  • Publishing webservice etc...

    Dear all,
    I know that if we really want to publish the webservice we will take care of Authentication with Basic or with certificates etc, as you know. But will it be accessible from external networks (like internet ofcourse with some security) if I publish in service registry. As we dont have ESR now, dont we use my webservice from external networks?? Now we are able to access it from other applications in same network.
    I have seen the screen cam showing the creation of webdynpro object which will access the standard webservice. Do we use enterprise services directly in ECC if we have ESR or do we need portal for this?? It seems I am asking silly questions, plz dont mind, I am very new to web related developments.
    I dont understand how can we import standard enterprise services and use those. Would you provide a document having the steps regarding this??
    Regards,
    Chandra.

    Hi Chandra,
    There are two places where you can publish your Web Service
    a) Service Registry( not ESR, ESR stands for Enterprise Service Repository which is for some other purpose)
    Consumption Process------>
    1)Client will search through service registry and choose a service which is required. He will get the WSDL file for that service from service registry where the endpoint address(url, hostname port etc) is mentioned.
    2) Client will make direct contact at the address specified in wsdl File
    b)Local Registry---> When you are not publishing your web service in service Registry, it is automatically published in default registry ie. registry of your web application server. You can give the WSDL client manually to the client and the client would be able to call the web service.
    In both the above two cases, you external as well as internal client can access the web service. But your http port and WSDL URL location should be accessible to the client.
    Service Registry is mainly used when you want your web service  is available and can be searched publically or in a global environment.
    The Enterprise Services are providing only services. To present it to the end user, you need some UI tools( like WebDynPro,Visual Composer etc) to consume .
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
    In CE 7.1 Ehp1 we need not publish the web service directly to the service registry. We can publish all the webservices using NetweaverAdministrator.
    Please go through this link to know how to publish the webservice to the Service Registry using NWA.

  • MOVING DATA FROM MICROSOFT ACCESS, EXCEL, PUBLISHER AND WORD TO AN IMAC G5

    I HAVE INHERITED AN IMAC G5 RUNNING MAC OSX. CAN I CONVERT MY MICROSOFT ACCESS, EXCEL, PUBLISHER AND WORD FILES FROM MY HP PAVILION RUNNING WINDOWS 98 SE TO RUN ON THIS IMAC?

    Please do not post in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.
    It looks like you are SHOUTING AT EVERYONE.
    That said... you can purchase Microsoft Office for Mac and use your Word and Excel files as you normally would on any Windows PC.
    Microsoft Access and Publisher will require you to use Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office for Windows. You'd need to install Virtual PC for Mac on your G5 to use Windows and Office for Windows.
    It'll likely be slow and painful.

  • Problem accessing BI Publisher.

    Hi,
    Am a newbie trying to learn OBIEE. Am facing issues accessing BI Publisher. When I access BI Publisher as an Administrator, it lets me in but all that I could see in the 'Reports' tab is that there are 2 folders 'Shared Folder' and 'My Folder' and both of them are empty. I have the 'Schedules' folder disabled. I checked the privileges of the 'Administrator' and everything seems fine. I have even double checked the Services and nothing seems wrong. Please let me know what am I missing here...

    I did install the tables, but not from the button on the Admin page. For some reason I could not get the button to do anything. So it could be that they are not installed correctly or that something else did not happen.
    And it appears that I am using BIEE security. So how do I schedule the reports? do I need to grant Administrator some roles in OBIEE?

  • Cannot access BI Publisher

    Hello,
    I am new to OBIEE, I have installed 10.1.3.3 successfully. Now I'm able to design rpd and create all kind of reports & dashboards but I am not able to access my BI publisher and the error message is
    An error occurred during execution of "connect". No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. [Socket:764]
    Error Details
    Error Codes: ETI2U8FA
    Can anyone help me with this?
    Aaron

    Hi,
    BI Publisher will get installed automatically when you choose 'complete' and use the pre-configured OC4J container.
    I would suggest to activate the default rpd first (paint.rpd) and try to access BI Publisher:
    <servername>:<port number>/xmlpserver and log on with Administrator/Administrator.
    If this succeeds, then your installation is OK. When you create a new rpd be sure then that you assign the right BI Publisher roles to the users (see the installation Guide). i.e.: XMLP_ADMIN should be assigned to the Administrator. For this in OBI Administration tool create a Group XMLP_ADMIN without specific rights and assign the Administrator user to that group.

  • Allow anonymous access to Publisher Diagnostics?

    Does anyone know of a way to allow access to Publisher Diagnostics without having to enter credentials? Long story short, I'd like to turn off authentication for the publisher diagnostics page of our published content redirector servers. Please let me know if anyone knows how to do that. Thanks.

    Yes, that was very helpful.  Thanks!
    Just in case that site dissapears and someone else needs this info, here it is:
    If you don’t see the “Anonymous Access” menu option in the “Settings” menu, it might not be turned on in Central Admin/IIS. You can manually navigate to “_layouts/setanon.aspx” if you want, but the options will be grayed out if it hasn’t been enabled in IIS
    First get to your portal. Then under “My Links” look for “Central Administration” and select it.
    In the Central Administration site select “Application Management” either in the Quick Launch or across the top tabs
    Select “Authentication Providers” in the “Application Security” section
    Click on the “Default” zone (or whatever zone you want to enable anonymous access for)
    Under “Anonymous Access” click the check box to enable it and click “Save”
    NOTE: Make sure the “Web Application” in the menu at the top right is your portal/site and not the admin site.
    You can confirm that anonymous access is enabled by going back into the IIS console and checking the Directory Security properties.
    Now the second part is to enable anonymous access in the site.
    Return to your sites home page and navigate to the site settings page. In MOSS, this is under Site Actions – Site Settings – Modify All Site Settings. In WSS it’s under Site Actions – Site Settings.
    Under the “Users and Permissions” section click on “Advanced permissions”
    On the “Settings” drop down menu (on the toolbar) select “Anonymous Access”
    Select the option you want anonymous users to have (full access or documents and lists only)
    Now users without logging in will get whatever option you allowed them.
    A couple of notes about anonymous access:
    You will need to set up the 2nd part for all sites unless you have permission inheritance turned on
    You must do both setups to enable anonymous access for users, one in IIS and the other in each site

  • How to access PI/XI Webservice in Visual Composer 7.0 SP14

    Hi all,
    is there anybody who can describe how to connect to the pi/xi system and access webservices published by the xi, in Visual Composer?
    Thank you for your help!
    Kind regards, Patrick.

    Hi,
    There are two ways to get the services into VC.
    1St Method.
    If you have the Zip file or XML file of your system(which you can get from the portal where these systems configured) then import it in under systemadministration->transport->import ->zip or XML.
    then you have to creat a alias for this system and do the usermapping then it will appear in VC
    2nd Method.
    You have to configure the systems in the portal then you have to creat a alias for this system and do the usermapping then it will appear in VC.

  • Triggering a published webservice using Webservice

    Hi All,
    I am presently trying to invoke an Oracle BPM webservice published on the Enterprise Server. I however, always get hit with "Process Access Denied" Soap Fault. I happened to create an participant in the enterprise with the same Role as the defined in my published process. I also added "Global Creation Activity" hoping that it would help me figure out the issue. None of which seems to help me resolve my issue.
    The same process seems to work fine while executing from Studio.
    The response message is posted below:

  • Problems using a VB Client to access a JAVA Webservice

    Hi people!
    I'm using JDeveloper (9.0.3) to create a JAVA Webservice on OC4J container. I followed tutorial of Oracle and I got to execute my webservice, including I can invoke my methods by HTTP using HTML forms.
    I need to invoke my methods using a VB Client with MIcrosoft SOAP ToolKit. My VB code is:
    Function autenticar(login As String, senha As String)
        Dim ObjWS As New MSSOAPLib30.SoapClient30
        Dim retorno As Variant
        Call ObjWS.MSSoapInit("http://10.71.200.40:8888/iSimp-Web-Root/br.gov.anp.isimp.controleVersao.ControleVersaoEJB?WSDL")
        retorno = ObjWS.autentica(login, senha)
        autenticar = retorno
    End FunctionMy webservice publish a method called autentica that receives two parameters (a login and a password) and authenticates to obtain access to my system.
    When I try to execute this function, I got this message error:
    No deserializer found to deserialize a ":login" using encoding style "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/". [java.lang.illegalArgumentException]Anyone knows what is this error?

  • Publish WebService and Create Alias Name

    Dear All,
              I created web service and deployed into WAS sucessfully through WebDynpro. Now i can access that webservice through Dynpro application. I didn't publish on
    the UDDI Registry.
              My problem is in future the the Web service URL might be changed into some other server. So without coding change i have to access new web service URL.
         I tried the following way to access _setHTTPDestinationName() method, but i could not see this method.
    If try the following way i got only three methods.
    1. _setEndPoint()
    2. _setPassword()
    3. _setUser().
      wdContext.currentRequest_RLCWebServiceViDocument_getRoleElement().modelObject().
    Can you anybody help how to publish in UDDI directory and create alias name?.
    Advance Thanks,
    S.Saravanan.

    Hi,
    I was also facing the same problem when I was using NWDS 2.0.9. After it was upgraded to SP 15, the issue got solved.
    The method _setHTTPDestinationName() for setting the HTTP Destination name to a modelobject is available in the NWDS SP 15. Pls make a try with this version of NWDS and hope this would solve the problem.

    Please let us know the solution for the same. Thanks in Advance !

    As a workaround, after doing a "Clean All" and just before doing a "Build All", I created a "weboutput" folder manually under the 'build' folder in the web project in Workshop. That worked for me.
    [For some reason, everytime we do a "Clean", it deletes the 'weboutput' folder that it depends on ,even though it always remains empty].
    Hope this helps !
