Hi Marco,
I "executed" some java code within XSLs file. I have quoted the word executed because I didn't really run java code, but I used a simply trick that I describe you below.
Into your XSLs put an iframe which is hided (it has an height of 0 pixel). As src of the iframe put the address of a portal component which execute your code (in my case calculate some PCD URL of some pages into a defined role). As result of component execution, I use the response.write method in order to execute some jscript code, which is able to interact with the HTML generated by XSLs files, for example in my case response.write put the PCD URL into a drop down list placed into the "edit" form.
This works fine. I don't know if is suitable also for your case, anyway could be a hint, but pay attention to Roland's recommendations.
Ciao

    Hi,
        How to use Java code inside WebDynpro-ABAP.
    Could any one provide sample code.
    Cheers,

    Hi Sam,
    We can't Bring Java Inside the ABAP. Both are running in different Environments.
    and also ABAP Codes are runs on BASIS.
    -Basis is a middleware between ABAP codes and Ur OS.
    -Contains set of programs to load,RUN,intepret the ABAP program..
    So Both are Different.

  • Can i write java code in JavaScript function

    I want to call JavaBeans within JavaScript function. Can I do it?
    I have a button in JSP . When the button be clicked,the data be inputted will be checked by JavaScript function. If check is ok, then call a Bean's function to write the data to database.
    Please Help!

    well indeed u can write java code in javascript functions. But probably it will not work the way u want it to.
    when u say that u click a button, it means that some client side action is performed. Now if u wud require a java bean to be called then it means that the server needs to be contacted for the same, and if that has to be done, necessarily the form needs to be submitted.
    U can populate values from a java bean and then the same can be made available to a javascript variable / function when the page is loaded rather than, when the button is clicked.
    What u can do is on click of button u can process [display / calulate..etc ] the information which has already been got by the java bean.

  • Opening a new Broswer Window using Java code inside JSP

    Dear Fellow Java Developers:
    I have written a JSP that presents information about a particular item. I want to give an option to the customer to click on the picture of the item to get a larger view. However, I don't want the browser window that opens to have the usual buttons and menubar at the top like a typical browser window, I just want it to be a window with a large image of the item. A good example of this is on the following website:
    http://www.eddiebauer.com/eb/product.asp?product_id=24701&nv=2|21472|9|32&lview=&cm_cg=&tid=&c=&sc=&lp=w1i005
    Click on the picture of the shirt on this page and you'll see what I am talking about. How is this accomplished using a Java scriplet? I have checked the source code for the above site, as well as others, and they all achieve this using JavaScript. Is there a way of accomplishing this using pure Java and/or HTML?
    Just wondering.
    Thanks in advance to everyone that replies.
    Sincerely;
    Fayyaz

    you seem to miss the client/server side setup. Your java is executing on the SERVER and it processes a request which in turn sends pure HTML and javascript to the client. What you want to do has to be done on the CLIENT, so JavaScript is the only option.

  • Calling Java code inside JSP page and sending toString on object to Servlet

    Hi.
    I am trying to setup a way to make testing my application easier. Using a web-based method will work best. Here is what I am trying to accomplish:
    - Have a web page that will prompt the user to enter data, fill in text fields, make choices, etc. When done, they press the Submit button. I don't need to keep info between sessions. Just open browser, execute, view results, close browser, repeat.
    - I then want to take this data and use some Java Classes I have to create a Java object.
    - I then want to send the toString() results of this Java object to a known Java servlet. The result of the servlet's actions should be displayed as a response on the screen.
    This is what I currently have (Ignore the
    's - I don't know why they are showing up - its not important):
    Web page:
    <html>
    <head><title>TestGroup</title></head>
    <body>
    <form name=f method=post action=http://localhost:100/Servlet>
    Name: <br>
    Group: <input name=group type=text><br>
    <br>
    <input type=submit value=Submit>
    <input type=reset value=Reset>
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>The Java code in the JSP (where to put it?):
    <%
    Group g = new Group();
    g.setGroupName(request.getParameter("group"));
    String output = g.toString(); // I want this to go to the Servlet.
    %>But, now I am stuck as to how to piece these together. I have some JSP experience, but not quite like this.
    As I said, when the user presses the Submit button, I want to perform the Java code above, and have the results of the toString method sent to the Servlet, plus clear all other parameters (so they are not sent to the servlet).
    Does anyone have any advice/comments? I am open to alternative designs too, this is just the simplest one I could think of. If another JSP page is needed, that's fine too.
    Thanks.

  • How to embid java code in JavaScript

    Hi!!
    I am writing JSP program.
    Do u know how to embid java code in javascirpt
    ex:
    <SCRIPT>
    alert("hello");
    <%
    System.out.println("Hello...Satish. ");
    %>
    </SCRIPT>
    This alert message is not comming when i add the java code.

    Do u know how to embid java code in javascirptYou can't.
    Java/JSP code runs, and produces a web page. At this point any html/javascript is treated just as "text" to output.
    That web page is then sent to the browser which runs javascript.
    All java code has been run/removed - maybe generating HTML in its place.
    The only way to call java code again is to submit an HTTP request - normally by clicking a link/submitting a form.

  • Setting bpel variable using external java code

    Hi all
    I would like to ask if there is a way to set bpel process variable during process execution from external java code using java api without using java embedding code?!!
    Thnx in advance

    Hi, I wanna to know if it is possible at all to edit/update value of variables in a process instance via external java code?
    In fact I don't believe that we can set a variable remotely using java APIs.Am I right?
    For example,is it possible to change the value of a field in the user task form(that is sent to a user to fill and complete the task)?

    And the question is how can i rename a jar file using java code? As it says in the title. Read.I would tell you to use the File.renameTo method, but surely that would have been obvious, and you would have tried it already? But maybe you didn't. You were kind of lacking in details in what you tried.
    And yes, I am a genius. Just don't confuse "genius" with "mind-reader".

  • Problems using the Java API inside a Web Service

    Hi,
    after I've built a standalone Java RMI client, using the API, I wanted to use the same code in a Web Service I've built and deployed in tomcat (jwsdp-1.3). But i ran into a few problems..
    - although I have the exact same code in both programs, the one in the web service simply blocks when I initiate the Locator class (see above...);
    - all the .jar's that I use in the client are deployed in the WEB-IF/lib of the web service directory on tomcat;
    - no exceptions are thrown in tomcat, so i don't know what's going on;
    Is there any specific configuration for the API to run on tomcat?
    Could it be that the .jar's needed by the Locator class may have some kind of conflict with the ones in tomcat?
    Thanks...
    Note: The code on the client is totaly stable and fully operational.
    The web service uses java.rmi.Remote (extends Remote).
    Here's part of the code:
    Properties env = new Properties();
    env.setProperty("orabpel.platform", "oc4j_10g");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.factory.initial","com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.provider.url","ormi://dellpc05/orabpel");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.security.principal","admin");
    env.setProperty("java.naming.security.credentials","welcome");
    Locator locator = new Locator("default", "bpel", env);
    IDeliveryService deliveryService = (IDeliveryService)locator.lookupService(IDeliveryService.SERVICE_NAME );
    (...)

    I've put a
    try{Locator...}
    }catch(Throwable t) {
    System.out.println(t.getMessage());
    t.printStackTrace();
    around the Locator..
    I still don't know why it's throwing this...
    Here's what it gets:
