Accessing a coldfusion 8 developer server from the outside?

I just installed Coldfusion 8 Developer edition with the built in server on a windows 7 computer on my home network because i want to experiment with some things for a client.  I can access the coldfusion pages from localhost but i cannot access them from any other computer.
I thought that the developer edition coudl be accessed from more than just the computer its running on.
what am I missing?

Hi,
Are you able to browse other web pages ie HTM from other than localhost? I would think if other HTTP was accessible then CFM pages should be also.
If HTTP pages are generally not accessible other than localhost -  perhaps there is a firewall block or there is not route to publish to the internet or LAN.
If other HTTP pages are able to be browsed where as CFM not, perhaps CFM is only available via the “built-in webserver” on port 8501 (or similar) and you need to connect CF to IIS with “Web Server Configuration Tool” (WSCONFIG.EXE) tool.
HTH, Carl.

  • [SOLVED] Can't access my home server from the outside

    Hi all,
I have installed Arch on a Raspberry Pi and am trying to set up a home server. Right now, I am running a simple HTTP server (using node.js, if that matters) on port 8080. From my LAN, I can access the server all right.
From the outside, it seems that the traffic does actually reach the computer (I conclude this from the blinking diode indicating network traffic). However, all requests time out. Interestingly, if I kill the server while a request is pending, the timeout occurs right away.
I have no idea what is causing this. I have checked for iptables rules, but there seem to be none. What is blocking the traffic and how can I find out?
EDIT: Nevermind, I was testing incorrectly -- the traffic did reach the Raspberry Pi, but the return traffic did not reach my test computer because it was blocked by the router's firewall. Testing from TOR works just fine.

I too am having problems accessing Directory server from Netscape Console installed on Winxp.
If I try to open Directory server it doesn't give any error. No windows nothing.
If I try th same from the machine on which it is installed everything is fine. What is strange is that it did open a couple of times. But at the same time I can open the admin server, Netscape Messaging server from the xp box. Searching all over for a solution. Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.
    Config details:
iDS4.13, iMS 5.0, running on Sol 8 box
    Netscape Console 4.2 on WinXP.
    Thanks

  • Steps to transport the forecast profiles from development server to the pro

    Hello All,
We have a scenario wherein we need to transport forecast profiles from APO development server to the APO production sever.
Can anyone suggest me proper steps to include the forecast profiles into the transport request.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Jacky.

    Hi Sujay ,
    Thanks again.
I did check the transaction mentioned by you. But it din't help in my scenario.
I got the sloution for my problem,
we have two tables for forecast profiles, i,e /SAPAPO/DP440G and /SAPAPO/DP440P (these gets updates as and when we create a forecast profiles ) ,
we have to add the entries from this table for the particular forecast profile into the transport request and then we have to transport those requesets , then the profiles would be transported accordingly.
Anyways thanks for replying.. i am giving you points for helping me..:-)
    Regards,
    Jacky Jain.

  • I need helping!!! configuring RDP access to my local server from a remote location on my Cisco ASA 5505 Firewall.

I need helping configuring RDP access to my local server from a remote location on my Cisco ASA 5505 Firewall.
I have attempted to configure rdp access but it does not seem to be working for me Could I please ask someone to help me modify my current configuration to allow this? Please do step by step as I could use all the help I could get.
I need to allow the following IP addresses to have RDP access to my server:
    66.237.238.193-66.237.238.222
    69.195.249.177-69.195.249.190
    69.65.80.240-69.65.80.249
My external WAN server info is - 99.89.69.333
The internal IP address of my server is - 192.168.6.2
The other server shows up as 99.89.69.334 but is working fine.
I already added one server for Static route and RDP but when I try to put in same commands it doesnt allow me to for this new one. Please take a look at my configuration file and give me the commands i need in order to put this through. Also please tell me if there are any bad/conflicting entries.
THE FOLLOWING IS MY CONFIGURATION FILE
Also I have modified IP information so that its not the ACTUAL ip info for my server/network etc... lol for security reasons of course
Also the bolded lines are the modifications I made but that arent working.

Unclear what did not work.  In your original post you include said some commands were added but don't work:
    static (inside,outside) tcp interface 3389 192.168.6.2 3389 netmask 255.255.255.255
and later you state you add another command that gets an error:
    static (inside,outside) tcp 99.89.69.333 3389 192.168.6.2 3389 netmask 255.255.255.255
You also stated that 99.89.69.333 (actually 99.89.69.233, guessing from the rest of your config and other posts) is your WAN IP address.
The first static statement matches Cisco's documentation, which states that a static statement must use the 'interface' directive when you are trying to do static PAT utilizing the IP address of the interface.  Since 99.89.69.333 is the assigned IP address of your WAN interface, that may explain why the second statement fails.
Any reason why you are using static PAT (including the port number 3389) instead of just skipping that directive?  Static PAT usually makes sense when you need to change the TCP port number.  In your example, you are not changing the TCP port 3389.

  • How to mount a sharepoint server from the finder

Can anyone help me with how to mount a microsoft sharepoint services server from the finder. I need to do this because I want to use the collaboration features in Acrobat 8. In order to create a shared review I need to be able to open the document from the sharepoint site with the full version of acrobat and I cannot do that from the web browser. From a PC I would choose to add a network location and the wizard creates a network location in the explorer, then I can access the sharepoint site (across the internet) like another file folder on my local network. I cannot seem to figure out how to accomplish the same thing on the mac. When I put in the URL for the share point site in the connect dialog from the finder it opens a webdave dialog box asking for a domain name and I have no idea what that is and it tells me the password or user name is not correct. Any help would be appreciated

You might want to pose this question in the networking forum too.

  • Best Practices for configuring ICMP from the outside

    Question,
Are there any best practices or best recommendations on how ICMP should be configured from the outside? I have been cleaning up the rules on our ASA as a lot were simply ported over years ago when we retired our PIX. I noticed that there is a rule to allow ICMP any any and began to wonder how this works when the rules above are specific IP addresses and specific ports. This in thurn started me looking to see if there was any documentation or anything to help me determine a best practice. Anyone know of anything?
As a second part how does this flow on a firewall if all the addresses are natted? It the ICMP traffic simply passed through the NAT and the destiantion simply responds?

  • Is it possible to start a remote server from the IDE?

I would want to know if it is possible to start a domain that makes reference to a remote server (from the IDE). On this way I could start and stop the server without loading so much the machine that I use to develop my portal applications. If it is possible how I can do it?

There is no personal Information on a crash Report unless you put something personally identifiable in the comment field. For example, here is a crash report I had on my machine awhile back: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-1de8924f-7068-4702-a410-89c492121220.
You can go to about:crashes in your address bar, and click on the report to view the info there to satisfy yourself that there is nothing in the report. But submitting crash reports is very useful because it gives us the ability to view what crashes are plaguing our users and what we need to fix.

  • Reaching Tomcat from the outside

I've just installed tomcat on my Win2000Pro box. Wish I had a Win2000Server though.
I wanna reach it from the outside.
    This
    http://localhost:8080 gives me tomcat
    This though
    http://321.321.321.321:8080
doesn't give me anything! (Let's assumes my ip is 321.321.321.321)
What do I need to do in order to serve the entire net?
Duke dollars to the first who gives me a valid tip.
    Morten Hjerl-Hansen

When tomcat is running it is acting as a webserver on port 8080 (by default). So if it is not serving documents from other computers in your LAN, WAN or whatever, the problem is not with tomcat but with the network set-up itself.
    Can you ping 321.321.321.321?
The only thing I can think of why this is not working is that you changed server.xml and setup one or more virtual hosts(With the Host directives) but failed to setup 321.321.321.321 also. Is this the case?

  • How can I access my home security DVR from the internet?

My Time Capsule (as a router and not a bridge) blocks me from accessing my home security DVR from the internet.  I can access it from other computers connected to my LAN but not from the internet.  I guess it's a firewall setting issue.  I can't add the home security application to the list of firewall allowed incoming connections since it's a Windows app that I cannot install on my Mac.  On the other hand, the app is installed on my old PC but I can't access the Mac firwall settings from the PC and add the security app (If that's the problem).
My DVR is connected to a Netgear switch which is connected to the Time Capsule which is connected to a Cisco modem provided by Comcast. I thought one of the modem ports had to be opened by Comcast. That was not the issue.  After spending 2 hours on the phone with Comcast going in circles talking to 10 different overseas agents, they concluded the Netgear switch was blocking me from accessing the DVR.  I think they are wrong and that it's a Mac firewall problem.  HELP!!!  Does anyone know what could be the problem and how to solve it?

Did you forward the required ports in the TIme Capsule? If not it won't work.. it has nothing to do with firewall unless the DVR is plugged into the Mac. If it is plugged into a switch you need to lock the IP of the DVR and find out what ports are required.. usually just port 80, ie html.. but it could be some others.
Since Apple do not use upnp to open ports.. the TC will have to manually be provided with the ports.. Apple use PMP-NAT that is not used by the rest of the known world.. Just to ensure you stay in the camp.

  • How do I access my back up files from the time machine if my computer was stolen?

Hi, how do I access my back up files from the time machine if my mac book pro was stolen? I have a mac book air and mac too. But not sure how I can get back all the files from the stolen computer from my time capsule

On the Mac Book Air or other Mac that you have, use Migration Assistant to transfer files from the Time Machine backups of the Mac that was taken.
Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Migration Assistant

  • I have a Mac on my home network and also a Systemline music server on same network. My PC was able to find the server but my MAC cannot. I can ping the server from the mac, but cannot actually connect . Also can't add the mac as a location from server

I have a Mac on my home network and also a Systemline music server on same network. My PC was able to find the server but my MAC cannot. I can ping the server from the mac, but cannot actually connect . Also can't add the mac as a location from server, despite following the Systemline instructions that impy this can be done.
Can anyone please advise what I am doing wrong?

    Hi LowLuster
Thanks for reply. I am not an expert on these sharing protocols but I think I have turned on SMB sharing but still wont connect. I tried adding netwrik drive by using cntrl K in finder and using smb\\network address but nothing. It is driving me mad!!

  • HT202279 Choose your server from the list that appears

I administer four Yosemites servers using OS X Server.
Everytime I launch OS X Server I have to option to Continue, which I do not choose. But I never get a list of other Macs to Adminsiter. I always have to choose "Other Mac" and enter the URL, etc. This happens on two Macs running Yosemite and being used for administrating.
Where is the list of other Macs? No matter how often I connect to them, they never show up and I can find nothing in the menus to add them.
According to How to administer OS X Server remotely using Server App - Apple Support it should be there:
The first time you open the Server app on your admin computer, do not click the Continue button in the "Welcome to Server" window. Instead, choose Connect to Server from the Manage menu.
Choose your server from the list that appears, or click "Other Mac" and then click Continue.

I should've noted that these are web servers in various locations. They would not show on Bonjour.
I'd still expect Server to remember and list them, and certainly the documentation doesn't indicate it's a LAN only feature.
