Access Connections Problem / AVG Problem connected

I have been having a problem with Access Connections (henceforth AC) connecting to an Apple Router that supports 802.11 b/g/n.  It would take many many many attempts and after about 5 to 15 minutes of retrying - I'd finally connect.
And I had a second problem with AVG.  AVG is the antivirus program I'm using. It's resident shield (avgrsx.exe) would take all of one of my processors on my SL500 laptop running Vista Home Premium.  It wasn't clear to be that this problem was connected with the first - but stay tuned.
I had updated to the latest version of AC and saw no relief.  So I thought perhaps I'd uninstall it and start fresh - with a reinstall.  So I did the uninstall - keeping the profiles that I had defined.  But before I did the re-install, I thought I'd try it 'as is' and see what happened.
What happened is that my system booted and connected to the Apple Router immediately.  And, where AVG's resident shield was running flat out before - now it was hardly running at all.  My conclusion:  1) AC has some serious problems, especially when combined with AVG. 2) It's not clear to me why we need AC at all, at least for 802.11.  The base Vista and Intel programs seem to be doing a good job for 802.11.  I cant say for Wireless WAN or WiMax, I'm not using either.
Now this part if just speculation, but I'll offer it in case the owner of AC sees this.  It may provide a clue to what's ailing AC and s/he can fix it.  The clue is the problem with AVG.  The component with the problem was avgrsx - the resident shield.  That's the component that scans an exe file as it comes form the disk into memory.  That AVG was pegged (100% on one processor) indicates that something was fetching a lot of things from disk over and over again - that the problem went away when I uninstalled AC points the finger to AC at the problem.
In support of this, with AC installed, after it had made the connection to the Apple router, I would see CPU utilization spikes at regular intervals (somewhere around 1 sec, i think, plus or minus quite a bit) even after the connection was made.  These too went away when I uninstalled AC.
Sooo.....
After this, I decided to not reinstall AC and just stick with the Vista/Intel approaches for my wireless.  At least that's where it is for now.
Brassie

I recently experienced the same problem using a current (2009/11) version of Access Connections and a Linksys router, plus AVG 8.5. Access Connections was extremely slow to start and there were regular (every second or 2) bursts of 100% cpu activity in 'avgrsx.exe'.
  I have opened incidents with both AVG and Lenovo concerning this but am not confident of a resolution being provided. However, in the meantime I have found a bypass I'd like to document for others to reference. It opens a small security hole though, so be aware.
  AVG's Resident Shield can be configured with 'exceptions' to its scanning range. If the directory containing the Access Connections executables (which I will not explicitly name in an Internet posting) is added to the exception path list, the CPU bursts cease.
  If additional information becomes available through my vendor incidents I will post that as well.

  • Problem with JCo Connection Pool

    Hi,
    I have a problem with using an RFC Model in my WebApplication. So sometimes the access to the function block works, and sometimes it doesn't work. Now I know, that there is a problem with the connection pool. Look at this message:
    com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (106) JCO_ERROR_RESOURCE: Connection pool WD_X24_MODELDATA_DEST_CPIC_REKTO_DE_useDefinedUser is exhausted. The current pool size limit (max connections) is 10 connections.
    So it looks like a problem with closing the JCo Connections after using. Do know where the problem is? Because I'm using many other function blocks with no problems.

    Hello,
    You need to increase the pool size via Visual Administrator.
    Server 0 -> Services -> JCO RFC Connections.
    Change the pool size from there. I believe a restart is in order.

  • Problems with SSH: Connection Refused

    Greetings fellow Arch users,
    I have hit a bit of a snag that I could really use some extra help getting around. I've tried everything I can think of (and everything that Google thought might work) and I have my back rather against a wall, so I thought I'd come here to see if anyone can offer some advice.
    To make a long story short, I am a college student and am attempting to set up an ssh server on a desktop at my house so I can access it remotely from the college. I have the computer set up and the server running, however I am having difficulty making connections to it from my laptop. I know that the server is running, because I can log into it both from the server itself (sshing into local host) and from my laptop when I use the internal IP address.
    The server is on a static IP address within the network(192.168.0.75), and my router is configured to forward TCP port 1500 to it (I'm using 1500 as the port for my ssh server). However, when I attempt to log into the ssh server using my network's external IP address, the connection is refused. I used nmap to scan my network and found that, even though the proper ports are forwarded to the proper place as far as my Router's configuration interface is concerned, port 1500 is not listed as one of the open TCP ports. I also, to test it, temporarily disabled the firewalls on both the server and the client. That didn't help. The command that I am running is:
    ssh -p 1500 douglas@[external ip address
    As I am really not sure what is causing this problem, I don't know what information to provide. So here is everything that my inexperienced mind sees as likely being important. If you need anything more, let me know and I will do my best to provide it.

    Okay, so I finally have the opportunity to try and log in from a remote network. And. . .  it doesn't work. Which is just my luck because I now need to wait an entire week, at least, before I can touch the server again. Anyway, running ssh with the maximum verbosity I get this output:
    douglas ~ $ ssh -vvv -p 2000 address
    OpenSSH_6.3, OpenSSL 1.0.1e 11 Feb 2013
    debug1: Reading configuration data /home/douglas/.ssh/config
    debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config

    debug1: Connecting to address [address] port 2000.
    debug1: connect to address address port 2000: Connection timed out
    ssh: connect to host address port 2000: Connection timed out
    It takes a minute or two for the command to finish with the connection timeout, as one would expect. And yes, I am reasonably sure that the address that I am using is my home network's external IP. It is dynamic, but I checked it before I left which was just over an hour ago. I guess that it may have changed. I'll know that for sure in the morning, when my server sends me an automatic email with the network's current address. In the meantime I am operating under the assumption that the address I am using is correct. What else could be the problem?

  • Not the average problem with wireless connection. Please help me..

    I've been having wireless connection problems ever since I upgraded to Verizon FiOS from Verizon Wireless. Before upgrading to Verizon FiOS in the fall of 2012, my brother's laptop connected just fine with the connection. After upgrading to Verizon FiOS, my brother's laptop could not connect to the internet. It showed the wireless connection signal as Excellent, but I could not access the internet. Either it would be extremely slow or there would be no connection at all. Also, the router would sometimes restart itself randomly, and it was extremely annoying for me since I am hardwired with my desktop.
    This was weird because my iPod Touch connected perfectly fine to the wifi. So I thought it must be the laptop. But I brought the laptop over to my cousin's house, who also happens to have Verizon FiOS, and the laptop connected perfectly fine. I called Verizon and none of the technicians knew what the problem was. We tried disabling and enabling the router, changing the channels, and anything that was on the list. They couldn't help me and I was extremely disappointed because not only am I not accessing the internet with my brother's laptop, but I am also paying for the service too. The last technician I called in 2012 decided to send me a new router. I hoped this would work, but it did not. This router, too, would completely reset itself numerous times before settling down and letting me use the internet.
    I gave up after that. But in the spring of 2013, I got really fed up with the service I was receiving and I decided to call Verizon again. Again, Verizon tried to help me fix the laptop with their tools and solution guides. But nothing good came out of it, so I decided to ask for a technician to come to my apartment to fix it. We scheduled a day and I was pretty excited since I was almost positive that the connection for the laptop would be fine by then.
    I was wrong. The technician came and only stayed for about 20 minutes. He said it must be the laptop or it must be that the walls are too thick in my apartment. But that can't be it since, in my cousin's house, the router is on the second floor and my brother was using his laptop on the first floor. So it couldn't be the laptop nor the house. So we came to no conclusion. He just attached a mini router to the laptop and hardwired it. I wasn't so content but I was glad my brother could finally use the internet now.
    About three months pass by and I decide to get myself a new laptop. I get it and I am hoping the wireless connection works. It did, so I was almost positive that it was my brother's laptop that was the problem, not the wireless signal. I go on vacation for a few days and I connect perfectly fine at my friend's house. When I return home and try to connect to my wireless connection, it didn't work!
    At this point, I am extremely frustrated. I decided to call Verizon again to replace my router because it was being extremely annoying. It kept resetting itself and I was tired of it. I replaced the router, and this is the router I currently have, but I STILL have the same problem. It resets itself on its own time and I hate it because I'm always in the middle of something. Wow, just wow. There is nothing they could do to help me fix this. I call up a technician, for the millionth time, and he tells me he can't access my router. This occurred with the previous technician who sent me the new router. He tells me his tools are not working and tells me he'll call me back the next day.
    It was the next day and I did not receive any phone call. I am extremely disappointed in Verizon FiOS' service and it's customer service. I leave it alone and I just hardwire my laptop to the router. Of course this works, but what's the point of having a laptop when I have to keep it hardwired on my desk? After a day or two, I decide to check if the wireless connection works, and it did. I was surprised. But every now and then, it would shift on and off. Most of the time, the wireless connection is either EXREMELY SLOW or I get none at all, nonetheless, it still says the connection is Excellent.
    Please, if there is anyone who could help or try to help me, I would most appreciate it. If there is more information that you need, ask me and I will try my best to provide it to you.

    Admittedly, that IS a strange case. Unfortunately, it sounds like all possible troubleshooting has been done by the tech support agents. you mentioned that you were dissatisfied with your other service, did it have a similar problem? theres a possibility of dirty fiber or a bad ONT port, but the random rebooting of the router would almost exclusively be a bad router. question: is the router in the same location as before?

  • I suppose it is the problem with socket connection,Please help

    Hi,
    I'm trying to build a chat server in Java on Linux OS.I've created basically 2 classes in the client program.The first one shows the login window.When we enter the Login ID & password & click on the ok button,the data is sent to the server for verification.If the login is true,the second class is invoked,which displays the messenger window.This class again access the server
    for collecting the IDs of the online persons.But this statement which reads from the server causes an exception in the program.If we invoke the second class independently(ie not from 1st class) then there is no problem & the required data is read from the server.Can anyone please help me in getting this program right.I'm working on a p4 machine with JDK1.4.

    You're connecting to the server twice. After you've successfully logged in, pass the Socket to the Messenger class.
    public class Messenger {
        Socket connect;
        public static void main(String args[]) {
            Messenger mes = new Messenger(args[0]);
        Messenger(Socket s, String strg) {
            this.connect = s;
            CreateWindow();
            setupEvents();
            LoginData(strg);
            fram.show();
    }

  • Problem with macbook connecting to wireless: help please

    thanks for reading this thread.
    i have a linksys WRT54G2 router connected straight from the ethernet port of a cable internet connection. it's been working fine for the past month or two for both me (using macbook 10.5.6), my flatmate (running vista pc) and my girlfriend also running a macbook.
    but, the last few days i've been having problems getting connected. which are:
    not connecting to wireless network automatically, and asking for password which is already remembered in keychain
    getting connection timeout when trying to connect
    getting invalid password, even though password is correct
    websites taking around 2 mins to load when connection is eventually made
    the internet is working fine on both my flatmates and girlfriends computers, but jut doesn't seem to like mine. heres what i've done already:
    restored router to factory settings and updated with latest firmware
    cleared all known wireless networks within network preferences
    tried both firefox and safari
    accessed router using IP address and loaded pages instantly
    works fine connected to router with an ethernet cable
    the only thing i havn't tried is a different wireless network, which i'm going to try tomorrow when i go into university.
    has anyone any idea what the problem may be? like i said, its been working fine for the past 2 months but has just decided it doesn't like my macbook.
    any help or suggestions would be great, thanks alot

    I had the same problem as you. It all started when all of a sudden my macbook wouldnt automatically join my home wifi that is usually does. I ignored this issue because it still worked, and this persisted for a few months. After a while, the situation got worse and after waking up from sleep, my wifi signal would go strong at first, then weaken until it kicks me off, and i no longer could reconnect as I would get a connection timeout error. I just went to the apple store and they replaced the airport card for free for me.
    So basically your airport card is slowly dieing, replacement is inevitable.

  • I am trying to connect to my friend's wifi, i have a very strong signal indicated on my ipad, but cannot connect to the internet.  Yesterday i connected without any problem, can anybody tell me why i cannot connect today?

    i am trying to connect to my friend's wifi, i have a very strong signal indicated on my ipad, but cannot connect to the internet.  Yesterday i connected without any problem, can anybody tell me why i cannot connect today?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Can SAP GRC AC 5.3 connect without any problem with SAP R/3 4.7 Enterprise?

    hello,
    I went to the PAM in the SAP Marketplace to see if SAP GRC AC 5.3 could connect to SAP R/3 4.7 Enterprise but I can't see all the "Add-On Product Version for...", it's cut off.
    Can SAP GRC AC 5.3 connect without any problem with SAP R/3 4.7 Enterprise?
    If I can't is there any proof about it? I have to show it to a client.
    Best Regards,
    Pablo Mortera,

    Pablo,
    GRC AC 5.3 works perfectly fine with SAP's R/3 4.6c, mySAP ERP 4.7 and ECC systems. In fact we have two 4.7 Enterprise systems connected to GRC AC 5.3 system.
    You can get the details of supported SAP ERP systems under prerequisite section of Info page of GRC AC 5.3 , it can be accessed on marketplace at -
    Downloads-->Installations and Upgrades - Entry by Application Group > SAP Solutions for Governance, Risk, and Compliance>SAP GRC Access Control>SAP GRC ACCESS CONTROL>SAP GRC ACCESS CONTROL 5.3
    Just ensure to have proper BASIS and ABAP support pack level as mentioned in prerequisites.

  • TS2621 From my iPad I get CannotConnect To The Server error message. The iPad is new and I have never received an email via the icloud acct. My PCM receives icloud mail, no problem. Internet connectivity not an issue.

    From my iPad I get an error message "cannot connect to the server". Internet connection not the problem. No problem receiving mail from icloud on my PC. I think it was a set up issue. iPad is new and receives mail from hotmail no problem. It just will not connect to the icloud server.

    I am having this same issue.  I can access these accounts from computers, other locations on others' computers, but I cannot get the mail from one account on either my iPhone or iPad.  I've deleted the account on the iPad and re-installed it, but it still will not receive mail.
    Frustrating.

  • Problem with dropped connections...

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem with dropped connections. Let me explain...
    I have a computer with Windows XP SP3 where I have installed Toad, PuTTY and Oracle 10g client. I need to connect to several database and Linux hosts and have a strange problem. What happens is the following:
    1 - When I arrive at a customer location, I boot up my computer (I'm not using hibernate or standby) and plug-in to the network.
    2 - After I login to Windows, every session in PuTTY (to Linux), SQL*Plus or Toad (to database) gets dropped after only a few seconds.
    3 - I reboot my computer again, and everything works fine.
    I have no explanation for this beahavior. This happens across different customers, database versions and Linux OS kernels and versions. It seems to be related to something in my computer that is fixed on the 2nd restart.
    Has anybody experienced any similar problem?
    Thank you!

    pmcatarino wrote:
    I plug directly at client's site.
    And I can access the web and messaging on the first reboot... the only thing that appears to be malfunctioning is putty and toad as I stated above.
    Edited by: pmcatarino on Oct 24, 2008 6:25 PMDoes that mean you can ping to the server without problem when putty and toad having problem?
    If you install an Oracle client on your machine and configure TNS, will the sqlplus drop as well? Or download and install SQL Developer, see if SQL Developer having any problem connect.

  • Since upgrade to ios6 l have been having problem with wifi connection and connecting to App Store and iTunes store

    Q since upgrade to iOS6 l have been having problem with wifi connection and getting into App Store and itunes

    Saw this on another post.
    Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.
