Accessing internal table of main program inside function module...

I have function module say ZFUNC and main program say ZMAIN and internal table defined as IT_TAB inside ZMAIN but not passed as parameter to Function module ZFUNC.
If I want to access the field value of IT_TAB of main program ZMAIN inside ZFUNC during debugging then, I simply put (ZMAIN)IT_TAB-amount in ABAP debugger and then change it when the debugger is inside ZFUNC.
How can I write code to change the value of internal table of main program in function module ZFUNC instead of doing in debugger ? I guess I have to use some field symbols, but not sure. Please suggest.

Yes, you do need to use a field symbol. Say for example, you had a internal table called IMARC in your program and you want to access it later in a funciton module, you would do something like this.
data: xmarc type marc.
field-symbols: <imarc> type marc_upl_tt.
* Assign an internal table
field = '(ZPROGRAM_NAME)IMARC[]'.
assign (field) to <imarc>.
loop at <imarc> into xmarc.
write: / xmarc-matnr, xmarc-werks.

Call an executable program inside function module and pass the table values

Hi,
       i'm pretty new to HR Abap programming. I have a requirement like "calling an executable program within a function module and the output of the program data(Stored in internal tables) should be passed to the function module tables".
I've some idea about SUBMIT keyword and i used it in the function module..

I've used Option 3 as per dsouzajovito suggestion. Now i'm getting data in function module tables using import/ export table to memory concept.
Again a small issue arises, while i'm executing function module it fetches all pernr available in the server and displays the details of last pernr. GET pernr statement is used in the Z report and submit statement is used like this as follows.
SUBMIT ZHR_RFC_PAYSLIP   WITH PERNR-PERNR EQ EMPCODE
                                      WITH PYBEGDA EQ FDATE
                                      WITH PYENDDA EQ LDATE
                                      AND RETURN.
Pls suggest if there is any corrections in the code.
If i give a pernr as input in the function module, then it should fetch the details related only to that pernr.
FYI, No selection screen is used here as per requirement.

Translating the error message -;)
The running ABAP-program wanted to carry out an opus SQL-direction, with which the hit quantity with 'INTO
CORRESPONDING FIELDS' is supposed to be placed into name same fields the goal area. Herewith the name same
fields of the goal area must have be a flat type, or of the type STRING or XSTRING.
In the existing case, the goal area "" contains however a name same field "MANDT" with the forbidden internal type "l".
You should check you structures and assign the correct TYPE to the fields -:)

As you probably can see by the question, my ABAP Knowledge isn't exactly overwhelming !
anyway:
I'm trying to create a function module in NW2004s, This functionmodule should take an internal table, based on a structure as (import) parameter.
In the earlier version, I've done this by defining it under the TAB 'Tables' in the function builder - But know its telling me that "Tables Parameters are obsolete", and that I should define it under "Changing" instead.
I have tried that, but I'm only allowed to pass a single line, and if I try to do a Loop, in the function module, it tells me that ity isn't created as an internal table.
So please - what is the "best practice" here ?

Pass Parameter ID from Main Program into Function Module

For material, there is a fileds product hierarcy (MARA-PRDHA) on Basic view, but we also append the same field in materail sales view (MVKE-PRDHA) and put on the screen of sales view, so the user want the PRDHA on sales view could be updated automatically when it has been changed on Basic view. On the screen of basic view, the field MARA-PRDHA is set as parameter ID 'VPR', the sales views are updated in function module MVKE_SET_DATA, so how can I get the value of parameter ID 'VPR' in MVKE_SET_DATA to populate the value in Sales View?!
Does parameter IDs and their values locate in global memory?!
if yes, why i can't get it with: GET PARAMETER ID "VPR' <f>?

Yes, this is SAP standard program for MM41/MM42 (Article material), I can't change the program and the screens are different for basis and sales views. So, I am just wondering whether there is a way to pass the parameter value of product hierarchy on basic view to any other screen process when it's updated on basic view.
The problem is the program check every single table (views) in individual function module, so it's hard to pass any updating (not updated) value from any other views.

You can Export values of an Internal table in two ways, by :
1) specifying in Tables tab
(Not recommended since it's an obsolete in ECC 6.0)
If used, will reduce the performance of the FM
Tables are always passed by reference
2) specifying in Exports tab.
The parameter should be a Table type (created in se11)
having a Line type that refers to the structure of the data.
Pass by Value is not used for Normal Function modules.
Used usually for RFC enabled FMs.

I am writing a code where in i have to transfer data from excel to database table.
Iam getting the excel data in an itab. Can anybody help me with how to access internal tables at runtime ?
i am using the following code with sy-tabix. here, when the sy-tabix is odd it picks up the value,
but i want that within the same loop when i increment sy-tabix by 1, then it should fetch the second column of same row. But its not working as it shows an error that it does not permit subfield access.

Accessing internal table declared outside of BAdI implementation

I am working on a BAdI implementation and within the BAdI, I need to manipulate the data of an internal table that is declared in the calling routine. This internal table is not a parameter to the BAdI call. I am wondering is there a way to access the internal table that is not recognized by the BAdI implementation? If so, what's the syntax to do this?
I know in debug mode, I am able to access the content of the internal table by using (Program)Itab. But I get a syntax error when accessing the internal table using (Program)Itab syntax.

I tried your method, but I am getting a short dump due to type conflict. I think it's because the internal table I'd like to access is declared using the following syntax:
data: begin of itab occurs 0,
end of itab.
Therefore, when processing the assign statement, the field-symbol is being treated as a structure...
I tried to change the field-symbol type to any, but after that, I can't modify the table content using loop at type of syntax..
Do you have any other suggestions?

Exporting An message Internal table to Standard program Internal Table

Hi,
In T-code VOFM, We have Goods issue routine 113, Now in Custmizing 913 is Configured. we are Checking the status of each handling unit of the Delivery. So I am getting the status Incomeplete Message for Multipe HU's. hence AM storing into One internal Table and Now I want To Export That Internal Table to Standard Program Internal Table 'WAT'.

How to access internal table data from webdynpro to Flex application.

The data transfer from Abap WebDeypro to flex island works well. I followed , there is an example from Thomas Jung (by the way as always Great Work) and Karthikeyan Venkatesan (Infosys) but this example covers simple type only.
There is no example with complex types like arrayCollection which handle the transfer of data from flex to WebDynpro.
i tried to do pass internal table value to flex-datagrid.but its not work.
i would like to know
1.how to access internal table data from webdynpro to Flex application.
2.how to pass the internal table to flex-datagrid.
2.how to pass dynamically in ADOBE flex.
3. how to do Flex is receiving the wd context data?
4. how can we update WD context with FLEX data.
Ple give me sample example and step by step procedure.

You can simply goto t-code SE14 mention the open hub destination table and Delete data by clicking on "Activate and Adjust database" with radio button "Delete Data".

Passing internal table from one program to other without using IMPORT

Hi Experts,
I need to pass an internal table from one program to other. However i cannot use IMPORT/EXPORT due to some reason. Any idea how this can be done?

hi,
for passing itab from one program to another u can use
IN FIRST PROGRAM WRITE ,
perform pass_data(SECOND_PROGRAM_NAME) using ITAB.
in both the program declare itab with same structure.
if u want to do some changes in that itab and if u want it back in first program then write as
perform pass_data(SECOND_PROGRAM_NAME) using ITAB changing itab.
