Accessing OBIEE report  mobile browser or tablet

HI
jdev 11.1.1.5
we have OBIEE reports embeded in adf jspx page .
can we access this report from mobile browser or tablet ?
I think we can access OBIEE report using OBIEE client application for Iphone.
but is it possible to access the same from mobile browser?(embeded in adf application)

Nikhil,
It shouldn't matter whether its coming from ADF or from Oracle BI PS directly what matters is the default formatting of the images/charts that get rendered.
I wrote a post about how to change the default image format in OBI 11g (11.1.1.3), http://www.artofbi.com/index.php/2010/12/to-flash-or-not-to-flash-svg-and-png-options-not/.
In that post a bug prevented this default image switch from working but I think they have fixed it in 11.1.1.5 (I haven't tested it yet due to time constraints).
I would attempt attempting to change from Flash to SVG and then you should be able to view your ADF and the default Oracle BI PS charts/graphs via the tablet devices.
Cheers,
Christian

  • How to access OBIEE report in J2EE application?

    Hi All,
    I need to integrate OBIEE with my J2ee application. The scenario is something like
    i need to access the reports(that were created by BI Answers) via my j2ee application. I will provide a simple screen and the user will enter a value and i need to pass the value to OBIEE .Then it will filter out the data based on that value and shows to the user.
    I have tried it by using GO URL and i am able to access the OBIEE environment but when i tried to pass the value it doesn't navigate.Even i am not able to search a particular report.
    How could i proceed? Should i use some variable to store the data that is passed for search in OBIEE?
    Pls help me t solve out this. Any idea is highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ashok

    STEP 1: Like any other add-on project, refer SBO UI and DI COM to your project. Initialize SBO APPLICATION object and SBO COMPANY object and listen to events. (This is standard add-on project steps)
    STEP 2: Add a Dataset to the project. This is used as a data source to your Crystal Reports. (For more information on this search for Push Technique Crystal Reports)
    STEP 3: Add a Windows Form to your Project.
    STEP 4: Add a Crystal Report Control to it.
    STEP 5: Design report based on dataset added above.
    STEP 6: Launch this Form with required parameters and selection criteria when any even happens.
    Remember there is lot stuff available on net if you search with PUSH TECHNIQUE CRYSTAL REPORT. SAP SDN has lot answers for adding Crystal Reports integration to SAP Business One Add-On.

  • OBIEE reports in Mobile App Designer View

    Hi All,

    Hi Rayno,
    Did you try to use a different browser and are you at the latest patch of BIMAD?
    Mainly if you are on IE I guess the patches fix compatibility with the various version of IE most of the time (Firefox and Chrome are better for that).
    I also remember your other issue having the dashboard to display only when all the analysis are loaded, so maybe you have something in your setup (network, proxy, browser version, corporate rules etc.) impacting the user experience of BIMAD (but not only) in such a negative way.
    I didn't spend weeks on it but never got BI Server crash because of BIMAD and random java errors (are we really talking about java or javascript?).

  • OBIEE Report using webservices : problem using the htmlviewservice.

    Hi,
    I have a requirement that i have to display OBIEE report on web browser.
    i followed the following article for achieving this. http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/07/31/customizing-obi-ee-soap-api/.
    I have a problem while creation of the html page.
    the given sample code consists the following.
    startIndex = htmlOutput.indexOf("IFRAME SRC=");
    endIndex = htmlOutput.indexOf("%3aEI Index",startIndex);
    startIndex = startIndex + 12;
    endIndex = endIndex + 10;
    System.out.println("start Index ="+ startIndex+"\n"+"end Index ="+endIndex);
    url ="<HTML><BODY><IFRAME SRC=\"" +htmlOutput.substring(startIndex,endIndex) +"\"></BODY></HTML>";
    But i didn't understand the given lines of the code. I tried a code like url = "<HTML><BODY>"+ headerHTML+htmlOutput + "</BODY></HTML>";
    I am able to get the reportId, sessionId, pageId. After creation of the html page, it always display a rotating clock.
    please help me how to get the report on html page with the url.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Linking to an OBIEE report without showing the user and password

    Hi!
    we are trying to access to an obiee report from an external portal (coded with php).
    The idea is that the user clicks on a link an gets the report in pdf format. For that purpose we are using this url:
    http://ttivobiee01:7001/analytics/saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/Prueba/ogp_obi&Action=Print&P0=1&P1=eq&P2="Criteria"."Key"&P3=1402&NQuser=user&NQPassword=pass&format=pdf
    But this url is expossing OBIEE's user and password.
    In order to avoid this security issue we tried to do an wget of the url but it doesn't return the report. Instead we get an html, which seams to download the report chunk by chunk (using javaScript).
    The question is, is there any way that we could let our portal ussers access to an obbie report without expossing the user and password?
    I have been looking into oracle forums and have found this: OBIEE Go URL with password protected
    but we couldn't use this aproach due to security issues.
    Thanks!
    Nuria

    Hi!
    We have finally done this (and it works!)
    <?php
    $urlInforme='http://obi:7001/analytics/saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/Prueba/ogp_obi&Action=Print&P0=1&P1=eq&P2="Criterios"."Clave oficial"&P3=1402&NQuser=user&NQPassword=pass&format=pdf';
    $ch = curl_init($urlInforme);
    $ckfile = tempnam ("./", "CURLCOOKIE");
    $ch = curl_init ($urlInforme);
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEJAR, $ckfile);
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true);
    $output = curl_exec ($ch);
    $ch = curl_init ($urlInforme);
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEFILE, $ckfile);
    curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true);
    $fp = fopen("salida.pdf", "w");
    curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FILE, $fp);
    $output = curl_exec ($ch);
    curl_close($ch);
    fclose($fp);

  • I would like know how to view a SharePoint Page from mobile browser or app.

    I work for a company that sell products and then offers aftermarket support.  On our external SharePoint site, I created a page to link to Wiki pages that contain knowledge sharing entries.  The goal is when a member of the company learns something
    that they feel would be good to share, the can take a video, post it to Vimeo, and then embed the video with applicable text to the SharePoint site.  The SharePoint posts can also contain PDFs, other document links, and embedded pictures.
    I have the page essentially finished, I am ready for some more contributors at the company to start adding content.
    One of the goals of the site is to be viewable via a mobile application.  I have tried apps such as SPConnect, and SharePlus from Infragistics.  Their mobile apps view SharePoint as a list, and do not view any of the embedded pictures or Vimeo
    videos.
    My questions are:
    Will SharePoint 2010 support mobile web browsing with the same functionality as the standard web browser?
    If 2010 will not, will SharePoint 2013 offer the support?
    If it is possible, what features do I need from a server and what settings do I need to enable to make it happen?  Currently on our site, it is not viewable.  I use "Forms Authentication" to log into the site.
    If it is possible, do you suggest finding an app?  Is there an app that will do it, or can I just log in and view from the mobile web browser the same way I do from a standard web browser?
    Overall, I need to know what I need to do to get this to work.
    Thank you for reading.  I look forward to your responses.

    Hi Frank,
    Thanks for the fast response.
    Based on your advice, I had try to comment out all usage of graph in jsp, web.xml, and data binding file.
    But even after perform these, I still facing the same problem.
    For your information, RichSeriesSetHandler does not exist in the oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.bi.facelets.
    I suspecting RichSeriesSetHandler is configured in the app and it occur this error as it could not find the class.
    I had try to search this usage of this class in the app but there is no results found.

  • Strange error while accessing BI report inside BI Publisher

    Version: OBIEE 11.1.1.6.4, 11.1.1.7.1
    User: Administrator
    SOAP access has been provided to BI Administrator and BI System application role.
    Hello,
    We are hitting an issue, where in OBIEE report is used as a data source to create BI Publisher report. When we are trying to create a simple data model in BI Publisher and use one of the OBIEE reports as data source and try to generate XML it does not return anything and keeps processing (hour glass icon). The same OBIEE report works fine and returns result in less than 10 seconds on dashboard. BI Publisher reports created from other data sources (direct data base query) seems to be working fine, the error occurs only when we use OBIEE report as a data source in BI Publisher. We are thinking this may have to do with privileges or policy but can;t seem to narrow it down to specific configuration / settings.
    In order to debug this issue we deployed bidiagnostics.ear that comes with OBIEE 11g and found an error message in bi_server1-diagnostics.log file as following:
    [2013-08-27T16:21:22.185-05:00] [bi_server1] [NOTIFICATION] [OBI-SEC-00023] [oracle.bi.security.authentication] [tid: [ACTIVE].ExecuteThread: '8' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] [userId: <anonymous>] [ecid: cc5813bc04aa12a6:-6c4ffff:140aca1a3ec:-8000-0000000000065d70,0] [APP: bidiagnostics#11.1.1] Authenticated user identity Administrator

    I am thinking the last part of the error is what is really causing an issue but not sure what action need to be taken to resolve the same.
    Any pointers to resolution are highly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    D.

    Someone suggested that the following change should resolve the problem:
    Remove the following parameter from the instanceconfig.xml file:
      <PersistPageState>false</PersistPageState>

  • Error in Accessing the Report Server URL

    Hi All,
              I am trying to access the Report Server URL in PowerPivot.But facing below issue .Can any one help me how can I solve the issue
    Thanks,
    Sid

    Hi Visakh,
                    Yes,The user is holding the permission as "Global User" in sql.Hope you help me in solve this issue
    Thanks, Quality Communication Provides Quality Work. http://siddiq-sharepoint2010.blogspot.in/ Siddiqali Mohammad .
    Hi siddiqali,
    According to the screenshot you posted above, the use account didn't have sufficient permission to open the report, please check the following prerequisites before you perform the action:
    You must use a report definition (.rdl) file as a data source. Importing from a report model is not supported.
    You must have permission to open the report under your Windows user account, and you must know the address of the report or the report server that hosts it. You can check your permissions by trying to open the report in a Web browser first.
    If the report opens, it confirms that you have sufficient permissions and the correct URL.
    Reporting Services must be version SQL Server 2008 R2 or SQL Server 2012. Those versions include the data feed export feature that streams report data in the XML data feed format. You can identify the report server by the Export as Data Feed option
    that appears in the report toolbar when you open the report in browser:
    For detail information, please see:

    Hi Sashank, Thank for your reply and advice.
    This is a mobile ADF browser which it is deployed in EAR in Weblogic.
    ADF Mobile browser is different with ADF Mobile as one is access through mobile browser and one is access as mobile app.
    Please correct me if I'm wrong in this.
    Thanks

  • Open pdf in mobile browser (share point 2013)

    hello,
    I need to Open pdf  in mobile  browser (share point 2013).i tried browser handling type in  permissive mode.
    but i couldn't view the pdf when i access through mobile browser.
    is there any work around to do this .?
    any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks regards, Vignesh.

    Per the earlier thread, your best bet is to use Office Web Apps in conjunction with SharePoint 2013 to display PDFs. Otherwise a browser needs a control (which most if not all mobile browsers will not have) to handle viewing PDFs in the browser.
