Access application hosted on a different machine.

Hi,
I've written a simple web application to select an excel file through a jsp and write it's contents to text file. I select the execl file by browsing through the folders in my system. when i submit the form giving the location of the text file to which this excel file contents have to be written i'm getting the expected result. This application is hosted in Tomcat in my system. But when i tried accessing the application from another system my application is unable to find the excel file path selected in that machine. So i'm getting FileNotFoundException. Please suggest a solution.
Thanks,
Sudha

Hi,
I know that an application is hosted on a particular system. That application's job is to take the excel file selected by me and create a text file out of that. But as that application is hosted in a different machine it is unable to find the path i select. My doubt is like is it possible to have an application like this with actual source code and server on one system and user accessing from a different system and still able to find the path of the excel file the user is selecting?
Thanks,
Sudha

  • Issue in accessing service hosted on a different network

    We have a wsdl hosted on ebiz apps server which is accessed from one of our bpel processes which run on a soa server. Now both these servers (ebiz apps and soa) are on a different network, so I need to give IP address of my ebiz apps server while deploying bpel on soa server. This works fine and bpel on soa server is able to access my wsdl on ebiz apps server. (e.g. instead of ap6039fems:7785, I give 144.20.199.84:7785)
    Now, my ebiz wsdl in turn imports some xsds using the ebiz server host name; these I cannot replace with IP address since I cannot modify the ebiz wsdl contents. This leads to issues during deployment on soa server since the compiler on soa server cannot access the xsds hosted on ebiz server. Do you know of any way to overcome this network issue, any dns entry would help ! Could you please share your experiences if any or point to someone.I

    I have checked IP,DNS,Gateway and more each & everything is well.
    Pls suggest us.

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the same shared folder can be accessed by name, but can’t be accessed be IP address and asks for credentials.
    Please try to enable the option below on the device which has shared folder:
    Besides, check the Advanced Shring settings of shared folder and confrim that if there is any limitation settings.
    Best Regards,

    I recently upgraded to iWork v9.0.3, but when I access each applications the versions are different (i.e. Pages V.4.1, Numbers V2.6, Keynote V5.1.1) with a install date of 3/18/09 -- which is not the current install date of 2 weeks ago. Shouldn't Pages, Numbers, and Keynote show version 9.?? My MAC confirned installation of v9.0.3 and even accepted the software code. With this discrepancy, how can I determine if the latest was installed and operational? I even downloading v9.0.4, 9.0.5, and 9.1. When I tried installing these downloads it popped up note stating that a later version of Keynote was already installed.

    You used the data.  Verizon can not see what it was sued for.  However your phone can see whats apps used the data.  go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle.  line the dates up with your cycle.  then there will be a bar graph below that   extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right.  after those are extended below that will be a list of apps,  there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

    I have a lion server set up to host storage for time machine backups. Is there a limit to how many different computers can back up to the single server to back up. I am only backing up the users folders . The backup drive is an external Drobo with 6 TB. Right now it seems to back up my users all day long. I set their time machine interval to every 5 hours but it still runs all day long and is very slow. Server is on a new Mac Server mini.

    AFAIK, there is no user limit.. it is simply a question of the network load. AFP is a fairly clean protocol.. but TM is not.. it does a lot of testing of the backup.. infact your setting of 5hour gap could well make it worse.
    I would sort out the clients that are doing 100GB backups to a different backup location.. no matter how fast your network.. 100GB takes time to backup.. and over wireless forever.. it will never end.
    I guess some of these clients are on wireless?? I would separate the TM of wireless to those that are wired. No more than 4 or 5 wireless clients to a target device. Otherwise you are saturating your network with backup data. And use 5ghz.. so close by.. it is much faster than 2.4ghz and you will get much better transfer rates.

    Steven is correct, you never can go back to an earlier version with Adobe Premiere with the project file.  If your preceding version was CC you might try the trial version of CC 2014, but remember that once you enter the trial version cycle you never can go back.
    There was a way to hack the project file on the CS versions but that disappeared with CC.

    public class HelloApplet extends Applet {
    String message = "blank";
    // "obj" is the identifier that we'll use to refer
    // to the remote object that implements the "Hello"
    // interface
    Hello obj = null;
    public void init() {
         try {

         e.printStackTrace();
    public void paint(Graphics g) {
         g.drawString(message, 25, 50);
    The helloclient.html code:
    <HTML>
    <title>Hello World</title>
    <center> <h1>Hello World</h1> </center>
    The message from the HelloServer is:
    <p>
    <applet
              code="examples.hello.HelloApplet"
    width=500 height=120>
    </applet>
    </HTML>

    Your problem is at the following line.
    obj = (Hello)Naming.lookup("//Neind-ws-003/HelloServer");
    The line you had commented beforehand is
    //obj = (Hello)Naming.lookup("//" +
    // getCodeBase().getHost() + "/HelloServer");
    This worked because the applet was being retreived from the same server where the RMI server exists.
    Remember, applets can only connect themselfs to the same host they are stored in and retreived from. This is because of VM, the sandbox does not allow you to connect to other machines other than the server where it resides on. If you use a applet viewer it might work if you loosen the security features. On a browser i do not belive it can be done. Maybe if you modify your security options for the VM you are able to achieve something, but personally i'm going for the "It cannot be done " answer because of what I said before.
    Hope this helps
    If any trouble then reply and I'll answer later.

  • Unable to access remote EJB object on different server

    I have deployed an EJB module on one server. I have been able to access the entity beans on this server from a standalone java client (on a different machine) using the CORBA Interopable Naming Syntax. Using this syntax
    corbaname:iiop:<hostname>:port#<jndi-name>
    However, when I deploy another EJB module on a separate server I am unable to access the objects held on the original server. I am using the same syntax as the java client.
    We are using Sun Application Server to deploy the modules. The error held in the server log is below. Can someone help with this. Does the Sun Application Server prevent connection to remote objects by default?

    login_directory = /Users/yourname
    If the Library folder is not shown in your login directory, then open a Finder window, and press command+J. This will open a Finder View Options panel. On it, there is a selectable entry to Show Library Folder. Once this is selected, the Library folder will appear. Now, follow the instructions in my May 6 post. You will have to right-click on com.apple.iWork.Pages and choose Show Package Contents, before continuing.
    Correction: login_directory/Library/Containers/com.apple.iWork.Pages/Data/Library/Applicatio n Support/User Templates/
    The host software persists in changing the correct Application Support text above to Applicatio n Support, which does not exist.

  • Client in a different machine..

    Hi,
    I ve a problem with JMS. I am developing a JMS Application with WebSphere and MQ Series.
    The application runs fine if i have the both the publisher and subscriber in the same machine.
    Now i want to move the client to a different machine say X. To do that should the machine 'x' need to have WebSphere environment because i'm using WebSphere for JNDI.
    If the machine doesnot have the WebSphere environment is it possible to achieve.
    If yes how to do that..
    Thanks
    MeenaO

    I think the jndi service can be accessed froma remote m/c, you can initialize the context with the appropriate paramters, so the lookups on the topic and connection factories and continue with your work.

  • Jnlp does not load on  different machine: Please help

    Hi
    I have a machine x where I've installed and am running tomcat 4.1.24 server. I installed my war file with the jnlp in the right directory and my jnlp loads and works fine on machine x.
    However when I try to lanch jnlp from different machine say Y ( I have webstart installed here too) .. via my broswer ...it launches webstart but gives a
    download error - connection refused error. cannot download jnlp.
    I tried adding the mime type to the web.xml of my application too.
    Here is my jnlp
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="http://localhost:8080/fileviewer" href="index.jnlp">
    <information>
    <title>File Viewer</title>
    <vendor>IBM developerWorks</vendor>
    <homepage href="index.html"/>
    <description>File Viewer</description>
    <description kind="short">File Viewer</description>
    </information>
    <security>
    <all-permissions/>
    </security>
    <resources>
    <j2se version="1.4"/>
    <jar href="fileviewer.jar"/>
    <nativelib href="swt-lib.jar"/>
    </resources>
    <resources os="Windows">
         <jar href="swt-win32.jar"/>
    </resources>
    <resources os="Linux">
         <jar href="swt-linux.jar"/>
         <jar href="swt-pi.jar"/>
    </resources>
    <application-desc main-class="org.eclipse.swt.examples.fileviewer.FileViewer"/>
    </jnlp>

    People...dont bother I fixed the problem
    I just had to change the localhost to point to my host name instead in the jnlp.

  • Answers - date format on different machines

    Hi all.
    On a machine where OBISE is installed in answers for one date i clicked "save as the system-wide default for this data type. Since then, all dates when i access OBI from that machine are in that format.
    When I access it from another machine I have to "save as the system-wide default for this data type" again.
    I want to know:
    1) Where is the configuration saved for every machine?
    2) How to configure that every machine that uses OBI have the sam default date format? (example: if I have 1000 users that they all don't have to make their default format.)
    Thank you.

    I'm not sure you understood me well. I have OBI just on one machine and catalog is, naturally, also on that machine. When I open application from browser on other machine I get different format, and for every machine is diiferent. It is strange behavior, if you ask me. I want to configure OBi, so that, nevermind which machine I'm phisically on, I have same dates.
    So, the real question is how OBI knows from which machine I'm coming and where it is saved. It isn't in metada.
    Another question, not related with this is, where is the 1000's separator option saved, because it also isn't in metadata, where decimal separator and places is.

  • Is it possible to access a database on a different  server?

    Hi Folks
    Forgive me if this has been asked already. We are in the
    process of moving one of our sites to a new server. It will reside
    there alone. I have several Access databases that are shared
    between two different websites. Now these sites will reside on two
    different servers. Is there any way to access one Access database
    that resides on one server from another server? The good part is
    the second sever will be using the data for read-only outputs.
    Thanks in advance for any help you can priocdie.
    John

    MS Access is not really intended for networking in this
    manner, and I would imagine that you would have problems with
    locking contention at the very least with two CF servers vying for
    access. Also, another major problem with attempting to set up an
    Access DSN where the ColdFusion server is on a different machine
    from the Access database is file permission. Normally, ColdFusion
    is setup on its server under an administrator account, so if you
    attempt to connect to an Access database on another server over a
    mapped network drive, the admin account on your CF server usually
    does not have the appropriate privileges on the machine hosting the
    Access database. This usually requires you to install CF under a
    user account that has privileges on both machines. (There have been
    tech notes on this subject in the past.)
    Bottom line, not a good idea at all. I would seriously
    consider migrating to anything but Access for these and many other
    reasons, the least of which is that Access is usually not suitable
    for anything but a development or prototype environment.
