Access ABAP tables using NWDS Java Code

All,
I am planning to write a program to autmatically update is_url entries in sxmb_admin using a Java program.
Is there a way we can access the ABAP tables using standalone Java Code? would it something like dblookup that we use in the mappings?
Your Thoughts....
Thanks.

Hi Vicky - Interesting..Seems like you are trying to automate every single thing
However you can make use of Jco to connect to ABAP tables..
Check the below thread..
Help on accessing tables of SAP from the Java Application
I assume the table name is "SXMSCONFVLV" which you might have to update but not sure..

  • Access ABAP table in Webdynpro Java application

    Hi All
    Is it possible to access ABAP table in Webdynpro Java application
    Please provide your input
    Thanks
    Karthi D.

    Hi you will connect to the remote SAP system, the
    backend, using an Adaptive RFC MOdel. To access database tables, you can make use of existing functions in terms of RFC function modules. For each function module you need, the system generates a corresponding Java proxy class. All the generated proxy classes and interface are bundled together in the RFC model and treated as part
    of your Web Dynpro project
    In WebDynpro java you RFC by using Model :
    Adaptive RFC Model
    1. automatically adapts to changes in function module signature
    2 provides support for data types and extensibility
    3.support for different structure definitions in different backend
    systems (release dependent structures, custom adaptation)
    Basic principles and guidelines

  • Access ABAP Table using Java (NWDS/JCO)

    All,
    I am trying to setup a jco connection from java program through NWDS to ECC abap table.
    However I am getting the following error in NWDS:

    Hi Vicky,
    You need authorization to the S_TABU_DIS object, talk with the ABAP basis team about this to find the more restrictive role.
    It's not a good idea to use the RFC_READ_TABLE, for the wide permissions needed. You could think to develop a Z RFC for this.  You can check pros/cons in this document: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a83ec690-0201-0010-14ac-bd1d75e24a7d?overridelayout=t…

  • Can we access PI tables from WebDynpro Java via PI 7.1?

    Hi Experts
    Is it possible to fetch PI Tables (to display monitoring and alerts as dashboard on portal) from Java Stack. I got some javadocs API SAP Netweaver for PI 7.1 but i don't know how far it can help me in solving my purpose of fetching and displaying the PI monitoring data on Portal.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/javadocs
    Please advise if J2EE access to PI Tables is possible or RFC is the suggested solution to fetch PI Monitoring data.
    Thanks
    Neha

    Hi Neha,
    You can access PI tables from Webdynpro Java application using RFC or Webservices. Create RFC or Webservices which will fetch data from the PI tables.Create the required JCO's and the Webdynpro java application which uses the Adaptive RFC model or Adaptive Webservice Model to connect to the ECC system.
    I found a document that speaks about fetching data from SXMB_MONI Standard Table https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b050ff4f-84c3-2b10-3d99-8f9c44f57a17
    Hope this is useful.

  • How can one  read a Excel File and Upload into Table using Pl/SQL Code.

    How can one read a Excel File and Upload into Table using Pl/SQL Code.
    1. Excel File is on My PC.
    2. And I want to write a Stored Procedure or Package to do that.
    3. DataBase is on Other Server. Client-Server Environment.
    4. I am Using Toad or PlSql developer tool.

    If you would like to create a package/procedure in order to solve this problem consider using the UTL_FILE in built package, here are a few steps to get you going:
    1. Get your DBA to create directory object in oracle using the following command:
    create directory TEST_DIR as ‘directory_path’;
    Note: This directory is on the server.
    2. Grant read,write on directory directory_object_name to username;
    You can find out the directory_object_name value from dba_directories view if you are using the system user account.
    3. Logon as the user as mentioned above.
    Sample code read plain text file code, you can modify this code to suit your need (i.e. read a csv file)
    function getData(p_filename in varchar2,
    p_filepath in varchar2
    ) RETURN VARCHAR2 is
    input_file utl_file.file_type;
    --declare a buffer to read text data
    input_buffer varchar2(4000);
    begin
    --using the UTL_FILE in built package
    input_file := utl_file.fopen(p_filepath, p_filename, 'R');
    utl_file.get_line(input_file, input_buffer);
    --debug
    --dbms_output.put_line(input_buffer);
    utl_file.fclose(input_file);
    --return data
    return input_buffer;
    end;
    Hope this helps.

  • Use of Java Code within the generated XML Forms Stylesheets

    Hello,
    is the use of Java-Code possible with the XSL-Files generated by XML-Forms, as possible in standard XSLs? I know that this would mean a modification.
    kind regards,
    Marco

    Hi Marco,
    I "executed" some java code within XSLs file. I have quoted the word executed because I didn't really run java code, but I used a simply trick that I describe you below.
    Into your XSLs put an iframe which is hided (it has an height of 0 pixel). As src of the iframe put the address of a portal component which execute your code (in my case calculate some PCD URL of some pages into a defined role). As result of component execution, I use the response.write method in order to execute some jscript code, which is able to interact with the HTML generated by XSLs files, for example in my case response.write put the PCD URL into a drop down list placed into the "edit" form.
    This works fine. I don't know if is suitable also for your case, anyway could be a hint, but pay attention to Roland's recommendations.
    Ciao

  • Can u access Oracle9i Reports objects from Java Code?

    Hi,
    How can you access Oracle9i Reports (Rel 2) objects like Body, DataSource, Groups etc from Java Code?
    What are the available APIs?
    I went thru the APIs at http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/docs/Javadocs/oracle/reports/plugin/definition/package-summary.html
    However various constructors stated in these APIs are using classes from "oracle.reports.definition" package which are difficult for me to locate.
    For eg. Report constructor is using oracle.reports.definition.RWReport and there is no API documentation available for RWReport class.
    Please suggest me the site for the above APIs or the method to get a reference to "Report" instance.
    Thanks
    Rakesh.

    Thanks Tugdual for your quick reply.
    Thats exactly what I am trying to do. I want to develop a utility which can have a subset of Report Developer's functionality.
    Currently using Reports Developer & Report Wizard, I can create a report by providing SQL statement and few parameters (like Report Style, Calculated Fields, Template file etc). I want to put all these parameters in a XML file and run my java utility (based on the APIs which I am looking for) which will use these XML parameter file and generate a '.rdf' file.
    Also, could you please suggest me the site for oracle.reports.definition package API or the way to get a reference to oracle.reports.plugin.definition.Report instance.
    Thanks,
    Rakesh
