Accessing ECC system via portal

Hello,
We are in the process of implementing netweaver 2004s components for one of our client.  In the landscape we have ECC6.0, BI 7.0 and XI 7.0.  We are planning to use Enterprise Portal for the SSO activation.  Presently the client is having windows active directory.
My question is if I need to integrate ECC6.0 with the EP for the SSO, is there any portal development effort is required?.  How do we access the ECC from the portal.  For each ECC tcode do we need to create any iviews?   Kindly advice.
Regards
Sachin

Hi Sachin,
You can easily do that. Create you transaction iview using "Session_Manager" transaction. This transaction will bring the user on initial screen as he gets in ECC after logging. Due to this Iview he will be able to see the menu bar as in traditional ECC screen. So from there the user can navigate to other transactions as well for which the user is authorized.
You can create the transaction ivews from portal following these steps:
1) Logon to portal with Content Administrator Role.
2) Select Content Administration> Portal Content. On Right Side Select Portal Content.
3) Right Click Portal Content>new>iview. On right side select Iview Template out of three radio buttons. Click Next.
4) Select SAP Transaction Iview from the list of Iview Templates.
5) Provide Iview Name, ID properties.
6) Select SAP GUI Type say "SAP GUI for HTML" for HTML.
7) Here Select your System Alias name to which you want to connect, TCode need to be accessed. Click Next and then Finish.
    If your system is successfully created and running then you will be able to preview the iview.
I hope the information provided will be very useful to you..

Sumit

  • Data Migration from Legacy system to ECC systems via ETL through SAP PI

    Hi All,
    I wanted to know if we can migrate the data from Legacy systems to ECC systems via PI.
    What I understand is there is ETL tool is used to extract the data from legacy system, and what client is looking to load that data via PI?
    Can we do that ? I am concerned because this will involve mass data?
    If I have to use PI , I see option of  PROXY / IDOC /FILE as receiver in ECC system (take the data from ETL)?
    Can somebody has done this earlier , please share the approach.
    Thanks,
    Pushkar Patel

    Hi ,
    I require few details from you.
    1. What ETL tool you are using, If Informatica, it already have PowerConnect to connect to SAP. So you can create source and Target Structure and also you can use RFC's to send data to R/3. Else, for other ETL tools, can you prepare RFC's or any other way to send data to R/3. let me know the tool.
    2. Does R/3 contains the master data tables? If yes, then try to use LSMW for Mass upload of data to tables.
    If your client don't want to use either of these options please elaborate, what is the case.

  • Connecting to Multiple ECC systems via one Gateway system(Dynamic System Selection)

    Hi Experts,
    We have multiple ECC systems and one Gateway server. We want to connect to these different ECC systems using one GW system.
    I have created System Aliases for these ECC system in GW system. For a service, i added 2 system aliases.
    Now we are looking for the solution where UI can provide the system alias (it wants to connect) as a parameter while calling oData Service.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Rohit

    Hi Rohit,
    we have a similar scenario where we have two system aliases for one service. Both aliases point to the same system, but different clients; it should not make a difference though, having different systems. The feature you are looking for is Multiple Origin Composition (MOC).
    There are a couple of things you have to consider:
    in the SEGW the entity to be called has to be marked as addressable
    the URI of the service needs to include the tag for MOC (;mo) --> http://sapgw.domain.org:8000/sap/opu/odata/sap/ZSOME_SERVICE;mo/entityset
    Without the ;mo the call will be routed to your default alias. The ;mo will route the call to both systems. Using MOC will generate an additional key property into your entities --> SAP__ORIGIN. The property is the alias. If you want to route to a specific system you have to provide the SAP__ORIGIN like providing normal key properties in your requests.
    This will look like this:
    <content type="application/xml">
      <m:properties xmlns:m="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices/metadata" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices">
        <d:SAP__Origin>SOME_ALIAS</d:SAP__Origin>
        <d:Identifier>SOME_IDENTIFIER</d:Identifier>
        <d:Doublet />
      </m:properties>
    </content>
    The original Entity only consists of the key property "Identifier" and the property "Doublet". "SAP__ORIGN" is added via the ;mo.
    Hope it helped...

  • Can users who accessed the system via the ITS be identified?

    Dear experts,
    I wondered if there is any SAP system table which provides the information that a certain logged-in user has connected to the SAP-system via the ITS. I couldn't find anything and I've also been searching the SDN forums for that information in vain.
    Thanks in advance for your help

  • Can't connect to a SAP backend system via portal/web dynpro/JCo destination

    Scenario:
         Can't successfully set the JCo destination.. Always got a Java exception..
    Solution:
         Use the router string "/H/sapserv3/S/3296/H/", instead of
    "/H/sapserv3.wdf.sap.corp/S/3296/H/".
         This looks like a bug in portal NW2004s SP9.

    Sorry for the delay, but I was not able to get access to this system until this afternoon.  I ran the ARP command you suggested on the server, and it did return the correct IP and MAC address values for the problem workstation.
    I then ran IPCONFIG/displaydns on the server.  There was a record there for the problem workstation.  The "record name" matched the machine name correctly.  However, the "A <Host> Record" value was for the wrong IP address (192.168.1.4
    rather than the actual workstation IP of 192.168.1.7).  This could certainly explain why I am not able to RWA/RDP to the machine by name, although I can make an internal RDP connection via IP address.
    Could you please tell me what I need to do to repair this problem?  Should I run IPCONFIG/flushdns on the server?
    Thanks again for your assistance.

  • Accessing Java System - Via SAPRouter

    Hi,
    Is it possible to access the NetWeaver component via SAPRouter.If yes please provide the settings to be done in saprouter and how to access BI java part in web browser.
    Thanks,
    Vignesh P

    Hi,
    >My Question is how to access http://192.168.xxx.xxx:50000/irj/index.html from out side network.
    I don't think that it is possible for us, SAP customers,  to use the saprouter as an HTTP gateway.
    It is, of course, possible for SAP support but I don't know how they do it. I've never found a documentation about it.
    There must be something special because  a standard web browser does not know what to do whith a saprouter.
    The official solution for external HTTP access is to use a reverse proxy like the SAP Web dispatcher or Apache.
    This works perfectly for us. In one case, we have a saprouter (for sapgui access) and an Apache reverse proxy (for BSP browser access) on the same host in a DMZ.

  • Could not connect to backend system through portal via Web Dispatcher

    Web dispatcher redirecting problem
    Dear Experts,
    I have implemented a scenario which comprised of customizing that is developed in Portal EP7. What customizing does is getting report from backend system (ERP 6.0)
    According to the needs for reaching the portal from internet I configured the SAP Web Dispatcher in the environment as you may see its contents below.
    The problem is when I run the customizing in portal system then it requires connecting to backend system (ECC 6.0) to get the data (report). But from this point on web browser comes to a blank page, could not view the data that is from backend system via portal. Because in the time when it tries to retrieve data in backend system, on the left bottom of the explorer the indicator shows internet address that system uses connecting to the backend system as local network address of the backend system which is not known in internet therefore I get blank page.
    The question is how to configure the web dispatcher in a way that both portal and backend systems could be reachable from internet?
    Contents of profile file of Web Dispatcher as;
    SAPSYSTEMNAME = WDP
    SAPGLOBALHOST = portald
    SAPSYSTEM = 02
    INSTANCE_NAME = W02
    DIR_CT_RUN = $(DIR_EXE_ROOT)\$(OS_UNICODE)\NTAMD64
    DIR_EXECUTABLE = $(DIR_CT_RUN)
    Accesssability of Message Server
    rdisp/mshost = portald
    ms/http_port = 8101

    icm/HTTP/redirect_0 = PREFIX=/, TO=/irj/index.html
    icm/HTTP/redirect_0 = PORT=50000
    #maximum number of concurrent connections to one server
    wdisp/HTTP/max_pooled_con = 500
    wdisp/HTTPS/max_pooled_con = 500
    Configuration for medium scenario
    icm/max_conn = 500
    icm/max_sockets = 1024
    icm/req_queue_len = 500
    icm/min_threads = 10
    icm/max_threads = 50
    mpi/total_size_MB = 80
    Regards,
    Ali Taner

    Hi,
    To resovle this you must have registered FQDN for your backend system as well. When you call the report from Portal using internet it should call that FQDN of your backend system then DNS will resolve this & you will get the expected page. This way only you can resolve this issue.
    Thanks,

    Hi Justin,
    SSO logon not possible; logon tickets not activated on the server
    Please check your WAS Profile Parameters in RZ11:
    For enabled SSO,WAS should have the possibility to create and accept SSO-Tickets. For that the Profile Parameters should be:
    login/create_sso2_ticket = 2
    login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1

  • Collaboration  with vendor  via Portal?

    Hi everyone :
       I meet a problem about collaboration with vendor. Our customer has lots of vendor ,and our customer expect that their vendor could query related R/3 report real-time via Portal on Internet .
       I had done the SSO between Portal and R/3, and the user who had Portal user and R/3 both  could access R/3 via Portal easily. We can create user for vendor in Portal easily, but it is impossible that we create user for all of vendors in R/3 , because of R/3 user need to pay for license. So vendors could not query R/3 report via Portal now .
        My problem :
        1. Vendors can't query R/3 report via Portal now.
    Is there anyone met this problem ever , and How to solve this problem ?
        2.On the assumption that our vendor can query R/3 report via Portal now, how can we control the authorization that certain vendor could query his data only, can't query other vendor's data ?
        Any advice and discuss is welcome!

  • Unable to access ECC transactions from CRM using Transaction Launcher

    Hi Folks, we are trying to create a booking request using VA11 from portal. For this we have configured transaction launcher in CRM which will connect to ECC system from portal and VA11 screen will be launched. For this we have done the necessary configuration in transaction launcher (Including RFC destination and logical system) and this is working fine in Dev system but not in quality system. We are able to see SAP screen with toolbar Menu and System but not the entire transaction (refer image below). Our questions here are,
    1)     What user type has to be configured when connecting from CRM to ECC? (System, Communication data or any ohter)
    2)     If this has to work with user as Dialog, is there any supporting document from SAP saying this should be Dialog user?
    3)     Is there any other issue and need development specifically related BOR TSTC?
    Warm regards and thanks in advance for your time.
    Prasad

    Hello JC,
    Yes, it is possible . You have to create new work center link or Direct Link for the existing transaction launcher.

  • External Facing Portal with access to ITS via Transaction Iview

    Hi Experts,
    We have a requirement to make the portal available externally for third party vendors to access ECC transactions.  We have configured a URL with a reverse proxy to the portal server.  Portal loads fine from outside the network, but when launching a transaction I-view, a page cannot be displayed error comes up in IE-8 and Chrome says it cannot access the ECC server.
    I've searched the forums and come up with a couple of tips, but that brings on a couple more questions.
    It seems you can direct traffic from external URL to portal server:port, but when launching an transaction I-view, it needs to be redirected again to the ECC server:port/sap/bc/gui* (or something like that for SICF GUI service).  Question here is, once this redirect happens, technically the ECC box is now available externally vs. only the portal?  Is this recommended?
    Other option I've found is to try and use IAC I-views instead.  Is this really much different than a transaction i-view in how portal handles the opening Iframe?  Does it allow backend connectios without rerouting internet traffic to the backend server?
    Are they any other options to make this type of setup work for external facing portals using transaction iviews to access ITS?
    Thanks for the help!

    Hi
    Did you able to resolve the issue. We have installed Web Dispatcher through we are able to call the EP but when calling the transaction iViews page not found error pops up, since from EP server request to ECC goes via the URL http://<ecchost.domain>.:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=100.
    Thanks

    There is no weblog on IDOC to webservice. But u can have a look at blogs on RFC to webservice.
    Then using above given Steps + weblogs u can build ur scenario.
