Accepted Sendes and Blocked Senders
I am new to the Ironport workd and would like some advice.
I have a C300 and would like to set up a way to have certain addresses that are our business partners not be subject to the content filters that I have created.
I would also like a way to block specific addresses (i.e. "@news.fandango.com") from being processed and delivered.
If someone could lead me in the right diretion. I have read the manual but would like to get some advice from the guru's so I don't end up doing it over and over until I get it right.
Thanks all.
For your business partners, you should create a policy called Business-Partners in your incoming mail policy and have it bypass anti-spam scanning and content filters for emails that match tath policy.
Here's how to do that.
1. Go to "Mail Policies > Incoming Mail Policies"
2. Click on Add new policy. Give it a name like "Business-Partners"
3. Add senders like "@businesspartner.org"
4. Once this new policy is added, go in and Disable Anti-spam and content filter scanning for this new policy only.
To drop mail after the Ironport has accepted the message, here's how to do that.
1. Go to "Mail Policies > Incoming Mail Policies"
2. Click on Add new policy and Order it near the Top. Give it a name like "Drop-Mail".
3. Add Senders like "@news.fandango.com" or "@.fandango.com" or "@mailinglist.com"
4. Then for this new policy, disable antispam and antivirus.
5. Click on Incoming Content filters. Create a content filter called "Automatic-Drop". Leave the conditions blank. For the Action, set it to Drop.
6. Now go back to the Incoming Mail Policy and click on the Content filter for the "Drop-Mail" mail policy and enable the "Automatic-Drop" content filter.
That should do the trick. If possible, you want to separate your mail with incoming mail policies and not create hundred's of content filters.
Let me know if you have any questions or confused about something.
And congratulations on getting a new Ironport appliance. I'm sure you'll like it.

Checking sender and receiver queries after setting up in rsbbs
Hi,
After setting up sender and receiver queries in RSBBS, how can we find out which query is sender and receiver query, If we know any query, can we know whether it is sender or receiver query. then, based on this can we find out sender query if it receiver query and can we find out the receiver query if it is sender query.Hi Venkat,
We have these tables to know the diffenent receiver queries of a sender and different senders for a receiver RSBBSQUERY & RSBBSQUERYDIR.
Thanks,
Sathish. -
On previous iPhones you could go to settings and block the the actual text message from pooping up. Only the sender would show up. On the i4gs the sender and message show up. This is a major flaw as far as privacy. There are no options with in settings to stop this from happening. PLEASE TELL ME IM WRONG ???
YOU ARE WRONG.
Go to Settings > Notifications > Messages. You can turn Notifcation Center off for Messages, or select None for the alert style, and turn Show Preview off, and view in Lock Screen on or off. -
Stop Sending and Receiving Emails for the employee which is no longer exist
Exchange 2007
Hi There,
I have lot's of mailboxes in my exchange server which their users are not with us anymore.
I would like to stop receiving any emails for them.
I know if I go to "Mail Flow Settings\Message Delivery Restrictions\Accept messages from\Only Senders in the Following List" and select a dummy user it works but it sends my server information to the sender. and I do not want to give the
information.
Any idea how to:
Stop sending / Receiving email for these type of users?
OR
Changing the respond message?
Thank you in Advance for your timeYou have a couple options. Removing the mailbox would be the simple solution to stop mail flow, but I am assuming you need the mailbox which is why you have not taken this route.
Alternatively, if you have a message filtering solution in place that sits in front of your Exchange environment, you may be able create a filter to block inbound messages for a specific address so the message never reaches your internal Exchange servers.
This would prevent any information regarding you Exchange servers being returned.
If you do not have a filtering solution to do this, you can create a delivery status notification (DSN) so that a custom response is returned when messages are sent to a mailbox. Refer to this article on creating a DSN:

Error message when blocking senders
For some reason spam has not been getting filtered and has been going into my inbox over the last 3 weeks. I was blocking some of the senders of these emails but i think i have overdone it. When i try to view blocked senders i get a error message "An error occurred while showing your email settings. I get the same message when i use the block button when viewing emails.
Hi guys,
Sorry for the increased amount of spam you're receiving and that you're unable to add any more addresses to your blocked list.
We're going to have to look at each of your issues individually to help sort this out. Click on my username and you'll see the link to send over your details under the section "about me".

Blocked Senders feature in Outlook 2010 does not work
I have a specific blocked sender
[email protected] listed in my Blocked Senders list, but emails from that email
address still go to my Inbox instead of the Junk E-mail folder.
We use Exchange for email, and Outlook 2010 as the client.
Note: this sender is blocked for a specific sender that he configured through Junk E-mail Options in Outlook 2010, and this sender is not blocked at the server level.
I only have one account set up in Outlook.
What do I need to do to get Blocked Senders / Junk E-mail working in Outlook?
Thanks,
ElizabethHi,
From your description, I suggest you try to check the total size of blocked sender list. As total size of all lists combined cannot exceed 512K. Once the 512K limit
is reached, Outlook alerts you and additional addresses aren't saved until you remove some from the list.
If your issue is caused by the limited size, you can add a new registry key value to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem\
Add a new DWORD value of Type Max Extended Rule Size and edit the Value Data, entering the maximum size (in bytes) you want to allow.
If your issue is not related to limited size, try to keep your junk e-mail filter updated. Each version of Microsoft Outlook that contains a junk e-mail filter receives updates to the data
file (outlfltr.dat) as part of the Microsoft-wide monthly update released on the second Tuesday of each month. The updated outlfltr.dat is the result of the evaluation of hundreds of thousands of spam messages and constantly increases the filter “catch”
rate for incoming junk email.
The recommended way to obtain updates to the Outlook Junk E-mail filter is by turning on the Automatic Updates option in the Windows Security Center.
If you have done all above but it still not work, try to create a new outlook profile to test this issue.
Go to Start > Control Panel, click Mail. The title bar of the Mail Setup dialog box contains the name of the current profile. To select a different
existing profile, click Show Profiles, select the profile name, and then click Properties.
Click Show Profiles. Choose Prompt for a profile to be used.
Click Add.
Type a name for the profile, and then click OK.
Start Outlook, and choose this new profile.
Sincerely,
Harry -
I thought I had already posted a question on this subject but I cannot find it so bear with me if I am repeating myself.....here goes
I know how to find my blocked senders list, like I know where it is but it shows empty. I used too send tons of rubbish to BSL, suddenly it is empty. I wish that were all but its not. If I send something to BSL it disappears into the bowels of my Pee Cee.
Nothing finds its way in my BSL UNLESS I type it in manually. Whoever can solve this problem goes straight on my Christmas Card List and could possibly get a Knighthood. ........as a bonusHi:
Thanks for posting your question to us, I will be assisting you with this issue.
Base on your description, we can start from check some points below:
As you mentioned the issue occurred all of a sudden, was there anything changed in your system or Outlook?
Check if the BSL working in OWA
Check if you have any rules set which against BSL
Check if BSL work in safe mode
Check if BSL works when you lunch to outlook with admin privilege
For better understanding your situation, I will also need the information below:
Your Outlook version, is it Outlook 2013 or other version
Your account type, if it’s an Exchange account or other account.
Please help me with information above, so I can give further suggestion on this matter. Thank you for your understanding. -
Outlook Express is adding MY email address to Blocked Senders List
I've been getting a TON of similar spam recently (15-20)/day so I've been adding all their quite similar email addresses to the Blocked Senders List in an attempt to block
some spam. Yesterday I realized that some bcc emails I had sent to myself weren't in my Inbox. I found them in Deleted Items and I then found my email address on my own BSL. I un-blocked it and thought that would end it. Within hours, emails from myself
were again being sent to Deleted Items. I quickly scanned the BSL and didn't find my address there......... What is going on?Hi,
Are you using Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook?
Please note, Outlook Express is a component of IE 6.0 and fewer people use it anymore in the new century:
Microsoft Outlook Express Support
http://support.microsoft.com/ph/2578
If you are using Microsoft Outlook, please let me know your Outlook version and what the account type is. Exchange, IMAP, or POP3?
We may logon the Web mail to send the test email, to determine if it's Outlook Client specific.
If emails sent to yourself on web don't get moved to Deleted Items while emails sent on Outlook Client do, please disable the firewall and virus scanner integration with Outlook, then check the result:
http://www.msoutlook.info/question/20
Please also check if you have any rules that moves your emails to Deleted Items, delete it if there is:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/outlook-help/manage-email-messages-by-using-rules-HA010355682.aspx
We can also check the Junk E-mail Options:
Go to HOME tab -> Junk -> Junk E-mail Options
-> Safe Senders tab, add yourself to the safe sender list, then check the result.
Hope this helps.

Melon Chen

It does NOT work.
Continually I am having to go through the spam box and remove and mark yet again messages that are safe senders though clearly setup as a safe sender.
It simply is not possible to make enough blocked senders by blocking a user. Tomorrow simply brings even more from the same blocked senders. Done it, been there, simply doesnot work.
In all, the mail system is a very huge step BACKWARDS from Yahoo.Hi Cherkhan,
Although we have a number of measures in place to detect and manage spam, we also rely on our customers to tell us what they don't want to receive. We base a sender's reputation on what our customers tell us about the messages they receive.
After moving to BT Mail you may notice some changes to how your email messages are managed. Email messages you would normally expect to see in your Inbox may be missing. You may also receive spam in your Inbox. We're sorry about any problems this causes during this transition period, and suggest you follow the advice below:
If you appear to be missing emails or have not received an email you were expecting, you first need to check the Spam folder. If the email is there, remember you need to mark it as Not Spam. Likewise if you are now receiving email into your Inbox that is Spam, remember you need to mark it as such.
If you have previously marked emails from a particular sender as spam but continue to receive emails from them they should try Blocking the Sender. Advice on how to do this can be found by clicking the Help link within BT Mail.
You can also add senders to their Safe Senders list and this will ensure that emails received from this source are delivered to their Inbox or a folder of their choice. Again advice on how to do this can be found by clicking the Help link within BT Mail.
If you find missing emails in the Spam folder, you can select the Not spam button, or alternatively you can drag and drop the email message back into your Inbox
Further advice can be found at BT Mail: What is spam and how do I stop spam emails?
Thanks
PaddyB

Determine Sender and Receiver in adapter module?
All,
Non-XML messages from different senders are received via the same JMS queue. In the text payload, the ID of the sender and receiver is contained.
Would it be technically possible to develop a JMS adapter module that sets the Sender Party, Sender Service, Receiver Party and Receiver Service based on the content of the message payload? Is it possible to influence sender and receiver in an adapter module?
Kind regards, Guy CretsHi Steven,
It seems like you can not convince XI to pick up a new message. The code below works when you use "inputModuleData.setPrincipalData(msg);" but not with "inputModuleData.setPrincipalData(msgnew);".
The error in the Runtime Workbench is: "Catching exception calling messaging system' found, cause: javax.transaction.InvalidTransactionException: Cannot invoke call from within a transactional context.".
I tried to set the RefToMessageId on the new message, but this does not work either.
Does anybody know why the InvalidTransactionException is thrown?
Here is the example code:
public ModuleData process(ModuleContext moduleContext, ModuleData inputModuleData) throws ModuleException
try {
Message msg = (Message) inputModuleData.getPrincipalData();
Context ctx = new InitialContext();
ConnectionFactory cf = (ConnectionFactory) ctx.lookup(
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.ConnectionFactory.JNDI_NAME);
MessageFactory factory = cf.createMessageFactory("XI");
Message msgnew = factory.createMessage(
msg.getFromParty(),msg.getToParty(),
msg.getFromService(),msg.getToService(), msg.getAction());
msgnew.setConversationId(msg.getConversationId());
msgnew.setDocument(msg.getDocument());
inputModuleData.setPrincipalData(msgnew);
catch (Throwable t)
ModuleException me = new ModuleException("MyException");
throw me;
return inputModuleData;
