subscreen, in that place your custom container, in that place your GUI tree control. You would in fact have the functionality of resizing container (as in docking container) but you would achieve cathegorization.
