Absence d'images à l'ouverture de Delcampe

# Question

  • Fireworks Menu Appearing Behind Content

    Hi All
I have an existing website built in Macromedia Studio 8. I would like to upgrade to Web Premium CS5.5. As a result, I am currently using a trial version which has helped me to redesign the whole website. I am not proficient in code writing and have a basis understanding of the software. (That is why I am testing the trial version first). However, I an faced with TWO problems.
The first is, although my templates were built using one of Adobe's page layout formats (then customised), some of the pages are no longer centred.
The second is, I have created menu's in both Fireworks (Studio 8 then edited in Fireworks CS5.1 creative suite master collection and saved) and Spry (in Dreamweaver CS5.5) - which have now caused the menus to appear behind content on some of the pages.
I have tried to use the pages which look fine in the browser as templates but, sadly, when the content is changed/added to, the menu appears behind again.
    I would appreciate any help.
    S
P.S.I can't publish a link as I am using a trial version of the software at present.

Thank you for your prompt reply Snake eyes,

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the div. The elements within this div have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.

Is this possible in CS4 DW

    Good afternoon All
I wonder if you could help me.
I am currently trying to centre pages and get my fireworks/spry website menu to work.
On some of the pages the menus work and can be seen above the content however, on other pages, the content isn't centred, nor do the menu's work.
When I created the templates for the website, I used the basic version supplied with the software that was supposed to centre the pages.
    Below are code examples:

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the div. The elements within this div have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.

  • Apple Pro Keyboard with Mac OS 9?

I recently was given an Apple Pro keyboard model A1048. I've found that the specs state it will only work with X 10.2 or later.
Well I plugged it into my Mac OS 9.2.2 system just to see what would happen. Mostly the keyboard worked fine. But there are a few keys that don't work:
    F16
    Vol up
    Vol down
    Disk eject
and a couple of others in the group of keys on the upper right of the keyboard.
Is there any hope of finding software that will make the keyboard fully operational with 9.2.2?

    Hi Gary;
That is one of the major restrictions with remaining on a outdated version of an operating system so much of the newer equipment just will not work because no one is supporting it any longer. So unless you have an absolute requirement to remain on OS 9 which is no longer supported, I would suggest that you look into migrating over to something a bit newer.
Sorry for jumping in here. But I just have to mention that I've been using OS9 since it first came, and I'm not getting rid of it. It's customised to pitch-perfection for my personal use, e.g. a lot of the extensions have been chucked out.
It's stable like a rock (and has been for several years) and its responsiveness is INSTANT -- the OS as well as the programs I use. Menues and dialogue boxes appear instantly. Text appears as I type. Most documents in most programs scroll in perfect synchrony with my finger movements on the mouse, irrespective of document size or the presence/absence of images and and tables (Photoshop is a bit slow with large files). The cursor ends up where I move the mouse, and not half-a-centimeter on the side, under, or wherever.
I have NONE of that as regular features in Tiger. Some programs work fine, others don't. The OS itself is noticeably more sluggish than OS9. I suggest you try the two systems side by side some day. You'll be surprised at OS9's superiority in terms of responsiveness. Sometime in the future, I hope to be able to tweak Tiger to OS9 standards. Fingers crossed.
Still, Tiger is beautiful, useful, more up-to-date, and no doiubt technically more well-adjusted to modern times, and thus it's also my main OS. However, that's mostly because new versions of programs require it, my printer does't have OS9 drivers, and more and more web pages require OSX browser. (Although the web works fine in OS9, at least for the most part, e.g. youtube, but secure banking doesn't.)
Personally, I'm a bit offended (perhaps a too strong word) when I ses suggestions (however well-intended) to migrate away from OS9, as if OS9 users don't know what they're doing. I boot regularly into OS9, almost daily, full well knowing what I do, and doing so because it offers me advantages that Tiger can't give to me.
The versions of MS Word (5.1), Photoshop (4/5), FileMaker (5), etc., that I use in OS9 have all the bells and whistles I need. I use them for professional purposes. They work smoother and quicker than any of the more recent versions, even though there are functions that are obviously technically more pleasing in later versions.
The only thing that's become a real problem is Unicode, which my OS9 programs don't support. Hence I have to do a bit of editing in Tiger versions of, say, Word, before I can disseminate a word file to others. But I don't mind. The time I save by having a smooth work flow in OS9 is worth it.
    Sorry for the rant.

  • CRS 10.1 with Endeca 3.1.1 -home page doesn't show image and promo products

Thanks to this forum and especially cmore I'm close to setting up my local dev environment, but still have something to resolve.
I have ATG 10.1.2 + CRS + Endeca 3.1.1. I installed BCC with Staging and Production (switchable) stores.
The problem is with Production CRS - both US Store and Home Store don't show image and promoted products on Home page.
What I see below Top Category pane is empty square. Unlike Production, home page on Stage works fine - I see homepage_promo_storeSiteUS_en_anonymous.png and promoted products.
I think the problem is not related to Endeca, as I currently connect both Stage and Prod to the same Endeca CRS, I also believe that issue is not related to configuration - I tried to run production with Stage configuration, and it changed nothing. I believe the issue is somewhere in data (DB) - but I did full deployment for Prod and it didn't help. I verified targeters and slots on Prod through ACC, and they looks fine. So don't know at this point what to do next.
While doing full deploy I see some errors in the log which might be related to the issue, But the same errors I see on Stage as well and still Stage works without issues:

Last update: I compared Stage and Prod home pages HTML code, and notice that the first difference between two pages is absence of endeca-slot Div, the below code present on Stage, and is Not present on Prod:
It is the first difference only , there are a bunch more.

    After some analysis and experiments:
Most likely the issue is with Scenarios. HomeTheme Slot is populated by Theme scenario.
For some reason the slot remains empty on "bad" environment. On "good" environment the slot contain promo content item after the first call of the slot. I checked respective targeter and promo content item, and they look OK, so I believe something wrong with Scenarios.

I am not sure that I submitted this with the right boxes ticked, so i am re submitting it!
In preparation for installing bootcamp and windows 7, and in the absence of a DVD drive on my MacBook Air, before starting, can I partition my external drive (for use with my Mac) to have an ISO image file location for Windows downloads?

How can I allow a customer to upload an image to be stuck onto a mug or t-shirt and then view what it would look like on that mug or t-shirt?

In the absence of drivers, a rather nasty way to achieve this would be to ensure that your software always occupies the same portion of the screen such that you know the position of the 'sample' button. You could then simulate a mouse click at those coordinates when you require a sample to be taken.
This would not be a robust solution as a user could move or minimise the window, or other windows could also find their way into the critical position and cause the application to work incorrectly or cause unexpected things to happen.
However, if you just need a short term work around this method might be acceptable, just be aware of the risks if you try it.
Searching for simulate mouse clicks and having a play is the way forward.
As an example of simulating a mouse click in a certain position, have a look here:

  • Mono line art image reproduction

My book has about 150 scanned B/W line drawings which I have as TIFF files, 1 bit per pixel. Currently these are CCITT Fax 4 compressed, making them small, less than 100kb/page. I am submitting an Indesign-generated PDF of the book to a digital book printer. Q: Does the presence or absence of compression in the image files before placement in the book have any bearing on the image data within the PDF produced by Indesign? I am unsure whether I need to switch to an uncompressed format (about 10x more data) to avoid production problems on the digital printer.

Actually this is a slighly daft question as I can just check the PDF files sizes, but any observations or experiences on this subject are welcome. The output device is a 'Nipson Varypress'.

  • Match color space when opening image in photoshop

hi, i have new macbook air and when i export image from lightroom as TIFF (pro photo RGB) and import to photoshop, it asks what to do that embedded color space does not match with settings, therefore i changed that in photoshop (edit/color settings to pro photo rGB ), however my question is:  if there is any problem because my notebook display is set (system preferences) to "color LCD"
when i set my display as pro photo RGB, it base blue tone, i must use Apple's preset called "colour LCD"

    Good day!
if there is any problem because my notebook display is set (system preferences) to "color LCD"
Your screen profile should generally not be set to your RGB Working Space as this would kind of negate Color Management.
And in the absence of a proper custom profile the maker’s default profile seems to be a valid choice.

  • Image Display got rotten (really: the Indicator, not the Image!)

I'd like to hear comments on the following VI, containing just a single Image Display Indicator, which, for some reason got corrupted during porting across LV versions and resizing. By divide and conquer I found that it was the origin of pretty odd problems that I was observing in a complex VI: absence of front panel updates, pull down menues not displayed, actions needing a double press of buttons, and so on.
The VI is saved from LV2012 windows, also attached as saved for 8.5. Just opening it, on 2 installation of Labview, I turn labview into something responding oddily. (try to pull down a menu, e.g.). Linux LV seems not to suffer from it, maybe because it places a nonfunctional FP placeholder for this control, without trying to cope with its nonfunctionality.
The question is perhaps, why LV doesn't detect the problem and behaves so weirdly with it -- bug?

Yes, I was able to see this trouble as well. Checked in different versions (2010 and 2012 x86/x64). But was unable to re-create this VI from scratch. It seems to be that Vision Control was broken in customization attempt where cluster with buttons was rearranged from vertical to horizontal position (may be in combination with saving for previous LabVIEW version).
Time to time I do the same (for example save VI with vision controls from v. 8.6 to 7.1) and I've got lot of situations when "downgraded" VI cannot be opened or caused just crash, or broken. Something is wrong.
Quick and dirty analysis of the given "BadImage.vi" shows that the problem with refreshing is present. LabVIEW tries to refresh this control continuously.
In Process Explorer we can see one thread with 100% CPU load (overall 20-25 percent, because I have 4 CPUs):
In Call Stack we may see DrawImageControl function which is called from niviswnd.dll.
Well, load this stuff into debugger, set breakpoint and see - this function called continuously:
called somewhere from SetPIClusterPartSize from LabVIEW.
I don't want to go deeper into call chain analysis (anyway makes no sense without source), but short walking in debugger shows that messages continuously fired:
    Check it with Spy:
There are thousands WM_PAINT messages which continuously sent to the Window with this weird control. Looks like attempts for update, but due some internals errors this called again and again.
The messages queue is full with WM_PAINT - therefore LabVIEW is "unresponsive" - context menus cannot be shown, dialogs cannot be closed, slow reaction, etc.
Sorry for slightly off-topic above, but may be this will be helpful for NI's engineers for further investigation.
    Andrey.

  • Why does LR3 not produce sRGB compatible images?

An image that I fine-tuned in the Develop module will look flatter  (less-saturated) when exported as a JPG and viewed in a browser, if the  browser is not colour-managed. This happens despite the fact that the image is exported using the sRGB colour space.
If I view the JPG image with a colour-managed browser (Firefox with a colour-plugin) then it looks exactly like in the Develop module.
Why is that? If I select the "sRGB" colour space, I expect LR to not add a colour profile at all and create output that will look identical in colour-managed and non-colour managed browers. I certainly don't expect the output to look flat in comparison to what I fine-tune in the develop module. I selected "Only images with ICC tags." in the Firefox colour managment plugin and still it renders LR images differently than non-managed browers.
This is not an issue of being fooled by black backgrounds or something like that. Please see the attached screenshot showing a) Firefox colour -managed rendering, b) IE non-colour-managed rendering, and c) LR Develop module view. The effect is much more visible when the images are viewed large but you can still see the differences in hue and saturation of the greens and reds in the below screenshot between the colour-managed renderings (Firefox and LR -> left & right) and non-managed (IE in the middle). Other non-managed applications show the same rendering as IE.
The free Picasa application manages to procude output that looks identical in all browsers and the Picasa "Develop" view. Please see the second attached screenshot which shows the same browsers in the same order. (The images look different to the images in the first screenshot because I didn't spend a lot of time in Picasa to do fine-tuning and it doesn't allow the same control anyhow.)
I'm using LR3.2 on Windows XP.
I noticed a difference between LR Develop module rendering and viewing on the web (or other non-colour-managed applications) before but always put it down to a "black background" illusion.
I find it unacceptable that I cannot see what I'll get with an sRGB target space within LR unless the application used for viewing is colour-managed. Too many people out there don't use colour-managed applications and the Picasa example shows that it is possible to have a WYSIWYG approach.

The fact that the image is in sRGB, or any other space for that matter, does not mean it should look in a certain expected way in a non-managed viewer/browser.
The idea of sRGB is to be the standard colour space.  HP and Microsoft proposed sRGB to achieve the same effect that you get by transforming a media's colour space to the output space without the use of explicit ICC profiles. I understand that nowadays if something isn't explicitly colour-managed it implicitly uses the sRGB colour space. While uncalibrated monitors will not exactly comply (e.g., not have exactly a gamma value of 2.2) they are typically quite close. Are they not?
Also, if I calibrate my monitor (which I have), isn't the idea that if I feed it with an sRGB image in a non-colour managed application that the image will appear exactly as intended? I thought that a non-colour managed application simply ignores the media's colour space (assuming it is sRGB) but that the OS always uses the monitor profile (be it a standard sRGB one or a profile that resulted from a calibration). As a matter of fact, the latter must be the case because images in non-colour managed applications look differently depending on whether I have the calibration profile for my monitor active or not.
A non-color managed browser, like Internet explorer, takes the source color assuming it's sRGB (beit with an embedded profile or not) and does not convert to your monitor's color space, assuming all monitors' spaces are sRGB.
I agree regarding the assumption about the source colour space being sRGB but I'm convinced that the OS always converts into the monitor's colour space. That's what the .icm profiles are for. Are you saying that they are only used for colour-managed applications? Why do I then see a change in Windows XP's colours at the very moment the OS gets around making the colour profile active (during start up)? This overall change in display characteristics also influences non-colour managed applications.
Bottom line: use color managed software, do no trust or expect anything from non-color-managed software.
I general I agree with you but I thought the idea of sRGB was to make things work in the absence of explicit colour spaces. I cannot believe that calibrating my monitor (providing the OS with an individual profile of my monitor's colour space) only is supposed to make a difference for colour-managed applications. According to my understanding and my experience, the OS always applies the default .icm colour profile.
How do you explain that the Picasa output looks the same in Firexfox and IE? Are you saying that the absence of any colour space information in the Picasa output stops the OS from transforming from sRGB into the monitor's colour space? Wouldn't that be a stupid thing to do? Why not always transform into the monitor's colour space?
Have a look at bullet "4." of "Browsing Scenarios" in "A Standard Default Color Space for the Internet - sRGB":
    4. Image in sRGB, and system has a monitor/output device ICC profile
In this scenario, the image has been run through a transform that consists of the input device ICC profile, and the sRGB ICC profile, or it was created using devices that conform to sRGB. Because the system has an ICC profile for the output device, the image can be converted to the output device's color space and imaged. The resulting image will be consistent across devices, and will be very close to the original in appearance.
Clearly there is a difference between LR's output and Picasa's output in terms of triggering a colour space transformation. Since I'm assuming that the transformation into the monitor's colour space always takes place, I came to the conclusion that LR's output is not quite sRGB causing colour-managed applications to perform a media colour space transformation.
To summarise: You are assuming that "non-colour-managed" means a) ignoring the media's colour space and b) ignoring the output device colour space. I'm assuming that "non-colour-managed" only means a) ignoring the media's colour space but that the OS always respects any present output device colour space profile.
I admit that I'm not an expert in these matters but I hope you see my points. Not always using the monitor profile would just be terribly daft and defy the purpose of calibration for all but the colour-managed applications. Further clarification would be much appreciated.

  • Solaris 10 install problem (requested image to big to fit into memory)

I have just downloaded the iso images and burned to disk. When I go to install I get the message (Requested image to big to fit into memory Error 28) I have 1.5GB so I don't understand the problem. Thanks in advance
It took a long time for me to figure out, but the answer is disable in BIOS memory hole at 15M to 16M. This solved the install problem with Open Solaris and quite a few more such as not being able to install Linux Zenwalk 5.0 or openSUSE 10.3. Their are others also problems I have had with Linux or UNIX that this took care of. JGZ
Edited by: jgz on Mar 8, 2008 9:13 PM

    Hi,
I had been able to solve the Error 28 issue that in my case was really related to a corrupted boot image:
    1. I went in the path /a/platform/i86pc
    2. rm boot_archive.
    3. sync
    4. reboot
At this point the OS will notice the absence of the boot_image and it will regenerate it.
At the time of this operation the CD with solaris 10 was inserted in the CDROM.
When the system restarted it was able to load the OS properly.
Please use these information at your own risk. I do not accept any liablity.
    Cheers

  • Rich black gray images

I want to create a rich black, CMYK gray image. The colors must blend CMYK to make a nice gray image. It would be nice to apply GCR to remove some of the CMY and reduce the TAC. So far, I am able to make this happen. However, as a result of the GCR, the highlight areas in the photo are made up of mostly CMY. I would like to have the highlight areas made up of mostly black only. So, I want to use GCR in the mid-tone and shadow areas, but I'd like to use mostly black only in the highlight areas. Any thoughts as to how I can make this happen?

You are misunderstanding GCR. CMY in the highlights is not the result of GCR, it is the ABSENCE of GCR in those tones.
GCR is the substitution of blacK for CMY when there are combinations of the color inks in ratios that would simulate neutral gray (generally, equal amounts of C & M, and about 20% of those percentages as Y). The theory being that blacK alone can substitute for the gray that CMY can give. In practice it doesn't quite work out that way, but using black where neutral gray appears in the CMY mix up to about 50 % replacement is a good compromise.
If you are converting from RGB to CMYK, in Color Settings, set the working CMYK space to Custom CMYK, then use GCR and varying amounts of black generation to force more black replacement up into the light values of the image.
If your image is CMYK already, you'll have to do a "manual GCR by using Curves. Or, you could convert back to RGB, then control the conversion as above back to CMYK.
In either case, it's a crap shoot and you'll have to experiment and fine tune with Curves.

  • Change field labels for Absence Notification

    Hi Folks,
I wonder how can I change a standard label for fields in absence notification window of ESS.
For instance, the standard spanish translation for "Absence Type" is "Clase de Vacaciones" and the client want it to be "Tipo de Ausencia".
    How can I achive that?

Thanks Vivek, your answer was very helpful, however that's only to change the application description that goes in ESS overview screen, i want to change the labels that appear within the webdynpro application.
For intance, change the label "Absense Type" by "Type" only.
