ACCESS used in Java

by using Java and MS Access, i created a small system, which can read/write information from/to tables in database Access. I run this system in windows environment. it runs well.
i gave this system to another guy, who runs Java in Linux environment. I wonder if ACCESS can be used in Linux environment? if so, should i change some parts in the source code?
thanks a lot!

see the code change wont have bcas there is no code
i think u can
bcas access use microsoft dll which i think linuk doesn't support
access is plateform dependant i.e works only in windows
then to try to install it on linuk and see

  • Access ABAP tables using NWDS Java Code

    All,
    I am planning to write a program to autmatically update is_url entries in sxmb_admin using a Java program.
    Is there a way we can access the ABAP tables using standalone Java Code? would it something like dblookup that we use in the mappings?
    Your Thoughts....
    Thanks.

    Hi Vicky - Interesting..Seems like you are trying to automate every single thing
    However you can make use of Jco to connect to ABAP tables..

  • Deploying a VB dll using some web service and accessing it through java

    I'm new to Web Services Based Programming. I would like to know whether this is possible and if so has anyone tried it. I want to create a vb dll that contains the remote methods that the client will access from a java program. After going thru a lot of articles, I'm still unsure on how to do this. I found one method was to Create a VB program/dll, deploy it in a web service and create the java program that accesses by another web service.
    I'm doing this as part of my lab syllabus. The thing is My lab exercises do not state anything about the technologies that I can use to do this.
    This is all that is stated there:-
    Creation Of DLL Using VB And Deploy it in Java
    I just cant get any ideas other than deploying both the parts as web services. If anyone has Better ideas for this, I would really appreciate it.
    I dont know anything about CORBA for languages other than Java and I'm already using the servlets and EJB's in my normal life. I'm also learning the ORB based programming in java. Therefore your help will probably help me learn something new then what I know.

    Sorry I wasn't too specific in my last question.
    This is my java class calling the native method print

    class HeyWorld {
    private native void print();
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    new HeyWorld().print();
    static {
    System.loadLibrary("HeyWorld");
    In this case, my C method for calling a C++ method: HelloWorld.cpp
    #include "jni.h"
    #include "stdio.h"
    #include "stdafx.h"
    #Include "HeyWorld.h" //this is where i get my function prototype
    #include "Test.h" //this is the C++ header where the print method and the Test class is
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL

  • ODI: Use of Java BeanShell in Knowlegde Module

    Hello,
    I have an array defined pkCols in earlier steps of my IKM. It has assigned 4 values ('A', 'B','C','D').
    I would like to parse all values into one string so I could save them during INSERT INTO ... SELECT statement.
    Basically I would like to get a string 'A_B_C_D_' from my pkCols array.
    So - I have created a step within SQL technology that looks like this:
    INSERT INTO audit_table (...)
    SELECT
    col1, col2, col3,
    '<@ for (i=0; i<pkCols.size(); i++); { @><@=pkCols.get(i)@>_<@ } @>*'* as col4, col5
    FROM other_audited_table;
    It works, but when I look into audit_table in col4 i see exacly the string:
    <@ for (i=0; i<pkCols.size(); i++); { @><@=pkCols.get(i)@>_<@ } @>
    and not string that I am expecting (A_B_C_D_)
    What should I do to make it work and what mechanism I am not aware of ?
    regards,
    J.

    Hi,

    a flat file (java property file/xml file) at the
    server side.
    Could n e 1 suggest me that saving flat file at the
    server side would work,
    coz this file would share by multiple clients.And how
    locking facility j2e gives whilesomebody is modifing
    one file.Does "server side" mean EJBs? Is so, from the EJB 2.1 specs document, section 25.1.2 :
    "An enterprise bean must not use the java.io package to attempt to access files and directories in the file system.
    The file system APIs are not well-suited for business components to access data. Business components should use a resource manager API, such as JDBC, to store data."
    Just make sure you use a resource manager to access files.

  • AES Algorithm error when trying to encrypt using stored Java class.

    Dear All,
    We have a specific reuirement where in we cannot use DBMS_CRYPTO package to encrypt/decrypt data using AES Algorithm
    So I am trying to use a stored Java class and I am getting "AES algorithm not available".
    I am using Oracle 10gR2 standard edition.
    Below is my code
    1. Stored Java class
    2. Stored function to access the above Java class.
    3. Test anonymus PL/SQL to test above code.
    Please help me finding the problem why I am getting "AES algorithm not available" error when I call stored Java class in Oracle.?
    **** If I use "DES" algorithm, it works. Also the Java code works well if I execute it as normal Java class from Eclipse.
    I verified the java.security file in jre/lib/security and I see that there is provider entry for SunJCE.
    The jre version in Oracle is 1.4.2.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Priyanka
    Step1: Stored java class to encrypt and decrypt data
    CREATE OR REPLACE AND RESOLVE JAVA SOURCE NAMED "EncryptUtil" AS
    import java.security.Key;
    import javax.crypto.Cipher;
    import javax.crypto.KeyGenerator;
    import javax.crypto.SecretKey;
    import javax.crypto.spec.SecretKeySpec;
    public class EncryptUtil
         public static String encrypt(String inStr)
         String outStr = "Test data 123";
    try
    KeyGenerator kgen = KeyGenerator.getInstance("AES");
    kgen.init(128);
    SecretKey skey = kgen.generateKey();
    byte[] raw = skey.getEncoded();
    SecretKeySpec skeySpec = new SecretKeySpec(raw, "AES");
    Cipher cipher = Cipher.getInstance("AES");
    cipher.init(Cipher.ENCRYPT_MODE, skeySpec);
    byte[] encrypted =
    cipher.doFinal(inStr.getBytes());
    outStr =new String(encrypted);
    catch (Exception e)
         outStr = outStr + "exception thrown::" + e.getMessage();
    e.printStackTrace();
    return outStr;
    Step2: Stored function to access above stored java class.
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION SF_ENCRYPTUTIL(
    pKey1 VARCHAR2
    ) RETURN VARCHAR2 AS
    LANGUAGE JAVA NAME 'EncryptUtil.encrypt(java.lang.String ) return java.lang.String';
    Step3: Test encryption and descryption
    DECLARE
    outstr VARCHAR2(2000);
    BEGIN
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('outstr-->' || SF_ENCRYPTUTIL('12345'));
    END;
    Below code example using DBMS_CRYPTO. This works, but we do not want to use this.
    declare
    l_in_val varchar2(2000) := 'Test data 123';
    l_mod number := dbms_crypto.ENCRYPT_AES128
    + dbms_crypto.CHAIN_CBC
    + dbms_crypto.PAD_PKCS5;
    l_enc raw (2000);
    l_enc_key raw (2000);
    l_dec raw (2000);
    begin
    l_enc := dbms_crypto.encrypt
    UTL_I18N.STRING_TO_RAW (l_in_val, 'AL32UTF8'),
    l_mod,

    HEXTORAW('001122230405060708090a0b0c0d0e0f')
    dbms_output.put_line ('Encrypted='||l_enc);
    end;

    I guess I'd be a bit curious about why you can't use a DBMS_CRYPTO solution that provides identical output. It seems odd to want to have a procedure running inside Oracle and then dictate that it has to be Java and not PL/SQL...
    I verified the java.security file in jre/lib/security and I see that there is provider entry for SunJCE.
    The jre version in Oracle is 1.4.2.Which java.security file are you talking about? The JVM that is inside the Oracle database does not and can not use configuration files that are outside the database. I suspect when you talk about files and paths that you're looking at a JVM outside the database, which is not the JVM that your Java stored procedure would be using.
    Looking at the error, my assumption is that some JAR file needs to be loaded into the internal JVM in order for the AES algorithm to be available. But I'm unfortunately not familiar enough with these classes to say what that would be.

  • Should i use the Java edition ?

    Hi,
    i'm not sure if i should use the Java edition or the "normal" edition of the berkeley db.
    My application is developed in Java, but i won't be using either JTA, JCA or JMX.
    Is there still any advantage to be taken from using the Java edition ?
    Thanks

    There are many minor differences, e.g., JE has somewhat better write performance, DB uses somewhat less memory, DB has an SQL interface and JE does not. But overall, the two products are very similar, so for most questions you might ask, the answer is going to be "about the same".
    If you want to choose the best product for your app, you'll have to define the very specific criteria that are most important to you. If you care most about getting every ounce of performance out of a specific piece of hardware, using a specific amount of memory, for a specific app (access pattern), then you'll have to write a test and do a comparison.

    How do i implement this requirement?. Is there any Java Library to achieve this?.

Presumably you would mount the NFS on some Windows 2008 mount point (a quick Google search says this is not difficult). Why can't you do the same from Java (Process builder springs to mind) and then access the NFS using standard Java IO.
