Access http connection

Hi,
How do I configure to access http connection so that file can be retrieve dynamically?
Eg: Remotely I have Xml application, with some services (length conversion, space conversion, weight conversion etc etc).
Total number of services must be retrieve to create GUI using swing - 3 services in this case = 3 button and labelled as length conversion, space conversion, weight conversion?
How can I do that ? Anyone interested to provide some guide ?
Regards & God Bless, Edison

Hi,
Will the external image will be fetched by the user browser or by the SAP application server ICM ?
If you want to use an SM59 HTTP destination, the image will be fetched by the SAP server and you SAP server needs internet access which is usually not allowed in most companies...

Olivier

Thank u Thompson For your kind reply. I got the problem solved. It was the the problem of Untrusted Applet as u said.Now i Have signed my applet and this appletplayer plays audio only from the server from where this applet comes and from the localmachine also.Now it is playing fine from the server.
But i have another problem , If i am asking that in the wrong forum plz forgive, I will ask it it in applet forum also.
Problem is , I have implemented a joystick with this player. The idea is to combine this player with a text editor so that user can hear audio at the same time he can type in the editor what he hear and he can rewind and forward using joystick(It is actually a footswitch controller) with his leg. This driver i got from Source forgenet works fine in my localmachine and localnetwork also.But i have to install .DLL file in every client machine. This should be avoided.When a client having no jmf and joystick in his machine tries to run this applet through the browser the required Joystick driver and jmf must be installed in client computer also.
By signing the applet and using ARCHIVE keyword i think jmf part will be ok but what about joystick driver.How i could install it in client machine.Playerapplet throws jjstck.dll not found exception
plz guide me

• Connection reset when accessing HTTPS through proxy

Since upgrading to firefox 27 when trying to access https://www.birtles.org.uk I receive a connection reset or connection interrupted error. I am connecting through a proxy. Firefox 26 works correctly.
I have tried on 3 different machines 2 windows and one Mac with the same results.

Same issue and resolution for me when I try to access https://mail.ntlworld.com. I'm also connecting through a proxy, have tried both of them available to me. It works fine using other browsers, just firefox causing issues.
Also on an unrelated note, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/users/register keeps redirecting to the login page. Tried on multiple browsers, in the end had to use mobile to create an account.

• Remote connection via http connection-URL access

Hello all,
I would like to connect to the customer Business object system from our solution manager. The customer has configured http connection and has opened the connection in marketplace and has maintained http connection-URL access. The URL has also been maintained.
I have added the corresponding entry also in my hosts file. But i am not able to access the customer URL.
Anyone please tell me how to do remote connection for the connection type "http connection - URL access".
Thanks,
Aishwarya.

Hi Tim,
I am getting "The page cant be displayed" error while trying the BO system's URL in my browser.
Please tell me which of the below methods i can use:
1. By directly connecting to the BO system URL from the browser (is it possible?)
2. By using VPN connection
3. By installing diagnostic agent in solution manager
4. By following the steps in this link:

• Making https: connection from java code loaded into Oracle 8i database

A bit of a blast from the past, really, as 8i provides a JVM at 1.2.2.
I need to provide an PL/SQL function which accesses a RESTful web service requiring https connection. Got the call working under 1.2 locally without much trouble using:
static {
System.setProperty("java.protocol.handler.pkgs",
"com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol");
Security.addProvider(new com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Provider());
}The trick is to get the Oracle database to run the code internally. What libraries do I need where? I get an extremely unhelpful NoClassDefFoundError, without mention of the offending class.
By doing loadjava with jcert.jar,. jnet.jar and jsse.jar (the libraries I'm using with the test program) I can get loadjava to accept and allegedly resolve the class.

Well, sadly look at the colour scheme.Yeah, sarcastic was I. The NoClassDef error seriously doesn't give a class name? I find it astonishing that any implementation would be that stupid.Seriously. The strange thing is that before I got to the NoClassDefFound I had a Initialization error (until I added a security rule for setting the Provider) and for that I got a full stack trace (in an obscure trace file, granted).

• HTTP connectivity error while using Blackberry MDS and JDE 5.0.0

Hello,
I am using BB MDS simulator 4.1.2 and BB JDE 5.0.0 for testing sample Oracle ADF Mobile client apps that I have developed.
My app tries to access webservices via HTTP.
Here is where I am encountering a HTTP connectivity issue.
1. For instance, while trying to test HTTP using Blackberry browser, I see the error : "Unknown host mobile.blackberry.com:80"
2. The sample I tried to run to test webservices - accepts a word from the user and gets it translated in to a desired language, using a webservice provided on the internet.
Here, I have tried to translate the word 'madam' from English to French.
I have encountered a HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request.
Kindly have a look at the MDS Trace as below (related entries in bold) and suggest if I am missing something from the configuration perspective.
PS : I have tried various options from the blackberry forums but they were not very helpful.

Hi, there:
A couple of things to try and check:
- Does your network connection goes through proxy server? If you are behind a proxy server, then you would need to set up proxy server in MDS by open the file <MDS simulator install>/config/rimpublic.property, go to the [HTTP Handler] section, and add the following line:
application.handler.http.proxyEnabled = true

From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

An Added Bonus is that you will have a Backup of iTunes.

• Disturbing http connection from ISE to an unknown Internet address

I have an ISE version 1.1.2.145 Patch-5 running in standalone mode. No one has access to the ISE appliance except myself. The ISE has an IP address of 1982.168.1.1
today, I noticed that the ISE is attempting to make an outbound http to an unknown Internet IP address of files.liferay.com. Fortunately, my checkpoint firewall does not allow this connection:

The question is why the ISE is doing this? What is the purpose for this http connection, some kind of "back door" by Cisco?

Liferay is an open source web portal for hosting cloud applications. This is definitely NOT a Cisco back-door to the ISE.

• Why is my Apple ID not allowed to access iTunes Connect?

I'm trying to apply to post my podcast via iTunes, but in the process of trying to apply, I receive an error message informing me that my Apple ID is not authorized to access iTunes Connect. Any suggestions?

Are you able to sign into the iTunes Store and purchase items with that ID? If so I've no idea why you should get this message. However, though I'm not familiar with iTunes Connect, I'm not sure it's got anything to do with posting podcasts. To submit a podcast you go to
https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast
Is that what you've been doing?

• Problem: HTTPS connections via authenticated proxy

Hi all,
we are facing a problem with the BEA implementation of the HTTPS
client/server protocol. As you might know it's possible to tunnel T3 via
HTTP/HTTPS. We are evaluating that at the moment. To make authentication for
proxy servers possible we followed the documentation and created a class
implementing the ProxyAuthenticator interface. Everything worked find until
we tried to use this together with the HTTPS-protocol. Whereas it works as
long as the proxy doesn't ask for authentication, the ProxyAuthenticator
class isn't even called in the other case. Has anyone of you already made it
work?
Your help is highly appreciated,
Tchaw!

implementing the ProxyAuthenticator interface. Everything Think your are trying to authenticate the jdk 1.2 way,
maybe just trying it jdk 1.1 like will help.
What i found in the jsse Docu:
When accessing HTTPS servers through a web proxy, you must set the "https.proxyHost"
and "https.proxyPort" system properties to
the correct host name and port number of the web proxy.
For example, to set this property on the command line to access HTTPS servers
through the proxy host "webproxy" running at port 8080 you would use:
java -Dhttps.proxyHost=webproxy -Dhttps.proxyPort=8080
And some of my sample code for proxy auth:
System.getProperties().put( "proxySet", "true" );
System.getProperties().put( "proxyHost", "proxyurl" );
System.getProperties().put( "proxyPort", "8080" );
String authString = "userid:password";
// enter the username and password for the proxy
String auth = "Basic " + new sun.misc.BASE64Encoder().encode authString.getBytes());
URL u = new URL("http://www.bild.de/");
URLConnection connection = u.openConnection();
connection.setRequestProperty( "Proxy-Authorization", auth ); // Set up the connection
so it knows you are sending proxy user information
connection.setRequestProperty( "Authorization", auth );
connection.setDoInput( true ); // Set up the connection
so you can do read and writes
connection.setDoOutput( true );
// request.getAuthType() // Rueckgabewert ueberpruefen

• Open HTTP connection failed

Hi all.
The environment is J2SDK4 + Tomcat4.0.4
I tried to implement the WebClient.java in SUN/Marty Hall's book "Core Servlets and JavaServer Pages".
Everything compiles okay. All the java and class files are in a package under the /examples folder in tomcat.
When I invoke WebClient.html in "http://localhost:8080/examples/" I got this error:
load: class com.omh.utilities.WebClient not found.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.omh.utilities.WebClient
at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source)

at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.access$100(Unknown Source)
...etc...
Other servlets okay.
Can someone point me in the right direction please.
TIA :-)

Oops, forgot about the dukes.
Here is a more detailed description of my problem:
My environment is j2sdk4 and TC404. I am trying to implement SUN/Marty hall's WebClient for administering host, port and requests. The code uses java.net's SocketUtil. e.g.
(NetworkClient.java)
Socket client = new Socket(host, port);
handleConnection(client);
protected void handleConnection(Socket client){
PrintWriter out = SocketUtil.getWriter(client);
BufferedReader in = SocketUtil.getReader(client);
etc
I'm not sure whether this is TC4 or a java related problem, but all java code compiles to class file okay.
My path is $CATALINA_HOME/webapps/examples/
In the server.xml I've uncommented the example Context, like this:
(server.xml)
<Connector className="...Ajp13Connector" ...etc...>
<Connector className="org.apache.catalina.connector,http.HttpConnector
port="8080" minprocessors="3" maxProcessors="10"
enableLookups="true" acceptCount="3" debug="0"/>
<Engine jvmRoute="blurb" name="blurb" defaultHost="localHost" debug="2">
<Logger...>
<Realm...>
<Host name="localhost" debug="0" appBase="webapps" unpackWARs="true">
<Valve...>
<Logger...>
<Context path=/examples" docBase="examples"
debug="0" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">
</Context>
In my TC log, I've this error:
"GET /examples/com/omh/utilities/WebClient.class HTTP/1.1" 404 675
On the java console, I have these errors (they tend to be very long and tedious):
load: class com.omh.utilities.WebClient not found.java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.omh.utilities.WebClient at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin.security.PluginClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) ...etc...Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed. at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source) at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.access$100(Unknown Source)
...etc...
Other demo and example servlets and jsp that come with the standard install work find. Other stuff I put in examples work find as well.
Is this a TC setup error on my part???
TIA

• Http connection problem on real series 40 device

Hi guys,
I'm having a problem with my midlet whenever it connects to a servlet through HTTP. When i access the servlet through a getResponseCode() command or through an openInputStream() command, a java.io.ioexception exception is called. I'm sure that the problem isn't with the servlet since i can access it just fine both through a browser or through the nokia emulator. The problem only happens when i use a real 7210 device to test the application. When i tested the application on a real series 60 device it worked just fine.
I think the problem is with the security settings of series 40 phones. It seems that the midlet doesn't allow http connections. Do i need to do anything to allow http connections from a series 40 midlet? I have already set the gprs access point to internet as some posts have advised. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi guys!
First of all, I'll introduce myself. My name is Angel and I am a spanish guy who likes this techs.
I've been reading your answer to the question related to why http connections doesn't work on series 40 nokia mobiles. I mean about protocol used on connections among mobile-WAP Gateway... and I really have to tell you that you helped me about understanding how they actually work...
Well, anyway, the thing is that I'm working with this sort of connection through the internet in order to request information from a servlet wich is in close realation with a Database. I launch queries SELECT,INSERT,DELETE,... against the server wich reports the results. This is part of my final year project, in order to finish my degree in Computing Science Engineering.
But, I am using the series 40 Nokia, to be exact my mobile is the 6100 which has almost the same features than the 7210, and I do http connections over the WAP Gateway of my networking operator. I havenṫ ever tried do them over GPRS yet, because at glance it "seemed" to work fine and I didnṫ really need to mess with it. Having this hardly controlled, well it turned out that I got some troubles in connections I report you so I hope you can also help me about:
1.- Connections several times are cut, when it's opened not longer than 45 seconds about.
1.1.- I found the trick that not closing the outputStream I have indefinied time to deal with them,
having to close them manually, I mean connections.
1.1.1 - Unfortunetly that doesn't happen always. The fact is that It works really fine but for some
particular ocassions when It seems as if it couldn't find the server because it receives no
data.
WIth all this, I'd really like to know what the hells is actually going on the wap-gateway. Because one of the things I could realize is that http connection headers are completely changed and fullfilled of data, so I had to take really care with them in order to keep the one I needed.
Probably that depends on the networking operator I am dealing with, isn't it?
And going further connections are set up like the mother and father of the networking operator wap-gateway want, I guess, aren't they?
And I'd like to ask you if my tricky thing is actually crazy just to get what I am looking for, because it doesn't work a few few times, but those make the application goes down.
And another, When you talk about TCP/IP stack. You mean the queue which in a conventional connections processes are queued-up in waiting for the chance of being admitted to be processed if they are TCP incoming connections or in the oppsoite way if they are outcoming...?
OK, thanks in advance , and sorry for my peculiar long message, because I'm not so used to write over here, though I am when I try to find answers to the unknown ;-)
Congratulations to this forum and greetings to those who can read me.
Greetings from the south-east of spain where sun is stuck on your face even if you use sun-glasses.

• Http connection / Accompli 008

Hi,
I'm currently developing a J2ME application for the Accompli 008.
Everything works fine, but I'm having trouble making HTTP connections from the Accompli 008.
I reduced the code that I only make a simple http-connection. The code works on the emulator and on a Siemens SL45i but the Accompli hangs. It connects to the Remote Access Server but then nothing happens. If I catch the java exception I see a "socket error".
With the same settings it's possible to get an internet connection when I use the pre installed browser.
Can you give me any help?
Thanks in advance.
