Access to form allowing SQL query

Hi all,
I have extracted a list of users who could access forms that allow SQL query such as
Define Descriptive Flexfield Segments (FND_FNDFFMDC)
Define Value Set (FND_FNDFFMVS)
Define Validation Templates (ONT_OEXPCFVT)
I need to remove accounts who could access the above forms due to security issue from the best practices
However, when I asked my user (who has access to above forms) to login to Oracle ebs, he is unable to navigate to the form listed above. Is there another application setting that forbid my user to access the above forms?

Please create your own responsibilities covering required menu and functions. you can exclude these menus/functions from responsibilities.

Creating tabular form using SQL query

Hi,
I need to create a tabular form using an SQL query so that multiple rows of a table are displayed on screen and are editable to the user.
I have created this sort of form before using the Tabular Form wizard however for this form I need to enter SQL to produce it.
The steps I take are:
1. Create Page
2. Page with Component
3. Form
4. Fow on a SQL query
5. For the query I have: 'select * from depot_master_customer'
However when I view the page, it just displays one blank field with the title '*' !!
I am doing something completely wrong here? It seems like it should be a simple thing to do.
Any help appreciated, this one is driving me mad.

You will need to manually create the tabular form and DML process. This is covered in detail in the How To document shown below:

Form on SQL query for updating.

Hello again,
Im trying to wirte a form to udapte the information in a table. I have a table with a PK which holds a persons name, and an activity assigned to them (and loads of other fields but they dont matter atm). I would like to have a form which has an SQL query running in one region and then the form underneath to be able to edit (reassign a person to a different activity) an item appearing in the query result. Ive got a form at the moment which is form on an sql query but its not updating when i fill out the form, is it something to do with the regions?

So on the screenie, i have the bottom region for the query (no values in table hence the error (i think!))
The call ID is FK to another table
severity level and status will be usdated here
description is self-explanitory
analyst_id is the main field to be changed here, the call id will be assigned a new analyst via this form.
action_id is actions carried out on this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try a PIVOT operator in your SELECT command, or one of the other ways to turn rows into columns. Look in the SQL manual for more information, or ask in the SQL and PL/SQL forum.

Form an sql query

I have a problem and can't quite figure it out.
The picture is like this - I have a campaign which has a set of
keywords associated with it and a searchtopic. This searches the web for the topic and retrieves results and then counts the number of occurences of each keyword from each hit of the search query and stores this in an analysis table.
I have the following tables
Campaign table with campaign_id
Urlcontent table with url_id and campaign_id -->
url_id | url | content | campaign_id
Keyword table with keyword_id and campaign_id -->
keyword_id keyword campaign_id
Analysis table with campaign_id, url_id, keyword_id -->
analysis_id url_id keyword_id count analysetime
I need to extract data like this

urla | keyworda | counta | keywordb | countb | analysetimeb
urlb | keyworda | counta | keywordb | countb | analysetimeb
urlc | keyworda | counta | keywordb | countb | analysetimec
I think this can be achieved with sql join or subquery but my sql skills
are really poor.
I tried ::
select uc.url, kw.keyword, an.count, an.analysetime from urlcontent uc, keyword kw, analysis an, campaign cm
join uc.campaign_id = cm.campaign_id
join kw.campaign_id = uc.campaign_id
join kw.keyword_id = an.keyword_id
join kw.campaign_id = an.campaign_id

This is probably not the best forum to be posting for help on SQL. Its hard to tell from the explanation of your tables what you need to do. Your join statements need to be of the form:
JOIN aTable ON tableA.field = tableB.field
There are several types of join you can perform. Have a look at this tutorial for some help.

Employees table has emp_id, emp_name, dept_no. and
Department table has dept_no, dept_name as its columns.
now, i want to display the emp_name and the dept_name of all the employees who are in the same deptartment as 'paul'.

ERROR: Updatable SQL Query already exists on page 20.

Hello,
I created a tabular form, then added a where clause and started getting the following error:
Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: no data found in tabular form
So I deleted all components of the tabular form (region, buttons, branches and process) and started building it again from scratch. This is a strategy that has worked for me a number of times in HTML DB. Unfortunately now I get the following error when trying to build a new tabular form:
Updatable SQL Query already exists on page 20.You can only add one updatable SQL query per page. Select a different page.
What is the logic that throws this error. I'm 99% convinced I've cleared the page of any updatable SQL, is there something on the application level I should also clear out?

Ignore this, problem solved. It seems I do have SQL reports that are marked as updatable even though they are just plain reports.

SAP SQL Query Generator

Hi Gali and Experts!!
I am working on ECC 6.0 and have worked on 4.X version too. I was wondering if within SAP do we have any SQL Generator which will automatically generate the SQL query? We create views, we do lot of joins on the tables and we write n number of sql queries, so is there a provision that whenever we generate a view or any other data object we can have access to the underlying SQL query that is being generated at backend. Of course, it must be generating the SQL query behind the scenes....This can be done in Peoplesoft. Please let me know.

Form on a SQL Query - doesn't work with SELECT * - bug or feature ?

When I do this,
Create Page -> Page with Component -> Form -> Form on a SQL Query -> SELECT * FROM EMP
I do not get any items displayed and it creates a simple HTML region / page. Do we have to necessarily specify the column names ?
Iam looking at a way to see if any addition of columns in the table does not involve IT intervention in recreating the form.
When we try to create with Form on a SQL Query, then shouldn't it be similar to the Report where the same thing works, if I give SELECT function_returning_columns() from DUAL even then the same thing happens where it creates an ITEM called functions_returning_columns() it creates HTML region

Since this is for example, I didn't include code for Checksum and hardcoded empno = condition and have provision for 9 columns. I made some changes and tried saving it and I was able to do it.
I altered the table to add a column / drop a column and when I relogin, Iam able to see the changes.
Can you tell me if there could be any drawbacks in this approach ?.

How to execute a SQL Query in Ms-Access

I've a query which fetches the data from the tables based on daily transactions.
I mean, the data gets updated daily basis.
Now, i want to send the user a Ms-access work sheet with the query written, so that when ever the query is executed, it would fetch the records (with latest updates).
I found some documents in google to, how to write sql query in ms-access.
How ever, i'm unable to find the connection setup.
how do i connect to oracle database using ms-access??

SQL Query with MS-Access Database

I have linked my oracle database with MS-Access via a DB LINK. i can access the data from MS-ACCESS, but i have a problem that when i specify the column name or define a where clause in my query it gives me the error ORA-00904: invalid identfier ..
This query fetch the data without any problem SELECT * FROM TBLREPORT@M_ACCESS but when i run SELECT EMP_ID FROM TBLREPORT@M_ACCESS it gives me the error i mentioned above. (Column name have No problem or mistake of spelling even CASE)
also when i try to put where clause in the query it gives me same error SELECT * FROM TBLREPORT@M_ACCESS WHERE EMP_ID = '100' (Error)
is there any change in SQL query for ACCESS database ??

Are column/table names in access case sensitive? Issue
DESC TBLREPORT@M_ACCESS If column EMP_ID actual name shows up in mixed/lower case, enclose it in double quotes and use the exact case. E.g., if column name shows up as Emp_Id, use:
SELECT "Emp_Id" FROM TBLREPORT@M_ACCESSSY.

How to find out which Tables have been accessed without looking at the SQL query ?

I would like to know is there a way to find out what queries have been executed and on which tables without looking at the SQL query.
I have an old C++ code which calls some library functions to access the Oracle database. The source code for the library is not available to me yet. The functions selects/updates/deletes and inserts based on some input parameters I give. I do not know which tables it affects. How do I find out the actual SQL query and/or the tables it accesses ? I was told about V$SQL table that
has the most recently executed queries, but
I did'nt see any queries connected to my process.
Could anybody help me on this ?

PRECISE/SQL can help you if you have access to it
2nd option can be that turn on SQL_TRACE
Run executable of ur c++ program
it will create a trace file in user_dump_dest
and then using TKPROF u can see all quesries and their plan also.
