Accessing env-entry from out side bean

Hi,
          I have my env-entry element declared in ejb-jar.xml like this
          <env-entry>
          <env-entry-name>ConfigFile</env-entry-name>
          <env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type>
          <env-entry-value>centaur</env-entry-value>
          </env-entry>
          and if I access that value from the EJB(MDB) of that ejb-jar.xml, it is giving the right value. But when I am trying to retrieve the same from a java class, that is throwing exception "javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'ConfigFile' Resolved ; remaining name 'ConfigFile'"
          I think this is because env-entry has access to only EJB or MDB to maintain security?
          or can env-entry elemenets cab be accessed outside the EJB and some thing I am doing wrong here?
          can some one help me here?

The java:comp/env namespace is local to the J2EE component (ie the EJB).
          You could certainly have a business method that returned the value and call the business method from a java class.
          Or your EJB could lookup the env-entry in JNDI and store it in another data structure.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
    Also check the Mouse driver settings in the Control Panel.

  • Accessing EnvironmentProperty entries from an EJB

    Does anyone know how to access environment entries from within an EJB? One of the examples in the ejb/corba devguide contains the following:
    // Add any environment properties that
    // the bean requires
    EnvironmentProperties {
    prop1 = "value1";
    prop2 = "value two";
    Yet there are no examples or instructions on how to access them anywhere in the document, nor in any of the other Java documents, that I've found.
    I've tried the following from within my ejb:
    Context Initial = new InitialContext();
    String prop1 = (String)initial.lookup("prop1");
    This does not work. Neither does a string of the form "java:comp/env/prop1".
    Anybody know how to access these properties?
    Cheers,

    In answer to my own question, use the SessionContext getEnvironment() method.

  • While connecting to the default instance from out side of the server it's reaches to Named instance ?i

    Hi All,
    We have two named instance in "test" server. the names like test\a & test\b... The tcp\ip for test\a is dynamic and for test\b is default port 1433... Now customer requested to install the default instance...we had an issue with installation
    that is the default port number is in use so, the default installation failed and then i changed the settings in registry to use the dynamic port for default instance and then i manually start the sql servers...seems all are good...but when i connecting this
    default instance from out side of the box through SSMS it's pointing to the named instance which one having the default port number(test\b).
    We can change the port number for test\b and assign that port to default instance...but the applications which are connecting to the test\b those are using the default port number...so, we don't want to disturb the connectivity...
    is there any way to fix this issue with out changing the port number for test\b ?
    it is urgent...we have to fix this issue ASAP..
    Thanks in Advance,
    rup

    Hi rup,
    Glad to hear the issue is resolved.
    As your post, if SQL Server is configured to use dynamic port,
    it is difficult for application connectivity because the port number selected changes every time that the Database Engine is started.
    From your description, you have changed the dynamic port number to static port number. To avoid a common pitfall, please also ensure that
    you have deleted the entry (0 or some random port) for dynamic port in SQL Server Configuration Manager. For more details, please review this
    blog.

  • Not able to sign in in FBA from out side the server.

    Hello All,
    I have created https enabled web application and sitecollection using power shell. After creating web application, I have enabled claimed based authentication using below mentioned code :
    $wa = get-SPWebApplication https://tenant-test02.mydomain.ch
    $wa.UseClaimsAuthentication = $true
    $wa.Update()
    I have enabled FBA on my sharepoint foundation 2013. I am using default login page for login mechanism. While accessing pages from the SharePoint server, login mechanism works successfully. But when I am trying to open same site from out side the network,
    it shows the login page but its showing error message when clicking on "Login" button.
    From the co-relation Id I am getting below error message.
    "Cannot get Membership Provider with name "mycutomprovider". The membership provider for this process was not properly configured. You must configure the membership provider in the .config file for every SharePoint process"
    Any suggestion ?

    Hi Suhil,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you accessed the site with FBA from outside.
    Did you add the membership provider settings to the machine.config or to each web.config files?
    If not, please refer to the link below to implement this:
    http://chrisbarba.com/2013/07/16/sharepoint-2013-forms-based-authentication-fba/
    If you access the extended web application from outside, then please check if the extended zone has been configured to use the form based authentication.

    thanks in advnace

    power mac, you could use other software like timbuktu or logmein. If you wanted to you Apple Remote Desktop, you would have to set up VPN so the mac you would be using to control the other ones is part of the network.

    Hey Frank,
    The JCo, DI API and DB are all on PL 18. I have found that the error only occurs for one business partner, and that business partner had a service contract added to it the day before the error started to occur. Also the business partner in question is the only business partner with a service contract which would explain why it is the only one experiencing these problems. It could be a coincidence but I will let you know what the outcome is.

  • How to get access via RMI from a session bean to a remote session bean?

    I have 2 J2EE applications in two different Sun Application Servers (8.0 PE). I would like to get access from one Session Bean "SB1" into Application A to Session Bean "BrickFacade" within Application B.
    My Java Code from "SB1":
             Context ic = new InitialContext();
             Object o = ic.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/BrickFacade");

             brickFacade = brickFacadeHome2.create();
             Collection col = brickFacade.doSomething();
             ...I configured the remote App.server in sun-ejb-jar.xml. I found the syntax within documentation (http://docs.sun.com/source/817-6087/dgjndi.html#wp24622) but I'm not sure if I this is the right usage.

  • Can't access env-entry s in init()

              Hi all,
              How can I access the <env-entry>'s I have in my deployment descriptor in my servlet's

  • Move env-entry from web.xml into deployment plan

    I have:

    <env-entry-name>USERNAME</env-entry-name>
    <env-entry-value>someUser</env-entry-value>
    <env-entry-type>java.lang.String</env-entry-type>
    </env-entry>
    and I'd like to move it from web.xml into my_app_plan.dat. Is it possible? How?
    Thank you in advance!

    Let me describe my case in few more words...
    I have some kind of client-server app. Clients have OC4J installed and they download myApp.ear and myApp_plan.dat files and by using script (Windows CMD batch file) clients install those files with admin_client.jar, OC4J's admin utility. The problem is that I have 2 different types of clients and I have client specific settings set in web.xml file and each time I compile myApp.ear I have to uncomment/comment some lines in web.xml.
    So, to make a long story short, I need a way to deploy those settings separated from (outside of) myApp.ear. By following you link, I have read that orion-web.xml should reside inside WEB-INF folder of myApp.ear, which is not good for me.

  • Env-entry from web.xml not in generated plan.xml

    Hello,
    Recently I migrated a JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 project to 11.1.1.3 and from there to 11.1.2.4. When I deploy this project to an 10.3.5. weblogic server then the 'env-entry' entires in the web.xml are not available on the application server.
    Even when i use weblogic.PlanGenerator with the -all option to create a plan.xml from the WAR-file the env-enties are not found.
    The web.xml is like this:

  • Is it Necessary to lock the table while accessing the entries from table

    Hi Gurus,
    While optimization of the Program i came through one type of coding is in  inside the Loop of The internal table  which is processing BDC call transcation through updating the Custom table.
    Before processing the BDC, the Custom table has been locked and read the entries from same custom  table ,if the process fails then it waits for another 20 seconds and retrying the same for another time .I could not able to understand the Logic behind this.if it is not the Correct way then i can straight away remove this Part which is very well improve the perfromance of the Object.
