ACCESS_VIOLATION at AdobeOwl.dll when call Indesign com interface from windows service

ACCESS_VIOLATION at AdobeOwl.dll when call Indesign CS3 COM interface from windows service application.
Does anyone know how to workaround this issue ?

As AdobeOwl.dll file is missing or corrupted, you need to get a new dll file. Here are the steps to replace setup.dll file
Step 1. You can download missing AdobeOwl.dll here:
http://dllcentral.com/AdobeOwl.dll/1.0.92/download/
Step 2. Paste this file into your system32 or SyWOW64 folder.
Step 3. Navigate to your System32(32Bit OS) or SyWOW64(64Bit OS) Folder.
Note: The location of System32 and SyWOW64 is
C:Windows\System32 (If you are using 32Bit Windows)
C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (if you are using 64Bit Windows)
Step 4. Paste the AdobeOwl.dll file into this folder.
Step 5. Try to run it. It might work now. If not, restart your computer to restore it effectively.

• Is it possible to step into a CVI dll when called by TestStand?

As the question says: "Is it possible to step into a CVI dll when called by TestStand?"
I am sure Ray F. may have a few tricks up his sleeves... Hope you see this post, Ray!
I compiled a dll using CVI. The dll is called as a test by TestStand.
I do have an "exe" version of the code that I use for debug with a testbed, but the behaviour is not the same as testing the actual target while running TestStand. My goal is to get as close as possible to the real events.
Thanks,
JLV

Sorry about that,
There are two ways as I was saying:
1. You can configure the CVI adapter to Execute Steps in a External Instance of CVI (requires CVI 6.0 or greater).
Only go to Configure->Adapters and select the LabWindows CVI adapter and click on configure and select the corresponding option.
After that set a break point in the step that you want to debug.
An external instance of CVI will be launched where you can set break points and step into the code.
2. From CVI Specifying an external process:
In CVI go to Run Specify External Process and enter the seqEdit.exe as the program name (you have to browse to the location <TestStand>\Bin\SeqEdit.exe).
As the argument you enter the name of the sequence file you want to debug.
Now just select Run->Debug SeqEdit.Exe
The Sequence Edtior will be launched and you can set break point in your CVI code and step into it when the step is executed.
Check the Using LabWindows/CVI with TestStand reference manual for more information.
I hope it helps you to get started.
Regards.

• How can I call a COM object from a PL/SQL CODE

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know how to call a COM object from a stored procedure in oracle.
a sample of code
please help,
Hilaire

Are you familiar with external procedures? Basically, you can expose functions exported by a shared library (i.e. a DLL on Windows) to the Oracle database. My assumption is that you'd probably need to write a wrapper DLL around the COM object, since I believe you can only pass fundamental data types back and forth (i.e. no object references). You'd expose the method(s) of that wrapper DLL to the database via external procedures.

When Lion officially comes out from the Mac App Store, I understand that I can just buy it from there. However, will the laptops have Lion automatically? Or does it come with Snow leopard still.

The ones sold that day will come with Snow Leopard most likely but they will be able to get a free upgrade to LIon if they apply within 30 days. Hardware coming through the supply chain from the day of the announcement will have Lion installed so it depends what stock people have to move before buyers see those.

• Adobe Reader XI (11.0.08) doesn't create thumbnail (bitmap) using Microsoft Interface IExtractImage -- Extract on Windows Server 2008 R2, when exe to generate thumbnail is launched from Windows service.

Adobe Reader XI (11.0.08) doesn't create thumbnail (bitmap) using Microsoft Interface IExtractImage --> Extract on Windows Server 2008 R2, when exe to generate thumbnail is launched from Windows service.
But if exe is launched as standalone, then interface IExtractImage --> Extract, gives Bitmap to generate thumbnail of PDF document.
Above problem occurs only for PDF documents, if we tried same with other software like CAD -CATIA it works without any problem.
Is there any security concerns form PDF side, which doesn't allow to generate Bitmaps, if exe to generate it is launched form Windows service.

It might be deliberate, Acrobat and Reader software is not intended to run in a service environment.

• Event in ActiveX or dll when call it in TestStand

Hi
I have a problem with ActiveX or dll build in event when call it in TestStand.
I have a VC++ code in which there is a Com port event and I deal with it in the code, then I build a dll an export some interface functions, the event and event handler is unknow from the outside, but I want to use TestStand to call this dll and I do not know whether the event can load to memory correctly and monitor the event during the whole process. In every TestStand step, is TestStand free the step content when this step is finished? or it is always residing in the memory.
I consider to build it as a dll or an ActiveX

Hi Suraj
First I should mention that I have imported a generated WSDL from XI to create the Model and thus the port configuration. The URL looks like this:
http://<host>:<port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?Version=3.0&Channel=:Telia_Kundservice_portal:Sender_SOAP&version=3.0&Sender.Service=Telia_Kundservice_portal&Interface=urn%3Aacandofrontec.se%2FTelia%2Ffaktura%5ETelia_faktura_4
Service = Telia_Kundservice_portal
Channel = Sender_SOAP
I've also tried with a modified shorter version which is also the one I'm using from the SAP SOAP client.
http://<host>:<port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:Telia_Kundservice_portal:Sender_SOAP
The actual call is a typical one:
wdContext.currentRequest_Faktura().modelObject().execute();
Before this call the Basic authentication (user/passw) is set.

• Problem when calling BPEL process (WS) from APEX

Allow me to reply to my own thread, for the benefit of any others who might want to invoke a BPEL WS from APEX facing the same problem:
Apex does not seem to like asynchronous BPEL processes so the trick is to make a synchronous BPEL process call the asynchronous BPEL process.

• Issue when calling with Facetime video from iphone 6 to iphone 4

Hello,
I am trying to call with facetime video from my iphone 6 (ios 8.0.2) to an iphone 4 (ios 7.1.2) but it doesn't work. It works when I use facetime audio but not the video. I have tried to use my ipad 2 (ios 8.0.2) instead of the iphone 6 and I am experiencing the same problem. Can you please help me out here?
Thnaks!

The iPhone 4 would have to be on wifi for the video to come through, I think. Is the person with the iPhone 4 on wifi?
Can that person receive calls from anyone else using Facetime?

• Satellite U400 wont turn on & when on wont come back from sleep mode

I have a Satellite U400 and its a year and a few months old.
In the last little bit it has been acting up, and it started with when the computer goes to sleep and goes to the black blank screen it will not come back from that.
The only way to do anything is hold in the power key till it turns off and then turning it back on. This brings me to the warning screen I have turned my computer off incorrectly. It has been doings this for a few weeks and started randomly out of the blue.
Then just today it wouldnt turn on at all, I was pressing the power key and the key itself would light up, and on the bottom right hand side the little lights would light up but wouldnt turn on, I kept pressing it over and over and over again and finally it did turn on. Once on I only used it for a few mins before turning off again and then would do the same thing, I kept pressing the bottom till it turned on. Its been on now and hasnt turned off again.
Not to log ago I had to reformat my computer due to me forgeting my password and had locked myself out of the computer. About a week after that is when the issues started. I am not all that computer smart, to be honest, I do understand something things, I can follow step by step to do something.
I really dont want to pay to have it fix I want to just do it myself and soon as its in great shape and never had any issues before.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be, or why it could be?
I am thinking about reformatting again as I am worried that didnt work out right the 1st time or something.
Or if this is something that needs to be repaired does anyone have a clue on the cost of it?
Thanks ^_^

hi aev270,
sounds like a serious problem to me.
try the following: take out battery, cd-rom, hdd and try again.
if it starts up without this components - you got lucky!
this means it probably a software issue (but i dont think so - sorry)
do you see the toshiba logo / bios messages? no - the you are in trouble.
this strange behaviour could depend on many things: defektive components like ram or grafics... or (badest thing) the mainboard...
if you have still warranty on it you should go to a servicepartner having the system checked.

• Error when calling a stored procedure from a SQL Script

Apologies if this is a really dumb question but I can't seem to call a procedure in package from a SQL script. I have a simple package.procedure containing a loop to populate a table. I would like to include a call to this procedure from my database install script, that also includes my CREATE and INSERT statements. I run the script using "@install_databae" and the CREATE and INSERT statements run fine. The script gives an error when it reaches the line below:
exec lazarus.PopulateGridPositions;
and gives the error.....
BEGIN lazarus.PopulateGridPositions; END;
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-04063: package body "LAZARUS.LAZARUS" has errors
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "LAZARUS.LAZARUS"
ORA-06512: at line 1
The procedure and package have both compiled without errors and the statement on its own works fine in SQL*Plus.
I've obviously missed some fundamental concept with scripts and SQL. Please can anybody help me?

And just checking:
You have schema called LAZARUS, which holds a package named LAZARUS, which holds a procedure called POPULATEGRIDPOSITIONS?

• Character conversion problems when calling FM via RFC from Unicode ECC 6.0?

Hi all,
I faced a Cyrillic character convertion problem while calling an RFC function from R/3 ECC 6.0 (initialized as Unicode system - c.p. 4103). My target system is R/3 4.6C with default c.p. 1500.
The parameter I used in my FM interface in target system is of type CHAR10 (single-byte, obviously).
I have defined rfc-connection (SM59) as an ABAP connection and further client/logon language/user/password are supplied.
The problem I faced is, that Cyrillic symbols are transferred as '#' in the target system ('#' is set as default symbol in RFC-destination definition in case character convertion error is met).
Checking convertions between c.p. 4103 and target c.p. 1500 in my source system using tools of transaction i18n shows no errors - means conversion passed O.K. It seems default character conversion executed by source system whithin the scope of RFC-destination definition is doing something wrong.
Further, I played with MDMP & Unicode settings whithin the RFC-destination definition with no successful result - perhaps due to lack of documentation for how to set and manage these parameters.
The question is: have someone any experience with any conversion between Unicode and non-Unicide systems via RFC-call (non-English target obligatory !!!), or can anyone share valuable information regarding this issue - what should be managed in the RFC-destination in order to get character conversion working? Is it acceptable to use any character parameter in the target function module interface at all?
Many thanks in advance.

hey,
I had a similar experience. I was interfacing between 4.6 (RFC), PI and ECC 6.0 (ABAP Proxy). When data was passed from ECC to 4.6, RFC received them incorrectly. So i had to send trimmed strings from ECC and receive them as strings in RFC (esp for CURR and QUAN fields). Also the receiver communication channel in PI (between PI and RFC) had to be set as Non unicode. This helped a bit. But still I am getting 2 issues, truncation of values and some additional digits !! But the above changes resolved unwanted characters problem like "<" and "#". You can find a related post in my id. Hope this info helps..

• Some errors when calling LabVIEW VIs Interactively from DIAdem

Hi! I'm having some trouble using the "Calling LabVIEW VIs Interactively from DIAdem" found on:
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/1A98AB48E35D913086256E23004E6A22
Following the troubleshooting section didn't resolve the issue. I
recompiled and built the exe (DIAdemLabVIEW.exe) for version 7.1.1,
which I am developing on. But still I got the same error message, after
a waiting for about a minute, on a diadem popup window:
Error in <MenuAdd...ctDo.vbs (row:1, column: 1)
Error in <addmenuentry.vbs (row:14, column: 3)
ActiveX component can't create object.: 'DIAdemLabWIEV.Application'
Using the llb's and exe's that was included with the installer worked
flawless, with the exception that LV 7.1.1 vi's didn't appear on the
popup window(DIAdemLabWiev.vi). So I tried to recompile and build for
the 7.1.1, with this result.
I'd be very grateful for fixes or solutions for this problem!
Regards
Roger Isaksson

Brad, thanks for the reply! Below is my (correct?) modification of your script. Have I got it right?
Dim lvapp, vi, viPath, paramName(1), paramVal(1)
Set lvapp = CreateObject("LabVIEW.Application")
viPath = "C:\TEMP\Test.exe"
Set vi = lvapp.GetVIReference(viPath)
vi.FPWinOpen = True
paramName(0) = "In Name"
paramVal(0) = "In Value"
paramName(1) = "Ut Name"
Call vi.Call(paramName, paramVal)
Call lvapp.Quit()
MsgBox "Parameter1 Value = " & paramVal(1)
I am not sure about the format of the <paramName(0) = "In Name">.
The control name is "In" and is a I32, the name for the indicator is
"Ut" and has the same storage type as the control.
Running the script gives an error in line 4, that is the <Set vi =
lvapp.GetVIReference(viPath)>. I'll attach the exe and the error
message.
I have another question regarding the relatively large amount of RAM
that diadem uses for export from my labview application to diadem. More
than 10 times the size of the data is required for exporting to diadem.
Since our application use relatively large files, actually up to
several GB's, this soon becomes problematic. See the attached picture
of the memory usage after exporting a 10MB segment (contains 42
channels of measurement data). Your help in these matters would be
appreciated!
