AC_RunActiveContent

I wonder why aren´t Firefox enlisted?
var isIE = (navigator.appVersion.indexOf("MSIE") != -1) ?
true : false;
var isWin =
(navigator.appVersion.toLowerCase().indexOf("win") != -1) ? true :
false;
var isOpera = (navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Opera") != -1) ?
true : false;
Can I list them my self, how??
Because I took the <noscripts> away from the list in in
dreamweaver and the pages loaded faster i IE but still slow in
Firefox.. Please Help Me....

Sill can't seem to make this work. Purpose is so that I don't
need to click the Flash To Active Control in IE 7. Simply it just
shows a blank page rather then the small flash in the upper top
left corner as it should.

    Both of the files (js and swf) appear to exist where your code has them.  Does the html page live in the same folder as the swf?

    Do I need to download this java script file and install it on my PC?

    Yes.<br />
    That script is needed to create the embed code for Firefox of two Flash objects.<br />
    If JavaScript disabled then it works with the noscript tag.<br />

  • No 'AC_RunActiveContent.JS' in Flash CS4

    Hey Folks,
    Having same problem as most with Internet Explorer 8.
    Comes up with pop up bar when loading your flash movie. This was remedied in the past when Flash created a file named "AC_RunActiveContent.JS" along with the HTML file after you published your work.
    However since I upgraded to CS4 this file no longer seems to be producing after publishing.
    Any Advice would be hugely appreciated...

    I think you have a better chance to get an answer if you post your question in the Flash forum (this is the Flash Player forum).

  • AC_RunActiveContent.js Giving Off IE 5 signatures in logs

    I'm using a Flash Object on our main homepage (www.usgs.gov)
    that is exported for version 6 and above. It's embedded in the page
    using the code from DW CS3 with the AC_RunActiveContent.js file.
    Yesterday I was going through our logs and found that 35% of our
    visitors were using an IE 5.01 browser. Looking at past monthly log
    files I found the same thing back until the month that we placed
    that Flash object on the page. The previous months before that has
    less than 1% IE 5.01 visits. For some reason, after the
    introduction of the Flash object, we had a huge increase in IE 5
    visits. I can only assume that it has something to do with
    AC_RunActiveContent.js file since the logs are picking up a browser
    signature of IE 5.01.
    Is there something in AC_RunActiveContent.js that would be
    giving this off? Or is it a possibility that there could be a
    "default" browser signature assumed (by the IE 6 or 7 browser, or
    others) of IE 5.01 that automatically gets passed for Flash objects
    for some reason? Is that even possible?
    Has anyone else checked their log files and seen this?

  • Where is the AC_RunActiveContent.js DW creates for you at?

    i believe i can almost get my videos working,[i made some flash videos using insert>media>flv] but out of the 3 things, it found 2, but it cannot find AC_RunActiveContent.js
    so i decided to look for it, but even i can't even find it, so were is it at. i found swfobject_modified and expressInstall in the Scripts folder, but i wasn't in there.
    i was told to move them and changed the paths and it work, but i cannot find AC_RunActiveContent.js so wheres it located?
    http://www.cis.monroeccc.edu/dream10/sarmer/final/freeware/cave_story.html
    thats one of my pages if it helps.

    That page does not make use of the AC_RunActiveContent.js file, so that may be why you can't find it.  The page you linked is using swfobject_modified.js instead...

  • Flash element not automatically starting - do have AC_RunActiveContent.js uploaded

    Hello,
    I’ve got a flash banner that I am trying to use on a page and it isn’t playing automatically all of the time. Note: I do have the AC_RunActiveContent.js uploaded to server. I can preview it in browsers from Dreamweaver... but....
    Once I put it up on the web, it works on one computer in Firefox only, and not Internet Explorer; on another computer it works on Internet Explorer only after I right click on the area it's in and choose Play; and on a third computer it doesn’t work in either browser without choosing play.
    The page can be seen at www.a-d-w.com/RK/Animations the banner is right at the top, and you can right click on it and choose Play and it plays just fine.

  • Is it legal to use AC_RunActiveContent.js at all?

    Hello,
    as everyone knows, when you publish a html inside flash it generates AC_RunActiveContent.js for flash player detection.
    Now, inside the file it says Copyright 2005-2007 Adobe Systems Incorporated.  All rights reserved.
    I'm not an expert in this stuff but Is it even legal to use on a website that i build?
    Won't i get in some trouble when i upload my published flash movie?

    Sure, it's legal - if you're a licensed Flash user, you have the right to use all functionality of the product.  Read the EULA for Flash:  ADOBE PERMITS YOU TO COPY, DOWNLOAD,
    INSTALL, USE, OR OTHERWISE BENEFIT FROM THE FUNCTIONALITY OR INTELLECTUAL
    PROPERTY OF THE SOFTWARE ONLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS
    AGREEMENT.

  • Flash in Dreamweaver site  AC_RunActiveContent.js problem

    I have a site created at www.backtothebasics.net. I have
    Flash banners running at the tops of each page. The home page
    works, as does all of the main category pages (ie Sprouting,
    Gardening, etc). However, when you click further, to an article
    within a category, the Flash banner just shows up as a blank white
    box. Each page has the same code on it-the script call in the head
    "<script src="AC_RunActiveContent.js"
    type="text/javascript"></script>", and then the code
    within the page. The only difference is that the article pages are
    one more level down in the folder structure, so the head code reads
    Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js on the home page, ../Scripts/ on the
    category pages, and then ../../Scripts/ on the newsletter article
    pages. I have tried taking out all AC references, as well as
    putting the js script in the same folder and adjusting the head
    code accordingly, and none of these things seems to work. Any ideas
    on what I need to do to fix this?

    This is the portion in the <head>

  • "Object expected" JavaScript error in IE7/IE8 using AC_RunActiveContent v1.7

    So this is a low-priority but annoying problem I seem to be having on a site with the AC_RunActiveContent embedding script that Flash CS3 automatically generates (v1.7, according to the comments). In IE7 and IE8, I keep getting these alerts when the page first come up:
    Line: 39
    Char: 1
    Error: Object expected
    Code: 0
    URL: etc.
    What's weird is that Line 39 of the file seems to be in the midst of a try-catch thing, so I don't see why that error should even be showing up. Mind you, the site is working fine - the Flash shows up fine - like I said, not high-priority. I'd just like to try and get rid of that error if I can. Anyone else have any idea what's going on here, and how I might be able to fix it?

    Bump. Also, additional details: Yes, I did upload the script to the server. Yes, it's being found and read properly by the browsers, including IE7 and IE8; I've confirmed this using the Developer's Toolbar. So it's not the same problem that everyone who's asked about this before has had; yes, I did dig up those posts via Google before I came here, and yes, I have made sure. So any other thoughts?

  • AC_RunActiveContent.js Problem

    Hello,
    I am new to flash and am trying to publish a small flash
    piece to a website. I am using CS3 Pro and AS2, but I hit publish
    on the presentation (called Index) and use SmartFTP to transfer the
    .js file, the .html, and the .swf file all onto the server, but I
    still receive a warning that "This page requires

    to see if I was missing anything, and all the names seemed to be
    well I have no idea (posted below, sorry if I am not suppost to -
    dont use forums often). If anyone has any suggestions that would be
    great! Thanks - redbaron005

  • Error message "This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js."

    I sometimes get this message “This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js.” I’ve reinstalled the newest version of Flash. What should I try next?
    It’s pretty annoying, I don’t know what I did to create this problem.

    AC_RunActiveContent.js is a javascript that Dreamweaver uses to insert Flash data into a web page. If the owner of the site you are visiting for got to upload this script into his web dir, you will get this error.
    Most of the time it is the website's fault.

  • # of AC_RunActiveContent Needed?

    New to this forum and about to publish and update my site
    from Flash 6 to 9. I realize the process of placing the
    AC_RunActiveContent.js file and scripts that go along with it.
    My question is:
    If I have a <head> section that is used for my entire
    PHP site for all the HTML documents (which all point to this
    <head> section), for all these different HTML pages do I need
    a separate AC_RunActiveContent.js files (multiple files for each
    HTML page to hold the SWFs)? SUch as AC_RunActiveContent1.js,
    AC_RunActiveContent2.js for the SWF's in page HTML1.html and SWF's
    in page HTML2.html etc.
    Or will the one AC_RunActiveContent.js work for the entire
    set of pages if all those pages are looking at that <head>
    section?
    Thanks

    I sure don't mean to make light of what's bothering you, but
    personally, I would not have invested this much effort in
    solving it.
    Instead, I would let DW do whatever it wants and then used
    search and
    replace to change all instances of the script pointer to what
    I want,
    such as <script src="/common/AC_RunActiveContent.js"
    type="text/javascript"></script>

  • Location of AC_RunActiveContent.js

    I'm trying out 8.02 - specifically for the fix of the "Click
    to Activate" problem. DW now creates a nice javascript call to
    AC_FL_RunContent when I click the Insert/Media/Flash menu option,
    but it also creates a new Script directory and puts the js file
    there. I don't want to have a new js file for each directory in my
    web site structure. Is there any way I can tell DW to use a common
    source for the js file (ex.
    http://www.mywebsite.com/common/AC_RunActiveContent.js),
    whenever it inserts new flash content, rather than chaining off the
    current directory?
