Accessibility Global Link Fuctional Pattern

Problem Description
Optimally, the application should allow the individual user to set the accessibility level. The thorny UI question is how -- particularly for users of screen readers? Setting the ADF default to screenReader would degrade the output for non-disabled users and disable access keys used by other assistive technology. The ADF default as is does not fully support users of screen readers which means ADF pages would be inaccessible.
Technical Pattern Description
The Accessibility Global Link UI Functional Pattern provides a means for all users, whether users of assistive technologies or not, to select the desired accessibility level for an ADF application without authenticating first. In other to accomplish this, the initial ADF page visited must be accessible at the default level to all users.

How can I access global variables in a loaded Applescript?

How can I access global variables in a loaded script, in Xcode, ApplescriptObjC? Basically, I have a global variable defined in my parent script using "property", and I need to modify objects connected to those variables inside of a loaded script.
Example:
Parent script:
script AppDelegate
property myTextField : missing value
//linked to a text field object
tell myScript to myAwesomeHandler_()
end script
Loaded script:
on myAwesomeHandler_()
myTextField's setStringValue_("The new Xcode is so glitchy ugh")
//changes value of linked text field of parent script
end myAwesomeHandler_
The problem is, the variable is undefined in the Loaded script, and I need it to have the same value as the parent script, and I don't want to pass the variable through the Handler. Any ideas?

I think want you are looking to do will need to be done in two steps. Because myTextField needs to be a property for the ObjectiveC part of the code you cannot turn it into a global.
However if you make a temporary variable global assign the string to it in the handler then set myTextField off of it.

I know you stated you did not want the handler to return a value but I have to ask why? Global's, imo, are not a good idea and really should be used as a last resort.
One other possibility is to pass a reference to the property to the handler. Not sure if that works in AS of if that would satisfy our requirement of not passing the variable through the handler

Another though have you tried to define the property outside the script? That is

Passing Parameter Value from Global link

I have one common Page. It will be accessed from many other Pages. So I added a link in Global button bar to access my common PG. While I click the link , I like to pass url of the current Page. I like to get suggestion for this....

managing a session value is feasible, but not a suggested solution in this scenario as the common link is going to be accessed from multiple pages and it is a global link on all the pages. This will require making changes to all those pages.

Adding a new global link

Hi,
I am trying to add a custom global link on the create time card page in OTL along side the ICX_STANDARD_GLOBAL buttons like Home, Preference, Logout etc. I have created a global menu and added an SSWA Jsp custom function to it. As per the developer guide I also gave icon for this function. Then I added the global menu to the Responsibility Home page menu. But I am unable to see the new custom global button. The pagecontext for the page shows that the custom global menu is attached to the home page menu and ideally the global link should appear.
Any thought?

I have not seen in any responsibility where global links are different. The requirement was to show the custom global link only on my custom pages which are accessed via custom responsibility. That's why i asked that question of showing global link for the responsibilty. I should have asked how to display custom global link only on a custom page and not on seeded pages. I went thorugh the dev guide and found that we can assign the property global menu of the page layout to display custom global links only for that particular page. I created a new global menu with one function. I assigned the global menu to all my custom pages. So now i am able to see the custom global link on all the pages accessible through my custom responsibility. My problem is solved now. Thanks for replying.

The "right click" is a function of the OS and those keyboard commands do not work on the iPad at all with the built in virtual keyboard. I don't use an external keyboard - so I cannot attest to the possibility of that working - but there are no keyboard shortcuts with the iPad keyboard.

I made a new installtion of OracleXE. After that I upgrade it to APEX 3.0 on this way:
- Editing the ..\apex\coreins.sql script
........ On line 573 you need to set the XE variable to 1 for XE installation:

- sqlplus "sys/syspass as sysdba" @apexins password SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP /i/
- sql> @apex_epg_config.sql d:\ (the APEX-installationfiles are under D:\apex)
- Update OWA-Packages with @owainst.sql
- Shutdown und startup the database
After that I can access the link http://localhost:8080/apex, but I am not able to access the link http://localhost:8080/apex/apex_admin - I got the message HTTP 404 Page not found.
I had already drop the schemata FLOWS* and reinstall APEX 3.0, but this is the same.
And if I try this:
http://localhost:8080/apex
and login with workspace INTERNAL, I got this:
application=4050 workspace=10
Error ERR-1014 Application not found
The installation-logfile shows me no errors.
What is wrong here?

I've only used the 3.0.1 upgrade and I can't say I had to do all those changes you've mentioned, I just used the installation guide. However I did my upgrade under Linux, you post indicates that you're using Windows (the D:\ gave it away ;-)) and I've got no experience in installation/upgrades there.

Logical database PSJ: How to access and link tables inside that???

I have a requirement like :
I have to write one report which will display project statuses (PSmodule) using the LDB PSJ.. I am using LDB because I neeed dynamic selection screen.
I need to acees the data from table like 1. PROJ, prps_r and JCDS under the LDB PSJ.. but when I found the hirarchy of these table in the LDB , then all 3 tables are at same level.
then How to access and link data from theses 3 tables using GET and LATE command.
I did like below, but wrong number of records are coming

GET elm_ps .
GET jcds.
can anyone tell me, what 's wrong here.

hi ...get is like a loop in ldb. then if you use the 3 get statements then it will loop with in a loop with different data..

Open file in a new window thru custom global link

Hi All,
I have created a custom global link. I want to open a PDF file (present at OA_HTML) from that link.
So, I created a function for that link having below properties:
Web HTML : file_name.pdf
Type: SSWA plsql function that opens a new window (Kiosk Mode)
File is opening successfully but in the same window. I want to open that file in a new window.
Please suggest some solution for this.

I have created a blank page and write logic to download file in that.
Later, on click on global link, navigated the same to that blank page. So, open save dialog is coming on click of custom global link.

        We have setup a Development system for R&D on SAP NW Mobile 7.1 SPS08. I'm able to register mobile devices (Laptop) in DOE but when I'm trying to access few links (like Administration-->Device Administration) I'm getting error "Access using a 'ZERO' object reference is not possible" and an ABAP dump "OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO" is created. Access global variable in fpga from rt-target

Hi All,
I have a realtime PC with NI-FPGA 7852R.
Generally I used programmatic front panel communication to access variables from FPGA to rt-system since I need the data for control and not for data logging.
The thing is, I bumped into a tutorial and suggested me to use global variables to save resources of your FPGA. My question is, is it possible to access global variable that belongs to FPGA from rt-system? As far as I tried, this does not seem possible.

Access ODBC link table list ONLY one table

Hi all,
I try to link Oracle tables from Microsoft Access via Link Table. The return list show ONLY one table, which by right it should show ALL tables in my Database.
What is the problem here? Anyone encounter this same problem before.
My database is very large, over 10,000 tables. Can it be because of resources issues?

Are they all real tables are or some of them perhspa VIEWS, SYNONYMS or the like? The default list is for just tables. I have seen cases where a really large list would make Access puke, but this generally results in getting nothing listed.

Try closing the App Store app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with App Store 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Guidance required: How to access global panel/file handles from within a dll?

I have been tasked with trying to separate an application into a modular form, basically I will have a main application which will be a generic GUI which must be associated with a DLL that contains test sequences. Currently these test sequences make calls to the various panel controls to display the test information, this currently works great. The problem that I am having is trying to understand code that is compiled to create a DLL is made aware of, what is essentially, global constants that are defined in my main application.
The purpose of this structure is that we will have a generic GUI for multiple products tests, with each DLL representing a different products test sequence, each DLL will be built using the same framework with the generic GUI in mind.
I guess essentially what I am looking for is to call RunUserInterface() from main.exe and control the GUI from tests.dll. Is this at all possible, or should I be using a different approach?
It would be much appreciated if someone could give me some pointers.

Well, in my opinion for such a software design, DLL modules should not directly modify the main GUI.
The main.exe should be responsible from its GUI, so that in case of a GUI modification you should not be have to modify all DLLs.
Also, in this case, there is no problem of accessing global handles, etc.
Instead, you should send "messages" to the main.exe from the test DLLs and the GUI should know what to do with each message.
For messaging between such applications I personally use the DDE library. I find it simple to use.
Your main.exe can setup a DDE server and the test DLLs can attach to it as a client.
Each DLL can send its "steps" to the GUI and the GUI can display them and command the DLL to run each step upon user's selection.
I have seen menchar's posts regarding "shared memory" usage for such purposes.
There might be other options, too.
It is your decision to make.
