Access Rights Assignment per Report/Layout

Dear SAP Experts,
Could you give me a hint where access rights for reports (smartforms or sapscript) are assigned?
To give more requirement, what if we want to be more specific such that for example, we have 2 companies which are using the same report (e.g. Invoice), but we want to assign a different layout for each company automatically (depends on the company code of the invoice)? Is this "customizable" or should be programmed?
Your advice is highly appreciated.

Hello,
This will be the customized one, create an authorization object like ZXYZ in SU21, and now inform the basis guys to assign the auth object to the  required profiles, no win the report program i.e. the print program use Authority-check syntax. If the sy-subrc = then get the one layout or else another layout.

  • Granting full access rights to archiving reports

    Hi,
During Monitoring Reports deployment, I've unintentionally granted ReadOnly permission to user administrator. Now I access to https://servername/reports and only view directories. I don't have any buttons, such as "new folder" or "new data
source". I tried to rerun Monitoring Reports deployment - no result. In SQL management console for administrator user I unchecked ReportsReadOnlyRole for databases where this role exists. And also granted administrator user dbowner for all databases -
    no result.

    Hi,
Is there any update on the issue?
If the issue persists, you can also post the issue on SQL Reporting Services forum as the issue is also related to SQL Report Server permission issue. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Report layout supports each field listed vertically(1 field per row)

I'm basically new to APEX. I have a report that displays 1 record of data with each field(1 per row) listed vertically. When using the default APEX report layout template, the Print attributes(.pdf, xml, online, HTML, etc.), every format prints all fields in one row. Can someone please provide the proper report layout that I can use to get my desired printout?

  • Run a report of user access rights ?

Hello, I would like to run a report from Active Directory (windows server 2012) that summarises the access rights that my various users have.
Is there a way of doing this ?

Since other experts already mentioned about the OU ACLs, you can refer to this blog by Ashley in order to find out where your groups are used in shared folders:

  • Assign report layout to Interactive report

Is it possible to link a Report Layout to an Interactive query so that downloads to pdf will pick up the new format.

I understand what you are saying.
Leave this first date column as it is but create a third column to the left of the first date column. And put a MIN(promotion date) formula on this. Now your new column will pull a single date for the combination of the 03 GHI. We still need the original promotion date column for our promotion date2 column to work correctly. but we dont have to show it. so adjust the format of this column (white on white) so that its hidden.

  • Custom Report Layout with mutliple child tables

I am trying to create a custom report layout (using Bi Publisher) where I have parent data (multiple jobs on a page) and several child tables for each job (JobDays and JobStops) and several child tables for JobDays (JobDayProviders, JobDayCrew). On the apex screen, I have a join on Jobs and JobDays and I am using functions to string each child row value for JobDayProviders and JobDayCrew together and putting a <br> in between so that they will format on separate lines within a cell. It works fine on the screen but when trying to print to pdf, it ignores these line breaks. I have also tried using <br></br> (saw an article that said just use HTML in bi pulisher) which puts two lines in between each value on the screen and is still ignored on the pdf.
    for example:
    Table hierarchy:
    Jobs table
    Job Stops
    Job Days
    Job Day Service Providers
    Job Day Crew
Report Layout per job (will have mutlipe jobs to print, just printing 1 day per job):
    Jobs.col1 JobStops.row1 JobDay.col1 JobDayProviders.row1 JobDayCrew.r1
    JobStops.row2 JobDayProviders.row2 JobDayCrew.r2
    JobDayProviders.row3
    Thanks,
    Linda
First, is there a way to get bi publisher to recognize the line breaks? If not, what is the best way to create a custom report for this scenario? I tried to create a report query with mutliple queries, but cannot determine how to link the child queries to the paren query. I have seen an example where a button is pressed to print one parent row and the id of that row is saved and referenced as a parameter in each of the queries, but if printing mutliple parents on a report, how would I link the child queries to the parent query?

    Helen,
The best way for your case is to use a content folder and customize it whichever way you like.
however, your question is about reports. the problem in reports is this that you have to use just one single query and the layout of the results of this query are displayed in a peculiar way.

    UNION
    SELECT NULL,COLUMN2 , COLUMN3, COLUMN4, COLUMN5
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
---------- Now, have the following codes in the layout segments:
    <!--- header --->
    <table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" width="20%" align="center">
    <!--- body --->
    <tr align="center">
    <td><table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0" width="30%" align="center">
    <tr align="center">

    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN2.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN3.FIELD#></TD>

    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN5.FIELD#></TD>
    </tr>
    <!--- footer --->
    <TR><TD></TD></TR>
this should produce a report with a table structure (you may see the whole if you give BORDER="1" in the main table tag). Within this table, the first column of the first row should be showing top-leftmost column value once (COLUMN1 value) and then the next rows would show last four column values as a table block on the right-bottom part.

  • Issue with Shared Components - Report Layouts Download

After my isp provider upgraded from APEX 3.2.1 to 4.0, I am now unable to go into the Shared Components -> Report Layouts section and access an existing report to download my rtf template. Is there another way to go and get this out of the database. I need to update a report layout that is old and I do not have a backup of the original report and do not want to spend the time to recreate.
    Thanks,
    Mark

If you have TOAD, or if you can install it, by connecting to your database you will be able to access your report layout via the Schema Browser. The whole path should be "All Schemas -> APEX_040000 -> Tables -> WWV_FLOW_REPORT_LAYOUTS". In that table you will find you report layout. Double click on it and copy/paste it into a text editor.
Note: You might need to be granted some rights to access the 400+ tables of the APEX_040000 schema. Or if you have a DBA, ask him to do this for you.
Of course, if you don't want to install TOAD, I bet you could query that table from the SQL Commands of the SQL Workshop, but you would again need the rights to access said table.
    Best regards,
    Mathieu

  • Example Named Column Report Layout?

    Howdy,
Using APEX 3.1.2, I've successfully setup and tested Apache FOP for a print server. I'm hoping to create a multi-line report layout to emulate the MS Access (of Evil) one this app is replacing, but I'm having trouble getting started.
It seems that I need to create a Named Column report layout. I've been scouring this forum, the web, and even the new Pro APEX book to find an example of the contents of even the simplest of these XSL-FO files, but I can't find one anywhere. Granted, a little XSL-FO experience would help here, but I can't seem to glean enough from the web to put the pieces together, at least as it applies to APEX. It seems that the examples I do find contain static data, whereas it looks like I should be creating a template form for APEX to populate for passing onto the FOP engine.
Does anyone have a simple two-column layout they'd be willing to share? Or a good weblink?
    TIA!

  • Custom report layout question...can't find any answers anywhere

I am trying to build a report in Portal, using the custom report layout. The report displays like so, before I do any customization:
    COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
where COLUMN1 is the same value, always per report; COLUMN2 and COLUMN3 vary.
    What I want is:
    COLUMN1
    COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN2 COLUMN3
In the report layout editor, Body section, this is what I see:
    <TD ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN1.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN2.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN3.FIELD#></TD>
so #COLUMN1.FIELD# must be some kind of array, but I am not finding any documentation anywhere on how to reference the individual values. All I need is the very first value of the COLUMN1 variable. Once I have that value, I can put it where I need it, but I can't get at that value, just the array.
I have searched portal center, the app server documentation, html documentation. I have googled everything I could think of, but came up with nothing. I found a similar question on this forum, but no one responded with an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Overruling inherited access rights does not work properly

    Hello everybody,
I have encountered an issue when I tried to overrule "Home" level access rights on SSRS (Verion 2009.0100.1600.01).
The situation is as that there is a third party company which has to setup and edit reports. I created a folder for them and edited security settings there. I confirmed to have different security settings than on parent "Home" level as the third
party should not have access to the other reports.
I added the user and assigned "Content Manager" role.
After that he was able to access the folder, upload reports and data sources.
BUT: He is not able to edit reports or sources. He always gets the message:
The permissions granted to user 'XY' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied) Get Online Help
I assigned all roles but this did not help.
Test showed that if the user has the rights inherited from "Home" (added there with Content Manager role) he can edit the reports he uploaded. But in this case he has also access to all other folders (as the inherit also security settings from
    "Home").
Is it not possible with SSRS to set it up the way I planned? Thanks in advance for any help!
    Br,
    Karsten

    Hi Karsten,
In Reporting Services, the Content Manager role is a predefined role who has full permission to manage report server content, including the ability to grant permissions to other users, and to define the folder structure for storing reports and other items.
It contains Manage data sources and Manage reports tasks.
Besides, if the user has the rights inherited from "Home”, he will have all permissions inherited from “Home” permissions. If we click the “Edit Item Security” button, then we can assign some particular permissions for the user.
In your scenario, it seems that someone had modify tasks for this predefined role in SQL Server Management Studio. Please change it back. In order to allow the user can only access to the folder, we should create a role with Manage reports task
in the SSMS, then assign the user with the role in the parent folders. For more details about how to Create, Delete, or Modify a Role in SQL Server Management Studio, please see:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/ms156293.aspx
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,

  • Multiple data sets: a common global dataset and per/report data sets

Is there a way to have a common dataset included in an actual report data set?
    Case:
For one project I have about 70 different letters, each letter being a report in Bi Publisher, each one of them having its own dataset(s).
However all of these letters share a common standardized reference block (e.g. the user, his email address, his phone number, etc), this common reference block comes from a common dataset.
The layout of the reference block is done by including a sub-llayout (rtf-file).
The SQL query for getting the dataset of the reference block is always the same, and, for now, is included in each of the 70 reports.
Ths makes maintenance of this reference block very hard, because each of the 70 reports must be adapted when changes to the reference block/dataset are made.
Is there a better way to handle this? Can I include a shared dataset that I would define and maintain only once, in each single report definition?

    Hi,
The use of the subtemplate for the centrally managed layout, is ok.
However I would like to be able to do the same thing for the datasets in the reports:
one centrally managed data set (definition) for the common dataset, which is dynamic!, and in our case, a rather complex query
    and
datasets defined on a per report basis
It would be nice if we could do a kind of 'include dataset from another report' when defining the datasets for a report.
Of course, this included dataset is executed within each individual report.
This possibility would make the maintenance of this one central query easier than when we have to maintain this query in each of the 70 reports over and over again.

    Hi,

    Hi,
In your report footer, set it to create a new page before it is printed (In 'Section Expert', select the Report Footer -> 'Paging' tab -> Check 'New Page Before' checkbox). Throw your Terms & Conditions into the Report Footer section.
If you already have a Report Footer that you want to keep, just split the footer into two sections (Right-click the Report Footer section -> 'Insert Section Below') and follow the same procedure for the newly created section.

  • Report print attributes - custom report layout

    Hi there,
I've looked for this information in the web and in this forum without luck so far...
We have here BI Publisher and I use the "Enable Report Printing" option in a traditional report in Apex 4.0.2. That works great.
But instead of using the "Default Report Layout", I want to use a custom one based on a RTF file. However I have no idea what the data XML looks like in order to build a custom layout.
To be clear: if you go to Shared Components > Report Queries, you have a Download XML Data option so you can build your report layout based on the XML structure. For instance, you can use <?for-each:ROWSET1_ROW?>, <?COLUMN_NAME?> etc
Any ideas about what that XML structure is for a traditional report?
    Thanks
    Luis

Found it: change temporarily the output format to XML and download the report. The XML structure is all there. Very helpful to know that all page items are included in the XML as well. It would be good to have this functionality detailed somewhere in the Apex documentation.
What I still need to know is how to access the substitution strings below in my RTF (NOT XSL-FO) template:
Select Default Report Layout to use the built-in generic report layout.
To use a custom generic report layout, select it from the list.
You can use the following substitution strings when building custom XSL-FO report layouts:
    #PAGE_HEADER#
    #PAGE_HEADERFONT_COLOR#
    #PAGE_HEADER_FONT_FAMILY#
    ...Any ideas?
