Accessing objects by name

Hi,
I am new to Java. I have lots of labels those I want to set their text. Can I write a method taking two string variables first is the name of the object and second is the text? Like this:
public void setText(String object, String text){
          theObjectAccessedByTheString"object" .setText(text);
     }

If you want to associate names with objects, then use a java.util.Map.
Don't try to use the variable names, because they go away when you compile.

  • Object class name does not exist in IDM

    Hi Team
    We are process of Integrating GRC 10.1 to Enterprise Portal.Followed accordingly as per the SAP Note No. 1977781.
    While running the Schema Job, we get a message Schema Imported Suxcessfully. While running the Job : GRAC_REPOSITORY_SYNC_JOB, the job
    shows successful, but a Warning Message : User Adaptor Empty in SLG1 T.code.
    I have checked the Path suffix,connectors,data source and all are maintained but no sure about this warning message.
    Secondly,I tried for test creation of user on Portal via GRC 10.1.I am getting below error
    "Object class name does not exist in IDM" Please see log below
    Request gets closed stating Auto Provisioning failed.Please advice if someone has faced same issue and the steps taken to rectify it.
    Thanks
    Nitesh

    Hi Nitesh,
    We worked on this issue for quiet sometime with SAP to get this finally fixed You can check all below mentioned notes.
    First Check:
    Please check the Note: 1915763 - Error Provisioning from GRC 10 to SAP Portal while adding or removing a role in Change Account request type.
    This Note says that if your LDAP set as data source is read-only in Portal, then you need to change it to Modifiable in order to allow create or change user belonging to LDAP.
    We have set the UME correctly and no longer read-only. But our access requests still used to fail with the following messages.
    "Object class name does not exist in IDM".
    Second Check:
    Kindly ensure the field mapping for portal is done in IMG settings properly.
    If it is fine please check below note 2033714 - AC10.0: error in SGL1 "Object class name does not exist in IDM".
    This note is only to check if you have made any mistake with your portal mapping and doesn't address the correct issue.
    Third Check:
    Finally after implementing SAP note 1941250 - UAM: Truncated parameters provisioned on changing users from Access Request
    our issue got fixed.

    Madhu.

  • Database access code in objects constructor, or in data access object

    Given an object that is stored in a database, is it better to have the database access code in a constructor method, or a data access layer object? E.g. I have a Person class
    public class Person{
    int Id;
    String name;
    int age;
    }When I want to read a person's details from the database, I could use a constructor something like this:
    public Person(int id){
    Connection con = getDatabaseConnection();
    ResultSet rs = con.createStatement().executeQuery("Select name, age from person where person_id = " + id);
    rs.next();
    this.name = rs.getString(1);
    this.age=rs.getInt(2);
    }Or I could use a method in a data access object :
    public Person getPerson(int id){
    Person p = new Person();
    Connection con = getDatabaseConnection();
    ResultSet rs = con.createStatement().executeQuery("Select name, age from person where person_id = " + id);
    rs.next();
    p.setName(rs.getString(1));
    p.setAge(rs.getInt(2));
    return p;
    }It seems to me that the constructor approach has two advantages
    (1) the SQL code is kept in the relevant class (so if I want to add a field to Person, I only have to make changes to the Person class)
    (2) I don't have to have a setter method for each field
    Is one or other of these ways generally recognized as 'best practise'?

    malcolmmc wrote:
    But then, on the other hand, everytime a Person gains a new field that's two places you have to change it. if the persistence interface is written in terms of the object and uses ORM, I don't have to touch the implementation. all i have to do is update the object, the database, and the mapping - just like you and your home brew ORM.
    besides, so what? i'd fear the resource leak, bad layering, more difficult testing more.
    Actually lately I've used annotations to label setters with database field names and run a simple home brew ORM to convert rows into objects even when not using a more complex persistence manager.home brew ORM? why is that necessary when you can choose from hibernate, ibatis, jdo, jpa, etc.? that's just nuts.

  • Confusion... Data Access Object and Collection Class

    Please help me...
    i have a Book class in the library system, so normally i would have a Collection class eg. BookCollection class which keeps an array/ arrayList of Book objects. In BookCollection class i have methods like
    "searchBook(BookID)" which would return me a Book object in the array.
    But now i'm confused with Data Access Object... In sequence diagrams there's a "Data Access class" which is used to retrieve data from and send data to a database. So, if i have the Data Access class, do i still need BookCollection class? Because BookCollection serves as a database also rite? ...

    I think you're in the right rail.
    The BookCollection class could be still usefull if you will need to manage search results with more than onne record (e.g.: search by author name).

  • Is there a way to access object from other schema?

    1. Is there a way to access object from other schema
    Without using synonym/public synonym without prefixing schema owner?
    2. If you do not see any object in all_objects by same name owned by connected user or public, can there still be objects hidden from this view? for instance synonyms created by SYSTEM
    TIA for help

    Well, you missed something somewhere. If there is no
    ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA=whoeverthen there must be either public synonym for the object as this shows:
    SQL> CREATE USER a identified by a;
    User created.
    SQL> GRANT CREATE SESSION to a;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> CREATE USER b identified by b;
    User created.
    SQL> GRANT CREATE SESSION, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM to b;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> connect b/b
    Connected.
    SQL> CREATE PACKAGE test AS
      2     PROCEDURE testit;
      3  END;
      4  /
    Package created.
    SQL> CREATE PACKAGE BODY test AS
      2  PROCEDURE testit IS
      3  BEGIN
      4     NULL;
      5  END;
      6  END;
      7  /
    Package body created.
    SQL> connect a/a
    Connected.
    SQL> desc b.test
    ERROR:
    ORA-04043: object b.test does not exist
    SQL> connect b/b
    Connected.
    SQL> GRANT EXECUTE ON test TO a;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> connect a/a
    Connected.
    SQL> desc b.test;
    PROCEDURE TESTIT
    SQL> desc test;
    ERROR:
    ORA-04043: object test does not exist
    SQL> connect b/b
    Connected.
    SQL> CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM test FOR TEST;
    Synonym created.
    SQL> connect a/a
    Connected.
    SQL> desc test
    PROCEDURE TESTITAnother possibility without public synonyms is that crv had granted the other user privileges on some object, and the other user creates a private synonym for that. When crv granted privileges on a different object with the same name, the private synonym became valid again. Something like:
    SQL> connect /
    Connected.
    SQL> drop public synonym test;
    Synonym dropped.
    SQL> GRANT CREATE SYNONYM TO a;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> connect a/a
    Connected.
    SQL> desc test;
    ERROR:
    ORA-04043: object test does not exist
    SQL> desc b.test
    PROCEDURE TESTIT
    SQL> CREATE SYNONYM test FOR b.test;
    Synonym created.
    SQL> desc test;
    PROCEDURE TESTIT
    SQL> connect b/b
    Connected.
    SQL> REVOKE EXECUTE ON test FROM a;
    Revoke succeeded.
    SQL> connect a/a
    Connected.
    SQL> desc test;
    ERROR:
    ORA-04043: object "B"."TEST" does not exist
    SQL> desc b.test
    ERROR:
    ORA-04043: object b.test does not exist
    SQL> connect b/b
    Connected.
    SQL> DROP PACKAGE test;
    Package dropped.
    SQL> CREATE FUNCTION test (p_num IN NUMBER) RETURN NUMBER AS
      2  BEGIN
      3     RETURN p_num * 10;
      4  END;
      5  /
    Function created.
    SQL> GRANT EXECUTE ON test TO a;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> connect a/a
    Connected.
    SQL> desc test;
    FUNCTION test RETURNS NUMBER
    Argument Name                  Type                    In/Out Default?
    P_NUM                          NUMBER                  INSo, I would go looking for the synonyms.

  • Planning object structure name 9ADPBAS is invalid

    i am trying to access the DP planning book but then it pops up with this error "Planning object structure name 9ADPBAS is invalid".
    can anyone tell me as to why is this happening and is there a way to resolve it.
    Thank you in advance.
    suresh garg

    Hi Somnath,
    We are on SCM 5.0 and face a similar issue
    After the installation the standard MPOS - 9ADPBAS and the Planning Area 9ADP01 are not initialized.
    This is even before the custom planning areas and MPOS is transported.
    Is there an installation issue here or is it normal for this to remain inactive after the installation ?
    I also read a previous note by you on a similar issue ( 9ADPBAS) that said -
    Can you check what is the entry against your user name in transaction Assign User to Planning Book (/SAPAPO/SDPPLBK). Make sure that against transaction /SAPAPO/SDP94 the planning book and one of the data views of the planning book are correctly mentioned. If not add the entry and save while exiting. Next time you open Interactive Demand Planning the error should not come.++
    This is assuming that the planning book / data view you are trying to access is not linked to Planning Object Strcuture 9ADPBAS "
    Is there a way to rectify this while setting up the system ?
    Or
    Should we go by setting up the user in the trasaction (/SAPAPO/SDPPLBK)
    Or
    Is there any other option.
    Please advice.

    Liz

    Your DAO should have methods for getting and setting beans.
    For example:
    public Card getCard(long id){...}
    public void updateCard(Card c) {...}

    You can use the getDimensionName function to get the characteristic texts and infoobject technical name.  The following function might help you.

  • Accessing nodes by name

    I need to get stuff out of the scene graph, but the only thing I've found so far is this:
    Enumeration enum = scene.getAllChildren();
    ... and then recurse through (ouch!), and then I still don't know anything about the objects returned except the type. I can also do getChild(index), but what if I don't know the index? All I really want to do is stuff like this:
    TransformGroup myGroup = scene.getNode("TransGroup123");
    But I haven't found any way to get Geometry, Shapes, or Groups by name.

    The Java3D objects have a 'user data' instance variable that you can use for your whatever purpose you want. For example, consider using a hash map in your branch group to keep the children by name. When adding the object to the scence graph, also add it to the hash map. Then you can access it by name via the hash map lookup.
    See getUserData() and setUserData() in SceneGraphObject.

  • Accessing object members / attributes through SQL

    Hi all,
    Am I being really dumb (it's been a hard day) or am I missing something - I can't seem to access the members of an object through SQL. Is this right?
    For example :
    SQL> create type t_test as object (name varchar2(32), age number);
    2 /
    Type created.
    SQL> select me
    2 from (select t_test('Steve',31) me from dual);
    ME(NAME, AGE)
    T_TEST('Steve', 31)
    SQL> select me.name
    2 from (select t_test('Steve',31) me from dual);
    select me.name
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00904: "ME"."NAME": invalid identifier
    I can access "ME" but not ME.NAME?!
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

    You just need one more alias:
    SQL> CREATE TYPE t_test AS OBJECT
    2 (name VARCHAR2 (32),
    3      age NUMBER)
    4 /
    Type created.
    SQL> SELECT me
    2 FROM (SELECT t_test ('Steve', 31) me FROM DUAL)
    3 /
    ME(NAME, AGE)
    T_TEST('Steve', 31)
    SQL> SELECT a.me.name
    2 FROM (SELECT t_test ('Steve', 31) me FROM DUAL) a
    3 /
    ME.NA

    Hello All,
    we have created shared folder on multiple client machine in domain environment on different 2 OS like-XP,Vista, etc.
    from some day's When we facing problem when we are access from host name that shared folder is accessible but same time same computer when we are trying to access the share folder with IP it asking for credentials i have type again and again
    correct credential but unable to access that. If i re-share the folder then we are access it but when we are restarted the system then same problem is occurring.
    I have checked IP,DNS,Gateway and more each & everything is well.
    Pls suggest us.

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the same shared folder can be accessed by name, but can’t be accessed be IP address and asks for credentials.
    Please try to enable the option below on the device which has shared folder:
    Besides, check the Advanced Shring settings of shared folder and confrim that if there is any limitation settings.
    Best Regards,
    Eve Wang

  • Windows 7 Desktop synchronisation - Windows cannot access \\server\users\name\desktop

    Hi there
    My client has a laptop which won’t load the desktop when disconnected from the network. When you log on (while disconnected) you get the error
    “Windows cannot access \\server\users\name\desktop”
    Works as expected while connected to the network.
    The server is a Windows Small Business Server 2003 with active directory etc. and roaming profiles turned on. This issue does not occur on other workstations/laptops.
    When I check the Users folder on the local system drive there is not a desktop folder. I assume this is the issue although I’m not sure how you would force windows to create one or why one hasn’t been created?
    This is a brand new laptop so my initial reaction was to reset the laptop to factory state and then add the laptop back in to the domain. After this process the issue was still present!
    I guess the only thing I should mention is that this was shipped as a Home Premium laptop and was then upgraded to Professional using an upgrade key.
    I have checked Control Panel, System & Security, System, Advanced, User Profiles and the account shows as Local with Roaming Profiles greyed out.
    Any ideas?

  • How to access objects in the Child Form from Parent form.

    I have a requirement in which I have to first open a Child Form from a Parent Form. Then I want to access objects in the Child Form from Parent form. For example, I want to insert a record into a block present in Child Form by executing statements from a trigger present in Parent Form.
    I cannot use object groups since I cannot write code into Child Form to first create object groups into Child Form.
    I have tried to achieved it using the following (working of my testcase) :
    1) Created two new Forms TESTFORM1.fmb (parent) and TESTFORM2.fmb (child).
    2) Created a block named BLK1 manually in TESTFORM1.
    3) Created two items in BLK1:
    1.PJC1 which is a text item.
    2.OPEN which is a push button.
    4) Created a new block using data block wizard for a table EMPLOYEE_S1. Created items corresponding to all columns present in EMPLOYEE_S1 table.
    5) In WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger of TESTFORM1 set the first navigation block to BLK1. In BLK1 first navigable item is PJC1.
    6) In WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE of PJC1, code has been written to automatically execute the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger for the "Open" button.
    7) In WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger of OPEN item, TESTFORM2 is opened using the following statement :
    open_form(‘TESTFORM2',no_activate,no_session,SHARE_LIBRARY_DATA);
    Since its NO_ACTIVATE, the code flows without giving handle to TESTFORM2.
    8) After invoking OPEN_FORM, a GO_FORM(‘TESTFORM2’) is now called to set the focus to TESTFORM2
    PROBLEM AT HAND
    ===============
    After Step 8, I notice that it passes the focus to TESTFORM2, and statements after go_form (in Parent Form trigger) doesnot executes.
    I need go_form with no_activate, similar to open_form.

    isn't it easier to find a solution without a second form? If you have a second window, then you can navigate and code whatever you want.
    If you must use a second form, then you can handle this with WHEN-WINDOW-ACTIVATED and meta-data, which you have to store in global variables... ( I can give you hints if the one-form-solution is no option for you )

  • Accessing objects from an existing JVM on Windows

    I have a Java class that is running in an existing JVM which is running on local windows workstation. Is there a way I can access any methods or objects from the running Java class and other objects running inside the JVM from C or C++ code using Invocation API?. I know there is a way for us to ATTACH to a JVM that was created from C/C++ but I am looking for a way to access objects from a JVM that was started either as a service or started by other means.

    How did you start the C++ code?
    It is possible to load the c++ dll within your Java code then you may access the c++ code by using native methods out of Java. By calling the c++ method you have the pointer to your Java object and my use it (=> don't forget to use global references).
    If you have started both seperatly C++ in an extra process and Java in an extra process then it can be complicated. Guess that there aren't any easy solution.
    This mean: either you have your Java code loading a dll or you have C++ creating a JVM...

  • How to access PO host name in SAP BPM

    Dear experts,
       I want to give BPM inbox link as a customized message to "potential owners" in "Email Notification" step in BPM. I want to identify the <hostname> and generate the BPM inbox link. Is they any way to access the host name as "system variable" in BPM?
    Thanks!
    Amulya

    Thank you for your reply Siddhant.
    Ya, I am aware of NWA config to get an automated email for human activity. The reason I can not use this option because, automated email can not be customised. I have the requirement to customize the email with some payload variables.
    I have implemented some workaround to get the host name in BPM.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Amulya
